Happy Easter
by Michelle Bala

9

Hello there! Michelle here, sharing an Easter Slimline Card. I used a few of the newest products from the 2021 Spring Release

  • Happy Easter Posh Script Die
  • Bunny Face Die
  • Wrapped Stitched Slim Rectangles Die
  • Spring Plaid Slim Paper Pack
  • Vibrant Violet 6x6 Paper Pack

9

A traditional slimline measure 3 1/2 by 8 1/2, so I used the slimline stitched rectangles die slightly smaller than the card base and die cut the largest panel. The smallest slimline stitched rectangle die can be any size you choose. I chose a much smaller one so I could see more of the pattern paper.

*TIP: When I die cut pattern paper I always use the same die and cut an extra piece from a sturdier cardstock ( mine is white) and adhere them together.

I adhered the pattern paper panels to the card base with foam tape. I die cut the Happy Easter sentiment three times and adhered them together. Than adhere the sentiment to the center panel.

I die cut the Bunny Face and colored him with Copic Markers. I added a small twine bow. I adhered the bunny to the center panel with foam tape.

For a finishing touch I added some sequins.

Thanks for stopping by for a peek!

Hope you have a great week!

Have you entered our February Pretty Purples Challenge?

Here's a Spring Collection card with a mix of purples ranging from soft lavenders to bright violets, and everything in between.  Hi, happy weekend - Jean Okimoto here with a new collage die and two butterfly sets that just couldn't wait for warmer weather.

MemoryBoxSylvanButterfly, MemoryBoxGladeButterfly, MemoryBoxSlimDiagonalCollage, MemoryBoxJoyfulMomentsClearStampSet, MemoryBoxSpringtimeBouquetStripesAndDots, MemoryBoxFrostedGlitterPad, MemoryBoxCorneliaVioletWashiTape, JeanOkimoto, SlimlineCards, ButterflyDiecuts, ButterflyCards, CollageDiecuts, WashiTape, GlitterCardstock, ImpressCardsAndCrafts, StampsAndMemories

Cut an 8-⅝" x 7-¼" piece of white cardstock.  Prep the new Slim Diagonal Collage by rubbing it briskly with scrunched waxed paper to help release the little pieces.  Cut the cardstock with the Slim gDiagonal Collage.  Score and fold the cardstock at 3-⅝" for a slimline card.

Cut an 8-½" x 3-¼ piece of white cardstock.  Center it (temporarily) under the collage cutout and lightly pencil-mark the corners of the collage.  Attach Cornelia Violet 1" Washi Tape to cover slightly beyond the pencil marks.  Attach the rectangle behind the cardfront.

Cut the detailed Sylvan Buttterfly and Glade Butterfly from the Frosted Glitter Pad violet sheet.  Cut the solid Sylvan and Glade butterflies from scraps of ink-blended cardstock.

Stamp the greeting - from the new Joyful Moments Clear Stamp Set - on the pale lavender dotted Springtime Bouquet Stripes and Dots 6x6 sheet with Imagine Crafts Neon Purple.  Heat-set the ink.

Punch ¼" dots of the purple Frosted Glitter Pad sheet.  Attach the greeting, then add the butterflies using foamtape.

The Slim Diagonal Collage looks great over anything - tiny prints, solid colors, watercolors or abstract backgrounds.  It multi-tasks for embossing and stenciling too.

Rainbow Shaker Card
by Michelle Bala

37

Hello there! Michelle here, sharing a rainbow shaker card! I used the newest Spring 2021 supplies!

37

I created the card base, a  3 1/2 x 8 1/2  slimline style. I die cut the panel with the Slimline Basic Rectangle Die.

Center and secure the Arched Collage Die, die cut.  Trim a piece of clear acetate and secure behind the die cut arch.

Using the same Arched Collage Die, die cut each color of the rainbow. Save the extra cut outs for later projects.

Place each rainbow color into their perspective slot in the die cut panel.  Secure with washi tape.

Turn the panel upside down and add a layer of glue to each color arch.

Turn panel right side up and center it on top of card base. Press firmly on rainbow arches. After a minute, gently remove washi tape.

Stamp the sentiment in the top, right corner.   Turn die cut panel upside down and add a double layer of foam tape framing out the rainbow.

