Embossed Stocking
by Trina Pham

IMG_8042

Hello everyone.  Christmas is in full swing, so I have another Christmas card to share today featuring products from this year’s 2024 Yuletide collection.

Started by dry embossing a Bristol panel with the Winter Knit 3D embossing folder (EF).  Next, a DIY stencil was die cut from masking paper using Stitchable Stocking die.  Adhered the stencil to the embossed panel then ink blended Lumberjack Plaid and Black Soot distress inks (DI) through the stencil.  To bring out the pattern, sanded the raised areas with a sanding block.

IMG_8043

Die cut the cuff and toe patch from white glitter paper next.  To cover their stitching holes (since I’m not doing any stitching), traced them onto white paper, fussy cut out and stacked behind their glitter pieces.  The presents were die cut from red Blush and gold Rainbow Reflection Mirror papers.  Joy was also die cut from the same gold mirror paper.  Die cut the pine branches from Bristol paper and left them as is.  Assembled the card onto a white card base to finish.

IMG_8044

That does it for my card.  Thank you for joining me.  Have a wonderful day.

New Happy Goose (on the left) and Bundled Up Goose send Christmas greetings!  The scattered tree background is from the new Nutmeg Forest 6x6 set of fall and winter prints.  Hi, Jean here with another layered felt design featuring our holiday collections.

MemoryBoxBundledUpGoose, MemoryBox HappyGoose, MemoryBoxRectangleBasics, MemoryBoxCircleBasics, MemoryBoxRainbowReflections6x6, MemoryBoxNutmegForest6x6, MemoryBoxSunrise6x6Collection, MemoryBoxChristmasFairyCrystals, MemoryBoxMerry ChristmasFoilGreetingsWhiteCircleTabs, JeanOkimoto, Cardmaking, Papercrafting, CardDesign, HolidayCards, Diecutting, Diecut cards, HolidayCardmaking

Attach adhesive label paper to white, bright red and turquoise wool-blend felt.  The paper backing stabilizes the felt and keeps adhesives from saturating it.  Cut Bundled Up Goose and Happy Goose.  Cut the beak and feet sections from an orange 6x6 in the Sunrise Collection.  Color the eye areas with a black marker.  Attach the beak diecuts behind their heads.

Cut the hats from the red and turquoise wool-blend felt.  Bundled Up Goose's hat has a pouf too - but it's just a simple pouf-less stocking cap here.

Cut Bundled Up Goose's wings from pale gray cardstock.  Ink it with a light layer of Morning Mist VersaFine Clair to highlight the details.

Cut the scarves from the Bundled Up Goose set from red and turquoise Rainbow Reflections Mirror Cardstock 6x6's.  Cut the turquoise 6x6 with the 1-¼" Circle Basics die.  Layer it behind a Merry Christmas Foil Greetings White Circle Tab for dimension and contrast.

Cut the Christmas tree print from the Nutmeg Forest 6x6 set with the 3-¼" x 4-½" Rectangle Basics die.

Attach the diecuts to a natural A6 card (4-½" x 6-¼") - use foam tape for the top of the hats and the ends of the scarves.  Cut an A6-sized piece of cardstock to protect the card front for mailing.

Merry Christmas Sparkling Holly
by Angie Cimbalo

Purple sparkle main

Hello and welcome, it's Angie here today with a fun easy sparkly holiday card featuring the new holly stencil!

First I got all my supplies ready:

IMG_4032

Here's the side of the stencil I used with the sparkle paste:

IMG_4033

Now here's how I made this card:

1)  Using the stencil on the purple strip of paper, add sparkle paste (I used Cosmic Shimmer Ultra Sparkle Paste) through the stencil and set it off to the side to dry.  (It takes about one hour if you don't put it on too thick, or you can let it dry overnight.)

2)  Once it's dried, you can add it to your A2 card base.

3)  Take the two die cut pieces from the Merry Christmas die and add them together with glue.  I cut the silver from Memory Box Mirror Cardstock and the purple from the same piece of paper I used to stencil.

