Eerie Spiders Attack The Mini Pumpkins by Anne Thompson

Here's another Halloween card.  This one features lots of EERIE SPIDERS 94846 and the INTRICATE MINI PUMPKINS 94845.

I started with a blank white top fold note card and added a 5 1/2" X 4" piece of green plaid paper from YULETIDE PLAID PP1031.  I cut a piece of brown card stock 4" wide and tore the top edge and added it to the plaid background to act as a field for pumpkins.

Next I die cut the INTRICATE MINI PUMPKINS 94845 from ORANGE PEEL CARD STOCK SH44017.  I stuck them onto a strip of glue dots and set them aside.

Then I die cut the EERIE SPIDERS 94846 three times from BLACK GLOSSY PAPER SH44004.  I stuck those onto a strip of glue dots and set them aside.

I arranged the Intricate Mini Pumpkins on the brown field, placing the smallest ones toward the top edge and the larger ones in the foreground.  Next I placed the tiniest spiders on and around those pumpkins.  I put four of the larger spiders against the green "sky" and used a ruler and a pen to draw their silken threads from the top edge.  

At this point I stamped the sentiment "Halloween Greetings" from MAGICAL HALLOWEEN CLEAR STAMPS SET CL5284 on a scrap of the Orange Peel card stock using VersaFine Clair Nocturne (black) Ink.  I fussy-cut it with detail scissors.

To finish the card, I glued the sentiment to a scrap of the Black Glossy paper and cut around it.  I also added two more large spiders on dimensional foam  to the note card.  I placed the sentiment in the lower right of the field using dimensional foam dots.

I'm pretty sure that spiders don't know how to carve pumpkins.  But I did see the funniest video on Facebook this week of chickens carving pumpkins.  Who knew!  Hope your Halloween includes pumpkins but maybe not giant (or even tiny) spiders!

Haunting Ghosts Through a Window by Trina Pham

Hello everyone.  I have a spooky cute 👻 Halloween card to share today featuring these Haunting Ghosts from the 2024 Fall Cornucopia release. 

 

Stretched the Vintage Tray die and partial die cut it twice from white cardstock, then stacked them to create the window frame.  The ghosts were also die cut from white cardstock and their eyes backed with Black Glossy paper.  Depending on how the light hits them, the eyes “twinkle”… a pretty cool effect IRL (in real life).

For the background, a moon mask was die cut from masking paper using a Circle Basics die.  A Bristol panel was trimmed to the frame size next.  Adhered the moon mask off the top edge of the panel then ink blended gradient colors of teal dye inks using blending brushes.  Splattered with water and blot with a paper towel for some texture.  Used Copic Sketch markers to add shading to the moon (C0/1/2) and ghosts (BG10/11, 0).  White heat embossed the sentiment on a black panel then assembled onto a white card base to finish.

Candycorn Haunting Ghosts by Jean Okimoto

Candycorn-colored Haunting Ghosts replace the typical white diecuts on today's card.  Hi, Jean here after a  series of Typepad photo-rejections and draft-saving issues, the bouncy new puppy and big tree challenges.  That called for something sunny, bright and happy...nothing scary!

Cut Haunting Ghosts from white cardstock and the bright yellow and orange Sunrise Collection 6x6 sheets.  Tried to keep the color proportions and sequence similar to real candycorn...details, details!  Attach scraps of black cardstock behind their eye cutouts.

Cut a pearlescent white vellum moon with the 1" Circle Basics die.

Cut the yellow/mustard Gladiola Plaid 6x6 diagonally with the 2-½" wide Nested Globes die.  Cut the new Orange Peel 8.5 x 11" Cardstock with the 2" Nested Globes die.  Cut the mustard/white Glimmering Gladiola leafy branch 6x6 with the 1-½" wide Nested Globes die.

Cut 3 new Eerie Spiders from Black Glossy Paper (cardstock).

Stamp the greeting - from the new Magical Halloween Clear Stamp and Die Set - on mustard cardstock with Nocturne VersaFine Clair.  Quickly emboss it with detail clear powder.  Cut it with the set's coordinating die.  Cut an extra greeting shape from black cardstock and layer it for dimension.

 

Trim the top corners of a yellow/orange A2 notecard with a rounding punch.  Attach the diecuts - use foam tape for the yellow ghost and behind the heads of the orange and white ghosts.  Cut an A2-sized piece of cardstock to protect the card front for mailing.

Glittery, Glossy and Glassy by Jean Okimoto

 

Celebrate Halloween with a mix of bright fall pastels  - and add glittery, glossy, glassy highlights to new dies from the 2024 Fall Cornucopia Collection.  Hi, Jean here with a glittery Haunting Ghost, glossy Eerie Spiders and glassy Potion Bottles.  

Found some ink-blended stash scraps to complement the new Orange Peel and Summer Squash 8.5x11" solid core 100# cardstock.  

Attach a piece of a self-adhesive laminating sheet to a portion of ink-blended or watercolored cardstock and cut just the bottles from the new Potion Bottles die.  Color the stopper-top portions with a brown Sharpie marker and set them aside to dry.

