Look for Rainbows Slimline Card
by Angie Cimbalo

7 best one

Hello, it's Angie here today with some of the new 2021 Spring dies, stamps and papers from Memory Box!  This latest release not only has some amazing new large stamp sets and beautiful dies, it also has the newest product - 6" X 6" card stock pads in the most amazing solid coordinating colors!  My card showcases several of the gorgeous colors available in these new pads of card st0ck.

I used several new dies, new paper and a new stamp set, along with a few previously released dies too.

Here's a video showing how I made this card:

1)  The rainbows were made with the new "Arch Collage" die and five of the new 6" x 6" solid color paper pads.  I first used the arch die on seven colors of card stock.  Next I cut the arches from a slimline white panel, adding a white backing panel to it, so I could paper pieced the strips into the negative space on both rainbows.

I also used several of the newly released slimline dies.  I love to make slimline cards and these dies make it so easy to do.

2)  The white panels were cut with the new "Wrapped Slim Stitched" rectangle dies and the black panel was cut with one of the new "Slim Basic Rectangle Layers" die.  This die set has so many sizes to create layers of any size on your slimline creations.

3)  The sentiment is heat embossed in white on black card stock and it is from the "Joyful Moments" clear stamp set.  I die cut it with the smallest die in the "Wrapped Stitched Rectangle" die set.

4)  The hearts were cut from the same pink paper with the "Sprinkle Heart Collage" die and placed on the card front.

5)  Lastly I added the card to the card base (which was 3.5" x 8.5") and added lots of shimmer pen to all the hearts and all the arched colored pieces.  It's hard to see the shine but in person, it just glistens!

Here's one more look:

I hope you have a chance to stop by the Memory Box website to see all the wonderful new products.  This release is one of my favorites ever!

The video above of the making of this card is also on my YouTube channel if you would like to see it, click HERE.

Thanks so much for stopping by and be sure to stop by every day this week to see the new products featured by the design team!

Deep-Emboss the Floral Bouquet Heart by Jean Okimoto

Dies are great for embossing but they sometimes need a little extra help.  Add extra dimension to your embossed designs with some behind-the-scenes washi tape and a diecut .  Hi, Jean Okimoto here with a few techniques, delayed by many hours of internet connection challenges.

Two special steps in the embossing process create smooth details and minimize splitting and cracking of the cardstock.  First - attach wide washi tape behind the bright pink 80# (or heavier) cardstock to stabilize it and keep it from tearing.  It's on the backside and won't be seen.  Cut it with the largest Double Stitch Happy Heart Cut Out.

Next, cut a scrap of cardboard with the Floral Bouquet Heart - use a metal shim for a smooth, complete cut.  Place the die over the pink heart as usual.  Place the cardboard diecut behind the pink heart so it functions like the bottom layer of an embossing folder. Tape the stack to the embossing mat so it won't shift.  Pressure-emboss it using the rubber embossing mat and plates required for your machine.

Cut Sprinkle Heart Collage from pink cardstock and trim the edges.  Place a strip of the white sheet from the Frosted Glitter Pad behind the cutouts.

Cut BIG Hugs Posh Script from light gray and bright pink cardstock and assemble the double-layered greeting.Attach everything to a light gray slimline card (8-½" x 3-⅝").  Add  ¼" dots punched from the silver sheet in the Holiday Glitter Pad.

Embossing adds interest to any project - let your Memory Box dies create focal points and backgrounds to complement your design without overwhelming it.

Thanks for visiting - have a great weekend!

Be Mine
by Michelle Bala

Hello there! Michelle here, sharing a simple design for Valentine's Day that can be given to a male or female.

I used the Crystal Heart Die, Double Stitch Loving Heart Cut Out Die, Big and Little Valentines Clear Stamp, Holiday Glitter Pad and Polished Foil Pad.

I die cut the Crystal Heart two times. Once each using glitter and foil paper in the champagne shade. I glued the foil heart on top of the glitter heart.

I adhered the layered Crystal Heart onto a piece of foam tape. I used a foam sheet for this step.  I added the geometric shapes back into the Crystal Heart, alternating between glitter and foil. Than I trimmed the excess foam sheet.

The next steps are shown above. I trimmed a piece of gray cardstock to 4 1/4 x 5 1/2. I die cut the window using the Double Stitch Loving Heart Die. Stamp the sentiment. Turn the panel over and add foam adhesive. Adhere the gray panel onto a white card base.

