Floral and Plaid Birthday Card
by Angie Cimbalo

2

Hello and welcome, it's Angie here today with a fun floral birthday card using lots of dies, some plaid paper, along with clear drops!  I loved putting this card together and plan to send it to a special friend!

The rectangle layers include white card stock die cut with the "Leaf Pinpoint Die" then with one of the "Wrapped Stitched" rectangle die, black card stock and plaid paper. On top of that I added flowers and greenery cut with spring release dies, "Daisy Stems", "Dreamy Freesia" and "Lavender Stems" dies. The were cut from colored card stock from Memory Box and inked with Distress Inks and added highlights made with Zig Clean Color markers.

The sentiment is from "Reverse Big & Little Words" and the center of the flowers have the new "Clear Fairy Drops" in the largest size. I love the way they look on cards! Here's one last look at my card:

by Angie Cimbalo

Hello and welcome, it's Angie here today with this underwater scene card featuring the brand new 3D "Underwater" embossing folder. I combined it with lots of other Memory Box supplies. I also have a short video showing how I made this card:

In the video above, you can see how I used inks plus water and paint brushes with watercolors and and Fairy Sugar dew drops to enhance the detailed embossing you get with these 3D folders.    Here's a closer look at my card:

And don't you just love the new clear jewels that were just released?  They really make the scene come alive and look like real water droplets on the card.  This card was a lot of fun to create! I have linked my supplies below if you are interested in them.

I Think of You - Ocean Themed Card - Video
by Angie Cimbalo

Hello and welcome, it's Angie here today with an ocean-themed card featuring brand new dies from the 2021 Under the Sea release.  This release is full of amazing new ocean themed dies, shape dies, new 3D embossing folders, woodgrain paper, and a new line of self-adhesive gems/droplets.  For my card I used several of the ocean themed dies along with self-adhesive clear droplets - which come in a handy 3 size pack!

Here's a quick video showing how I made my card:

Here's a close up view:

I used a lot of ink blending and smooshing to make this card and I love how the clear droplets take on the color under them, so they will match any project you use them on!

The sentiment is from the Birch Press Designs set "Crystal Lingo," heat embossed on black card stock.

I hope you like my card!  I had so much fun creating it!

Lemon-yellow Gerber blossoms bloom along a bright pastel Crystal Border in mix of angles+curves, brights+white, glitter+foil...all on a short slimline card!  Hi, Jean Okimoto here with a design ready to welcome Spring.

MemoryBoxCrystalBorder, MemoryBoxGerberStems, MemoryBoxFrostedGlitterPad, MemoryBoxLushGreenCollection, MemoryBoxPolishedFoilPad, PoppystampsDiamondSentimentsClearStampAndDieSet, FlowerDiecuts, PaperPiecing, GlitteredDiecuts, InkBlending, JeanOkimoto, DiecutBorders, VersaFineClair, ImpressCardsAndCrafts, StampsAndMemoriesHawaii

Cut a 6-¼" x 7-½" sheet of white cardstock.   Score it (horizontally) at ¾" and 4-¼".  Cut Crystal Border about ¾" to the right of the ¾" scoreline.  We're using just the cutout here. Cut a 3-½" x 6-¼" piece of smooth white cardstock.  Attach it to the ¾" tab to create the back of the card.

Cut Crystal Border again from the gold sheet in the 6x6 Polished Foil pad - we're using the delicate cutout.

Cut Crystal Border again from smooth white cardstock covered with blended inks in shades of pink, peach, teal, yellow and green - remove the delicate outline but keep the diecut pieces in the die for easy re-assembly later.  My inked paper stash somehow included at sheet of blended inks with sections that matched the pattern of the Crystal Border - it was a lucky day.

Attach a wide strip of lined doublestick tape behind the Crystal Border cutout - the adhesive will be visible in the cutout on the card front.  Save the paper tape liner.

Press the delicate gold Crystal Border onto the exposed adhesive in the cutout. Press it with the paper tape liner.

Attach the little pieces to the adhesive in each section - then press everything with the saved paper tape liner.

Cut just the tops of the Gerber Stems from the yellow 6x6 sheet in the Frosted Glitter Pad.  Cut the whole Gerber stems and small leafy stem from a green sheet in the Lush Green Collection.  Attach the yellow flower tops to the green flowers, slightly offset.  Attach the flowers to the card, then add the small leafy stem.

Stamp the greeting - from the new Poppystamps Diamond Sentiments Clear Stamp and Die Set - on white cardstock with Shady Lane VersaFine Clair.  Dry the ink and punch or cut a 1-¼" circle.  Cut another 1-¼" circle from a scrap of the inked paper and attach it - slightly offset - behind the greeting circle to add dimension.

Add ¼" dots punched from the chartreuse sheet in the Frosted Glitter Pad.

Our latest Collection's floral dies can be used in so many ways...diecut your favorite flowers, add colors, and arrange them on Spring cards for quick greetings.

