Merry Christmas Stencil Accents by Angie Cimbalo

Hello and welcome, it's Angie here today with a quick easy clean and simple holiday card featuring the new Holly Wreath stencil and the Merry Christmas Wave die.

I love stenciling, especially with pastes, but often I don't have time to let them dry as I need a card quickly.  So this is when I will use inks and ink blending tools with the stencil.  Often the look I get with just ink is just too flat for me, so I will take colored pencils and a white gel pen to add darker colors and highlights with the white pen.

Here's another look at my card:

If you look closely you can see that I added darker greens and turqoise pencil to the leaves and green areas and then I took a red watercolor marker and colored in the berries a dark red.  Lastly I took the white pen and added highlights to the areas across from the darkest spots.   

Next I cut the Merry Christmas sentiment from white card stock and colored the background piece with the same ink I used initally on the stencil.  This die is great because you get all the separate letters too that you can use on a separate card in the future!  Lastly, I added gold jewels around the card.  Here's one last look:

Let It Snow Globe Card by Sara Cook

Hi everyone.  I have a winter scene card inside a snow globe.  This is such a fun card to make.  

Background:

Use the Falling Snowflake Stencil to apply Distress Grit Paste Snowfall on a 5" x 7" navy blue card base. 

Globe:

Die cut the largest Snow Globe Bases from White Woodgrain paper.  Ink blend using Distress Oxide in Antique Linen, Vintage Photo and on the edges Walnut Stain.  Also use your finger to apply Walnut Stain to use the tops o the woodgrain paper.  Adhere foam tape to the back.  Die cut the matching Nestd Globes from white card stock and a 2nd time from a scrap white card stock that is only 1/3 tall as the globe.  Ink blend the full globe using Fresh Ink Silicone Blue than apply Distress Oxide Stormy Sky using a natural sponge to create depth.  Splatter with white ink.  Take the short globe and fussy cut a hill.  Apply Distress Texture Grit Paste Opaque with a palette knife all over the hill to create the look of snow.  Dry.  Adhere the snowy hill to the sky background, leaving 1/4 of inch without adhesive at the top of the hill.  Then adhere the globe base.

Scene:

Die cut the Slender Pine Trees 2 times from white card stock.  Ink blend using Distress Oxide Pine Needle and Rustic Wilderness.  Apply Distress Grit Paste Opaque with a palette knife to the branches, leaving blank areas.  Dry.  Die cut the smaller house from Birch Press Design's Little Town Cabins from white card stock.  Ink blend the solid background with Distress Oxide Squeezed Lemonade.  Ink blend the cabin with Distress Oxide Antique and Vintage Photo.  Apply Distress Grit Paste Opaque to the roof.  Dry.  Adhere together using glue.

Assembly:

Adhere the house to the center of the snow hill.  Fill around the house with the trees, creating depth with the larger in the back and smaller in the foreground.  Adhere the snow globe to the center of the card base using glue.  Die cut the Petite Poinsettia from a red paper from the Blush card stock and the holy leaves from the Stitchable Stocking die set from green paper from the Lush paper pad..  Lightly add the opaque grit paste to the tips of the leaves and let dry. Adhere the poinsettia together and a gold center. Adhere to the right side of the globe and tuck in the holy leaves.  White heat emboss LET IT snow sentiment from Holiday Wishes stamp set on the same navy blue as the card base.  Fussy cut out the sentiment and adhere to the center of the globe base with foam tape.

Snowflake Joy by Angie Cimbalo

Hello and welcome, it's Angie here today with a fun winter card featuring new release items from the latest 2024 Yuletide release!  Here's an up close look at all the textures and dies:

I used both kraft and white "Woodgrain Paper" for this card.  On the kraft I used the "Falling Snowflakes Stencil" with some white embossing paste to create the extra texture of the snowflakes.  After it dried I framed it by using 2 of the largerst dies from the "Fringed Scalloped Frame Set" cut from the white woodgrain paper.  I cut the pinecones twice from 2 shades of brown card stock and after putting them together I used 3 of them and 2 sets of the pine leaves that come in this same die set called "Pine Cone Duo."  The pine leaves were cut from the "Greenery" paper pack.  

I cut out the "Snowflake Joy" die from the same green and some white card stock and layered them, then put everything on the card with pop dots.  Finally I added jewels in pastel green from the "Pastel Jewels" pack and red jewels from the "Christmas Jewels" pack to simulate tiny berries.  Here is one last look:

Blooming Birthday Wishes by Jean Okimoto

 

 

Celebrate a summer birthday with the Delicate Fuchsia Trio and a bit of plaid.  Add a gold foil greeting tab and Bright Jewels - and your card is ready to send or share.  Hi, Jean here with a floral slimline design from our 2024 Fuchsia Collection.

Spritz both sides of watercolor paper with a light mist of water.  Pressure-emboss the smoother side with the new Delicate Fuchsia Trio - use the rubber embossing mat and plates required for your machine.  Diecut a stencil of the design from cardstock.  Place the stencil over the embossed design and stencil the petals with varying shades of violet ink.  Distress Oxide wilted violet and Radiant Neon Electric Purple were used here.  Stenciling over the embossed image leaves a narrow border uninked and defines the layers when the fuchsia is assembled.

Remove the stencil and sponge or brush Brilliance Victorian Violet onto the stamens - and Distress Oxide mowed lawn onto the remaining pieces.

Heat-set the inks.  Diecut all of the pieces.  Assemble the blossoms - refer to the envelope's illustration or scan the QR code for layering details.  Or mix and match the pieces like I did!

