Wishing You JOY for the New Year
by Anne Thompson

As I was thinking about this post and what kind of a card I might make, it began to snow.   And it has snowed most of the day though it hasn't accumulated very much.  So of course I had to use the Snow Flurries Stencil!

IMG_2727 (1)

I started with the last piece of card stock I had left in my FRESH AQUA SP1004 paper pad.  I used the SNOW FLURRIES STENCIL 88626 and my Craft Decor Chalk Writer to make the snowflakes and set them with the heat gun.  I trimmed that piece to 4 X 5 1/4 and added it to the front of a top fold note card.

IMG_2720 (1)

I die cut the WINTER TREE ARCH 94735 using one of the green plaid papers from WOODSY PLAID PP1018 and then cut it again from white card stock.  I layered the white image on top of the plaid, offset just a bit.  I added that to the front of the note card.

IMG_2721 (1)

I used scraps of the plaid and the white card stock to cut out the PINE TREE GROVE 94736.  I layered those with the plaid underneath the white image, offset a bit, and added those trees to the lower left edge of the Winter Tree Arch on the note card.

IMG_2723 (1)

I cut BRILLIANT JOY 94759 background twice from another scrap of the green plaid paper and glued those two layers together.  I cut the detailed JOY twice from white card stock, glued them together, and then glued the letters onto the background.  I added the sentiment to the card front overlapping the pine trees a bit.

On this New Year's Eve I wish you all a joy-filled year to come, one with lots of love and laughter, good friends and good health, and plenty of time for crafting!  Happy 2024!

Snowy Happy New Year

Main

Hello and welcome, it's Angie here today with a snow filled Happy New Year card!  This time of year is very special for my family as we have several family birthdays during the last week of every year - it's time to celebrate!

To make my card I first took a piece of red cardstock and the new "Snow Flurries stencil" and used some white embossing paste with it to create the falling snow background.  Here's a look at that step.

Process

Once it dried, I added thin strips of white glitter paper to the edges.  Next I cut the 2 snowflake dies from the "Aurora" snowflake die set from the same white glitter paper.  The paper is from the "Delicate Pastel Glitter Paper" pad.

I also cut 3 more of the snowflake background from white cardstock and glued them behind the glitter one.  I added the glitter top layer of snowflake to the glitter stack and then popped it up on the card front.  I heat embossed the sentiment from clear stamp set called "Sweet Christmas," onto black cardstock and then trimmed it to a small rectangle.  To finish my card I added lots of "Christmas Jewels" to the snowflake and the corners of the sentiment.

Here's one last look:

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season and wish you the happiest of new years!  Welcome 2024!

Glitter Spread the Cheer
by Angie Cimbalo

Hello and welcome!  I'm up on the Memory Box blog with this fun sparkly card using the "Curled Holly Branch Die", the "Stunning Mandala" 3D embossing folder, some fairy gems, heat embossing and some gorgeous blue glitter paper.  Here's a closer look:

Don't you just love the depth of that gorgeous Memory Box glitter paper?

To make my card

1)  I first inked the debossed side of the Mandala 3D embossing folder.

2)  I die cut a piece of dark blue card stock from the "Ocean Blue" paper pad with a "Wrapped Stitched" rectangle die.

3)  I die cut a piece of blue "Twinkling Jewel" glitter paper with a smaller "Wrapped Stitched" rectangle die.

4)  I added both rectangles to the embossed panel and then stamped the sentiment from "Festive Christmas Greetings" on white card stock with black ink and heat embossed it in clear embossing powder.

5)  I cut the sentiment into a thin strip and then I die cut the "Curled Holly Branch" die from white card and added it to the glitter paper.

6)  I added some Christmas Fairy Jewels to the berries and then added the sentiment strip to the bottom.

7)  I added the panel to a card base and my card was complete!

Here's one last look at my card:

I I hope you enjoy my card for today, it was one of my favorite Christmas card that I sent out this year!
Thanks so much for stopping by and be sure to come back tomorrow for more design team inspiration.

Flower Die Fireworks New Years Card
by Sara Cook

I hope everyone had a good holiday weekend.  It is time for the New Years celebrations next.  I have a New Years card design using the Seed Stem die as fireworks.  Memory Box dies are so versatile, making them my favorite. The Bennet Alphabet die set makes it easy to create your own sentiment.

FDDF1158-CEEA-44BF-BFD4-0517D60D150C_1_201_a

Background:

Cut black card stock to 4"x51/4" and emboss using the Ringadings 3D embossing folder.  Center it in the folder and hold in place with temporary tape.  Splatter with metallic silver and blue paint.  I used Gansai Tambi Gem and Starry water color sets.

Fireworks:

Die cut the top of the Seed Stems die from silver and blue glitter paper from the Glitzy Glitter Pad.  Die cut 2 silver and 1 blue.  Trim off the stem.  Turn the die cut upside down and it looks like firework.

Sentiment:

Die cut "happy new year" from the same silver and blue glitter paper as the fireworks using the Banner Alphabet die set.