Scatter a mix of sequins on top of the rainbow. Secure the top, die cut panel over the sequins and rainbow.

Die cut and adhere the butterfly.

Enjoy shaking!

Happy Valentine's Day to everyone celebrating today!  Decisions, decisions...should I design another Valentine, a "let it snow," or a Bunny Face card for today's post?  Bunny Face won - it's too irresistible to wait for spring.  Hi, Jean Okimoto here with a sunny-bright card on a snowy Seattle weekend.

I used a ton of new Spring Collection designs and colors - they (amazingly) all fit onto one slimline card.  Dave's always designed great dies, stamps and 6x6's - now the introduction of 9 Color Wheel paper sets makes it even easier to create cards. They'll add bright splashes of color to my card kits for Impress and Stamps+Memories too.

We have Spring Plaid Slim papers too - 65#, double-sided, with gold highlights on one side.  Cut a sheet of it with the new Slim Basic Rectangle Layers 2.2" x 7.2" die.  It's great to have this slim set for perfect layers - wonky handcut rectangles are too obvious on slim cards!

Cut the Wooden Alpha letters from the Twilight Purple Color Wheel sheet - run the dies through the machine with the grain (lengthwise) for great results.

Cut Layered Daisies from the Sunny Orange (2 yellow shades) and Fresh Green Color Wheel sheets.

Cut Bunny Face from Open Studio Watercolor Paper.  Cut the ear sections from the pink Delicate Pastels Glitter Pad sheet.  Glue a tiny scrap of pink behind the nose section.  Cut the month/nose section again from the purple sheet and attach it behind the face for a slightly offset shadow effect.

Stamp the greeting - from the new Big and Little Reverse Words Clear Stamp and Die Set - on white with Neon Purple.  Emboss it with detail clear powder.  Cut it with the stamp set's die and trim it to 1-¼".

Attach everything to a white slimline card - use foamtape for the greeting.

Wishing You Happiness
by Michelle Bala

30

Hello there! Michelle here. I'm excited to be sharing some of the newest products for the Spring Line.

I used  All the Happiness clear stamp and die set. I paired the stamp up with Wrapped Stitched Slim Rectangles Die Set.  The cascading floral bouquet

works perfectly with this slimline die.
30

I stamped the bouquet with black ink and colored them Copic Markers.  I secured the coordinating die and ran it through my die cutting machine.

I die cut the two largest Wrapped Stitched Slim Rectangles. On the smaller die cut rectangle, I stamped the smaller bouquet in each corner. I used

antique linen distress ink.  I stamped the sentiment in the bottom right corner.
30

I adhered the largest slim line die cut the the card base. Than I layered the smaller slimline die cut and die cut bouquet with foam tape.

I adhered some gold sequins than finished the card with some gold paint splatter.

Thanks for stopping by for a peek!

Time to Celebrate by Donna Sledzik

IMG_2378

Hello everyone! Today's card features new products from the 2021 Memory Box release.

I love that Dave included more slimline dies in this release. It took me a while to warm up to the slimline card design, but now I like it!

To make this card, I started by die cutting one of the Wrapped Stitched Slim Rectangles from a piece of watercolor paper.  I used used Distress Oxide Inks to ink the background. Next I spritzed the background with plain water and dried the paper. Once the paper was dry I spattered it with white ink.

IMG_2370

I knew I wanted to use Wildflower and Daisy Stem dies for my card, so I die cut several from white cardstock.  Once I picked the die cuts I was using, I glued them to my background.

IMG_2371

I know my paper looks very wavy in this picture, but it was still wet. Once it was dry it flattered right out.

At this point, I felt it needed a little contrast so I die cut a few gray stems from the new solid color cardstock.

Next, I die cut the Sylvan Butterfly, the background is blue cardstock and the outline is dark gray. I glued only the center of the outline of the butterfly to the background butterfly. I glued black wire to the back of the butterfly for antennas and used foam tape to adhere it to my card.

IMG_2379

To finish the card, I stamped and white heat embossed my sentiment and added some gray rhinestones.

That's it for today!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!

