Reverse-Stenciling on Vellum by Jean Okimoto

Send springtime hugs with a reverse-stenciled Cheerful Floral vellum design from our Spring Cheer Collection.  Hi, Jean here with an easy way to add spring pastels to stamped images.

Prep heavy white vellum with the embossing powder tool to eliminate stray flecks of powder.  Stamp the Cheerful Floral design with VersaMark.  

I usually hide inky stencils - or at least clean them - but they're shown here because I used them in reverse to color the reverse side of the embossed design. Lay the stamped side of the vellum on a darker piece of cardboard for visibility.  Reverse-stenciling also protects the white embossing from ink stains and scratches.

Flip the stencils over and sponge or brush the reversed image with Brilliance inks.  Pearlescent Coral, Pearlescent Orchid, Pearlescent Orange, Pearlescent Lime and Sunflower Yellow were used here. The six smallest blossoms have some separate petals for different colors - I used Pearlescent Orange for all of the petals.

My Brilliance inkpads might be older than you are - but they're still great for stenciling after many years of use and occasional re-inking.  Wish they'd add some new colors!

Let the inks airdry.  Cut it with the stamp set's matching die.  Here's a tip...leave some un-taped edges near the bottom to give the die some wiggle-room as it goes through the machine.  

Cut Cream Woodgrain Paper (cardstock) with the 3-¼" x 4-½" A2 Rectangle Frames Die.

Stamp the greeting on natural cardstock with Pearlescent Lime and dry the ink.  Cut it with the die that's also included in the Cheerful Floral Clear Stamp Set.  Cut another background and layer it for dimension.

 

Stamp the rest of the greeting inside the card.

Attach the diecuts to a natural A6 card (4-½" x 6-¼") - use foam tape for the "hugs."  Add clear Christmas Fairy Dewdrops.  Cut an A6-sized piece of cardstock to protect the card front for mailing.

3D Embossed Window Card by Jean Okimoto

Add texture and dimension to a spring-themed window card with 3D embossing and iridescent glittered heat embossing.  Hi, Jean here with a monochromatic design from our Spring Cheer Collection.

There are several techniques here and it sounds complicated - but once you've made the card you'll be able to use the process with several Memory Box 3D Embossing Folder and Die sets.

Cut a sheet from the Twilight Purple Collection with the largest A2 Rectangle Frames Die Set.  Place the blossom die - from the Cheerful Floral 3D Embossing Folder and Die Set -  over the blossom on the top section of the folder.   Place the A2 rectangle face-down over the die.  Raise the bottom section of the folder up to  close the folder - keep it tightly-closed so the die doesn't move.  Turn everything over all at once.  Carefully open the folder and tape the die to the rectangle.  Diecut the blossom and remove it from the design.

Spritz both sides of the remaining rectangle with a light mist of water.  Place the rectangle on the bottom section of the folder - align the blossom "window"  with the design. Run it through the diecut machine using the plate(s) required for 3D folders.

Use a soft rubber brayer and a clean VersaMark inkpad to ink the blossom area on the top section of the folder.  Spritz the blossom diecut with water and align it over the blossom on the bottom section of the folder.  Close the folder and run it through the machine.  The blossom diecut will be embossed and inked with the VersaMark.  Quickly heat-emboss it with Imagine's Iridescent MBoss embossing powder.  It's a detail clear embossing powder with specks of iridescent glitter.  

Daub the center with Sunflower Yellow Brilliance.

Cut, score and fold a side-folded white A2 card.  Lay the embossed rectangle over the front of the card and slide the blossom die between the rectangle and card front.  Align it with the cutout.  Remove the rectangle, tape the die to the card and diecut the matching window on the card front.

Attach the blossom inside the card by passing it through the window.  Attach purple Autumn Fairy Crystals.  Cut an A2-sized piece of cardstock to protect the card front for mailing.

Stamp the greeting - from the Cheerful Floral Clear Stamp Set - on a sheet from the Twilight Purple Collection with Electric Purple Radiant Neon.  Heat-set the ink.  Cut it with the matching die from the stamp set.

 It's easier than it sounds here...trust me!

Embossed, Stenciled Spring Greetings by Jean Okimoto

Cut, 3d-emboss and stencil a fresh floral design from the Spring Cheer Collection and get ready to welcome the new season.  It's just 17 days away!  Hi, Jean here with a weekend project from our latest release.

Glue two layers of yellow cardstock together for dimension and cut it with the floral die fron the Cheerful Floral Clear Stamp Set.  Remove the tiny offcuts.  Spritz both sides of the diecut with a light mist of water and emboss it with the Cheerful Floral 3D Embossing Folder.

The Cheerful Floral 6x6 Art Stencil Set includes a colored, numbered illustrated guide. The numbers coordinate with the numbers cut into the stencils.  There's also a stencil that isn't completely cut out - don't remove the pieces (like I almost did!).  That special stencil can be used to mask and protect the adjacent areas when you're stenciling. 

Follow the numbered, illustrated color guide to color and shade the embossed design.  The guide shows different colors on the 6 small flowers - I used a single color for all of the petals and added pale yelllow-green Bright Jewels instead.  