Assembly:

Cut a A2 panel from the same blue glitter paper and adhere to a A2 card base.  Adhere the embossed background panel in the center.  Adhere the fireworks, upside down Seed Stems, with just tape or glue in the center of the due cut, at the top center of the card.  Arrange the die cut letter in the lower half of the card to spell happy new year.

New Year’s Shaker
by Trina Pham

DB8250CD-6CD4-44E1-BAE3-1C190FB4A755

Hello and happy Boxing Day!  Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas.   Now that Christmas is over, my card today focuses on the next big celebration.  And since the edge-to-edge or infinity or pocket or frameless or flat shaker card (yes, it is known by all these names!) is so popular right now, I thought they pair well together.

3 things come to mind when I think of new year’s - glitz, glam and gold! 😉  Started by creating a golden bokeh background on watercolor paper.  Using the wet-on-wet technique, applied clean water to the entire watercolor panel, then randomly dropped in various colours of yellow
from my Gansai Tambi" watercolor paints.  Once dried, used DIY circle stencils from my stash to add white pigment ink and white gouache paint with a sponge dauber through these stencils.   Trimmed the panel down to A2 size and spritz with a shimmer spray for some sparkle.

B0614BD0-81FA-45C4-B1F3-89328EDAF2C4

Next, a piece of clear plastic was trimmed to slightly larger than A2 size.   Added strong double-sided tape along the four sides on the back of the panel.   Remove the release paper from three sides and fold the plastic over and secure.  This will create a pocket with the opening on one end.  Add in the shaker bits , then close off the final side.

850F03AC-C850-4013-A2DB-9C4DD34C5A1D

Mounted the shaker panel to a white card base.   Die cut the letters from gold glitter paper, then adhered on top of the plastic to finish.

Thank you for joining me today.  Have a safe and happy new year!  See you next year!

Shiny Foil Pinpoint Burst and Bubble Circles to Celebrate the New Year
by Anne Thompson

I spent some time going through my Memory Box supplies to find dies I could use to create some cards for the New Year, something that looked celebratory.  I decided to use the PINPOINT BURST PLATE 94514 cut from foil paper as the background for some BUBBLE CIRCLES 94439.

Card One

IMG_2963-ink

I used silvery foil from the POLISHED FOIL PACK FP1001 and used the full size of the Pinpoint Burst Plate to cover the front of a white A2 notecard.  I added Bubble Circles cut from a green plaid from the CHRISTMAS PLAID  6X6 pad PP1009.  I'm still looking for my CELEBRATE CURSIVE SCRIPT die 94393 which I know is here somewhere and will be the perfect sentiment to add to the front of this card.

Card Two

IMG_2965-ink

For this one I trimmed a little bit off each edge of the blue foil Pinpoint Burst design to expose a border of the white notecard.  I added silver foil Bubble Circles.  I also put a single silver foil candle in the center of the Burst using the TALL BIRTHDAY CANDLES 94395 die.

I made two more similar cards and found a discontinued clear stamp set from Poppystamps that I cut apart to make the two sentiments.

Happy New Year!  I'm sure we are all looking forward to whatever 2021 has in store for us!

Happy Crafting!

by Anne Thompson

I'm loving this newest bunch of dies and stamp sets and getting a head start on making my holiday cards.  Today I'm featuring the COUNTRYSIDE FENCE FRAME 94034 and the PEACE CHESHIRE SCRIPT 94017 on cards I'm calling "Peace in the Country".

Here are the dies:

IMG_0594

And here is the first card:  white on white on white...

IMG_0610

This is a top-folded notecard, 4 1/4" square.  After I die cut the Countryside Fence Frame from white cardstock, I used wide Scor-Tape on the back of the three frames to keep them together.  I used an embossing folder and a scrap of white cardstock to make the snowy panel that I trimmed to fit inside the window behind the fence.  I die cut the Peace Cheshire Script three times and layered them together with a glue pen before gluing it to the snowy hill.  I used wide foam tape on the back to pop this panel onto the notecard.  Simple, elegant, and my first ever all-white card!

Now for the same thing but different:

IMG_0612

This time I cut everything from white cardstock and from a warm medium brown cardstock.

 IMG_0595

I kept the middle brown frame (the one without dots) and snipped off the brown fence and the hill from the larger die cut.  I kept the white frame with the hill and fence and the outermost white frame.  I cut "peace" twice from white cardstock and once from brown and layered them with brown on the bottom and showing just a bit for a shadow.

I added the brown fence behind the white one, offset a bit to look like a snow on a wooden fence.  Then I added the brown frame and then the largest white frame.  I used Scor-Tape on the back of the frames to hold them in place.

IMG_0597

The next step was to add the embossed snowy panel behind the fence in the center frame. IMG_0600

I selected a white A2 notecard and added a panel of brown dot paper cut 4" X 5 1/4".   I adhered the framed piece to the bottom of the panel using dimensional foam tape.  I then added "peace" above that using a glue pen.

IMG_0607

And because I got carried away and couldn't stop playing with these dies, how about two more square cards with red accents.

