Seashell Friendship Slimline Card by Jean Okimoto

P1018529

Celebrate a special friendship with a seashell slimline.  The Grand Tulip Shell - ink-blended and spritzed with gold - is a great design for slimlines.  Add textured Wood Grain Planks, a quick greeting and Fairy Gemstones.  Hi, Jean Okimoto here with a beachy summer design.

P1018560

I started with a stash scrap of ink-blended cardstock, then spritzed and splattered it with Imagine's Gold Sheer Shimmer Spritz.  Dry the ink, then diecut the cardstock with the Grand Tulip Shell background.  Cut the detailed white overlay from heavy white cardstock.

Cut Wood Grain Planks from heavy white cardstock - roll it through the machine lengthwise twice for best results.  Attach 5 of them to a white slimline card (3-⅝" x 8-½").

Cut the straight rope piece from the End of My Rope Set from heavy white cardstock.

Cut Hello Friend Posh Script from light and dark 6x6 sheet in the Ocean Blue Collection.

Here's a tip - cut the detailed overlay and leave it in the die.  Remove the tiny offcuts.  Attach several strips of lined doublestick tape and roll it through the machine again to cut the tape.  Leave the diecut in the die and carefully remove the liner, then press the sticky diecut firmly onto the solid background.  Use a piercing tool to remove the greeting from the die. Attach the pale lavender/blue Winter Fantasy Fairy Gemstones.  Cut a slimline-sized layer of cardstock to protect the card front for mailing.

Adventure Awaits
by Donna Sledzik

IMG_2064

Hello everyone!  Today I have another summer themed card for you.

I started by stamping the tiny fish on a white cardstock panel.  Next, I stamped the sentiment with black ink under the blue fish.

I used foam tape to adhere the panel to a white card base.

IMG_2066

I used white cardstock and dry embossed the fish using the new Ocean Fish 3D embossing folder and coordinating die to cut the fish. I colored the fish using the coordinating stencil and Distress Inks.  The ink colors I used were Carved Pumpkin and Mustard Seed.  I used a black marker for the fish eye and a white pen for around the eye then used foam tape to glue it to the card.

To finish the card, I glued some Clear Fairy Drops to look like bubbles.

That's it for today!  Have a great week!

Glossy Glittered Greetings by Jean Okimoto

P1018333

Here's a quick and easy way to add gloss+glitter - and attach - delicate diecuts.  We'll even create extra greetings for another card because we're using just the Twiggy Thank You offcuts here.  Hi, Jean Okimoto here with simple summer slimline for you.

Cut Twiggy Thank You on white cardstock.  Save the tall triangle in the A and the oval in the O.  Trim the greeting with the second-largest Wrapped Stitched Slim Rectangles die.

Cut a 5-½ " x 3" piece of smooth white cardstock.  Ink it with loose, overlapping layers of distress oxides.  Picked raspberry and abandoned coral were used here.  Dry the inks.  Cover the inked cardstock with Scor-tape (save the tape liner), then trim it  slightly larger than the greeting. Attach it behind the greeting.  Attach the saved pieces inside the A and O -  then brush Imagine Iridescent Glitter onto the exposed adhesive in the cutouts.  Tap the excess off the greeting, then heat-set it.

It'll be a bright, glossy, glittered greeting - and it's securely and completely attached!

Cut the small Ava Butterfly from the pink Vintage Pastel Mirror Pad sheet.  Cut several of the Intricate Mini Butterflies from the pink and coral sheets in the Vintage Pastel Mirror pad.

P1018347

Attach the diecuts to a white slimline card (3-⅝ x 8-½") - use foamdots for the big pink butterfly.

Add the copper-colored Autumn Fairy Jewels.

There it is...glittered, glossy, ready to be shared!

Seagrass Underwater Scene by Jean Okimoto

P1018254

Create a seagrass background for some Ocean Fish with the Waves 3D Embossing Folder.  Just rotate the embossed cardstock for a swirly, grassy underwater scene, then highlight the details with heat embossing.  Freestyle Hello from Poppystamps is perfect for a quick greeting. It looks like the small fish is the spokesperson leading the group today.  Hi, Jean Okimoto here with a summer slimline design for you.

