Masculine Thank You Card
by Angie Cimbalo

2 20th close

Welcome, it's Angie here today with a masculine card using three different 3D embossing folders.  This card would be perfect for a handyman's thank you card or for any masculine thank you card you might need.  Here's a closer look:

2 20th close

First of all the frame, if you look closely is cut from a black card stock piece that was dry embossed with the "Gears" folder and then gold metallic paste was added to the raised edges.  Next I used the "Vintage Tray" die to cut the frame from that piece and also from a piece of white card stock.  I took the inside pieces and put them inside the "Vintage Tray" 3D embossing folder to get the woodgrain look and then inked each shape before paper piecing them into the openings of the black/gold frame.

The tools were cut using the dies that come with the" Toolbox" 3D embossing folder and then added them to the folder to dry emboss them.  I added a little gray ink to them and then added them to the card front, along with a "Thank You Foil Greetings" circle to finish the card.  Here's one last look:

Hope you like my card for today!  I really enjoyed creating it!  Thanks for stopping by!

Blooming Anemone Slimline by Jean Okimoto

P1033504

Combine the Blooming Anemone with a Poppystamps frame background on a floral thank you card.  Hi, Jean here with a slimline  for any occasion.  A basic design and just a few colors make it easy to re-create and personalize this for anyone who deserves a special thank you.

P1033520

Cut Blooming Anemone from a bright red 6x6 in the Blush Collection.  Color the stem and sepal with a black marker.  Cut the largest petal again.  Cut an extra set of petals from Black Glossy Paper (cardstock) to create leaves.  Cut the pointy stamens twice from Black Glossy Paper.

Cut about 1-½" of the Poppystamps Circling Frame from the bright red 6x6.  Cut black cardstock with the 7-¼" x 2" Slim Basic Rectangle Layers die.  Cut Kraft Woodgrain Paper with the 1-¼" wide Slim Basic Rectangle Layers die.

Cut a pearlescent moon from the white Vintage Pastel Mirror Pad 6x6 with the 1-¼" Circle Basics die.

P1033530

Attach the diecuts to a woodgrain kraft slimline card (3-⅝" x 8-½") - use foam tape for the tips of petals which are now leaves.

Add a simple thank you from the Thank You Foil Greetings Tabs.

Cut a piece of the gold Rainbow Reflections 6x6 with a portion of the Circling Frame to create shiny gold accent confetti.   Cut a slimline-sized piece of cardstock to protect the card front for mailing.

Thanks for visiting our blog...Happy Mother's Day to everyone celebrating on Sunday!

Chicks and Bunny Easter Card
by Angie Cimbalo

Main

Hello and welcome! I have a fun Easter card featuring the newly released Layered Chicks 94726 and Cute Layered Bunny 94727. I also used the Vintage Tray 3D Embossing Folder and Die EF1040 released last Christmas for my background. Here's a closer look at my card:

Close

I embossed two of the tray dies from white card stock and used the coordinating die on one of them. On that one I used the cut outside edge to frame the other embossed panel. I added dark brown ink to the frame before adhering it to the white tray.

Next I cut the critters and sentiment (Happy Easter Curled Script 95731) from white card stock and colored them with alcohol markers. I put the critters in the openings and then added the sentiment to the larger opening and finished it off with some Autumn jewels. Here's one last look:

I hope you like my Easter card for today. I just fell in love with those little critters when I say them and couldn't wait to use them on a card. Be sure to come back each day for more inspiration!

Thanks for stopping by!

Anemone Bird House
by Trina Pham

IMG_4946

Hello everyone.  It may be Valentine’s Day, but my card is not. 😂   I have a simple card with all the spring feels to share today using  Anemone Blooms and Elegant Anemone dies from the Anemone collection with the Woodgrain Bird House and Leaf Bunches  dies from the 2023 Christmas collection.

All pieces were die cut from white cardstock paper and ink blended with dye inks using blending brushes.  Wilted Violet and Stormy Sky distress inks (DI) were used for the anemone flowers, Black Soot DI was used for shading on the bird house and two gradient green color dye inks from Altenew were used for the leaf bunches.

IMG_4958

Trimmed a 3/8” strip from white woodgrain paper for the bird house post and added shading to it as well using Black Soot DI.  Lightly ink blended Milled Lavender DI to the bottom of an A2 size Bristol panel before assembling the card onto a white card base.  I was going to leave the card blank, but went digging in my bits bag and found this Poppy Stamp gold foil Modest Greetings 1 sentiment that works nicely for many occasions.

