With Love
by Melissa Rusk

Hi friends! Today I have a sweet little card that would be perfect for this summer wedding season.

IMG_0171

I used the beautiful Birds and Blossoms die and cut it in white paper. I then inked a light teal circle with my blending brush and glued the die cut over the top of it.
IMG_0171

I added some pearls and the stamped sentiment from the Big and Little Words stamp set. This card would be easy to customize to match the colors of the wedding you are attending just by changing the card color and the ink color.

A Trio of Poppies
by Melissa Rusk

Happy Sunday friends! I hope you are having a wonderful weekend. Today I have a card to share using the Layered Poppy die, let's get started!

IMG_0118

I cut out the Layered Poppy in white paper three times and glued them all together. To make my square background I made my own stencil with the Square Basics set and used my ink blending brush to fill them in with a teal ink.
IMG_0118

So fun and something I know I will try again! I kept to a teal and white color scheme on this card and glued my stenciled piece of paper to a teal card and then added some darker teal strips of paper to clean up the edges of the white paper.IMG_0118

I finished the card off with three little clear gems in the bottom corner. So fun and easy too.

Thinking of You
by Melissa Rusk

IMG_0101

Today I have a sweet and simple card using the Scribble Leaf Branch dies. I cut the outline and the background in the same green paper and glued them together.
IMG_0101

I layered some papers that I had, a green stripe that is the same as the leaves and then a green speckle paper. It would be easy to make your own speckle paper with some watercolor paint and a paint brush. I added some gold washi tape and then stamped my sentiment from the Big and Little words stamp set. To finish it off I added some green hearts and it's ready to send to a friend.

Roses and Thanks
by Melissa Rusk

Happy Monday! Today I have a sweet and simple thank you card featuring the new Antique Rose Cluster Label die. It makes card making so easy when the dies are this pretty!

IMG_0077

First I die cut the Antique Rose Cluster Label die in white paper. Then I colored the die cut piece with Copic Markers. Once the outline was colored, I glued it to a piece of white paper that is 3 3/4" x 5". At this point it looked nice and I could have just stamped my sentiment and finished the card but I decided to add some more color with my markers and I filled in the open spaces on the roses and the leaves.
IMG_0077

After I got the coloring how I wanted it I stamped the Thank You from the Big and Little Words stamp set. I glued it to a pink card and finished it off with some sequins.

Thanks for stopping by the blog, have a wonderful and crafty week!

Thank You
by Melissa Rusk

Happy Tuesday! Today I have a sweet and simple thank you card to share with you that uses one of the new floral dies.

IMG_0069

I die cut the cute Layered Rose die in white paper and then used my ink blending brushes to color the flower pink and the leaves green. On the base of my card I used some light teal ink that coordinated with my card and inked a small area on the right side using one of my bigger blending brushes.
IMG_0069

Once I glued the flower down I was able to stamp my sentiment from the fabulous Big and Little words stamp set. This set is one I know I will reach for again and again, it has so many wonderful sentiments to choose from!

To finish off the card I had some clear gems that I glued down around the flower to add some sparkle.

Have a fabulous and crafty day!

Rose Bouquet Card Set
by Melissa Rusk

Happy Sunday! Today I am sharing how to make a set of cards that would make a great gift for someone using two of the new stamp sets from the April Release. Let's get started!

IMG_0059

I picked out 5 different colors of cardstock and used ink colors that coordinated to give the tone on tone look that I wanted. Then I stamped the beautiful Rose Bouquet stamp on each card. If you have a stamping tool like the Misti it makes this so fast.
IMG_0059

Then on white strips of paper I stamped sentiments from the Big and Little Words clear stamp set. It had some perfect basic sentiments that everyone would love to have on hand in a set.
IMG_0059

Don't forget the envelopes! What makes this gift set extra fun and special is the coordinating envelopes. I stamped a few of the smaller individual roses on one corner of each envelope to make it extra special.
IMG_0059

This set would be fun done in white cards and envelopes and different colors of ink. Pick the favorite colors of the person you want to give the set to and make it extra special.

Shaker Card Fun
by Melissa Rusk

Hi friends! Today I have a fun take on a shaker card using one of my favorite dies from the Spring release, the Underwater Scene die.

IMG_9965

To switch things up on this card I cut out a circle on the front of my card that was a little bit bigger than the Underwater Scene die and then I glued my shaker to the inside of the card. Such a fun change!
IMG_9965

I die cut everything in white and then colored the background circle in a deep teal color with a blending brush and some ink. I sprayed it with a mist of water to create some droplets of lighter color. This can be done with most dye inks.
IMG_9965

I built the shaker by gluing the Underwater Scene to a piece of acetate. Then I added two layers of foam tape around the edge of the frame and then put in some sequins. I sealed it up with the teal circle and then glued it to the inside of the card.

The birthday fishes sentiment from the Oceanside Typewriter Sentiments set finishes it off!

Oceans of Love
by Melissa Rusk

Hello friends! Today I have a watercolored card to share with you. I have been rediscovering my love of watercoloring lately and I decided to make it work for this ocean scene today.

IMG_9940

I die cut the Sailboat Frame die in watercolor paper and then got to work playing with my new watercolor set. I painted the water with two blue colors and then set it aside to dry. For the sunset I started at the bottom with pink and then added more colors to get the look I wanted. I blended them together with water and I just love how it turned out.
IMG_9940

Then I painted the boat and clouds with just some simple colors to make the sunset stand out. Once everything was dry I was able to glue it all to the card.
IMG_9940

I stamped the sentiment from the Oceanside Typewriter Sentiments set and then added a few sequins to finish the card.

Easter Tags
by Melissa Rusk

IMG_9920

Today I have some quick and easy tags for your Easter baskets this weekend. I started with some white tags and then used different colors of washi tape to decorate them. On one tag I put all the tape at an angle and the other I just added it straight. It looks cute both ways!

I added the super cute Gentle Bunny die to the center of each tag and finished each one off with a coordinating ribbon.

Easy and cute for Easter morning! Have a wonderful day!

Thanks for Your Kindness
by Melissa Rusk

Hi friends! Today I have a card that could work for a lot of different occasions. The Butterfly Frond die is perfect for Spring, Easter or just because.

IMG_9216

I die cut the Butterfly Frond die in a white paper and then used my Copic markers to color the leaves and the butterfly. I cut a circle in a similar size from the Circle Basics set and used the Broken China Distress Oxide ink to color it in. When you spray the oxide ink with water it creates this fun textured look to the paper.IMG_9216

When I glued the butterfly together I just put a dot of glue on the body so that the wings could stand up. I took a pencil and curled them around it a little to add dimension. An enamel dot completes the butterfly body.

I stamped the sentiment from the Springtime Typewriter Sentiments set to finish off my card. Thanks for stopping by the blog today!