4)  Lastly add a thin strip of the silver paper on the edge of the stenciled panel in the center of the card.

And there you have it!  Quick and easy and or so sparkly!

Purple sparkle main

I hope you like my card for today, it was so much fun to create.  Be sure to check out all the new goodies from Memory Box.

Thanks for stopping by!

Green Birds and a Brown Bear by Jean Okimoto

P1036588

Send fall greetings with the Layered Polar Bear - now appearing as a friendly brown bear in soft felt.  He's sitting on the new Snowy Log - before the snow - and three members of the new Little Bird Bunch.  Hi, Jean here wishing you a Happy Fall!

P1036597

Designs from the Winter Days Collection - Snowy Log, Little Bird Bunch and the Nutmeg Forest 6x6 set - are very mix- and match-able with dies from previous holiday collections.

Cut Snowy Log from dark brown cardstock.  Ink the short end of the larger diecut with Pinecone VersaFine Clair to create a shadowy hollowed end.

Cut Little Bird Bunch from an olive green 6x6 in the Greenery Collection and the chartreuse Rainbow Reflections 6x6.  Color the beaks with a black marker.  Save the 2 extra birds for another project.

Cut the gold-accented Nutmeg Spice 6x6 with a portion of the 2-¼" wide Slim Basic Rectangle Layers die.  Trim it to 5-⅝" long.  Cut Orange Peel cardstock with a portion of the 2" wide Slim Basic Rectangle Layers die.    Trim it to 4-¾" long.

Cut the large solid Layered Polar Bear from medium-brown cardstock.  Color the areas that will appear behind the facial features and ears with a black marker.  Attach an adhesive label sheet (or a sticker sheet) to brown wool-blend felt and cut the remaining pieces.  The paper stabilizes the felt and prevents adhesives from saturating it.  Cut the paws from dark brown cardstock and layer them behind the felt paws for extra dimension.

Glue 2 pieces of dark brown cardstock together.  Cut it with the solid Happy Fall Posh Script background die.  Spritz both sides with a list mist of water.  Pressure-emboss it using the rubber embossing mat and plates required for your machine.  Embossing the background makes it very easy to align and attach the detailed top layer. Cut the greeting's detailed top layer from Orange Peel Cardstock.

P1036587

Attach the diecuts to a recycled Kraft A6 card (4-½" x 6-¼").  Cut an A6-sized piece of cardstock to protect the card front for mailing.

Mix and match the dies and papers from different collections.  The colors, patterns and shapes are versatile and create holiday greetings for the special recipients on your list.

Thanks for visiting - see you on Friday!

Build a festive gingerbread house from the new A Frame House die set.  Trims and candies from the Gingerbread House Frame set (from a previous release) add glittery sweetness and holiday cheer.  Hi, Jean here with a mix of classic favorites and new designs for Christmas.  Hope it also inspires you to enter November's Food + Drink Challenge #113.  The entry deadline is the end of the day EST on November 29th.

Cut the A Frame House, roof line and chimney from dark kraft cardstock.  Cut the door from a bright red 6x6 in the Blush Collection.  Attach a strip of acetate behind the door for a glassy look, then attach the door to the house.

Darken the chimney with a light layer of Vintage Sepia VersaFine ink.  Cut the snowy chimney cap from the white 6x6 in the Festive Glitter Pad.

Cut two strips of white Festive Glitter Pad sheet with the short end of the largest Fringed Scalloped Frame.  Trim them just beyond the tiny holes to create strips of snow.

Cut the white glitter sheet  with the small angled/scalloped die from the Gingerbread House Frame set.  Trim the ends and attach it above the door.  More snow!

The candycanes, peppermints, gumdrops and loops are also cut from Gingerbread House Frame dies.  Glitzy Glitter Pad red 6x6's, white cardstock and the turquoise Rainbow Reflections 6x6 create the sweet accents for the gingerbread house.

Cut a white cardstock background block with the 3-¾" x 5" Rectangle Basics die.