IMG_4959

Well, that does it for my card.  Get ready for a brand new release tomorrow.  Thank you for joining me today.  Have a wonderful day.

Cut white cardstock with the die from the Vintage Tray 3D Embossing Folder Set.  Cut the buds and tall blossom from the White Anemone Rub Ons.  It's a set of two rub on transfer sheets with beautiful floral and foliage images.  Leave a generous border around the designs.  Carefully remove the paper liner and tap the designs onto the white Vintage Tray rectangles.

The rub on set includes a wood craft burnishing stick to transfer the design. You'll also get perfect results using a diecut machine to press the design onto the cardstock - place the cardstock and rub on between two layers of printer paper and roll it through using the plates you'd use for diecutting.  Carefully remove the frosty plastic layer.

Cut a sheet from the Ocean Blue 6x6 Collection to 4-¼" x 5-½".  Spritz both sides with a light mist of water, then emboss it using the plate(s) required for your machine.  Air-dry it if it's still damp, then cut it with the Vintage Tray die. The Ocean Blue set includes several colors to complement the rub ons for custom-colored card fronts.

Attach the rub on rectangles to the blue rectangles.

Cut white cardstock with the Greetings Debut Script background die.  Cut the detailed top layer from the blue Glitzy Glitter Pad 6x6.  I love how the tiny dot for the "i" is attached as a drop-down section from the "t" - no tiny little dots here!

Cut a slightly darker Ocean Blue Collection 6x6 with the largest A2 Rectangle Frames die for a perfect fit and smooth edges.  Attach it to a top-folded white A2 card.

Attach the diecuts to the card - use foam tape for the greeting.  Add clear Christmas Fairy Dewdrops.  Cut an A2-sized piece of cardstock to protect the card front for mailing.

The White Anemone Rub Ons have a soft matte look to enhance your cards.  Use them in groups - or spotlight them individually.  Add one of the 8 new greetings from the collection...and your card is ready to go!

Love grows...on repurposed Lavender Bouquet stems in a winter garden.  A Woodgrain Heart background and bold plaid balance glittery red hearts and gold crystals.  Hi, Jean here with a Valentine design for your special guy.

Cut light kraft cardstock with Woodgrain Heart.  Cut a 1-½" x 5-½" strip of the Christmas Jolly 6x6 plaid.

Cut Lavender Bouquet from black cardstock -  trim the blossoms and about ¼" from the tops of the 4-stem piece shown on the right side here.  Trim the blossoms of the other stems.

Cut the larger heart - with the Love You Gallery Script die - from the dark red  Festive Glitter Pad 6x6.  Cut two groups of the small hearts with the die from the Heart Streamer Globe set.

Cut just the background of the "love" portion of the Sending Love Daily Script set from red cardstock.  Cut the detailed top layer from black cardstock -  save the delicate oval from the "o" and the little piece in the top section of the "e."  Pressure-embossing the background makes it easy to adhere the delicate top layer - it'll fit right into the debossed background.

Pressure-emboss the red background with the detailed die using the rubber embossing mat and plate(s) required for your machine.  Assemble the greeting - add the saved black pieces.

Attach everything to a recycled kraft A6 card (4-½" X 6-¼") - use foam tape for the greeting.  Add the slightly darker gold Autumn Fairy Crystals.  Cut an A6-sized piece of cardstock to protect the card front for mailing.

Thanks for visiting...keep warm, and have a great weekend!

Brown Bear Hugs by Jean Okimoto

Happy New Year!  We appreciate your support, creativity and inspiration throughout 2023. We're here to share more ideas, techniques and designs in 2024!

Send warm winter hugs with a friendly brown bear on a background of Vintage Tray diecuts.  Add a sparkly heart from Poppystamps.  Hi, Jean here with an early Valentine design - or a friendship card for someone who deserves a special hug.

P1029287 2

We're using extra Vintage Tray 3D Embossing Folder and Die Set offcuts from previous projects.  They're cut from the Poinsettia Plaid and Poinsettia Garland 6x6 packs.

Cut pale pink cardstock with the large rectangle section of the Vintage Tray die.  Spritz both sides of the rectangle with a light mist of water.  Place it in the matching section of the 3D embossing folder and run it through your machine using the required plate(s) to add a woodgrain plank texture.

