Budding Gladiola Stem Birthday by Trina Pham

Hello everyone.  I am sharing another super quick CAS (clean and simple) card today, but without the drama. 😂  It features the new Budding Gladiola Stem die from the current 2024 Gladiola release.

The Budding Gladiola Stem was die cut twice from red Blush and green Greenery color papers.  Ink blended the respective pieces with Lumberjack Plaid and Rustic Wilderness distress inks for dimension.  Glued the layers together to form the flowers and foliage.

The white woodgrain background panel was scored at 3/4” intervals.   Added three gold cords across the panel, then adhered the flowers and foliage.  Attached the foiled circle greeting tab on top to finish.

Garden Greetings…New Blossom and Butterflies by Jean Okimoto

Designs from the new Gladiola Collection are great for slimline cards.  Layer the tall, elegant blossoms over a matching Gladiola Plaid background - then add a pair of the new Exquisite Butterflies and a Thank You Foil Greetings Circle.  Hi, Jean here with another design from our latest release.

Spray a pale pink ink-blended scrap of cardstock with a spritz of Imagine's Gold Sheer Spritz and set it aside to dry.  Cut Gladiola Blossom and Leaves stamens from the dark gray Festive Glitter Pad 6x6.  Cut the leaves from dark gray cardstock.  Cut the blossom from the gold-spritzed cardstock.

A simple tip shared earlier...cut a matching circle of cardstock slightly smaller than the finished gladiola.  Use it as a base to adhere and assemble the blossom.  It adds dimension - and makes it easy to find the perfect spot and angle for the blossom.

Another simple tip...attach the stamen pieces behind the top-layered petal instead of on the background petals.  No guessing how much of it will be visible - and if any glue will ooze out! 

Cut the detailed Exquisite Butterflies from a gold Rainbow Reflections Pad 6x6.  We're just using these 2 here - save the others for another project.  

Cut the pink Gladiola Plaid with the 1-⅝" wide Slim Basic Rectangle Layers die.  The die is longer than the plaid - but it's easier to cut a straight plaid piece with the die - just place a short edge of the die against the top edge of the plaid.  Cut a dark pink Blush Collection 6x6 with the ⅞" wide Slim Basic Rectangle Layers die.  

Attach the diecuts to a white slimline card ( 3-½" x 8-½").  Add a Thank You Foil Greetings Black Circle Tab and gold Treasure Chest Fairy Gemstone.  Cut a slimline-size piece of cardstock to protect the card front for mailing.

Blossoms and Birthday Wishes by Jean Okimoto

Celebrate a spring birthday with flowers, plaids and an extra-thick gold foiled circle Greeting Tab.  They're precut and ready to go - 4 each of 9 great typefaces in traditional, elegant and contemporary styles for everyone on your birthday list.  Hi, Jean here with a slimline birthday greeting today.

 

Cut the new Clara Blooms twice from a pale lavender/blue Twilight Purple Collection 6x6.  Assemble the flowers - save the extra one for another project.  Ink the center diecuts with Sunflower Yellow Brilliance.  

Cut matching cardstock circles - about ⅝" in diameter - to use as a base for the flowers.  Cover the circle with adhesive, then attach the petals. Highlight the centers with a bit of Pearlescent Lavender Brilliance ink.  Attaching the petals to a base makes it easy to ink the centers and adds dimension.  

Cut the large stem section from the Fresh Cut Stems set - from a medium-green 6x6 in the Greenery Collection.

Glue the center back of the assembled flowers over the stems  - the petals will curl upwards for a natural look.  You won't even need foam tape!

Cut a blue/lavender Anemone Plaid 6x6 with the 1-⅜" x 6-⅜" Slim Basic Rectangles die - cut it vertically including the extra portion at the top edge of the sheet.

Cut a smoky blue 6x6 from the Stormy Blue Colllection with the smallest Wrapped Stitched Slim Rectangle die.

Cut a 1-¼" wide strip of the  light violet/purpled 6x6 from the Twilight Purple Collection with the short end of the largest Wrapped Stitched Slim Rectangle die. 

Attach the diecuts to a white slimline card (3-½" x 8-½").  Add a Happy Birthday Foil Greetings Circle Tab.  Add purple Autumn Fairy Crystals.  Cut a slimline-sized piece of cardstock to protect the card front for mailing.

Foil Greeting Tabs save time and effort and are available in a variety of typefaces on heavyweight pre-cut circles and strips for birthdays and thank-yous.  They'll add the perfect finishing touch to your handcrafted cards.

