Oh, how I love a tree stamp!
I've written before about how versatile they can be. And this Twizzle Tree is no exception:
It could be made into any kind of tree, depending on the inks and papers you chose to make it with.
I wanted to use papers from the new Twilight 6 x 6 set for my first card...
I pulled several papers from the pack and stamped the Twizzle Tree numerous times with Versacolor gold ink.
(click on any photo to make it larger)
Then I took the tree stamped on one of the more solid black prints and matted it with a grey-ish print, then adhered those layers to a Jack O' Lantern notecard I trimmed down into a square.
Now it was time to start cutting all those fun circles from the prints I'd already stamped the tree onto...
I kept adding circles until the tree was full...
When I got to this point, I really didn't like the way the tree seemed to be floating... so I decided to add something to the bottom of the card to ground it.
Enter an old book page...
I really wanted somthing to tie the book page ground to the rest of the design, so I cut a tiny crescent moon and added it to the corner...
And there you have the first of what I know will be many Twizzle Tree cards... this is one FUN stamp to play with!
Fantastic card! So graphic and elegant. Your sample makes me wnat to get that stamp. If only I had a store that carried Memory Box. I'll have to buy online. Great work!

How cute is that? How did you realize it needed to be tied down? You were right, but I might never have thought of it. Very clever.

Beverly - sometimes a design just doesn't 'sit right' for me. I look at it and know something about it is just wrong... so I'll play with different ideas until I stumble across something that solves the problem. The more I study design and the more I play, the better I get at this, but it's certainly trial and error for me!

So cute I had to rush to my stamp store. I also saw one where the circles were done in some kind of metallic look. Couldn't really figure it out. Do you have any ideas? Thanks.

Beverly - not sure, but I'm guessing the metallics were probably metallic papers... Memory Box has their Soiree line of metallics - it would be beautiful to use this same technique on metallic papers!