Attach adhesive label paper or a sticker sheet to brown wool-blend felt and cut the base of the Layered Polar Bear.  It stabilizes the felt and keeps adhesives from saturating it.  Cut the other pieces from kraft cardstock.  Attach a scrap of black cardstock behind the eye and nose cutouts.

Cut the heart - from the Poppystamps Heart Jumble - from the pink  Delicate Pastel Glitter Pad 6x6.  Attach it to the bear - use foam tape on the right edge.

Glue two layers of white cardstock together and cut the Hugs Daily Script background.  Pressure-emboss it with the detailed overlay die using the rubber embossing mat and plate(s) required.  Cut pink cardstock with the detailed die - leave the little ovals for the "g" in the die until you're ready to attach them (they tend to get lost).  You'll have an extra set of pink letters - save it for another project.

Attach the diecuts to a white A6 card (4-½" x 6-¼") - use foam tape for the bear.  Add gold Autumn Fairy Crystals.  Cut an A6-sized piece of cardstock to protect the card front for mailing.

Thanks for visiting our blog...wishing you a year of good health, happiness and creativity!

Carved Wood Poinsettias
by Trina Pham

IMG_4092

Hello everyone.  Two more sleeps till Christmas and I have another Christmas card to share today. 😂  It’s a rustic masculine poinsettia card created with the Carved Wood technique using the Perfect Poinsettias 3D embossing folder (EF) from the current 2023 Christmas collection.  I saw this technique years ago, but this recent video HERE inspired me to finally give it a try.

Started with a white panel from my stash and three gradient brown color dye ink pads.  Scored the panel vertically at 1/2-inch intervals, then dragged the lightest color ink pad direct-to-paper down the length of the panel several times until satisfied with the faux woodgrain look.  BTW, the ink pads should be the felt type (like the distress inks) and not the foam ones.

IMG_4098

Spritz the back of the panel with water, then placed it into the EF on the flat side with the faux wood pattern facing up and ran it through the die cutting machine.  The image will be debossed, resulting in the reverse image being pushed in.  It’s barely visible in the photo below.

IMG_4094

So to reveal the “carved” image, repeated the direct-to-paper ink pad dragging step with the medium and darkest color ink pads.  Oops, I went a bit heavier handed than I would like.  Doesn’t it looked carved?

IMG_4095

The panel was then trimmed down slightly smaller than A2 size and matted onto dark brown cardstock.  Added the Merry Christmas Foil Greetings Rose Tab for a pop of color.

IMG_4096

Used the Poinsettia Stem die to die cut the poinsettia centers from gold mirror paper.  Assembled and mounted the card onto a white card base to finish.

IMG_4097
That does it for me this year.  Thank you for joining me today.  Have a happy holiday!  See you next year.

Woodgrain Mini Slimline Christmas Card
by Angie Cimbalo

3 close best

Hello and welcome, it's Angie here with a mini slimline card featuring woodgrain cardstock and other Memory Box Christmas goodies from the latest release.  Here's a closer look at my card:

3 close best

To make my card I first cut a piece of tan wood grain panel slightly smaller than my 3' by 6' card base, inked it with Distress Inks in shades of brown and then added it to the card front.  To get the really dark look, I took the ink pad directly to the paper and rubbed the color on.

I dry embossed the poinsettias on two pieces of white cardstock so I could have 3 cut flowers and used the coordinating dies from the Perfect Poinsettia's 3D embossing folder/die set (EF1037) to cut them out.  I also cut some leaves from the Leaf Bunches die set (94745) all from white card stock.  I used alcohol markers and colored pencils to color the leaves and centers of the poinsettias.  I also colored a little strip of cardstock with the same greens to place under the black Christmas Sentiment tab.  Here's a closer look at the details:

3 close best

Once I was happy with the arrangement of flowers and leaves I started adhering them to the card front, some with liquid glue and others with foam tape.  Lastly I added the sentiment and green strip to the top.  Here's one last look:

3 close best

I hope you like my card for today.  I've been using the same embossing folder for the last few cards I have posted but it's because I really want to show you how versatile it is and how many different looks you can get with the one folder and die set.  You can check out all the different designs you can create HERE.  There are also rub on transfers that coordinate with the set.  I was fortunate to get to teach a card class at my local scrapbook store and we featured this set to show how many different looks you can get with it.  Thanks so much for stopping by!  Come back each day for more inspiration from the design team!  Happy crafting my friends!
