Plumed Gypsy Feather and Hugs Dies
by Angie Cimbalo

Hello and welcome!  It's Angie here today with a mini slimline card featuring the new Plumed Gypsy Feather die and the Hugs die.  Here's a closer look at my card:

I cut the feather several times from white and black card stock and also from a watercolor panel that I had smooshed with Distress Inks.  If you look above at the bottom feather you can really see the texture of the watercolor paper!

Next I paper pieced different black and colored pieced into two stacked white feathers.  Then I arranged one on the top of my mini slimline card base and cut off excess.  I used the left over pieces to add to the bottom of the card.

For the sentiment I layered a strip of watercolored paper on top of a black strip, then added the sentiment.  The sentiment was layered.   The bottom shadow die cut 2 from black and one from watercolor panel.  To get the black shadow effect glue the 3 dies together but offset the black ones (one on the top, one on the bottom.)  Then add the white "hugs" die on top and add it over the strips on the front of the card.

Here's one last look at my card:

I hope you like my card for today.  I really love the new dies especially the feather.  You can create such lovely cards with it!  Thanks so much for stopping by!

Backyard Floral Stems & Fence Picket Dies + Video
by Angie Cimbalo

Card 1

Hello and welcome, it's Angie here today with a mini slimline "Hello" card featuring the new Backyard Floral Stems and the Woodgrain Fence Pickets dies.  Here's a look at those dies below along with a short video showing how I made my card:

Dies I used

In the video you will see how I color the die-cuts with markers and colored pencils to get a fun realistic rustic look on them.  I also used some Distress Inks with pencil type blending brushes.  Putting the card together was so much fun!  I made the fence by using the pickets vertically and horizontally by cutting off the tops.  Here's a couple more pictures of my card:

I also share a tip for getting really clean white embossing on black card stock.  I prefer to use black alcohol ink card stock because it's such a dark solid black.  It's a little more expensive than just regular black card stock but it really holds up to the heat and the reaction the white embossing powder has on the paper, is always clean and bright white.

Here's a closer look:

I had so much fun making this card and video for you today.

Feather Pen
by Trina Pham

B79D461A-3D44-4B9D-8979-107664F0AE75

Hello there.  I have a super CAS (clean and simple) mini slimline card today using the small Plumed Gypsy Feather and Hugs Tender Script dies from the February 2023 collection.

Started by die cutting a stencil from a scrap of thick white paper with the small feather die.  Cut away the three strips that extended in.

AA3D8D5D-DD9E-4F68-A421-0865A395EE93

Positioned the stencil onto a 3”x6” Bristol panel and ink blended blue and turquoise dye inks with blending brushes.  Splattered with water and blot with a paper towel for texture.

Die cut another feather from another white scrap and stacked for dimension before adhering on top of the stencilled image.

28EB4200-31E3-4D07-86F4-15DE9A3CD500

Die cut the Hugs Tender Script sentiment from black cardstock.  Used the inside of the “h” loop for the pen tip.  Wanted to do a large ink splat, but was too nervous to do it, so added diluted black gouache splatters instead.  Added another piece of cardstock to the panel for a bit of dimension before mounting it onto a 3,25”x6.25” white mini slimline card base to finish.

So it appears Jean and I were on the same wavelength to die cut our own stencils. 😂  Anyway, that does it for my card.  Thank you for joining me today.  Have a wonderful day.

Floral Bouquet
by Trina Pham

Hello everyone.  I have a floral bouquet mini slimline card to share today featuring new products from the current 2023 February release.

I saw on Instagram a flower bouquet wrap created by folding in the sides of a die cut heart and since I had a leftover die cut heart in my stash, I put it to good use.  The heart had been die cut with the largest die from either the Double Stitched or Scallop Pinpoint Loving Heart die set.

7AFFD82D-880D-458E-9D51-CE7C03114D37

The flowers and foliage from new Floral Bud and Stems and Backyard Floral Stems die sets were die cut from white cardstock.  Colored the foliage with YG61, YG63 and G99 Copic Sketch markers, while the flowers were colored with Wilted Violet distress ink using a finger blending brush.

The background panel is Bristol paper trimmed to 3”x6”.  Ink blended Wilted Violet distress ink from the bottom left corner fading out to the opposite corner.  Flicked on some water and splattered with diluted white gouache paint for some interest.   Die cut new Hello Rush Script  sentiment from gold glitter paper and black cardstock to offset for a drop shadow.  Assembled the card onto a white mini slimline card base and added some highlights with a white gel pen to finish.

That’s it for today.  Thank you for joining me.  Have a wonderful day.

by Sara Cook

Good morning, Valentines day is coming up! My new card design featuring the new heart ring stack and Sending love daily script.

FC318142-FB0A-48E5-98E5-407CAA1ECEB4_1_201_a

Background:

Trim cream card stock to two and three quarters by five and three quarters. Using the plastic wrapper for the dies, smush distress ink kitsch flamingo onto the plastic wrap. Lightly sprit with water and smush the ink randomly onto the card base, repeat processes but using distress ink, squeeze lemonade and mild lavender then dry with a heat gun. Next splatter with white calligraphy ink.  Adhere to a pink Vintage Pastel Mirror paper and trim down, leaving an 1/8" boarder.

Sentiment:

Die cut the bottom of the Sending Love Daily Script die from pink Vintage Pastel Mirror paper.  Die cut the top from heavy white card stock. Adhere the outline on top of the peach mirror paper to create a debossed look.  **Note this die can either create a debossed or embossed sentiment.