Cut a 5-½" x 2-¾" strip of a teal 6x6 in the Fresh Aqua Collection.  Spritz both sides lightly with water, then emboss it with the Waves 3D Embossing Folder.  Place it on a hard, flat surface and brayer the raised areas with VersaMark - use a clean, well-inked inkpad.  Heat-emboss it with detail clear powder.

Here's a tip - I usually ink and/or heat-emboss both sides of the 3D-embossed cardstock just to see which side I prefer.  You'll be surprised at the difference!

P1018320

Diecut the fish - from the Ocean Fish 3D Embossing Folder and Cutting Dies Set - on heavy white cardstock.  Lightly spritz the fish, then place them (one at a time) in the folder and pressure-emboss them.  Stencil them with the coordinating Ocean Fish Stencils and Distress Oxides.  Colors used here are wild honey, mowed lawn, dried marigold, iced spruce, twisted citron and salvaged patina.  Dot the eyes with a marker.

Cut the Poppystamps Freestyle Hello from a mustard 6x6 in the Sunny Orange Collection and heavy white cardstock.

Another tip...cut the delicate top layer of the greeting - leave the diecut in the die.  Remove the little pieces in the e, l's and o.  Place a piece of lined doublestick tape behind the diecut (still in the die) and run it through the machine again to create a self-adhesive hello.  Keep it in the die - remove the tape liner and little oval offcuts.  Press it onto the mustard background and use a piercing tool to help release it from the die.

P1018294

Attach the diecuts to a white slimline card (3-⅝" x 8-½").  Add the amber jewels from the Autumn Fairy Crystals.  Cut a slimline-sized layer of cardstock to protect the card front for mailing.

Thanks for visiting our blog - have fun picking your favorite colors for the Ocean Fish!

Let's Shell-ebrate!
by Donna Sledzik

IMG_1949

Good morning everyone!  Today I have a fun and easy beach themed card.

I started by applying Distress Oxide Inks to my craft mat, misting them with water and then smooshing watercolor paper into inks.  I dried my paper in between applying more ink to get the color I liked.

IMG_1911

Next, I glued the background to a black cardstock mat and used foam tape to adhere this to a white card base.

I die cut the shell outline from white cardstock and the solid shell shape from vellum.  The outline was glued to the vellum die cut and adhered to the card.

I white heat embossed the sentiment on a strip of black cardstock and glued this onto the shell.

IMG_1950

To finish the card, I added some clear fairy drops to look like water droplets.

That's it for today!  Have a great day!

Say hello with the billowy, textured,  layered poppies from the Memory Box floral collection on a summer slimline.  Hi, Jean Okimoto here with a mix-and-match design in sunny yellows.

These watercolored blossoms are cut from inky sheets in my stash - they're colored with inks from the Melon Melody Kaleidacolor inkpad pressed onto an acrylic block.  Cut them with the Enchanting Poppy Stems, Graceful Poppy Stems and Sweet Poppy Stem dies.  Color the attached stems with a yellow-greenish marker.

Cut the loose stems and leaves from the Enchanting Poppy Stems set from a light green 6x6 in the Lush Green Collection.  Color the narrow leaf overlays with the marker too.

Cut the centers from the black 6x6 in the Rainbow Reflections Mirror Pad.

Assemble the flowers.

I used a stash scrap of ink-blended cardstock for the background - it's diecut with the 6-½" x 1-½" Wrapped Stitched Slim Rectangles die.

Attach the diecuts to a white slimline card (3-⅝" x 8-½") - use foamdots for the blossoms.

Stamp the greeting - from the Big and Little Reverse Words Clear Stamp Set - on a lime green 6x6 from the Lush Green Collection with Shady Lane VersaFine Clair.  Quickly heat-emboss it with detail clear powder.  Diecut it with the greeting strip die included in the stamp set.  Trim the short ends.  Attach it with foamdots.

Attach the largest Clear Fairy Drops.  Cut a slimline-sized rectangle of cardstock to protect the card front for mailing.

Enjoy the versatility of Memory Box dies by mixing, matching and layering the floral diecuts.  Diecut scraps of ink-blended or watercolored paper for loose, random inky petals.  Try this design in your favorite colors too!

Island Vacation Seascape by Jean Okimoto

P1018156

Tropical getaways are a popular theme this summer - and the Island Vacation Collection is the perfect mix of nautical and tropical designs.  Hi, Jean Okimoto here with a summer slimline ready for any occasion.

