A New Collection…2024 Winter Days by Jean Okimoto

The wonderful 2024 Winter Days Collection has arrived!  Holiday icons and greeting dies,  rub on transfers, stencils, 6x6 plaids and prints, a clear stamp + die set - ready for your winter projects!  

Hi, Jean here introducing a versatile Stitchable Mitten die set  to send warm winter wishes.  The new Snowflake RubOns add a frosty holiday look with crisp, opaque details that pop against the Cherry Red Cardstock background. The Wavy Sheet Music die - from an earlier release - is a great backdrop for a Christmas carol-inspired foil greeting banner.

Use the Stitchable Mitten die to find the perfect section of snowflakes for your design.  Tape the die over the rub on transfer and cardstock and lightly trace the outline. I left about ¾" of cardstock uncovered at the bottom because it will be covered by the felt cuff. Cut it about ¼" larger than the outline.  

Carefully remove the paper liner from the rub on.  Lightly tap the rub on onto the cardstock mitten.  Tape the die to the rub on and cardstock.  Cover it with printer paper and roll it through the diecut machine to transfer the snowflakes and diecut the mitten in one easy step.  (The rub on set includes a wood craft stick if you prefer to burnish the rub on.)  Carefully remove the frosty plastic liner.

Attach adhesive label paper (or a sticker sheet) to white wool-blend felt and diecut the cuff. Stitch the top row of the cuff with white embroidery floss.  Cut the mitten set's button from Cherry Red Cardstock and stitch it to the cuff.  Stitch the rest of the cuff and the mitten.

Cut a green 6x6 from the Greenery Collection and Cherry Red Cardstock with the 3-¾" wide Rectangle Basics die.  Trim the corners with a corner rounding punch.  Spritz both sides of the green rectangle with a light mist of water.  Pressure-emboss it with the Wavy Sheet Music die using the rubber embossing mat and plates required for your machine.

Attach the diecuts to a light Kraft A6 card (4-½" x 6-14") - use foam tape for the top and thumb of the mitten.  Add the Joy to the World greeting from the Merry and Bright Black Foil Banner set.  Add green Christmas Fairy Crystals.  Cut an A6-sized piece of cardstock to protect the card front for mailing.

Pumpkin-Carving Time by Jean Okimoto

2024's Carving Pumpkin shares a card and some details with a buddy from a previous release.  They're carved and ready for October 31st.  Hi, Jean here with a Halloween design for weekend crafting.

Stamp the leafy design of the new Leaves and Berries Cling Stamp Set on recycled Kraft Cardstock with Pinecone VersaFine Clair.     Quickly heat-emboss it with detail clear powder.  Cut it with the 4" wide Nested Globes die.  Ink the edges with Pinecone.

Stamp the greeting - from the new Magical Halloween Clear Stamp and Die Set - on a yellow/orange 6x6 from the Sunrise Collection with Pinecone.  Quickly heat-emboss it with detail clear powder.  Cut it with the 1-½"wide Nested Globes die, trim the bottom edge.  Ink the edges with Pinecone.

Diecut the new Carving Pumpkin from a dark bright orange Sunset Collection 6x6.  Cut the leaves, tendril and stem from a yellow/green Greenery Collection 6x6.  Diecut Autumn Pumpkin fron a bright orange Sunset Collection 6x6.  Cut the stem and leaves from the yellow/green Greenery 6x6.  Ink the stems with Summertime VersaFine Clair to create lighter brown stems.

Cut the Carving Pumpkin background die from the black Glitzy Glitter Pad 6x6.  Cut the facial features for the Autumn Pumpkin with the Carving Pumpkin die - from the reverse (white) side of the black Glitzy sheet for a  slightly different smile for the Autumn Pumpkin.

Cut Autumn Pumpkin again from the black Glitzy 6x6. Cut the glittered pumpkin horizontally about ½" below the top.  Attach the top and bottom pieces slightly above and below the orange pumpkin for dimension and to match Carving Pumpkin.

Assemble the pumpkins and attach everything to a recycled Kraft A6 card (4-½" x 6-¼") - use foam tape for the Carving Pumpkin.  Add green Christmas Fairy Crystals.  Cut an A6-sized piece of cardstock to protect the card front for mailing.

Custom Backgrounds for Haunting Ghosts by Jean Okimoto

The Haunting Ghosts are back again - posing as little witches for today's card.  Hi, Jean here with a die that won't quit!  The ghosts needed a spooky, abstract background and found three perfect shapes.

