Happy 2015

Good Morning Marnie here and I wan to with you The Happiest New Year!  Did everyone PARTY all Night Long?  We had a lovely time with Family and I ate way too much junk food which is our tradition.  But oh my it was yummy.  I have a bit of salt overload today though need to drink lots of water.    I'm here with a Memory Box Celebration Card today.

Here is a little bit of FUN for you all.  First on Kraft cardstock, with the Snowfall Stamp I stamped VersaMark all around the edges with the little dots and embossed with the Imagine Crafts Black Embossing Powder.  This did leave a bit of a blank in the middle but I just punched it out with a circle.  Then I foam taped the piece onto a Black cardstock mat.  In the center I cut out the Urban Numbers from Gold Mirror Card and added a bit of Diamond Stickles around them.  They are so much more glittery in person it's hard to capture.  The corner bow was also cut out of the Gold Mirror Card and added on top.  And lastly it was all layered onto Gold and then onto a Kraft Card.  Pretty and Simple for the New Year.   So Modern!

Many cultures believe that anything given on New Year, in the shape of a ring is good luck, because it symbolizes "coming full circle".
Want to see a card using a wreath for New year?

Visit the Spanish blog: "A crear se dijo!"

and did you know that In Spain and Spanish speaking countries it is a ritual on New year's eve to eat twelve grapes at midnight and have 12 sprigs of wheat inserted on a glass of rice, sugar and some coins?
The tradition is meant to secure twelve happy months in the coming year with food, money and prosperity

And at the French blog : "Un brin De Créativité"

I have a third card for your inspiration as well...
remember to use "Google translate" if your language skills are rusty!!! :)

Thank you for the visit...

and for your comments

wishing you a wonderful 2015!!!

Pam here with a weather card of sorts! haha! It looks cold but it's full of warm wishes to you and yours for a happy 2015!

I used three Memory Box snowflake dies, Twirling Snowflake, Normandy Snowflake, Lindeman Snowflake, a sprinkle of clear sequins and a sentiment on a fishtail banner I made with the paper trimmer and scissors.

Ringing in the New Year

New Year Greetings!!!These cards were an exercise in how to use a die that was too big for the small scraps of paper I had.  I decided I wanted to go with the theme of ringing in the new year.  The only bells I had were the Gleaming Bells die no. 98949.  The silver mirror paper I wanted to use was cut to bookmark size.  So I ran the bells through the die cutting machine three times and then cobbled them together with glue dots to get the look I was after.  Don't be afraid to cut apart your die cuts and rearrange them to fit your card design!

These are the dies I used:

I used black cardstock and silver mirror paper and Dove Gray notecards.

And these are the finished cards:

I just love the Party Music coming out of the bell...I just tucked the G Clef end of the music staff into the bell and taped it in place on the back.

My hope for you in the New Year is that you have plenty of time to create and lots of Memory Box dies, stencils and stamps to play with (as well as Poppystamps and Open Studio products, too)!

Happy Crafting!

New Year's Greetings

P1230093

Need a quick New Year's card?  Here's an idea - diecut a trio of posies and use them 'as-is,' without spiraling them into little flowers.  It's a design that would also be great for a birthday, promotion or graduation card.  Jean Okimoto here this busy, wintery weekend - let's get started on this quick card.

P1230096

Memory Box Products

  • Scalloped Posie Die 98269
  • Small Pinwheel Posie Die 98271
  • Parker Number Dies Set 98365
  • Tinsel Ropes Die 98851
  • Dove Gray Notecard
  • Key Lime Envelope

Cut the posies from gold mirror, lime and teal silk cardstock.  The teal looks very blue here  - but trust me, it's teal.  Cut the numbers from silver glittered craft foam.

Cut Tinsel Ropes from gold mirror cardstock and trim then into individuial 'starbursts.'

Attach everything to a Dove Gray Notecard. Coordinate your card with a matching Key Lime Envelope.

Thanks for stopping by during your busy weekend.  Hope you'll return for another card this evening.