Last, peel off the back of the foam sheet from the Crystal Heart and adhere the heart in the center of the heart window.

What do you think? I hope you liked it!

Hope you have a great weekend!

Be Mine Slim Line Card by Sara Cook

I have a mixed media slim line card today.  A soft mixed media background, featuring the new Slim Pinpoint Heart Plate die.

Be mine full image

The card stock is a extra heavy white card stock.  Ink smoosh Distress Inks Picked Raspberry, Spun Sugar, and Shaded Lilac on a glass mat and spritz with water.  Tap the card in the inks, turning the card each time adding more ink.  Heat set the card and repeat.  Blended Spun Sugar and Wilted Violet on the dried card stock.  To mute the background smoosh Hero Arts Unicorn all over the card stock.  Heat set.  Take a large wet brush and brush water across the card to continue to blend colors together.  Heat set again.

Die cut the paper with the Slim Pinpoint Heart Plate die.

Be mine background

Randomly place the scripted stamped from the Peony Garden Corner set on a plastic sheet. Ink with Shaded Lilac Distress ink and randomly stamp the background card, turning the plastic sheet in-between impressions.  This should be random so the sentiment cannot be fully read.

Be mine word background

Focal Image:

Use the 2nd largest heart die from the double Stitch Loving Heart die set and cut out of a light purple card stock.  Center the die cut in the upper middle of the Slim Pinpoint Heart Plate die and secure in place.  Run it through the die cut.  Ink around the outside of the heart die cut with Shaded Lilac Distress ink.  Add double sided foam tape foam tape the the backside of the heart and then align on the ground. Stamp be mine from the Big and Little Valentines stamp set on white card stock with Shaded Lilac ink.  Cut out each word separately.  Swipe the side of the stamped image directly into Shaded Lilac ink to create a boarder.  Lightly blend Shaded Lilac on the stamped image to tone down the white background.  Glue in the center of the heart.

Be mine heart

From Big and Little Valentines stamp happy Valentine's Day in Picked Raspberry Distress Ink on while card stock. Cut each word out.  Make the boarder the same way as the be mine words.  Glue on the background.  Too high light the sentiments take a white gel pen and outline around the paper.

Card Base

Cut 2 pieces of white card stock to 3 3/4"x8 3/4".  Score 1/2" from top of card and fold.  This will be the bottom base.  Add g to just the 1/2" scored section of the bottom base and place the top card base on top.  Then glue the background card on the top card centering for a white boarder. To embellish die cut Scribble Leafy Branch Outline die from white card stock and Scribble Leafy Branch background from Vellum.  Arrange 3 pcs at the bottom right of the heart and 2 pcs at the top left of the heart.

Be mine upclose

Valentine Treat Pouches
by Anne Thompson

I made some cute little valentine treat pouches using the Christmas Plaid papers and several of the dies from the Valentines 2021 collection.  Each pouch is made from one 6x6 double-sided piece of paper--perfect for using any of the Memory Box 6x6 paper pads.

You use a simple diaper fold to create the pouches--there are lots of tutorials and videos online and examples on pinterest.  I followed the instructions on the Splitcoast Stampers blog:  Fold your paper in half on the diagonal to make a triangle.  You then take one of the lower corners of the triangle and fold it over to the middle of the other triangle side.  Take the other lower corner of your triangle and fold it over to the middle of the opposite side.  Take one layer of your top corner and fold it down to create your pouch.

I found it was helpful to use a bone folder on the creases.  Sometimes the paper did split a little (and shhh... I just covered those spots with hearts).  I also secured down the folded over pieces with double-sided tape.  The heavier paper makes for very sturdy pouches.

The fun part is then decorating and filling each pouch.  I made four for this post.

materials used

Whatever hearts I cut from plaid papers I also cut from white or off-white cardstock and off-set the plaid papers on top.  I made a bunch of hearts this way first, using some of the same papers on the pouches and adding in some other plaids that coordinated well.  Then I attached those doubled-up hearts to the pouches using Glue Dots or double-sided tape, at least one larger one inside the pouch peeking out and several on the outside.  I added ribbon bows and pearls or red gems to some of the hearts.  I die cut the sentiments "Sending LOVE" and "HUGS" from white cardstock and used a glue pen to adhere them to more of the plaid paper scraps which I then mounted on another layer of white cardstock before tucking them into the pouches.  For the "BIG Hugs" one, I just attached the sentiment to the large heart tucked in the pouch.  I added some foil-wrapped chocolate hearts to each pouch to finish up.