Cut the Grand Spiral Shell background from the smoother side of Open Studio Watercolor Paper.  Spray a light mist of water into the air and pull the diecut through the moisture to prep it for 3D embossing.  Repeat with the other side of the paper.  Pressure-emboss it with the Ocean Fish 3D Embossing Folder - with the smoother side of the paper facing the more debossed (sunken) side of the folder.   Leave the diecut in the die - it'll be used as a stencil.

Stencil it with Distress Oxides - abandoned coral, twisted citron and salvaged patina.  Dry the inks.  The combination of pressure embossing and stenciling thru the metal die adds extra dimension.  Pressure-embossing also makes it easier to layer the pieces - the detailed overlay settles right into the embossed design.

Cut the delicate Grand Spiral Shell from a white 6x6 in the Delicate Pastels Glitter Pad.

Cut the straight rope and the heavily-textured loopy rope from the white Delicate Pastels Glitter Pad sheet too.

Cut the fish - from the new Ocean Fish 3D Embossing Folder & Cutting Dies - from the turquoise 6x6 in the Rainbow Reflections Glitter Pad. Place the fish in the embossing folder and emboss it using the plate(s) required for your machine.

P1018177

Attach the diecuts to a white slimline card (3-⅝" x 8-½").  Add 3 of the biggest Clear Fairy Drops.  Cut a slimline-sized rectangle of cardstock to protect the card front for mailing

Fresh tropical pastels, glitter and mirror cardstock - and the Island Vacation Collection - make it easy to create happy, refreshing designs for summer sharing.  Thanks for visiting our blog!  Have a great weekend - see you next week!

Coral Reef Card
by Sara Cook

Hi everyone! I just love the new Ocean Fish stencils and 3D embossing folder with matching dies.   I am having so much fun coloring the different fish.  I could not resist but to make a coral reef scene card with all the dies and products.

1B9BAC12-B583-4ECC-8DE1-D259F21468A0_1_201_a

Background:

I watercolored the background using Distress Specialty Stamping Paper and Element inks Mermaid and Blue Lagoon.  I used wet on dry technique and a large paint brush and a wavy motion to add the ink.  Heavier, or darker, towards the bottom and lighter towards the top. Let Dry.

Ocean Fish:

**Note: make sure the stencil is the right side up by making sure the die matching the correct direction.  Stencil the angle fish widest section with bright yellow ink.  Blend the ink from the top and bottom to the center.  Line up the narrow angle fish section and ink blent with purple ink with the same technique.  Ink the fins first with the yellow ink and then the purple with being heavier near the body of the fish and later outwards.  Don't forget the little fin in the center of the body.  Die cut the fish.  Ink around the outside of the fish to cover up any white areas.  Secure the die cut in the 3D embossing folder with Washi tape and run through the die cutting machine.  Add black to the eye with a fine tip black marker.  Heat emboss with clear embossing powder.  This give the fish a "wet" look.  Repeat the same process for the other fish.  I used VersaFine Clair for coloring the fish for the bright colors and blend ability.  I used sponges but try using small blending brushes for blending in different colors.

FAD9F7F6-C454-4E12-BF6E-63C6D1147994_1_201_a

Coral Reef:

I die cut all the elements from heavy white card stock and ink blended each one with VersaFine Clair to match the fish, except the pink I used Fresh Ink Pink Lemonade.  For the rocks I used Coral Cottage craft die. I did cut out each side of the die and cut off the tops to create the shelf.  I kept the top portion of the die to use to full in the bottom.  Mask off the coral and ink blended with red and yellow in random round spots and then ink blended with grey and inking darker to the edges.  Ink one in pink and the other in coral color. Add Drewdrop glitter glue to the coral and let dry  I die cut all elements of the Sea Bottom Treasure craft die.  I die cut the starfish several times.  I colored the anger with grey then added bronze color Distress Crayon and Distress Age Patina.  The shells are inked with Distress ink Antique Linen and Tattered Rose.  The starfish are ink blended with different VersaFine Clair and added dots of a darker color using Paoco Paint pens.  Die cut the smaller die from the Cheerful Crab die set.  Color with a bright red ink pen and add glossy accents to top.  Die cut the rounded coral from Coral and Kelp Ribbon craft set and ink blend with pink.  Dot a yellow Posco Pen around the end.  Cut down the die cut to build up 2 other sets of coral.  Die cut the coral from the Bobble Coral Collage die set.  Color yellow/orange.  Add Drewdrop glitter glue and let dry.  Cut wood to create another coral.   Die cut the kelp and seagrass Deepwater Collage Die set and trim off the boarder.  Color green and then color the stem with a dark green Posco pen.  Trim down to different sized.  Add Glossy Accents to just the round part.