Heart:

Die cut the Heart Ring Stack from heavy white card stack 3 time.  Glue 2 of the die cuts together.  Set aside the 3rd for later.

Lavender Bouquet Birthday
by Trina Pham

6614FA46-8408-461D-97BD-6A6B5E8A7543

Hello everyone.  I have a CAS (clean and simple) mini slimline birthday card to share today featuring the Lavender Bouquet dies from the 2022 May release.

Started by die cutting the lavender flowers from scraps of Bristol paper.  Using a foam blending tool, added Shaded Lilac distress oxide ink (DOx) to the flower sections.  Used the direct-to-paper method to add Shabby Shutters distress ink (DI) to the stems.  A dark purple Tombow alcohol marker was then used to give it some texture and dimension.  Created the vase by die cutting from alcohol marker friendly paper using a Nested Globes die then trimming off the rounded end to get a flat edge.  Added shading to it with Copic Sketch markers C1, C0 and C00.

53F85A94-319A-4349-B0E7-B828BFFEB1CD

The white card base and the background panel were trimmed to 3.25”x6.25” from heavy weight white cardstock next.  On the panel, stamped the sentiment from Poppy Stamps Birthday Blowout with Shaded Lilac DOx ink and heat embossed with clear glitter embossing powder.  Masked off the left side and bottom, then ink blended Blueprint Sketch DI.  Splattered with white and black gouache paint for some texture.  Assembled to finish.

That does it from me.  Thank you for joining me today.  Have a wonderful day.

Hello Mini Slimline Card
by Donna Sledzik

IMG_1808

Hello everyone!  Today I have a mini slimline card for you using the new hot foil plates from the 2022 May release.

I began by using the Exquisite Leaves hot foil plate and the Posh Hello hot foil plate to add gold foil to white cardstock.  I used the coordinating dies to cut out the images. Next, I used a blending brush to add Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide inks to the leaves.

I die cut the Riverbank Large Layered Blooms several times from white cardstock and used Mustard Seed and Carved Pumpkin Distress Oxide ink to color the flowers.  Instead of stacking the flowers, I decided to use them separately on my card.

To create the background for my flowers I used the Ringadings 3D embossing folder and white cardstock.   I used a blending brush and Prize Ribbon Distress Oxide Ink to add color to the background.  To darken the color I used Chipped Sapphire Distress Oxide Ink.  I spattered the background with plain water and gold ink.

IMG_1799

I glued this to a white cardstock layer that I die cut using the Slim Pinpoint Burst Plate.  This was adhered to a navy cardstock mat and glued to a white card base.

Next, I glued the flowers and leaves to the card and used foam tape adhere the word "Hello".

IMG_1810

To finish the card, I inked the flower centers with Vintage Photo ink, glued them in place, and used Gold Nuvo Drops to add some dimension to the flower centers.

Well that's it for today!  I hope you have a great weekend!

5) Run it through my die cutting machine with the Slim Pinpoint Burst die
6) Cut the flower from both the blue negative foil and a piece of silver negative foil, piece them together.
7) Add the circle die cut to the center of the main panel lining up the sunbursts
8) Pop up the flower in the center of the sunburst.

Exquisite Leaves Birthday Card
by Angie Cimbalo

1

Hello and welcome! It's Angie here today with this mini slimline birthday card featuring new hot foiling dies from Memory Box. Here's a close up look so you can see the foiling better:

Real close

I used both the "Exquisite Leaves" (MBF002) and "Posh Happy Birthday" (MBF011) with Rose Gold foil.

2

The top panel is from the off white Vintage Pastel Mirror Pad (FP002) attached to a mini slimline card base. I used a strip of rose gold card stock from the same paper pad over where the two leave clusters meet and then added the sentiment over it.

Lastly, I added a few gold/amber jewels also from Memory Box.
Here's one last view:

Such a Good Friend
by Angie Cimbalo

Close

Hello and welcome! It's Angie here today with this plaid mini slimline card for a dear friend. I used a lot of different products today to create this card.

First of all I used the "Nested Globes" die set - 94532 to do some partial die-cutting. I ran card stock through my die cutting machine with the bottom cutting line of the globe hanging off the edge of the cutting plates so it wouldn't cut through the paper. Then I measured how long I wanted the oval panel to be to fit on my card front, and turned the die around the other way, again with the bottom flat side cutting line hanging off the edge of my cutting plates. This created my pretty oval shape for the focal point of my card and sentiment placement.

The leaves were actually made with the Pinpoint Leaf Plate 94381. I took white card stock and ran it through my die cutting machine with the pinpoint die, then added Distress Oxide Mermaid Lagoon ink direct from the pad on to the paper. That left little tiny white dots where all the pinpoints were. Next, I fussy cut out a few of the leaves and added them around the edges of my oval panel. I also cut a black mat in the same globe shape to help offset the white from the plaid a little better.

Here's a closer look at my card:

Close

The paper for the main background on the card came from the Madris Blue and Purple Plaid paper pad PP1014. I used the Layered Star Flower dies 94612, to cut my flower from peach, pink and orange Vintage Pastel Mirror Card Stock FP1002, and added a Pastel Jewels to the center of the flower and scattered on the front of the card.

The sentiment is from the Friends and Family stamp set CL5276, stamped in Versafine Clair Nocturne ink.

Here's one last look at my card:
