Get Well Soon Loving Heart with Scallop Pinpoint Loving Heart Cutouts
by Vicki Finger

Hello everyone.  Vicki here today with a card that I seem to be needing a lot of these days; A Get Well Soon card.

I wanted to use some of my pretty spring papers from Memory Box to pull a get well card together.  I also want to layer them up so I pulled out my Scallop Pinpoint Loving Heart Cutout Dies because the shape is an exact match (Memory Box did that on purpose)  to the Get Well Soon Loving Heart Die.

To begin I selected one of the Spring Plaids from the Springtime Bouquet Paper Pack.  Then I selected 3 additional sheets of paper from the Cottage Stripes and Dots Paper Pack in coordinating colors to the plaid.  In this case, that was pastel blue stripe, pastel pink stripe, and pastel lavender stripe.

I stacked the 4 papers together and put a bit of low tack tape on each side to keep them lined up.  Next, I took a wide piece of low tack tape and aligned the 4 Scallop Pinpoint Loving Heart dies inside the other until I had all four of them centered.  First I cut the paid piece which would be my top layer.

Next, I removed the largest die and cut my Pastel Pink Paper with the three remaining dies, using the first cutout to make sure I had it aligned the same.   Next, I removed the Plaid Paper and another die then used the pink cutout to line up my dies in the same spot and run it through my die cut machine. I did this until all four layers of the patterned paper were cut with a heart in the center.  This gives you the stacked look that you see in the photo.  At the bottom layer, I put a scrap of cardstock behind the smallest heart, so it appears that you actually have 5 layers.  This is one reason that I chose the text weight of the patterned paper versus using thick cardstock.  All of my cardstock is at least #110, so it would have been a lot hard to cut that many layers.

For the Get Well Soon Loving Heart, I chose Gold Foiled cardstock.  I was also able to cut some really small hearts from the scraps of that gold paper to add to the font of the card.  I have a little group of dies that sits in a magnetic bowl on my desk that are all really tiny and I don't know the brand, but I love to use these little hearts on lots of cards, especially right now.

Because there are so many layers, be sure to use a heavyweight cardstock #110 or higher) for your card base.  If you don't, it will just keep falling flat.

You could also add foam tape between each layer, but because my card is actually going into the mailbox, I kept my layers flat.

You could make some beautiful Easter Cards in this style.  I just happened to need a Get Well Soon card today.  I hope my design gives you ideas for creating your own version of whatever card you need today.

Be Mine Card
by Donna Sledzik

IMG_0616

Hello everyone! Today I have one last Valentine's Day card for you.  It's a pretty simple design that you can make at the last minute.

I created this card by embossing white cardstock with the Pinpoint Leaf Plate die and adhered it to a red card base.

Next I created a blended background on white cardstock using Distress Oxide inks.  I die cut the Leafy Heart from that background and glued it to my card front.

I stamped the sentiment with Versa Ink and heat embossed it with red embossing powder. I trimmed the paper and glued it to a red cardstock mat. I used foam tape to adhere it to my card.

To finish the card I added a few clear epoxy dew drops.

I hope you have a great Valentine's Day!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Friendship
by Michelle Bala

13

Hello there! Michelle here. I created this card using Pinpoint Leaf Plate Die, and Friendship Floral Heart Clear Stamp Set.                                                         I embossed kraft cardstock with the metal plate than used some PrismaColor Pencils to shade in the leaves. I used shades PC934, 932, 938, 105, 992, 935, 912, 913.

14

I splattered some white and gold paint.  I used similar Copic colors to ink up some white cardstock in shades BG05, BG09; V12, V17; YG05, YG17.              I embossed the sentiments with gold embossing powder onto the Copic colored cardstock strips.

15

I trimmed the panel slightly smaller than 41/4 inches to allow a strip of black cardstock to show on the bottom and the white card base to show on top. Adhere the sentiments and scatter some sequins.

Thanks for taking a peek!

Add dimension to the background of the Scribble Rose Trio by pressure-embossing and heat-embossing it to a glossy finish.  Add a Verdant Leaf for contrast, a Double Stitch Happy Heart Cut Out layer and a quick greeting from the Big and Little Valentines set.

Hello, Jean Okimoto here with two techniques to extend the use of a favorite die from our 2020 Valentine's Collection.  I've used the Scribble Rose Trio for several cards here on the blog - and for classes at Impress.  Here's another technique to take advantage of this popular die set.

Cut the solid Scribble Rose Trio background from Petunia cardstock.  Pressure-emboss it with the detailed die.  Use a soft rubber brayer to ink the raised areas of the embossed pattern with VersaMark.  Heat-emboss it with detail clear powder.

