Birch Tree Forest Cardinal
by Trina Pham

IMG_3101

Hello everyone.  Keeping the bird theme going, I have a vintage brown and red Christmas card to share today featuring the Layered Cardinal die and Birch Tree Forest embossing folder (EF) from the current 2023 Christmas release

The Layered Cardinal, Classic Pine Needle Sprigs and pine cones were all die cut from white paper then ink blended with distress inks (DI) using blending brushes:

reds - Abandoned Coral, Lumberjack Plaid
brown - Gathered Twigs
black - Black Soot
yellow - Fossilized Amber

IMG_3102

The background was created by “stamping” with the EF.  Inked the flat side of the EF with Brushed Corduroy and Gathered Twigs DI, spritz with water then pressed onto watercolor paper.  Just like you would for the stencil monoprint technique, except with an EF… so EF monoprint! 🤗

IMG_3100

Left the panel to air dry then trimmed down to A2 size before black heat embossing the sentiment from Shining Star with clear glitter embossing powder directly on the panel for a bit of sparkle.  Assembled the card onto a white card base to finish.

IMG_3103
That does it for my card.  Thank you for joining me today.  Have a wonderful day.

Pink Christmas Hummingbird House
by Trina Pham

IMG_3067

Hello everyone.  October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, and in support, I created a monochromatic pink Christmas card using several new products from the current 2023 Christmas release.

The Woodgrain Bird House, Layered Hummingbird and Classic Pine Needle Sprigs were all die cut out from white paper.  Colored them with Picked Raspberry and Black Soot distress inks (DI) using various blending brushes.  The snowy layer on the roof was die cut a second time from pink Delicate Pastel glitter paper for some sparkle.

IMG_3068

After seeing a post recently on a crafty friend’s blog, the Torn Paper Mask technique was used to create the cloud background.  This was done by ink blending Spun Sugar DI over the edges of torn printer paper… so no need for a cloud edge stencil! 🤗

IMG_3070

The cloud background was then die cut down with the third largest A2 Rectangle Frames die.  Assembled the card onto an A2 size white woodgrain panel and added falling snow with a white gel pen (even on the die cut pieces because snow doesn’t avoid them). 😉  A Merry Christmas Foil Greetings Black Tab finished it off.

IMG_3069

A quick note…  I will be linking this card to the Pink Christmas challenge at Jingle Belles where $4 per card entered will be donated to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Fun creating a pink (or predominantly pink) Christmas card while helping fundraise for the Cure?… it’s a win-win!  That does it from me.  Thank you for joining me today.  Have a wonderful weekend.

Capture the colors of a autumn sunset on a background for the new Gypsy Oak Leaves.  Heat-embossed speckles and the new Happy Fall Posh Script greeting add golden highlights.  Hi, Jean here - with another way to use the great new die from the Vintage Tray 3D Embossing Folder set.

Attach Vintage Tray 3D Embossing Folder die to smooth white cardstock and create ink-blended blocks of warm fall pastels.  Distress Oxides were used here - spiced marmalade, kitsch flamingo, wild honey and dried marigold.  Remove and clean the die and heat-set the inks.

The new Snow Flurries Stencil is great for random scattered speckles  - perfect for those of us who are ink-splatter-challenged.  Stencil a few of the dots with VersaMark and heat-emboss them with detail gold powder.  Diecut the blocks - save the extras for another project.

Cut Gypsy Oak Leaves from light- and medium-coral cardstock.  Assemble the leaves - slightly offset.

Glue 2 layers of white cardstock together and diecut the Happy Fall Posh Script Background.  Pressure-emboss it with the detailed greeting using the rubber embossing mat and plate(s) required for your machine.  Cut the detailed greeting from the gold Rainbow Reflections Mirror Pad 6x6.

Attach the diecuts to a white A6 card (6-¼" x 4-½").  Add light gold Autumn Fairy Crystals.  Cut an A6-sized piece of cardstock to protect the card front for mailing.

Fall Greetings by Jean Okimoto

Celebrate the change of seasons with Gypsy Oak Leaves and warm fall colors - highlight the earthy colors with shimmery, glittery accents for extra sparkle.  Hi, Jean here with a quick switch to fall designs from our Christmas 2023 Collection.   I got off to a quick start with a hoarded sheet of ink-blended Open Studio Watercolor Paper in great fall colors.