Thanks for visiting  - have a great weekend!

I love the variety of flowers and leafs all the new dies from Memory Box's Spring 2021 release have.  Adding those together with the bold look of stamping words from the "Crystal Lingo" set from Birchtree Press on black card stock makes for a very striking design!  Here's one last look at my card for today:

Wildflower Garden Gate Card with Video
by Sara Cook

Hi everyone.  Hope everyone is doing well.  I am having fun with all the new wild flower dies from the spring release.  I have gone a little "crazy" and created a wild flower garden with a gate fold.  This is going to be a long project but worth it in the end!

E9A12AB7-5DDE-418B-877A-BB344B0D4000_1_201_a

Card base:

Cut 80 lb card base to 5 1/2 tall by 8 and 3/4" wide. Score along the width at 2 1/8" and 2 1/4" flip the base around to score the other end at the same measurements.  Cut at the 2/14" down to 1/2" and cut into the 2 1/4" leaving a 1/2" flap.  Fold on the 2 score lines. The 1/2" flaps are for the outer grass and gate.

Flowers:

For the shaping of the flowers you will need 2 stylist small and medium large and a foam pad.  Lightly mist the flowers before shaping them. This will help the paper fold without cracking.  Below is the paper color and technique used with each die.  When die cutting the flower stems  (except the lavender) position the die to get a small section of the flower base to glue the flower on.

Seed Stems Die: Die cut white 110lb paper for the seeding flower and the darkest mossy green from the Lush Green paper pack for the stem.  To color the flower base use Antique Linen distress marker to color all put the stem.  Then take a water brush and lightly blend the ink.  Color the seeds using Rosewood Marvy marker.  No shaping needed for this flower.  Just glue the flower to the stem.  You will need 2 to 3 of these flowers.

Lavender Stem Die: Die cut just the flower from the a shade lighter than the deepest purple from the Ocean Blue paper back. Die cut the full flower and stem from the darker light yellow green from Such green paper pack. Trim any excess stem from the flower portion. Color the flower part of the green stem with Violet Marvy marker, making sure to go around the sides of the paper.   Shape the flower from the backside using the smallest stylist from pulling from the end of the flower to the center. From the front side use the smallest stylist to flatten out just the center of the flower.  Glue on the stem.  it will not perfectly line up because we want to show some of the darker color, shadows, to give the flower depth.  You will need 6.

Wildflower Stems: Die cut the small flower from the 2nd lightest pink from Vibrant Violet paper pack and die cut the smaller flower from the  lightest pink from Vibrant Violet paper pack.  Die cut the stem and leaves die from the darkest green from the Lush Green paper pack. Color the small flower Bubblegum Pink Marvy marker, flicking the color from the base of the flower to halfway up the petals.  Use the same process for the larger flower but with Worn Lipstick Distress marker. Take a water brush and lightly blend the ink.  Shape the smallest flower from the backside, use the smallest stylist to pull down from top of each petal to the base of flower.  Take the larger stylist and use circular motions at the base to "cup" the flower. Set aside. For the larger flower trim off any excess stems and shape from the front of the flower using the same technique as the small flower.  Glue the flowers together lining up the base of the flower, then glue on the stem.  You will need 3 flowers and 3 leaves.

Gerber Stems: Die cut stem from the darker light yellow green from Such green paper pack. Die cut flower from the list shade of red from the Berry Red paper pack. Color the flower with Victorian Velvet Distress marker, dotting the center with marker, adding more color to the bottom section of the flower.  Color the bottom of the petals from the center out. Then take a water brush and lightly blend the ink. Shape from the back side with the smallest stylist from the end of the flower stem to the center.  Using the larger stylist to the flower base, making circular motions to cup the flower.  Turn flower over and use the small stylist to push down the petal where it meets the base.  Glue to stem.  You will need 3.

Daisy Stems: Die cut the both flower from the  lightest yellow from Sunny Orange paper pack.  Die cut the stem and leaves die from the darkest green from the Lush Green paper pack. Color the flower petals with the fine point Brilliant Yellow Marvy maker.  Flicking the color up the petal where it meets the base. Using the full tip of the marker dot the center with marker, adding more color to the bottom section of the flower. Take Vintage Photo Distress marker and dot the bottom of the flower base.  Blend with a water Bruch.  Shape and assemble using the same method as the Gerber Stems. You will need 2.

CAED0F5B-55B5-4641-85F8-B9465FD9F857_1_201_a

Grass boarder:

Die Cut the Wild Grass Boarder from the darkest green from the Lush Green paper pack twice. One  should have a 1/2" base  then cut into 2 strip of 2 1/8".  The other strip should be a 3/4" based, 4 1/4" long.  Shade the bottom half of the grass boarder with Rustic Forest Distress Ink. White emboss the Birthday sentiments form Big and Little Word stamp set on the 3/4" by 4 1/4" grass strip.