Cut the purple/violet/green Fuchsia Plaid with a portion of the 1-⅝" wide Slim Basic Rectangle Layers die.  Cut the lavender 6x6 from the Lagoon Collection with the ⅞" wide die.

Attach the diecuts to a white slimline card (3-⅝" x 8-½") - use foam tape for the leaf tips.  Add a Happy Birthday Foil Greetings White Circle Tab - use foam tape for the right side.

Add purple Bright Jewels.  Cut a slimline-sized piece of cardstock to protect the card front for mailing.

A New Release…The 2024 Fuchsia Collection by Jean Okimoto

Introducing our latest release...2024 Fuchsia!  It's a beautiful, versatile collection of garden-themed dies, 6x6 plaids and prints, embossing folders and rub-ons.  Buds, blossoms, branches, butterflies, bees, beetles and dragonflies - ready to create late spring and summer cards for every occasion.  Add the perfect greetings for thank-yous, friendship cards and celebrations.  Hi, Jean here with the first of many designs from this great collection.

Let's start with the fuchsia. Spritz both sides of watercolor paper with a light mist of water.  Pressure-emboss it with Little Fuchsia Flower Trio & Branch.  Use the die to cut a stencil from medium-weight cardstock.  Sponge, daub or brush the embossed designs with Distress Oxides - mowed lawn, flamingo kitsch and picked raspberry - and Charming Pink VersaFine Clair.  Heat-set the inks.  Diecut it - leave the pieces in the die to keep them organized.  Assemble the blossoms.

Attach ScorTape over a light green sheet from the Greenery 6x6 Pack.  Cut it with the Hello Breezy Script background.  Cut the detailed top layer from a medium green sheet from the Greenery pack - keep the diecut in the die but remove the tiny pieces inside the e, l's and o.  Press the detailed greeting firmly onto the adhesive-covered background.  Cover it with detail clear embossing powder,  tap off the excess, then heat-emboss it.  It'll be securely-attached, with a glossy background and perfectly centered!

Cut the light green 6x6 with the 2-¼" wide A2 Rectangle Frames die.  Cut the rectangle with the 1-¾" wide A2 Rectangle Frames die to create a simple framed background.

Cut the green, pink and white Fuchsia Plaid sheet with the  2-¾" wide A2 Rectangle Frames die.

Cut the small Azure Dragonflies from a green Graceful Garden Glitter Pad 6x6.  Cut it again from the lime green Rainbow Reflections 6x6.  Attach the glittered wings to the mirror cardstock - it's easier to "sandwich" the wings between the 2 mirror cardstock diecuts.  Save the extra diecuts for another project.

Attach the diecuts to a white A6 card (4-½" x 6-¼") - use foam tape for the dragonfly wing tips.  Add green Bright Jewels.  Cut an A6-sized piece of cardstock to protect the card front for mailing.

Hello everyone!  Today's card features stamps and stencils from the Spring Cheer release.

I started by die cutting the Vintage Tray Die from Gina K Designs masking magic paper.  I placed the mask on a white cardstock panel, and used a blending brush to apply light blue ink around the edges of the blocks.  This creates a nice shadow around the blocks.

I left the mask in place and stamped the Cheerful Flower with black ink.  I used a heat tool to dry the image before using the coordinating layering stencils to add color to the stamped image. I used dye inks and blending brushes for the coloring.  I followed the steps on the stencil guide to add color to the stamped image.

To add some texture to the panel, I inked the back side of the Altenew Grip Mat with white ink and stamped it across my panel.  

Next, I spattered the background with white and gold inks.  Once the inks were dry, I removed the mask from the paper. I trimmed it and glued it to a thin black cardstock mat.  This was glued to a pink cardstock mat and then adhered to a white card base.

I stamped and die cut the word kindness from white cardstock and glued it to the card.  Underneath the word I stamped the words "changes everything".

To finish the card I added some Fairy Drops for more texture, and that's it!

Fanciful, Whimsical Gladiola Wishes by Jean Okimoto

Fanciful Gladiola Stem's blossoms and Whimsical Gladiola's leaves create a floral birthday greeting for spring or summer celebrations.  Hi, Jean here with quick coloring technique for detailed designs.

Save time by stenciling the pieces before diecutting them.  Spritz the smoother side of watercolor paper with a light mist of water. Pressure-emboss it using the rubber embossing mat and plates required for your machine.  Diecut a stencil from cardstock.

Tape the stencil over the embossed designs and sponge or brush the petals and stems.  VersaFine Clair Verdant and Cheerful and Brilliance Sunflower Yellow inks were used here.  Mask the adjacent areas with a Post-It note to separate the colors.  Heat-set the inks, then diecut all of the pieces.  Pre-embossing makes it easier to color the raised areas - and to align the die over the pieces for diecutting later.  Trust me!

Sponge or brush Verdant ink onto smooth white cardstock and cut two small and one large leaf set from the Whinsical Gladiola.

Assemble the Fanciful Gladiola Stem.  The green stem partially covers the yellow stem for instant buds and dimension.  I followed some portions of the diagram - and rearranged some pieces for more color variation.

Glue two pieces of smooth white cardstock together and diecut it with the 3-¼" Circle Basics die.  Cut it again - slightly offset - with the 3" Circle Basics die.  Attach both pieces - offset again - to a top-folded white A2 card.

Attach the Fanciful Gladiola Stem and Whimsical Gladiola leaves.  Add a Happy Birthday White Circle Greeting Tab and gold Treasure Chest Gemstones.  Cut an A2-sized piece of cardstock to protect the card front for mailing.