O Mushroom Tree
by Trina Pham

IMG_7690Hello everyone.   The “O Christmas  Tree” song inspired this CAS (clean and simple) unconventional Christmas card featuring the Mysterious Mushrooms die from the current 2024 Winter Days release.   Why limit mushrooms to fall, right? 😂   They are pink in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  It’s also heading over to the annual fundraiser for the Cure at Jingle Belles where $4 will be donated for every pink Christmas card linked to the gallery.  Check it out, if you would like to help, too.

.
Started by die cutting the mushroom pieces from white cardstock and ink blending them with gradient pink or brown dye inks using blending brushes.  Added spots/spores to the mushroom caps with a white Posca pen.

IMG_7682

The mushrooms were then arranged and adhered onto a white woodgrain panel in the shape of a Christmas tree.  Every tree needs a topper, so the star from Snowman House Frame was die cut from gold mirror paper.  The Merry Christmas white foil banner finished off the card.

IMG_7684

I may have taken non-traditional Christmas cards too far 🤔, but it was fun. 😂  Anyway, that does it for today.  Thank you for joining me.  Have a wonderful weekend.

The Haunting Ghosts are back again - posing as little witches for today's card.  Hi, Jean here with a die that won't quit!  The ghosts needed a spooky, abstract background and found three perfect shapes.

MemoryBoxHauntingGhosts, MemoryBoxCauldronWitch, MemoryBoxFringedScallopedFrameSet, MemoryBoxGlitzyGlitterPad, MemoryBoxYuletideCheer6x6, MemoryBoxRainbowReflectionsMirrorPad, MemoryBoxGracefulGardenGlitterPad, MemoryBoxSunrise6x6, MemoryBoxBlackGlossyPaper, JeanOkimoto, MemoryBoxCo, MemoryBox2024FallCornucopia, Cardmaking, Diecutting, DiecutCards, Papercrafts, HalloweenCards, HalloweenDiecuts

Cut three shades of orange cardstock from the Sunrise 6x6 paper pack with the 3 greeting background dies from the new Magical Halloween Clear Stamp and Die Set.  Cut them again from black cardstock.  Shade the orange diecut edges with Morning Mist VersaFine Clair.  It's great for stenciling and shading - and it dries quickly.  Assemble the background blocks, slightly offset for dimension.

Cut Haunting Ghosts from watercolor paper.  Attach scraps of black glittered cardstock from the 6x6 Glitzy Glitter Pad behind the eye cutouts.

Cut the cauldron - from the new Cauldron Witch set - from Black Glossy Paper.  Cut the bubbles from the chartreuse Graceful Garden Glitte Pad 6x6.  Cut the boiling goo from the chartreuse Rainbow Reflections 6x6.

Cut three witch hats from the Cauldron Witch set from black cardstock.  The top right ghost's hat is reversed just so everything isn't too matchy.  Run that diecut through your machine to smooth the cut edges.  Cut three hatbands from the dark turquoise Glitzy Glitter Pad 6x6.  Assemble the hat.

Stamp the greeting - from the Magical Halloween Clear Stamp and Die Set - on another orange 6x6 from the Sunrise Collection with Warm Breeze VersaFine Clair.   Quickly emboss it with detail clear powder.

Cut the dark blue print - from the Yuletide Cheer 6x6 set - with the 2-½" wide Fringed Scalloped Frame Set die.

Attach the diecuts and greeting to a top-folded light recycled Kraft A2 card - use foam tape near the top of the ghosts' heads and their hats.  Cut an A2-sized piece of cardstock to protect the cardfront for mailing.

Discover new ways to use your Memory Box dies - they're great for stenciling too!

Cut Haunting Ghosts from white cardstock.  Save the 4th ghost for another project.  Tear the adhesive edge of a Post-it Note in a slight curve.  Cover the top of the ghosts with the torn edge - and brush, daub or sponge Summertime VeraFine Clair away from the Post-it, down towards the middle of the ghosts.  Blend Cheerful VersaFine Clair over the rest of each ghost.  Attach a scrap of black cardstock behind the eye cutouts.