Pearlescent Lime and Sunflower Yellow Brilliance inks were used.  Brilliance inks are great for stenciling - they're blendable, great for layering, heat-embossable if you're quick -  and several colors add a pearlescent luster.  

Cut yellow cardstock to 4-¼" x 9 -¾".  Score it at 4-¼" from the left edge.  Attach the floral diecut.  Add the jewels.

Stamp the greetings from the Cheerful Floral Clear Stamp Set on yellow cardstock with Pearlescent Thyme Brilliance - leave enough space around "means so much" to diecut it with the 2-½"  x 1-¼" A2 Rectangle Frames Die later.   Quickly heat-emboss them.  Cut "kindness" with the die that's included in the stamp set. Cut an extra rectangle and layer it for dimension.

Cut an A2-sized piece of cardstock to protect the card front for mailing.

These flowers can celebrate Easter, say thanks, convey birthday wishes or send hugs.  Create a stash of these in different colors and they'll be ready for any occasion.

Anemone Bird House by Trina Pham

Hello everyone.  It may be Valentine’s Day, but my card is not. 😂   I have a simple card with all the spring feels to share today using  Anemone Blooms and Elegant Anemone dies from the Anemone collection with the Woodgrain Bird House and Leaf Bunches  dies from the 2023 Christmas collection.  

All pieces were die cut from white cardstock paper and ink blended with dye inks using blending brushes.  Wilted Violet and Stormy Sky distress inks (DI) were used for the anemone flowers, Black Soot DI was used for shading on the bird house and two gradient green color dye inks from Altenew were used for the leaf bunches. 

Trimmed a 3/8” strip from white woodgrain paper for the bird house post and added shading to it as well using Black Soot DI.  Lightly ink blended Milled Lavender DI to the bottom of an A2 size Bristol panel before assembling the card onto a white card base.  I was going to leave the card blank, but went digging in my bits bag and found this Poppy Stamp gold foil Modest Greetings 1 sentiment that works nicely for many occasions.

Greetings in Green by Jean Okimoto

Add fresh color to a winter day with a White Anemone Rub On on a background of green plaids and prints.  Hi, Jean here with a fill-in post - and more mix-and-match ideas from our January Anemone Collection.

The Vintage Tray 3D Embossing Folder Set includes a great die for backgrounds, layers and collages.  Cut 6x6's from the Anemone Plaid and Anemone Grove sets with the tray die - no measuring, guessing or thinking required!  Save the extra pieces for future projects.

 

Cut white cardstock with the largest section of the tray too.  Cut the anemone rub on - leave a generous border.  Carefully remove the paper liner, then tap the design onto the cardstock.  The rub on set includes a wooden craft burnishing stick.  Running the rub on and cardstock thru a diecut machine gives great results too - just place it between sheets of printer paper and use the plates required for diecutting.  Carefully remove the frosty plastic liner.  

 

Stamp the greeting - from the Big and Little Reverse Words Clear Stamp Set - on light lime green cardstock with Pearlescent Ivy Brilliance.  Dry the ink, then trim the greeting with the tab die from the stamp set.

 

Attach the diecuts to a top-folded dark lime green A2 card - use foam tape for the greeting.  Add pale green Bright Jewels.  Cut an A2-sized piece of cardstock to protect the card front for mailing.

Sending Blooming Anemone Hugs by Trina Pham

Hello everyone.  I have a QACAS (quick and clean and simple) card to share today featuring the Blooming Anemone and Hugs Debut Script dies from the current Anemone release.

The anemone was die cut from white cardstock and its pieces were ink blended with Victorian Velvet, Seedless Preserves, Shabby Shutters and Black Soot distress inks (DI).

The Poppy Stamps stitched envelope was then die cut from white cardstock, followed by the “hugs” sentiment, which was die cut three times also from white, to stack for dimension.  Ink blended the top layer with Seedless Preserves DI, then adhered the stacked sentiment onto a pale plum cardstock piece that was trimmed down to fit the envelope.  Assembled the card onto a black A2 size panel, then added clear shimmer to the flower for some sparkle to finish.

Not gonna lie, this ended being more dramatic than intended. 🤷🏻‍♀️   And that does it  for my card.  Thank you for joining me today.  Have a wonderful weekend.

Reach out to someone you miss with a floral window card from our January Anemone Collection.  Hi, Jean here with a fresh pink friendship card from our latest release. The "missing" blossom is attached inside, visible thru the window - and there's space for a short note below it.  

Cut a 5" x 6" piece of white cardstock. It's easier to trim the extra cardstock later than it is to align everything perfectly.   Spritz both sides with a light mist of water. Leave at least ¾" of space on the left edge and emboss the cardstock with the new Anemone Bunches 3D Embossing Folder.  Cut the anemone with the larger die from the set.  Use an ink applicator or blending brush to color it with kitsch flamingo and bundled sage Distress Oxides.  Use a cotton swab to daub the center with Pearlescent Yellow Brilliance. 