Cheerful Floral Hugs by Trina Pham

Hello and happy Good Friday to those who celebrate!  I’m using the Cheerful Floral stamp set again, but this time, I also used it with the coordinating layering stencil set.

The floral image was stamped off-the-edge with Fade Out ink onto a Bristol panel for a no-line coloring look.   A light color dye ink would work as well.  Then following most of the steps from the stencil guide, ink blended gradient colors of dye inks in pink, purple, yellow, green and gray over the stencils.   I decided to keep the leaves simpler, skipped the layers for the leaves and ink blended in the center vein.

Once the coloring/stencilling was completed, masked the image with the included mask and applied gray ink around the image to give it more dimension and help ground it a bit.  Stamped the sentiment with black pigment ink directly on the panel and heat embossed it with clear glitter embossing  powder.  Hugs was an unused piece from my stash that had been die cut out with the matching die.  Adhered the panel to a white card base to finish.

Sitting Sparrow in Blooms by Trina Pham

Hello everyone.   With spring about to officially arrive in a few days, I have a spring card to share today featuring the Sitting Sparrow, Clara Blooms, and Berry Branches and Leaves craft dies from last month’s 2024 Spring Cheer collection.

Once again, all pieces were die cut from white.  The sparrow and blooms were ink blended with browns and turquoise dye inks, respectively.  The leaves were colored with Copic Sketch markers (YG07/09, G09, BG05).   Left the berry branches white.

The background was created by ink blending two gradient colors of green dye inks to give a spotlight effect.  For some interest and texture, splattered it with diluted white and black gouache paint.  Die cut the sentiment from black glossy paper and its shadow from white, then assembled the card onto a white card base to finish.

Embossed, Stenciled Spring Greetings by Jean Okimoto

Cut, 3d-emboss and stencil a fresh floral design from the Spring Cheer Collection and get ready to welcome the new season.  It's just 17 days away!  Hi, Jean here with a weekend project from our latest release.

Glue two layers of yellow cardstock together for dimension and cut it with the floral die fron the Cheerful Floral Clear Stamp Set.  Remove the tiny offcuts.  Spritz both sides of the diecut with a light mist of water and emboss it with the Cheerful Floral 3D Embossing Folder.

The Cheerful Floral 6x6 Art Stencil Set includes a colored, numbered illustrated guide. The numbers coordinate with the numbers cut into the stencils.  There's also a stencil that isn't completely cut out - don't remove the pieces (like I almost did!).  That special stencil can be used to mask and protect the adjacent areas when you're stenciling. 

Follow the numbered, illustrated color guide to color and shade the embossed design.  The guide shows different colors on the 6 small flowers - I used a single color for all of the petals and added pale yelllow-green Bright Jewels instead.  

Pearlescent Lime and Sunflower Yellow Brilliance inks were used.  Brilliance inks are great for stenciling - they're blendable, great for layering, heat-embossable if you're quick -  and several colors add a pearlescent luster.  

Cut yellow cardstock to 4-¼" x 9 -¾".  Score it at 4-¼" from the left edge.  Attach the floral diecut.  Add the jewels.

Stamp the greetings from the Cheerful Floral Clear Stamp Set on yellow cardstock with Pearlescent Thyme Brilliance - leave enough space around "means so much" to diecut it with the 2-½"  x 1-¼" A2 Rectangle Frames Die later.   Quickly heat-emboss them.  Cut "kindness" with the die that's included in the stamp set. Cut an extra rectangle and layer it for dimension.

Cut an A2-sized piece of cardstock to protect the card front for mailing.

These flowers can celebrate Easter, say thanks, convey birthday wishes or send hugs.  Create a stash of these in different colors and they'll be ready for any occasion.

Spring Cheer and Garden Greetings by Jean Okimoto

 

Extra petals become buds for a spring greeting featuring the new Clara Blooms and Solid Core 6x6 Collections. They're arranged on a gold-speckled background created to match the new Black Circle Thank You Foil Greeting Tabs.  Hi, Jean here with a floral Friday idea to start your weekend.

(The new Thank You Foil Greetings Black Circle Tabs are already pre-cut and ready to attach - the Circle Basics set shown above is used to cut a large background circle.)

Cut Clara Blooms from two shades of peachy-pink Blush Collection 6x6's.  Cut the centers from black cardstock.  Assemble two large and one medium blossom.  Trim the petals of the extra blossom to create buds.