Cut three shades of orange cardstock from the Sunrise 6x6 paper pack with the 3 greeting background dies from the new Magical Halloween Clear Stamp and Die Set.  Cut them again from black cardstock.  Shade the orange diecut edges with Morning Mist VersaFine Clair.  It's great for stenciling and shading - and it dries quickly.  Assemble the background blocks, slightly offset for dimension. 

Cut Haunting Ghosts from watercolor paper.  Attach scraps of black glittered cardstock from the 6x6 Glitzy Glitter Pad behind the eye cutouts.

Cut the cauldron - from the new Cauldron Witch set - from Black Glossy Paper.  Cut the bubbles from the chartreuse Graceful Garden Glitte Pad 6x6.  Cut the boiling goo from the chartreuse Rainbow Reflections 6x6.

Cut three witch hats from the Cauldron Witch set from black cardstock.  The top right ghost's hat is reversed just so everything isn't too matchy.  Run that diecut through your machine to smooth the cut edges.  Cut three hatbands from the dark turquoise Glitzy Glitter Pad 6x6.  Assemble the hat.

Stamp the greeting - from the Magical Halloween Clear Stamp and Die Set - on another orange 6x6 from the Sunrise Collection with Warm Breeze VersaFine Clair.   Quickly emboss it with detail clear powder.

Cut the dark blue print - from the Yuletide Cheer 6x6 set - with the 2-½" wide Fringed Scalloped Frame Set die.  

Attach the diecuts and greeting to a top-folded light recycled Kraft A2 card - use foam tape near the top of the ghosts' heads and their hats.  Cut an A2-sized piece of cardstock to protect the cardfront for mailing.

Haunting Ghosts in the Pumpkin Patch by Jean Okimoto

 

Intricate Mini Pumpkins join the Eerie Spiders and a trio of candycorn-colored Haunting Ghosts today.  There's a lot happening on this card...because it's Halloween!  Hi, Jean here with more ways to combine the great designs from our 2024 Fall Cornucopia release with items from previous collections. 

Cut Haunting Ghosts from white cardstock.  Save the 4th ghost for another project.  Tear the adhesive edge of a Post-it Note in a slight curve.  Cover the top of the ghosts with the torn edge - and brush, daub or sponge Summertime VeraFine Clair away from the Post-it, down towards the middle of the ghosts.  Blend Cheerful VersaFine Clair over the rest of each ghost.  Attach a scrap of black cardstock behind the eye cutouts.

Cut heavyweight black cardstock (or two medium-weight layers glued together) with the 2-½" wide Nested Globes die.  Spritz both sides of the globe with a light mist of water, then emboss it with the Spiral Delight 3D Embossing Folder.

Cut Intricate Mini Pumpkins from the new Orange Peel and Summer Squash 8.5x11" Cardstock.  Create wonky stems from the legs of the largest Eerie Spider and Leaf Sprout 8.5x11" Cardstock.  Sounds creepy, but it works!

Cut Eerie Spiders from the copper Rainbow Reflections 6x6 sheet.  

Stamp Boo - from a previous release of the Halloween Pumpkin Clear Stamp Set - on Key Lime 8.5x11" Cardstock with Nocturne VersaFine Clair.  Quickly emboss it with detail clear powder.  Cut it with the ¾" Circle Basics die.  Cut another circle from black cardstock and layer it for dimension.  Attach it over the Happy Birthday Foil Greetings White Circle Tab...Happy Boo Day!

Attach everything to a top-folded textured gray A2-card.  Cut an A2-sized piece of cardstock to protect the cardfront for mailing.

Candycorn Haunting Ghosts by Jean Okimoto

Candycorn-colored Haunting Ghosts replace the typical white diecuts on today's card.  Hi, Jean here after a  series of Typepad photo-rejections and draft-saving issues, the bouncy new puppy and big tree challenges.  That called for something sunny, bright and happy...nothing scary!

Cut Haunting Ghosts from white cardstock and the bright yellow and orange Sunrise Collection 6x6 sheets.  Tried to keep the color proportions and sequence similar to real candycorn...details, details!  Attach scraps of black cardstock behind their eye cutouts.

Cut a pearlescent white vellum moon with the 1" Circle Basics die.

Cut the yellow/mustard Gladiola Plaid 6x6 diagonally with the 2-½" wide Nested Globes die.  Cut the new Orange Peel 8.5 x 11" Cardstock with the 2" Nested Globes die.  Cut the mustard/white Glimmering Gladiola leafy branch 6x6 with the 1-½" wide Nested Globes die.