Cut the drippy goo sections from and un-laminated portion of the ink-blended or watercolored cardstock.  Assemble the bottles.  Scary picture - but notice the contrast between the glassy laminated bottles and matte drippy goo?  There's less reflection on the left bottle, but it's laminated too.

Cut Eerie Spiders from Black Glossy Paper.

Cut the ghost - from the new Haunting Ghosts die - from a white Delicate Pastel Glitter Pad 6x6.  Attach a scrap of black cardstock behind the eyes.  Cut the ghost again from black cardstock and attach it behind the glittered ghost for dimension.

Cut Intricate Mini Pumpkins from Orange Peel and Summer Squash cardstock.  Select pumpkins for the card and ink their edges with Summertime and Cheerful VersaFine Clair.

Cut the 3.3 x 4.7" Fringed Scalloped Frame from pale peach cardstock.  Stamp the greeting - from the new Magical Halloween Clear Stamp and Die Set - with Summertime VersaFine Clair.  Quickly emboss it with detail clear powder.

Attach the diecuts to a side-folded pale pink A2 card - use foam dots behind the ghost's head.

Need a vase die?  Cut just the bottle, without the drippy goo and leave the top of the bottle uninked.

Cauldron Witch – Simply Silhouetted by Jean Okimoto

The new Cauldron Witch can be artfully colored and shaded...or simply cut for a spooky silhouette design.  Add a bit of plaid, an ink-blended scrap of cardstock, glitter, pearlescent cardstock and Bright Jewels - all in a mix of black, orange, violet and purple.  Hi, Jean here with a simple Halloween design from the 2024 Fall Cornucopia Collection.

I used a scrap of white cardstock covered with violet, orange and dark pink ink - cut with the 2" wide Nested Globes die.  Smudge the edges with Electric Purple Radiant Neon ink.  Sounds scary, but it's a great color!

Cut the witch and cauldron from Glossy Black Paper (cardstock).  Cut the hatband, bubbles and boiling brew from the violet Rainbow Reflections 6x6.  Cut the hat from the black Glitzy Glitter Pad 6x6.  

Stamp the greeting - from the new Magical Halloween Clear Stamp and Die Set - on the new Lavender Bloom solid-core 100-lb cardstock with Nocturne VersaFine Clair.  Quickly heat-emboss it with detail clear powder.  Let it cool, then cut it with the coordinating die.  Cut the greeting shape again from black cardstock and layer it - slightly offset - for dimension.

Cut the violet/purple/gold Fuchsia Plaid 6x6 with the 2-½" wide Nested Globes die.  Cut the new Orange Peel cardstock with the 3" wide Nested Globes die. 

Attach the diecuts to a light kraft A2 card - use foam dots for the greeting.  Add violet Bright Jewels to three of the bubbles.  Cut an A2-sized piece of cardstock to protect the card front for mailing.

Highlight a spooky black silhouette with glitter, shimmer, glossy cardstock and sparkly jewels in a mix of bright colors.  Halloween says it's OK to over-bling and experiment with a mix of colors.

Potion Bottles + Cauldron = A Magical Halloween by Anne Thompson

There's a new collection from Memory Box--2024 Fall Cornucopia.  I've put together a Halloween card that uses the POTION BOTTLES 94847, the cauldron from CAULDRON WITCH 94849, and the sentiment "Have A Magical Halloween" from the MAGICAL HALLOWEEN CL5284 clear stamps set.

I started with a white side fold note card and added a piece of a dark plaid paper from YULETIDE PLAID PP1031 cut 5 1/4 X 4.

I cut a large circle from BLACK GLOSSY PAPER SH44004 and added that to the top of the note card.

I die cut the cauldron from CAULDRON WITCH 94849 and the POTION BOTTLES 94847 using watercolor paper.  I colored the pieces with a variety of inks using fingertip daubers.

I stamped "Have A Magical Halloween" on a scrap of white card stock using VersaFine Clair Nocturne (black) ink.  This is one of the sentiments  from the MAGICAL HALLOWEEN CL5284  clear stamps set.

Add the die cuts to the black glossy paper circle--I placed the cauldron in the upper left and the bottles in the lower right.  I used dimensional foam dots for the cauldron and the round bottle as well as the sentiment panel.

Halloween Scene Card by Sara Cook

Hi everyone!  There is a new Fall Cornucopia release today.  I have a scene card featuring the Cauldron Witch.  

Background:

Die cut acetate using a smaller die from the Circle Basics Set to create a moon mask.  Adhere temporary tape to the center and adhere to the upper left corner of an A2 white size card base.  Ink blend using Distress Oxide Ink, using the lighter ink around the moon and going out to the edges with the darker inks.  Colors are Dusty Concord, Villainous Potion and Black Soot.  Remove the mask and lightly ink blend with Lost Shadow around the moon and into the purple.  Use a small eraser and lightly remove some of the Lost Shadow ink to create the look of craters on the moon.  