Slimline Seed Stems and a Wrapped Stitched Rectangle by Jean Okimoto

Tall and slim (wishful thinking!) is easy with the new slimline dies from the 2021 Spring Collection.  The 5-piece set of Wrapped Stitched Slim Rectangles adds a casual, artsy look when you need a simple accent strip to balance the main design elements.  The 13-piece Slim Basic Rectangle Layers is great for cutting the new plaids - and anything else requiring the right proportions for slimline cards.

Hi, Jean Okimoto here with a slimline card featuring our newest 6x6 papers and the delicate Seed Stems set. Gardens may be resting - or covered in snow - right now, but we have a new collection of dies and Color Wheel cardstock 6x6's to create pretty floral cards for any occasion.

MemoryBoxSeedStems, MemoryBox2021SpringCollection, MemoryBoxOpenStudioWatercolorPaper, MemoryBoxWrappedStitchedSlimRectangles, MemoryBoxSlimBasicRectangleLayers, MemoryBoxMadrasPlaid, MemoryBoxColorWheel6x6, MemoryBoxFrostedGlitterPad, MemoryBoxBigAndLittleReverseWordsClearStampAndDieSet, JeanOkimoto, MemoryBoxCo, MemoryBoxDies, FlowerDies, PlaidPapers, DiecutFlowers, MementoLuxe, ImpressCardsAndCrafts, StampsAndMemories

Cut the 6x6 Madras Plaid Coral and Green sheet with the 6.4" x 1.4" Slim Basic Rectangle Layers die.  Cut it  vertically to include a bit of extra paper at the top edge near the punched hole.

Cut the coral sheet from the Berry Red 6x6 Color Wheel set with the smallest Wrapped Stitched Slim Rectangle die.

Cut a 1" x 4-½" strip of Open Studio Watercolor Paper - mine was from a stash of paper brayered and sponged with orange, pink and coral inks.

Cut the delicate, airy new Seed Stems from white cardstock.

Stamp the greeting - from the new Big and Little Reverse Words clear stamp and die set - on white cardstock with Morocco Memento Luxe.  Heat-set the ink, let it cool, then cut it with the greeting strip die included in the stamp set.  No wonky-trimming here!

Attach everything to a white slimline card (3-½" x 8-½") - use foamtape for the greeting.  Add ¼" dots punched from the yellow Graceful Garden Glitter Pad sheet. MemoryBoxSeedStems, MemoryBox2021SpringCollection, MemoryBoxOpenStudioWatercolorPaper, MemoryBoxWrappedStitchedSlimRectangles, MemoryBoxSlimBasicRectangleLayers, MemoryBoxMadrasPlaid, MemoryBoxColorWheel6x6, MemoryBoxFrostedGlitterPad, MemoryBoxBigAndLittleReverseWordsClearStampAndDieSet, JeanOkimoto, MemoryBoxCo, MemoryBoxDies, FlowerDies, PlaidPapers, DiecutFlowers, MementoLuxe, ImpressCardsAndCrafts, StampsAndMemories

Hope you're enjoying the 2021 Spring Collection designs we're sharing.  Be sure your favorite online stores and independent retailers have this great release!

Thanks for visiting - see you again on Sunday...

Plaid Hearts Slimline Valentine Card
by Angie Cimbalo

MB plain 1

Hello and welcome, it's Angie here today with 2 versions of a plaid heart slimline card, plus an extra gift tag.

The first version of the card, pictured above is more clean and simple with less detail and embellishment.  Here's how I made my card:

1)  First die cut a slimline panel 3.25" by 8.25" of white card stock with the "Pinpoint Heart Plate" die

2) Cut about 20 plaid hearts from the "Christmas Plaid" paper pack with smallest die in the "Double Stitched Heart Cut Out"  or the "Scallop Pinpoint Loving Heart Cut Out" die set, or both at the same time if you have both sets.

3)  Glue the hearts inside the pinpoint dots of each heart on the die cut "Pinpoint Heart Plate" white die cut panel.  Below you can see mine after I had glued all the hearts down and started trimming off the overhanging edges.

Prep 1

4)  After trimming off any hearts hanging off the edges, adhere that panel to a black panel that is 1/8" bigger for a mat.

5)  Add the paper-pieced panel with black mat to the card base.  (Card is 8.5" by 3.5")

6)  Heat emboss in white on black card stock, the sentiment words which are from "Berry Wreath" Christmas stamp set and attach to card front at an angle.  I love that you can use this set for much more than just Christmas by combing the separate words into exactly what you need!