MemoryBoxChristmas2023, MemoryBoxHappyFallPoshScript, MemoryBoxGypsyOakLeaves, MemoryBoxA2RectangleFramesDieSet, MemoryBoxSnowFlurriesStencil, MemoryBoxAutumnFairyCrystals, MemoryBoxRainbowReflectionsMirrorPad, MemoryBoxGlitzyGlitterPad, JeanOkimoto, MemoryBoxCo, DiecutCards, DiecutLeaves, LeafCard, DiecutGreetings, InkBlending, HandmadeFallCards, Cardmaking, GlitteredDiecuts

Stencil it with a few random dots of VersaMark using the new Snow Flurries Art Stencil.  Heat-emboss the stenciled dots with detail gold powder for a loose, speckled look.

Cut three solid background Gypsy Oak Leaves.  Cut the detailed overlay leaves from the gold Rainbow Reflections 6x6.

Cut kraft cardstock with the 1-¾" and 1-¼" wide A2 Rectangle Frames Dies.

Glue two layers of kraft cardstock together and cut the new Happy Fall Posh Script background.  Spritz both sides with a light mist of water.  Pressure-emboss it with the detailed overlay script background using the rubber embossing mat and plate(s) required for your machine.  Cut the detailed script from the orange Glitzy Glitter Pad 6x6.  Assemble the greeting.  Pressure-embossing the background is an extra step - but the detailed layer fits snugly into the debossed letters for easy assembly.

Attach the diecuts to an orange A2 card - use foam tape for the leaf tips.  Add coppery Autumn Fairy Crystals.  Cut an A2-sized piece of cardstock to protect the card front for mailing.

Fall Blessings
by Trina Pham

IMG_2627

Hello everyone.  Pumpkins are not just for Halloween. 😉  I’m using the Autumn Pumpkin die from the 2023 Fall collection again, and this time using it to create a fall / thanksgiving card.

All images / pieces were die cut from various white paper and/or cardstock.  Ink blending with blending brushes and distress inks (DIs) were used to color them, except for the pumpkin and leaves.  Copic Sketch markers E41/43, W3 and BG99 were used to color the white pumpkin, while the orange leaves were done by ink smooshing diluted Spiced Marmalade and Rusty Hinge DIs.  The large Layered Daisies were die cut three times and their centers were from Riverbank Large Layered Blooms.

DIs used include:
large daisies - Kitsch Flamingo, Picked Raspberry, Gathered Twigs
small daisies - Mustard Seed, Wilted Violet
Layered Greenery Stems - Iced Spruce

IMG_2628

The Mini Varsity Alphabet letters were die cut from gold Vintage Pastel Mirror paper and adhered onto a dark brown cardstock strip.  The background panel is cream woodgrain paper scored vertically at 1” intervals, then an Antique Linen DI cube was dragged direct-to-paper down its length to help bring out the woodgrain texture.  Assembled the card onto a cream color card base to finish.

IMG_2624

That does it for my card.  Thank you for joining me today.  Have a wonderful week,

A lineup of Halloween icons fills a slimline card from end to end on an "everything" card.  Hi, Jean here with a very layered collection of fall diecuts featuring my favorite ghosts with new designs from our latest release.

Cut kraft cardstock with the 7-⅞" x 2-⅞" Wrapped Stitched Slim Rectangle die.  Attach it to a kraft slimline card (8-½" x 3-⅝").

Cut Layered Greenery Stems from black cardstock and the black Glitzy Glitter Pad 6x6.

Cut the ghosts - from the Ghosts in the Forest set - from the textured side of Open Studio Watercolor Paper.  Attach scraps of black cardstock behind the faces.

Cut Boiling Cauldron from Black Glossy Cardstock.  Cut the dripping overflow from the lime green Graceful Garden Glitter Pad 6x6.  Cut the standing bubbles from the chartreuse Rainbow Reflections 6x6.  Assemble the cauldron and bubbles - I trimmed the bottom edge of the tall bubbles a bit.

Cut Autumn Pumpkin from the dark orange 6x6 in the Sunny Orange Collection.  Cut the leaves and tendril from the chartreuse Rainbow Reflections sheet.