Cut Verdant Leaf from Flintstone cardstock.

Cut the largest Double Stitch Happy Heart Cut Out from Romance cardstock.    Pressure-emboss it with the set's second-largest die.

Attach the diecuts to a side-folded white A-2 card.  Trim it with a corner rounding punch.

Stamp the greeting - from the Big and Little Valentines Clear Stamps Set - on a strip of Romance cardstock with Morning Mist VersaFine Clair.  Attach the greeting with foam tape.  Add silver gem stickers.

Memory Box Heart Bouquet 3D Embossing Folder
by Vicki Finger

Hi everyone!  I have a quick post for you today that features the Heart Bouquet 3D Embossing Folder.  I love, love, love this folder and I wanted to be able to show you a different way to use it.  I apologize in advance for the quality of the images.  The weather has not been cooperating at all for photographs.

This project uses Card Stock, Nuvo Dream Drops, and the gorgeous Heart Bouquet 3D Embossing Folder, the Love Airy Script, and one of the dies from the Champagne Heart Dies.  It is simply stunning by itself, but I wanted to create a jazzed-up version for you doing a technique that I developed not too long ago where I "paint" with Nuvo Drops onto the embossed parts of the card stock.

For whatever reason, I have found the consistency of the Nuvo Dream Drops to work the best for this technique.  The Regular drops seem a bit thicker and they don't level out as much as the Dream Drops which are all iridescent in color. I was hoping they would add some new colors to this year's offering, but so far that hasn't happened.  The six colors remain Cloud 9, Fairy Wings, Gold Luxe, Love Potion, Indigo Eclipse, and Dragon Scales.

This technique is very easy, but it does take some time and I would recommend practicing before you do a full-on project.  I love this folder, so I really wanted to use this technique.  Start by misting your cardstock with water only on the front and back to keep your paper from cracking and help get a very crisp design.  This folder works better with a heavier weight card stock.  I used 110# Cougar Super Smooth Digital White cardstock.

Once the cardstock is completely dry, I use a blending brush to go over it in a color from the same family.  This creates the darker shadows.   Once that is done and dry, I start painting with the very tip of the Dream Drops Bottle.  Since the drops are self-leveling, they kind of spread out a bit and show some of the leafy details as well as some of the flowers better, making it easier to paint.  The wreath is so pretty by itself, but this is a great way to focus on just it, and if you want more, you can add a die-cut or two, to the card as well.

Here are some more examples for you of the card done in aqua.

And also a few views of the pink one where I am not putting a sentiment on it as of yet.  I'm not sure who I'll send this to, so I want to hold off on that until I decide.

This card has quite a bit more details that have been painted, so I will want to keep the sentiment simple.  This is a quick post, but as I said, I hope you try out the technique.  I have some other ones I want to try as well, but it will be several weeks before I have time.  I apologize again that I just haven't had a very good light to work with for my photos.

I'll be gone until the end of the February,  but I'll be back at the end of the month with new projects for you.  See you then!

Splash brightly stenciled Drifting Hearts across a pink background and top them with the Hugs Loving Heart. It's a very basic design - just updated in glitter-embossed shades of pink, coral and orange.  Hi, Jean Okimoto here with a colorful card to warm a winter day.

MemoryBox HeartBouquet3DEmbossingFolder, MemoryBoxHugsLovingHeart, MemoryBoxDoubleStitchLovingHeartCutOut, HeartStencils, HandmadeValentines, HeartDiecuts, WordDiecuts, JeanOkimoto, ImagineCrafts, MementoLuxe, RadiantNeons, ImpressCardsAndCrafts, MBoss, MemoryBoxRectangleBasics

Brush a 6" x 4-½" rectangle of watercolor paper with a loose, watery layer of Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide.  Diecut the two largest hearts from the Double Stitch Loving Heart Cut Out set from watercolor paper.  Paint them with varying amounts of diluted Picked Raspberry too.  Dry the painted papers.

Stencil the Drifting Hearts with overlapping, random inks  - Rose Bud Memento Luxe and Radiant Neons in Electric Pink, Electric Orange and Electric Coral.  Work quickly so the inks don't dry - then emboss it with Iridescent Mboss from Imagine Crafts.  Trim the rectangle with the 5" x 3-¾" Rectangle Basics die and round the corners.

Cut Hugs Loving Heart from white and dark pink cardstock. Layer the diecuts - slightly offset - for dimension. Attach them to the two watercolored hearts.

Attach the diecuts to a white A-6 card.  Add dark coral gem stickers.