7)  Using the "Sprinkle Heart Collage" die, I cut several of the smaller white hearts from the "Frosted Glitter" paper pack to use on the card front

That completes version one, the clean and simple one.  Below you can see the second version with extras on it.

MB with extras

If you prefer this second version, here's what I added:

9)  Cut thin strips of black and white glitter paper from the same paper pack to outline the top and bottom of the sentiment.  Also place more white hearts inside the some of the background plaid hearts.

There you have it!  Two versions of the same card!  Which do you like best?  Being the clean and simple gal that I am, I actually prefer the first one.

Now, while I had my supplies out, I went ahead and created this tag for a gift basket:

MB with extras

1)  Used the same heart die from "Scallop Pinpoint Loving Heart Cut Out" on a white A2 size panel, then backed the opening of each cut out heart with ombre shades of Distress Oxide inked card stock.  (Spun Sugar, Worn Lipstick, and Picked Raspberry) I put the ink direct to paper so this was really a quick way to get the colors behind the heart openings.

2)  Add the stamped words in black ink, from the same stamp set, "Berry Wreath," then cut the whole panel with a "Stitched Rectangle Layer" die.  I punched a small hole in the top left corner and ran some twine through to tie it on the basket.

This is a basket full of cards from a Facebook group that sends cards to show kindness to people who are in need.  I wanted to add something to the basket "with love" and these stamps and dies were perfect for making this tag!

I hope you enjoyed my projects for today!  I had so much fun creating these!  Be sure to come back tomorrow - you won't want to miss the blog posts this week - they will be amazing!   Thanks so much for stopping by!

Be Mine Slim Line Card by Sara Cook

I have a mixed media slim line card today.  A soft mixed media background, featuring the new Slim Pinpoint Heart Plate die.

Be mine full image

Background:

The card stock is a extra heavy white card stock.  Ink smoosh Distress Inks Picked Raspberry, Spun Sugar, and Shaded Lilac on a glass mat and spritz with water.  Tap the card in the inks, turning the card each time adding more ink.  Heat set the card and repeat.  Blended Spun Sugar and Wilted Violet on the dried card stock.  To mute the background smoosh Hero Arts Unicorn all over the card stock.  Heat set.  Take a large wet brush and brush water across the card to continue to blend colors together.  Heat set again.

Die cut the paper with the Slim Pinpoint Heart Plate die.

Be mine background

Randomly place the scripted stamped from the Peony Garden Corner set on a plastic sheet. Ink with Shaded Lilac Distress ink and randomly stamp the background card, turning the plastic sheet in-between impressions.  This should be random so the sentiment cannot be fully read.

Be mine word background

Focal Image:

Use the 2nd largest heart die from the double Stitch Loving Heart die set and cut out of a light purple card stock.  Center the die cut in the upper middle of the Slim Pinpoint Heart Plate die and secure in place.  Run it through the die cut.  Ink around the outside of the heart die cut with Shaded Lilac Distress ink.  Add double sided foam tape foam tape the the backside of the heart and then align on the ground. Stamp be mine from the Big and Little Valentines stamp set on white card stock with Shaded Lilac ink.  Cut out each word separately.  Swipe the side of the stamped image directly into Shaded Lilac ink to create a boarder.  Lightly blend Shaded Lilac on the stamped image to tone down the white background.  Glue in the center of the heart.

Be mine heart

Sentiment:

From Big and Little Valentines stamp happy Valentine's Day in Picked Raspberry Distress Ink on while card stock. Cut each word out.  Make the boarder the same way as the be mine words.  Glue on the background.  Too high light the sentiments take a white gel pen and outline around the paper.

Card Base

Cut 2 pieces of white card stock to 3 3/4"x8 3/4".  Score 1/2" from top of card and fold.  This will be the bottom base.  Add g to just the 1/2" scored section of the bottom base and place the top card base on top.  Then glue the background card on the top card centering for a white boarder. To embellish die cut Scribble Leafy Branch Outline die from white card stock and Scribble Leafy Branch background from Vellum.  Arrange 3 pcs at the bottom right of the heart and 2 pcs at the top left of the heart.