Cut 3 new Eerie Spiders from Black Glossy Paper (cardstock).

Stamp the greeting - from the new Magical Halloween Clear Stamp and Die Set - on mustard cardstock with Nocturne VersaFine Clair.  Quickly emboss it with detail clear powder.  Cut it with the set's coordinating die.  Cut an extra greeting shape from black cardstock and layer it for dimension.

 

Trim the top corners of a yellow/orange A2 notecard with a rounding punch.  Attach the diecuts - use foam tape for the yellow ghost and behind the heads of the orange and white ghosts.  Cut an A2-sized piece of cardstock to protect the card front for mailing.

Glittery, Glossy and Glassy by Jean Okimoto

 

Celebrate Halloween with a mix of bright fall pastels  - and add glittery, glossy, glassy highlights to new dies from the 2024 Fall Cornucopia Collection.  Hi, Jean here with a glittery Haunting Ghost, glossy Eerie Spiders and glassy Potion Bottles.  

Found some ink-blended stash scraps to complement the new Orange Peel and Summer Squash 8.5x11" solid core 100# cardstock.  

Attach a piece of a self-adhesive laminating sheet to a portion of ink-blended or watercolored cardstock and cut just the bottles from the new Potion Bottles die.  Color the stopper-top portions with a brown Sharpie marker and set them aside to dry.

Cut the drippy goo sections from and un-laminated portion of the ink-blended or watercolored cardstock.  Assemble the bottles.  Scary picture - but notice the contrast between the glassy laminated bottles and matte drippy goo?  There's less reflection on the left bottle, but it's laminated too.

Cut Eerie Spiders from Black Glossy Paper.

Cut the ghost - from the new Haunting Ghosts die - from a white Delicate Pastel Glitter Pad 6x6.  Attach a scrap of black cardstock behind the eyes.  Cut the ghost again from black cardstock and attach it behind the glittered ghost for dimension.

Cut Intricate Mini Pumpkins from Orange Peel and Summer Squash cardstock.  Select pumpkins for the card and ink their edges with Summertime and Cheerful VersaFine Clair.

Cut the 3.3 x 4.7" Fringed Scalloped Frame from pale peach cardstock.  Stamp the greeting - from the new Magical Halloween Clear Stamp and Die Set - with Summertime VersaFine Clair.  Quickly emboss it with detail clear powder.

Attach the diecuts to a side-folded pale pink A2 card - use foam dots behind the ghost's head.

Need a vase die?  Cut just the bottle, without the drippy goo and leave the top of the bottle uninked.

Cauldron Witch – Simply Silhouetted by Jean Okimoto

The new Cauldron Witch can be artfully colored and shaded...or simply cut for a spooky silhouette design.  Add a bit of plaid, an ink-blended scrap of cardstock, glitter, pearlescent cardstock and Bright Jewels - all in a mix of black, orange, violet and purple.  Hi, Jean here with a simple Halloween design from the 2024 Fall Cornucopia Collection.

I used a scrap of white cardstock covered with violet, orange and dark pink ink - cut with the 2" wide Nested Globes die.  Smudge the edges with Electric Purple Radiant Neon ink.  Sounds scary, but it's a great color!

Cut the witch and cauldron from Glossy Black Paper (cardstock).  Cut the hatband, bubbles and boiling brew from the violet Rainbow Reflections 6x6.  Cut the hat from the black Glitzy Glitter Pad 6x6.  

Stamp the greeting - from the new Magical Halloween Clear Stamp and Die Set - on the new Lavender Bloom solid-core 100-lb cardstock with Nocturne VersaFine Clair.  Quickly heat-emboss it with detail clear powder.  Let it cool, then cut it with the coordinating die.  Cut the greeting shape again from black cardstock and layer it - slightly offset - for dimension.

Cut the violet/purple/gold Fuchsia Plaid 6x6 with the 2-½" wide Nested Globes die.  Cut the new Orange Peel cardstock with the 3" wide Nested Globes die. 

Attach the diecuts to a light kraft A2 card - use foam dots for the greeting.  Add violet Bright Jewels to three of the bubbles.  Cut an A2-sized piece of cardstock to protect the card front for mailing.

Highlight a spooky black silhouette with glitter, shimmer, glossy cardstock and sparkly jewels in a mix of bright colors.  Halloween says it's OK to over-bling and experiment with a mix of colors.