Spiders:

Die cut spiders from dark grey card stock.  Add Glossy Accent to the top of the spider bodies and let air dry.

Focal Point:

Die cut the Cauldron Witch from heavy white card stock.  Die cut just the cauldron from the Black Glossy Paper.  Ink blend the witch with Oxide Ink with Dusty Concord and Villainous Potion for the hat and clothes.  For the face use Antique Linen.  Color in the hair with a black marker.  Ink the potion and bubbles with Distress ink  Twisted Citron and Forest Moss around the outside edges. Adhere the potion to the top of the cauldron.  

Frame:

Die cut the Birch Tree Trunks and the largest and 3 largest to create a frame from Black Glossy paper.  Adhere the 2 loose die cut trees to the backside of the frame on either side.  Adhere the other 3 tree cluster to the left center of the background. 

Hillside:

Fussy cut a hill into a heavy white card that is 4 1/4" wide to about 3" tall.  Ink blend with Distress Oxide inks from light to dark, Lost Shadow, Hickory Smoke, and then Black Soot.  

Assembly:

Adhere the background panel to an A2 top folding card. Adhere the hill side to the bottom of the panel.  Adhere the cauldron and witch to the center of the hill.  Add Glossy Accents to the potion and in the holes of the bubbles.  Adhere the frame with foam tape.  Add 2 spiders on the frame and 1 by the cauldron. Black heat emboss theWitching you a Happy a Halloween from the Magical Halloween stamp set on vellum.  Trim off the Witching You A and adhere to the trees.

"Somewhere over the rainbow, bluebirds..." Birthday Card by Anne Thompson

I decided today to try to make a musical birthday card using the WAVY SHEET MUSIC 94809, THE HUDDLED SPARROW 94838 and the WATCHFUL BIRD 94804 as bluebirds, (all from the Yuletide Collection), and the HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEBUT SCRIPT 94773. 

I began with a white side fold note card.  I die cut the WAVY SHEET MUSIC 94809 from BLACK GLOSSY PAPER SH44004 and added it to the front of the card.

I used the internet to find piano sheet music for "Over the Rainbow" and added the beginning notes and other marks to the top staff on the notecard.

I die cut the pieces for both the WATCHFUL BIRD 94804 and the HUDDLED SPARROW 94838 from white card stock.  I then looked at images of bluebirds on the internet to get their coloring somewhat close to normal.  I used colored pencils to color the parts before assembling them and added tiny black jewels for eyes.

I chose the HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEBUT SCRIPT 94773 for the sentiment, using a scrap of the black glossy paper for the background and a scrap of blue card stock from my scrap basket for the detailed lettering.  I added a light blue jewel to dot the i.

To assemble the card, I used dimensional foam dots to add the birds near the center of the card and more foam dots under the Happy Birthday which I placed on the last staff line.

I think I'll have to send this to someone who could play the notes on a piano and sing at least the first few words!

Watchful Bird On a Branch by Jean Okimoto

Plush felt and shimmery Rainbow Reflections cardstock add bright texture to a holiday greeting from our 2024 Yuletide Collection.  Golden pine branches and Fringed Scalloped Frames create a green-on-green backdrop for a festive bird.  Hi, Jean here with a simple holiday design from our latest release.

Attach adhesive label paper or a sticker sheet to bright red wool-blend felt and cut the large bird from the new Watchful Bird set.  Cut the detailed overlay from the red Rainbow Reflections 6x6.  There's an additional head overlay diecut but we're not using that here.  Cut the backing piece for the eye and beak from Glossy Black Paper (cardstock).  Push a toothpick thru the eye cutout of the main felt diecut to enlarge the opening.  Assemble the bird - attach the black diecut behind the head.

Cut the olive green pine print -  from the Yuletide Cheer 6x6 set -  with the smallest Fringed Scalloped Frame.  Cut two shades of green from the Greenery 6x6 Collection with the next 2 larger frames.

Attach the diecuts to a green notecard.  Add clear Christmas Fairy Dewdrops.  Cut an A2-sized piece of cardstock to protect the card front for mailing.

Holiday icon prints from the Yuletide Cheer 6x6's create great backgrounds for Watchful Bird.  Coordinate them with Fringed Scalloped Frames from the Greenery, Lagoon and Blush Collections for quick and easy holiday cards.

Lots of Butterflies in the Cottage Meadow by Anne Thompson

I made three kinds of butterflies this week and used them all on a card decorated with the Cottage Meadow Rub-Ons.

I started with a top-fold white A2 note card and added COTTAGE MEADOW RUB-ONS RUB104 on two of the corners.

Then I made all of the butterflies using Memory Box BLACK GLOSSY PAPER SH44004 for the bodies and wing details and watercolor paper for the wings.  I colored the wings using fingertip daubers and inks in shades of red and purple.

For each of the butterflies, I tweaked them a bit to have the top wings lap over the bottom ones a tiny bit before adding them to the note card.  After adding the butterflies I tucked in a few more of the blossom rub-ons.