IMG_0687

And here's one where the sky area is a blue watercolor panel that I'd sprinkled with salt while it was very wet.

IMG_0688

Five cards done for this coming holiday season!  These cards will work for Hanukkah, Winter Solstice, Christmas, or the New Year, and the design will also make a great guy card to send anytime this winter.  And because I live out in the country, this may be the card design I send the most this December.

Remember to leave me a comment and you could be the lucky winner of the COUNTRYSIDE FENCE FRAME!  Happy Crafting!

Happy New Year 2018
by Jenny Griffiths

Welcome Memory Box Friends and Happy New Year 2018

Another year has whizzed by and in this time, Memory Box has brought us so many fresh and exciting dies and stamps to inspire our creations.  I planned to name my favorites here but my list grew and I realized there were too many to recap...and there are so many more on the way.  Can't wait for you to see what is coming soon.   2018 is going to be a stellar year!

Looking back over my Memory Box stamps and dies I selected a few favorites --some new, some older and some in-beween.  You may just have these in your stash already so here's a suggestion to create a New Year's card...quick, it's almost here!

IMG_0309 copy

The Pinpoint Double Frame is a two-parter.  The inner rectangle cuts out completely and will fit snugly back in place but I wanted a little black background to peek through so I ever-so-slightly trimmed the inner rectangle piece smaller.  After piecing the sentiment together to read, "wishing you a happy" I stamped it on the trimmed rectangular panel and added the gold mirror numbers 2018.

IMG_0308 copy

The white panel (minus the center) was covered with foam mounting tape for a little "lift" and adhered to the black layer.

Next, the shiny Tall Pine and Small Quite Deer silhouette were added on the right side.

I can truthfully say the most difficult part of this card was photographing it without catching my own reflection in that shiny gold paper!  (My husband was laughing at me and my acrobatics as I was photographing the card--glad I could amuse you Sweetie.)

Thank you for stopping by today!

May you have a truly wonderful year-end season and look forward to 2018 with peace, hope and creativity in your heart.

Cut white cardstock with the 2" x 3-¼ Rectrangle Basics die.  Cut it with a portion of the Bubble Burst die.  Attach a slightly smaller rectangle of double-stick tape or laminating film behind the diecut.  Brush ultra-fine gold glitter onto the adhesive in the open areas.

Cut pale coral cardstock with the  2-¼" x 3-½" Rectangle Basics die.  Attach it behind the glittered Bubble Burst.

Cut three ¾" wide accent strips - 4-¾" long of gray cardstock, 3-½"  long of pale pink glittered cardstock and 2-½" long of pale coral cardstock.

Cut the larger cocktail glasses from light gold, gold and coral glittered cardstock.  Cut six more cocktail glasses from cardboard scraps and attach two behind each glittered glass for dimension.

Attach the diecuts to a top-folded 5-½" square card of textured white cardstock.  Attach a mini-calendar.  Add silver gem stickers.  These little calendars are from Impress.

Watercolor a Memory Box and Open Studio Calendar
by Jean Okimoto

MemoryBoxChandraStem-MemoryBoxDelicateFlight-OpenStudioPinpointRectangleLayers-OpenStudioStitchedHeartLayers-JeanOkimoto-ImagineCrafts-ImpressCardsandCrafts

Gather your favorite Memory Box and Open Studio dies and stamps, Peerless Watercolors and Imagine Crafts Inkpads and create a colorful calendar to welcome 2016!  Jean Okimoto here this holiday weekend with a trio of calendar pages for you.  The little calendars are from Impress.

MemoryBoxChandraStem-OpenStudioPinpointRectangleLayers-JeanOkimoto

Cut watercolor paper with the approximately 3-¾" x 4-¾" Open Studio Pinpoint Rectangle Layers die.  Paint the background with Peerless Watercolors.  Cut Chandra Stem from silver glitter craft foam, turquoise vellum and gold mirror cardstock.  Attach gold, silver and turquoise sequins.

OpenStudioStitchedHeartLayers-OpenStudioPinpointRectangleLayers-JeanOkimoto

Paint the background with Peerless Watercolors, then cut it with the approximately 3" x 4" Pinpoint Rectangle Layers die.   Cut the Open Studio Stitched Heart Layers from white vellum and iridescent vellum.  Attach silver and clear sequins.

MemoryBoxDelicateFlight-MemoryBoxSpringtimeBunnies-OpenStudioPinpointRectangleLayers-JeanOkimoto

Stamp Delicate Flight with VersaFine Onyx Black and emboss it with detail clear powder.  Paint it with Peerless Watercolors.  Daub the background with Brilliance Pearlescent Lime.  Attach adhesive label paper to white felt and diecut Springtime Bunnies.  The adhesive paper stabilizes the felt and prevents liquid adhesives from soaking through the felt.  Attach clear and pearlescent lavender sequins.

Combine these great dies, stamps and beautiful colors and create a calendar to brighten each day of the New Year.  Display them on a bulletin board, set them on an easel - or showcase them like little works of art on card holders from Birch Press Design.

Thanks for stopping by - I'll be back with the April, May and June designs on Sunday.