Fence:

Die cut the Poppy Stamps fence from woodgrain paper.  Shade the top and bottom on the fence with Pomis Stone Distress Ink. Shape the fence back side using the flower shaping technique.

Inside Sky panel:

Cut the 2nd lightest blue from the Ocean Blue  paper pack to A2 size base.

Assembly:

Glue the sky panel to inside of the card base.  Glue the 1/2" grass strip to each side of the gate fold.  Glue gate on top of the grass strip.  At the bottom inside of the card add 1/2" of tape runner.  This is to hold the flowers in place while  arranging them  Add double sided foam tape to the 3/4" grass strip and adhere to the bottom of the card hiding the tape.

Create a Verdant Leaf Collage Slimline Window Card by Jean Okimoto

Soft colors, shimmery gold and a leafy collage create a simple window card for any occasion.  The new Verdant Leaf Collage - on a background of pastels and spritzed, splattered gold - would be great for Valentine, wedding or friendship cards.

Hello, Jean Okimoto here...congrats to the winners of last week's Valentine Blitz - and thank you everyone for all of your thoughtful comments!

MemoryBoxVerdantLeafCollage, MemoryBoxSendingLovePoshScript, MemoryBoxBrightHearts, MemoryBox2021ValentineCollection, HandmadeCards, Papercrafts, DistressOxides, DiecutCards, LeafDiecuts, JeanOkimoto, ImpressCardsAndCrafts, StampsAndMemoriesHawaii, SlimlineCards, WindowCards, SlimlineWindowCards

Verdant Leaf Collage is a versatile design that's perfect throughout the year - in fresh greens for spring and summer, deep rich colors for fall, and in silver with bright berries for the holidays.

MemoryBoxVerdantLeafCollage, MemoryBoxSendingLovePoshScript, MemoryBoxBrightHearts, MemoryBox2021ValentineCollection, HandmadeCards, Papercrafts, DistressOxides, DiecutCards, LeafDiecuts, JeanOkimoto, ImpressCardsAndCrafts, StampsAndMemoriesHawaii, SlimlineCards, WindowCards, SlimlineWindowCards

Trim white cardstock to 8-½" x 10-¼" and score it at 3-½" and 7".  The 3-¼" panel will be folded to the inside to cover the back of the inked background.  Cut Verdant Leaf Collage from the center panel.

Blend light layers of Distress Oxides on smooth white cardstock.  Dry the inks.  Shake Imagine's Gold Sheer Shimmer Spritz vigorously, then spray the inked cardstock.  Heat-set it.  Splatter it with more Shimmer Spritz and heat-set it again.  I'm very spritz-and-splatter-challenged, but I attempted both here...living on the edge!

Trim the background slightly larger than the window.  Attach strips of doublestick tape along the backside of the perimeter of the window to attach the background.  Diecut hearts from the scraps with the Bright Hearts die.

Prep Sending Love Posh Script by rubbing it briskly with scrunched waxed paper to help remove the delicate diecut when you're ready to attach it to the card.  Cut it from pale peach cardstock - leave the diecut in the die.  Attach strips of Diecut 'n Bond doublestick tape to the diecut and run it through the machine again - leave it in the die again.  Remove the little bits of tape liner then press the self-adhesive words firmly onto the card.  Attach the hearts.

Big thanks to everyone who ordered December's SIMPLY ASIAN - WINTER 2020 card kits from Impress and Stamps and Memories!  Thanks for promoting the kit Ann, Shari and Roxanne!

Big Hugs Slimline Valentine Card
by Michelle Bala

21

Hello! Michelle here. Welcome back to Day 5 of our Valentine Blitz and giveaway! I'm sure you have been enjoying the newest Valentine supplies!!! Toady I am showcasing a mix of new and old.

First, I used the new Slim Pinpoint Heart Plate to emboss and die cut the long panel.  I used a light pink cardstock. I adhered the panel to my card base.

20

Next, I used the new Woodgrain Heart Die and die cut a heart from kraft paper.  I used two previously released dies, Bountiful Wreath Die and Pointy Pine Needle Sprigs Die, and die cut some branches as a filler behind the heart. I used aqua and lime green cardstock and Delicate Pastel Glitter Pad to die cut the branches.  I adhered the heart and branches to the card base with foam tape.

22

Last, I die cut the new sentiment, Big Hugs Posh Script. I used Delicate Pastel Glitter Pad for the script die and black cardstock for the shadow die.  I layered a piece of silver thread between the heart and sentiment before adhering.  For a finishing touch I splattered some white paint and I scattered some gems.

Would you like a chance to win the new WOODGRAIN HEART DIE? Just leave a comment here before 11:59 PM EST on Sunday, January 10th for a chance to win. One comment will be selected at random to win the die, and all winners will be posted on the blog  Monday, January 11th at 5pm EST.

Thanks for visiting the blog today!