Ciut Backyard Floral Stems from a medium-green 6x6 in the new Greenery Collection.  

Glue two pieces of white cardstock together for dimension and diecut them with the second-largest Circle Basics die.  Trim about ½" from one side with the largest Square Basics die for a crisp, smooth edge.  Add a few dotty specks of Imagine's Gold Sheer Shimmer Spritz.  Air-dry it for a few minutes, then finish it off with a heat-tool.  Attach it to a top-folded white A2 card.

Attach the Fresh Cut Stems, Clara Blooms and buds - use bits of foam tape for some of the petals. Add a Black Circle Tab Thank You with foam tape.

Celebrate Easter with the Sitting Sparrow by Jean Okimoto

A watercolored Sitting Sparrow welcomes spring with a nestful of glittery eggs and delicate budding branches.  These great new designs are from February's Spring Cheer Collection of dies, 6x6 solid-core cardstock assortments, 3D embossing folders, layering stencils, clear stamp and die sets and versatile time-saving Foil Greeting Tabs.  Hi, Jean here with an Easter slimline card featuring more of these great new items.

Found a piece of pastel watercolored paper in my stash and loved the soft spring pastels!  Cut Sitting Sparrow from the watercolored paper.  Cut the beak backing section from an orange-yellow Sunrise 6x6 sheet.  Color the area for the eye with a black marker.  Assemble the sparrow and attach the beak section behind the head.

Cut and assemble Bird's Nest from light kraft cardstock.

Cut Berry Branches and Leaves from a Greenery 6x6 sheet.  Save the leaves for another project.

Cut the eggs from the new Woven Basket of Eggs set.  The blue eggs are from the Glitzy Glitter Pad.  The pink, yellow and green eggs are from Graceful Garden Glitter Pad.

Cut the second-largest Wrapped Stitched Slim Rectangle from yellow cardstock.

Cut the new Happy Easter Curled Script from the Greenery 6x6.  All of the new 6x6 color assortments are 110 lb. cardstock - sturdy and perfect for cutting delicate greetings!

 

Attach the diecuts to a yellow slimline card (3-⅝" x 8-½") - use foam tape for Sitting Sparrow.  Add green Christmas Fairy Dewdrops.  Cut a slimline-sized piece of cardstock to protect the card front for mailing.

Festive Bunny Happy Easter by Anne Thompson

I have an Easter card for today's post that features the dressed up Festive Bunny from the newest Memory Box collection--Festive Spring Cheer.

to make this card

• start by selecting one of the plaid papers from Anemone Plaid, trim it to 5 1/4 X 4 and add it to the front of a white note card  (mine is a top-fold card)
• die cut all of the Festive Bunny parts--the body of the bunny from two shades of gray or brown cardstock; the vest and the arms that show the gloves from white cardstock; the coat parts from two shades of violet cardstock
• assemble the bunny body and add a black jewel for his eye
• and then dress the bunny--I actually put the clothes together and added them to the bunny as a completed unit
• use dimensional foam to attach the bunny to the left side of the note card

• die cut the Berry Branches and Leaves from one of the dark teal cardstocks
• add the branches to the upper right corner of the note card and then add the leaves at the branch tips
• add Fairy Jewels to each of the berries on the branches
• die cut the Happy Easter Curled Script from a scrap of the same cardstock used for the darkest color of the coat
• use a glue pen to add it to the lower right part of the note card

Anemone Bird House by Trina Pham

Hello everyone.  It may be Valentine’s Day, but my card is not. 😂   I have a simple card with all the spring feels to share today using  Anemone Blooms and Elegant Anemone dies from the Anemone collection with the Woodgrain Bird House and Leaf Bunches  dies from the 2023 Christmas collection.  

All pieces were die cut from white cardstock paper and ink blended with dye inks using blending brushes.  Wilted Violet and Stormy Sky distress inks (DI) were used for the anemone flowers, Black Soot DI was used for shading on the bird house and two gradient green color dye inks from Altenew were used for the leaf bunches. 

Trimmed a 3/8” strip from white woodgrain paper for the bird house post and added shading to it as well using Black Soot DI.  Lightly ink blended Milled Lavender DI to the bottom of an A2 size Bristol panel before assembling the card onto a white card base.  I was going to leave the card blank, but went digging in my bits bag and found this Poppy Stamp gold foil Modest Greetings 1 sentiment that works nicely for many occasions.