Assembly:

Glue the smaller rock to the bottom center of the card base. Adhere a couple of strips of paper on the back of the rocks toward the outersides and add to the sides of the card base on.  This leaves room to add elements behind the rocks. Now decorate the rocks with all the elements to create the coral reef.  Adhere the fish around in the water.  I doubled up some of the smaller fish and used foam tape to the back of the angelfish.  Adhere to a 43/4"x6"  black panel and adhere to a 6"x61/2" navy blue panel and then to a light blue card base measuring the same size. White heat emboss Seas the Day from Deep Blue Ocean stamp set to navy card and trim down and adhere to the card in the upper left hand corner with foam tape.

Inside:

White heat emboss wishing you oceans of Happiness from You Anchor Me stamp and die set along with Happy Birthday from the Deep Blue Ocean stamp and die set.  Stamp with Versa Mark the school of fish, seaweed and kelp from the Deep Blue Ocean stamp and die set.

Best Day Ever Card
by Donna Sledzik

IMG_1909

Hello everyone!  Today's card feature's new products from the June Island Vacation release.

To make the card, I started by using the Curling Waves Stencil and Blue Distress inks to create the background. I spattered the background with white ink and glued it to a kraft cardstock mat.  Then I used foam tape to adhere it to a white card base.

IMG_1905 (1)

Next, I used the Ocean Fish 3D embossing folder to dry emboss the fish on white cardstock, and used the coordinating dies to cut out the fish.

I used various Distress inks and a blender brush to color the fish.  I used a black pen to add the dot to the fish eyes.

The coral was die cut from white cardstock and colored with Distress inks.

I used foam tape and adhered the fish to the card.  Next I glued the coral die cuts in place and ripped a strip of kraft cardstock, inked it with Vintage Photo Distress ink and adhered it along the bottom of the card to look like a layer of sand.

IMG_1908

To finish the card, I stamped the sentiment in the upper left hand corner of the card and added some clear fairy drops.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Curled Waves Heart Hugs by Jean Okimoto

P1018126

Hi everyone - need a friendship card?   Rotate Curled Waves and pair them into swoopy hearts for a new look on a tall slimline. Jean Okimoto here with a simple design in soft shades of peach, gold and gray.  It's versatile too - switch to reds and pinks in February.

Attach Birch Press Design Shimmer Lines Wide Washi Tape to light peach cardstock.  Cut it with the dies from the Curled Waves 3D Embossing Folder and Cutting Dies set.

Cut three small Double Stitch Loving Heart Cut Outs from the gold sheet in the Vintage Pastel Mirror Pad.   Create swoopy, wonky hearts with pairs of the Curled Waves   - overlap the halves and attach them to the gold hearts.

P1018103

Tape a piece of gold cord behind each heart.  Attach the hearts to a pale gray slimline card (3-⅝" x 8-½") - use foam dots for the heart on the right.

Cut the delicate Big Hearts Posh Script from the light peach 6x6 in the Vintage Pastel Mirror Pad.  Leave it in the die and attach lined doublestick tape behind the diecut and run it through the machine to cut the tape layer.  Remove the tiny bits in the B, g and s.

Cut the solid Big Hugs background from the pale gray cardstock - and again from cardboard.  Attach the gray layer to the cardboard layer for dimension.  Press the  "self--adhesive" delicate diecut (still in the die) firmly onto the gray layer,

Arrange the gold cord and tape it to the card under the BI section.  Attach the greeting - use foam tape under the BI, H and s.

Cut two of the small Intricate Mini Butterflies from the pale peach sheet in the Delicate Pastel 6x6.

Curled Waves can be more than just waves - they can also be question marks if you ever need a card with questions marks.

Thanks for visiting...see you again on Friday!