Cut Large Layered Witch Hat from black cardstock.  Cut the vertical trim from the black Glitzy Glitter Pad sheet.  Cut the hatband from the orange Rainbow Reflections sheet.

Assemble the stems, pumpkin, and hat.  Attach the diecuts to the Wrapped Stitched Slim Rectangle - use foam tape for the ghosts' heads.

Halloween seems like a great reason to fill a card from one end to the other with a variety of diecuts.  Our Fall '23 Collection has the perfect designs for that!

Ghost buddies share the new Large Layered Witch Hat beside a windblown, tumbled cluster of Layered Greenery Stems.  Glitzy Glitter Pad and Rainbow Reflections Mirror Pad diecuts -  and purple Autumn Fairy Crystals - brighten this fall scene.  Hi, Jean here with an un-scary design for Halloween.

MemoryBoxLargeLayeredWitchHat, MemoryBoxLayeredGreeneryStems, MemoryBoxGhostsInTheForest, MemoryBoxNestedGlobes, MemoryBoxAutumnFairyCrystals, MemoryBoxGlitzyGlitterPad, MemoryBoxWhiteWoodgrainPaper, MemoryBoxRainbowReflectionsMirrorPad, MemoryBoxSunnyOrangeCollection, JeanOkimoto, HalloweenDiecuts, HandmadeHalloweenCards, DiecutCards, SquareCards, CardmakingIdeas, Cardcrafting, HalloweenCrafts, ImpressCardsAndCrafts

Cut Layered Greenery Stems from gray cardstock and the black Glitzy Glitter Pad 6x6.  Pair the gray and glittered stems.

Cut the ghosts - from the Ghosts in the Forest set - from White Woodgrain paper (cardstock) and black cardstock.  I cut them from different sections of the woodgrain cardstock for contrasting textures.  Attach a scrap of black cardstock behind their faces.  Layer the black ghosts behind the white ones for dimension and contrast.

Cut Large Layered Witch Hat from black cardstock.  Cut the vertical trim from the Glitzy Glitter Pad black 6x6.  Cut the hatband from the orange Rainbow Reflections 6x6.  Assemble the hat.

Cut the 2" wide Nested Globes from a Sunny Orange Collection 6x6.

Attach the diecuts to a top-folded 5-¼" square card.  Square cards require extra postage and handling - but some designs just look better on a square.

Add purple Autumn Fairy Crystals for a sparkly contrast.  Cut a 5-¼" square of cardstock to protect the card front for mailing.

Thanks for visiting - have a great weekend!

The Witch's Pumpkin Patch
by Anne Thompson

Cool evenings and not-too-hot days along with new materials from Memory Box make it easier to create fall cards in August.  I cut dies multiple times and stacked them for dimension to create this view of the Witch's Pumpkin Patch.

IMG_2017-ink

  • I started with a plain white note card and added LAYERED GREENERY STEMS 94694 cut from a bright green paper from the LUSH COLLECTION SP1003 and again from a green plaid from MAGNOLIA PLAID PP1021.
  • I added them to the lower left and staggered them a bit to show off both papers.

IMG_2009-ink (1)

  • Next I cut the AUTUMN PUMPKIN 94690 twice from an orange card stock in the SUNNY ORANGE COLLECTION SP 1002 which I layered together and then I added it again cut from a coral plaid from MADRAS PLAID CORAL AND GREEN PP1013.
  • I added the pumpkin to the lower right corner.

0-ink

  • Next I cut the LARGE LAYERED WITCH HAT 94693 three times from black card stock.
  • I glued the base hats together.
  • Then I glued all three layers of the accent piece to the left side of the hat and added the three layers of the hat band.

IMG_2013-ink

  • I tucked the tendril from the pumpkin under the hat band and added two of the layered leaves to the hat band as well.
  • I glued the hat to the pumpkin at an angle.
  • I placed the extra leaf among the stems.

IMG_2015-ink

  • I used a black pen to write "The Witch's Pumpkin Patch" on a scrap of orange card stock which I trimmed and mounted on a piece of black card stock and then trimmed that, too, before adding it to the card at a bit of an angle.

IMG_2017-ink

So much dimension on this card!  Fun!!!

Happy Crafting!