Think I will make more of the small ones for candy treats or tea and some bigger ones using larger squares for holding other treats like hot chocolate, s'mores fixings, microwave popcorn...so many possibilities!

Happy Crafting!

BIG Hugs and DIY Conversation Hearts by Jean Okimoto

Scatter a handful of colorful hearts on a Slim Pinpoint Heart Plate background and add a glittery greeting.  It's a colorful way to send hugs!  Hi, Jean Okimoto here with another slimline design that's easy to create in your favorite colors too.

Stamp the greetings - from the Big and Little Valentine Words Clear Stamp Set - on different shades of smooth cardstock with Morning Mist VersaFine Clair.  Heat-set the ink, then diecut them with the smallest Double Stitch Double Heart Cut Out die.

Cut 5 hearts from gray cardstock with the smallest die too.  They'll add dimension and a shadowy look to the stamped hearts.

Cut Slim Pinpoint Heart Plate from white cardstock.  Cut five of the hearts with the small Double Stitch Heart Cut Out die.  Attach the pinpoint background to a pink slimline card.  Glue the gray hearts in the cutouts.  Attach the multicolored hearts - at an angle - so the gray inserts create a shadowy look.

Cut the solid Posh Big Hearts Script background from green cardstock.

Cut the delicate Post Big Hearts Script  from a white 6x6 sheet from the Delicate Pastel Glitter Pad - leave the diecut in the die.  Attach strips of Diecut 'n Bond tape behind the diecut greeting and run it through the machine again to cut the tape.  Remove the offcuts and little bits of tape liner and attach it to the green background.

Add ¼" punched dots from the pink sheet in the Delicate Pastel Glitter Pad.

You can use the Slim Pinpoint Heart Plate in so many ways - it's much more than just a pretty background!  Trim it to form a tag, add a bold greeting and pretty ribbon.  Diecut it into a large heart for a hearts-on-a-heart design.  Transform it into an elegant wedding or anniversary card.

Thanks for visiting...keep warm and have fun creating Valentines for your special people!

Rainbow Big Hugs
by Trina Pham

Hello everyone.  Things have been tough lately and I needed something happy and cheerful, so I made a clean and simple (CAS) rainbow card to share today.

I started by trimming white cardstock into 3/8” strips and colored them with Copic markers in rainbow colors.  You could avoid this extra step if you have color cardstock.  The strips were then glued onto white cardstock and a heart was die cut from it using the Double Stitch Loving Heart die.

Next, a Wrapped Stitch Rectangle was die cut from Bristol paper and the same heart was die cut in the center of it.  Adhered the panel to a white card base then inlaid the rainbow heart.  The Big Hugs sentiment was die cut from Bristol paper (3x), black cardstock and white Holiday Glitter paper.  Stacked them for dimension and offset with the black one for a shadow to finish.  There is a shadow die in the set, but it was a tad too big for the space.

I was having fun and while supplies were out, I made another CAS rainbow card.

And that does it for me.  Thank you for joining me today.  Enjoy your day.

Sending Love Shaker Card
by Michelle Bala

Hello there! Michelle here, sharing some of the fun new products for Valentine's Day! I used the largest die from the Scallop Pinpoint Loving Heart Die. This die is perfect for creating a shaker card. I die cut a piece of red cardstock than splattered it with white paint. Set aside to dry.

Next, I used the Pinpoint Burst Plate and embossed a piece of aqua cardstock.  Adhere the embossed panel to the card base. When the top die cut panel is dry, turn it over and adhere a piece of clear acetate to the back. This is the shaker window. Frame out the shaker window panel with a double layer of foam tape and remove all tabs.

Sprinkle a mix of sequins onto the aqua cardstock where the shaker window will position.  Adhere the top panel over the sequins.  Last, die cut the sentiment Sending Love Posh Script two times. I used the Holiday Glitter Pad and aqua cardstock to die cut the sentiment. I adhered them together slightly off center. Than adhere the sentiment to the card.

Thanks for stopping by for a peek!

Hope you'll give this shaker a try!