Ghostly Mummies, Mummy Ghosts…or Ghummies? by Jean Okimoto

Create Ghummies - happy little ghostly mummies -  with the new Haunting Ghosts die and a sheet from the Yuletide Cheer 6x6's.  Hi, Jean back again with another Halloween design featuring our 2024 Fall Cornucopia Collection.

We're using a wavy gold-foiled sheet from the Yuletide Cheer 6x6 set.  Here's an easy way to select a great section of the print for the ghosts.  Cut Haunting Ghosts from a contrasting cardstock scrap to create a template for the die.  Chose a section for your ghosts, then place the die in the template and cut the patterned paper exactly where you want it.

Cut scraps of black cardstock and attach them behind the eyes.  Cut another set of ghosts from black cardstock to add a contrasting black offset edge to the ghosts.  

Cut detailed top layer of Carving Pumpkin from the new Orange Peel 8.5x11" cardstock.  Cut the solid background from the black 6x6 in the Majestic Hues Glitter Pad.  Cut the stem/leaf/tendril pieces from the new Leaf Sprout sheet.  Color the stem with an orange marker - layering orange over Leaf Sprout creates a realistic woody-brown.  (A brown marker would be too dark.)

Cut 2 Eerie spiders from spiders from black cardstock. 

Stamp the greeting - from the new Magical Halloween Clear Stamp and Die Set - on a Key Lime 8.5x11 sheet with Nocturne VersaFine Clair.  Quickly heat-emboss it with detail clear powder.  Cut it with the 2" wide Nested Globes die.  Shade the edges with Nocturne too.

Cut black cardstock with the 2-½" wide Nested Globes die.

Attach the diecuts to a top-folded light  kraft A2 card - use foam tape for the pumpkin and the heads of the ghosts.

Here's a mix of Halloween icons featuring the new dies and clear stamps.  Cut Haunting Ghosts from heavy white cardstock and attach scraps of black cardstock behind the eye cutouts. Cut Eerie Spiders from black cardstock.  

Cut Intricate Mini Pumpkins from the new Orange Peel and Golden Wheat 8.5x11" sheets.  The smooth, rich colors are solid-core 100# cardstock - perfect for card bases, diecuts, stamping and 3D embossing.  They also make great treat wrappers and mini boxes for Halloween candies!  Lightly ink the pumpkins with Summertime and Cheerful VersaFine Clair to add dimension and highlight the details.

Save the extra ghost, spiders and pumpkins for other projects.

Cut the wavy dark gray/blue/gold print from the Yuletide Cheer 6x6 set with the 2" wide Nested Globes die.  Cut the new Orange Peel cardstock with the 2-½" wide Nested Globes die.

Stamp the greeting - from the new Magical Halloween Clear Stamp and Die Set - on a medium gray/blue 6x6 from the Stormy Blue Collection with Smoky Gray VersaFine Clair.  Quickly heat-emboss it with detail clear powder.  Trim it with the matching die.

Attach the diecuts to a dark gray A2 card - use foam dots for the greeting, ghosts' heads and the two pumpkins on the right.

Create a Woodgrain Plank Tree by Jean Okimoto

 

Woodgrain panel diecuts are great for piers, birdhouses, log cabins, rustic backgrounds - and Christmas trees.  The new Narrow Woodgrain Planks are perfectly-proportioned to create a wonky tree - without the labor of measuring and cutting wood planks to the right lengths.  Hi, Jean building a DIY holiday tree design..

Cut Narrow Woodgrain Planks from a green 6x6 in the Greenery Collection.  Save the longest piece for another project.  Cut a ¼" x 4-¼" strip of the Kraft Woodgrain Paper for the trunk.  Ink it lightly with Vintage Sepia VersaFine. 

Attach adhesive label paper or a sticker sheet to bright red wool-blend felt to stabilize it and prevent adhesives from saturating it.  Cut Layered Birds.  Cut the birds again from the bright red Festive Glitter Pad 6x6.  Assemble the birds in a combination of felt and glittered bases and overlays - save the extra birds for another project.  

Cut the new Snowflake Joy background from the prepped red felt too.  Cut the detailed top layer from heavy white cardstock.  Cut two center snowflakes from the bright red Festive Glitter Pad 6x6 - for the treetop and the greeting.

Attach the diecuts to a white A6 card (4-½" x 6-¼").  Add clear Fairy Drops.  Cut an A6-sized piece of cardstock to protect the card front for mailing.