Cut heavyweight black cardstock (or two medium-weight layers glued together) with the 2-½" wide Nested Globes die.  Spritz both sides of the globe with a light mist of water, then emboss it with the Spiral Delight 3D Embossing Folder.

Cut Intricate Mini Pumpkins from the new Orange Peel and Summer Squash 8.5x11" Cardstock.  Create wonky stems from the legs of the largest Eerie Spider and Leaf Sprout 8.5x11" Cardstock.  Sounds creepy, but it works!

Cut Eerie Spiders from the copper Rainbow Reflections 6x6 sheet.

Stamp Boo - from a previous release of the Halloween Pumpkin Clear Stamp Set - on Key Lime 8.5x11" Cardstock with Nocturne VersaFine Clair.  Quickly emboss it with detail clear powder.  Cut it with the ¾" Circle Basics die.  Cut another circle from black cardstock and layer it for dimension.  Attach it over the Happy Birthday Foil Greetings White Circle Tab...Happy Boo Day!

The new Cauldron Witch can be artfully colored and shaded...or simply cut for a spooky silhouette design.  Add a bit of plaid, an ink-blended scrap of cardstock, glitter, pearlescent cardstock and Bright Jewels - all in a mix of black, orange, violet and purple.  Hi, Jean here with a simple Halloween design from the 2024 Fall Cornucopia Collection.

I used a scrap of white cardstock covered with violet, orange and dark pink ink - cut with the 2" wide Nested Globes die.  Smudge the edges with Electric Purple Radiant Neon ink.  Sounds scary, but it's a great color!

MemoryBox2024FallCornucopia, MemoryBoxCauldronWitch, MemoryBoxNestedGlobes, MemoryBoxFuchsiaPlaid, MemoryBoxOrangePeelPaperPack, MemoryBoxLavenderBloomPaperPack, MemoryBoxRainbowReflections6x6, MemoryBoxGlitzyGlitterPad, MemoryBoxBrightJewels, MemoryBoxMagicalHalloweenClearStampAndDieSet, MemoryBoxBlackGlossyPaper, JeanOkimoto, MemoryBoxCo, MemoryBoxDies, DiecutCards, CardmakingIdeas, CardDesigns, HalloweenCards, HalloweenDiecuts
Cut the witch and cauldron from Glossy Black Paper (cardstock).  Cut the hatband, bubbles and boiling brew from the violet Rainbow Reflections 6x6.  Cut the hat from the black Glitzy Glitter Pad 6x6.

Stamp the greeting - from the new Magical Halloween Clear Stamp and Die Set - on the new Lavender Bloom solid-core 100-lb cardstock with Nocturne VersaFine Clair.  Quickly heat-emboss it with detail clear powder.  Let it cool, then cut it with the coordinating die.  Cut the greeting shape again from black cardstock and layer it - slightly offset - for dimension.

Cut the violet/purple/gold Fuchsia Plaid 6x6 with the 2-½" wide Nested Globes die.  Cut the new Orange Peel cardstock with the 3" wide Nested Globes die.

MemoryBox2024FallCornucopia, MemoryBoxCauldronWitch, MemoryBoxNestedGlobes, MemoryBoxFuchsiaPlaid, MemoryBoxOrangePeelPaperPack, MemoryBoxLavenderBloomPaperPack, MemoryBoxRainbowReflections6x6, MemoryBoxGlitzyGlitterPad, MemoryBoxBrightJewels, MemoryBoxMagicalHalloweenClearStampAndDieSet, MemoryBoxBlackGlossyPaper, JeanOkimoto, MemoryBoxCo, MemoryBoxDies, DiecutCards, CardmakingIdeas, CardDesigns, HalloweenCards, HalloweenDiecuts

Attach the diecuts to a light kraft A2 card - use foam dots for the greeting.  Add violet Bright Jewels to three of the bubbles.  Cut an A2-sized piece of cardstock to protect the card front for mailing.

Highlight a spooky black silhouette with glitter, shimmer, glossy cardstock and sparkly jewels in a mix of bright colors.  Halloween says it's OK to over-bling and experiment with a mix of colors.

Thanks for visiting...see you again on Thursday!