Score the left edge ½" from the embossed design to create a tab.  Trim the cardstock to 5-½" x 4-¼" plus the ½" tab.  Attach the tab behind a 5-½" x 4-¼" piece of white cardstock for an A-2 card.

Close the card and attach the anenome diecut (excluding the delicate stem) through the opening.  Open the card and attach the stem.

Cut 2 of the Miss You Debut Script backgrounds from white cardstock.  Color 1 background with kitsch flamingo.  Cut the detailed top layer from white cardstock and color it with kitsch flamingo too.  Assemble the greeting - place the inked background slightly offset to the left for dimension and contrast against the white background.

Add pale green Bright Jewels.  Cut an A2-sized piece of cardstock to protect the card front for mailing.

Blooming Anemone Slimline by Jean Okimoto

Send warm winter hugs with the graceful Blooming Anemone from the January Anemone Collection.  The latest release is like an indoor garden  - pick your favorite colors, buds or blossoms and add them to greetings for any occasion.  Hi, Jean here - hoping to add some warmth and color to a frosty gray 37-degree day.

I've altered and repurposed several design elements here.  The stem is upside-down.  A petal diecut is also cut from green cardstock, trimmed, and rotated to become leaves.  The stamen is cut twice and layered.

Cut the Blooming Anemone blossom from a purple 6x6 in the Twilight Purple Collection. Sponge the stamen with black ink. 

Cut the stamen, stem, sepal and the 4-section petal from green cardstock. green   Remove the narrow and extra-wide sections of the petal diecut - the remaining pieces will be rotated and attached as leaves.  Sponge the green stamen with black ink too.

Cut the new Hugs Debut Script background from a pale lavender 6x6 in the Twilight Purple  Collection.  Cut the detailed top layer from the purple 6x6.

Cut the pale lavender 6x6 with the 1.1" wide Slim Basic Rectangle Layers die - the cardstock is slightly shorter than the die.

Cut the beautiful lavender and gold Anemone Grove scallop print with the same die - remove the sheet from the paper pad and use part of the top section too.

Attach the diecuts to a white slimline card (3-½" x 8-½").   Add gold Autumn Fairy Crystals.  Cut a slimline-sized piece of cardstock to protect the card front for mailing.

January Anemone Collection…from Bud to Blossom by Jean Okimoto

Anemones go from bud to bloom in minutes with the new White Anemone Rub Ons - like a time-lapse greeting.  Hi - Jean here - introducing more designs from our January Anemone Collection of versatile and beautiful dies, rub ons, 6x6 prints, 3D embossing folder & die sets, and a Rectangle Dot Border Foil Plate.

Cut white cardstock with the die from the Vintage Tray 3D Embossing Folder Set.  Cut the buds and tall blossom from the White Anemone Rub Ons.  It's a set of two rub on transfer sheets with beautiful floral and foliage images.  Leave a generous border around the designs.  Carefully remove the paper liner and tap the designs onto the white Vintage Tray rectangles.

The rub on set includes a wood craft burnishing stick to transfer the design. You'll also get perfect results using a diecut machine to press the design onto the cardstock - place the cardstock and rub on between two layers of printer paper and roll it through using the plates you'd use for diecutting.  Carefully remove the frosty plastic layer.

Cut a sheet from the Ocean Blue 6x6 Collection to 4-¼" x 5-½".  Spritz both sides with a light mist of water, then emboss it using the plate(s) required for your machine.  Air-dry it if it's still damp, then cut it with the Vintage Tray die. The Ocean Blue set includes several colors to complement the rub ons for custom-colored card fronts.

Attach the rub on rectangles to the blue rectangles.

Cut white cardstock with the Greetings Debut Script background die.  Cut the detailed top layer from the blue Glitzy Glitter Pad 6x6.  I love how the tiny dot for the "i" is attached as a drop-down section from the "t" - no tiny little dots here!

Cut a slightly darker Ocean Blue Collection 6x6 with the largest A2 Rectangle Frames die for a perfect fit and smooth edges.  Attach it to a top-folded white A2 card.

Attach the diecuts to the card - use foam tape for the greeting.  Add clear Christmas Fairy Dewdrops.  Cut an A2-sized piece of cardstock to protect the card front for mailing.

The White Anemone Rub Ons have a soft matte look to enhance your cards.  Use them in groups - or spotlight them individually.  Add one of the 8 new greetings from the collection...and your card is ready to go!

Cut the new Hello Debut Script background from light yellow/green cardstock.  Cut the detailed top layer from a green Graceful Garden Glitter Pad 6x6.

Emboss green cardstock with the Vintage Tray 3D Embossing Folder.  Cut it with the coordinating die from the set.  Cut the green plaid from the new Anemone Plaid 6x6 with the Vintage Tray die too.  The tray die eliminates guessing, measuring...and best of all, thinking!

Attach the diecuts to a yellow/green A6 card (4-½"x 6-¼") - use foam dots for the greeting and anemone petals.  Add green Bright Jewels.  Cut an A6-sized piece of cardstock to protect the card front for mailing.