For a different look...use mixed shades of red cardstock instead of pink watercolored paper.  Stencil the Drifting Hearts with VersaMark and emboss it with detail clear powder.  Attach everything to a Kraft card and add silver gemstickers.

Thanks for visiting...see you next week!

Banded Heart Locket and Love Airy Script by Jean Okimoto

Attach a pair of the new Banded Heart Lockets to the Double Stitch Loving Heart Cut Outs on a Valentine for your special guy.  Cool, masculine grays and bright reds create a crisp contrast on today's card.

Hello, Jean Okimoto here with a simple design to start the workweek.  Change the colors and make it a shower, wedding or anniversary card too!

MemoryBoxLoveAiryScript, MemoryBoxDoubleStitchLovingHeartCutOut, MemoryBoxBandedHeartLocket, MemoryBoxBigAndLittleValentinesClearStamps, MemoryBoxDashingHoliday6x6Set, MemoryBoxDashingStripsAndDots6x6Set, JeanOkimoto, VersaFineClair, ImpressCardsAndCrafts, ValentineDiecuts, WordDiecuts, WideWashiTape, HeartDiecuts

Cut Banded Heart Locket from gray and white cardstock.  Cut two hearts with the Double Stitch Loving Heart Cut Out dies - 2.2" wide from red glittered cardstock and 3.1" wide from the Poppystamps Snowspeckle Wide Washi Tape attached to gray cardstock.  It's the perfect washi tape for snow,  confetti or white splattered dots - whatever you need!

Punch a ⅛" hole near the top of the large heart.  Attach the glittered heart to the large heart with doublestick tape.  Attach the white and gray Banded Heart Lockets with gold cord.  Curl the cord.

Pressure-emboss a folded white A-6 card (4-½" x 6-¼") with the 3.1" Double Stitch Loving Heart Cut Out.  It creates an outline on the front of the card - and frames the greeting on the inside.  Stamp "xoxo" - from the Big and Little Valentines Clear Stamps - with Tulip Red VersaFine Clair in the embossed heart inside the card.

Cut accent strips - ¾" x 3-½" of the gray plaid from the Dashing Holiday 6x6 set, ¾" x 4" of gray cardstock and ¾" x 3-¼" of the dark gray stripes from the Dashing Stripes and Dots 6x6 set.  Attach the hearts and strips to a white A-6 (4-½" x6-¼") card.

Here's an easy way to prep a self-adhesive greeting.  Diecut Love Airy Script from red cardstock - don't remove the diecut or the offcut.  Place three strips of ⅛" ScorTape or Couture Creations tape horizontally across the back of the diecut.   Run it through the machine again to cut the tape - leave it in the die again.  Flip it over onto the card and use a pokey tool to push the self-adhesive greeting onto the card.  The double cutting process makes it easier to cut completely thru the tape and its liner.  Pressing the delicate greeting directly onto the card keeps it intact, without any distortion or wonkiness.

Continuing with Stripes
by Laura Fulcher

IMG_2344

Greetings friends.  The other day I posted a striped hugs card.  While I was making that card, I made several cards using up my pink and red scraps of paper.  After all, if you are going to glue strips of paper together, you might as well make several cards at the same time.  Right?

For the first card today, I glued my strips of paper to cardstock first and then die cut through the strips at the same time.  Here is a close up:

IMG_2345

Next, I glued some vellum behind the heart shaped window and glued everything onto magenta cardstock.  To finish the card, I added a pink heart to the center, added a rhinestone and then stamped my sentiment.

IMG_2340

For the second card, I made two sets of striped paper.  The first was red and the second was pink.  I cut both using heart dies and then popped the pink heart up with foam tape on top of the red.  To finish the card, I stamped my sentiment, cut it out by hand and then popped it up onto the card as well.

I hope everyone is having a fantastic weekend.

Hello...
by Michelle Bala

20

Hello! Michelle here.  I've been itching to ink up the stamp set, Friendship Floral Heart!  I opted for one of the smaller floral cluster and used it to stamp the background. I shaded the flowers and colored the background with Copic Markers in shades R00, R21, R32, R43; RV10, RV02, RV04; YR24; YG11, YG61; BG96. I splattered some white and gold paint and stickles glitter glue.

20

I die cut Hello Banner Script Die, with a metallic adhesive backed paper I adhered to cardstock before cutting.  I inked up two strips of cardstock with the same Copic colors to match the flowers. I embossed the sentiments with rose gold embossing powder.

20

After I assembled the card I scattered some sequins. Thanks for stopping by for peek! Hope you are enjoying your weekend!
