Merry Christmas Yule Log
by Anne Thompson

You may have guessed by now that the SNOWY LOG 94821 is one of my favorites from the Winter Days 2024 Collection.  Today I combined the SNOWY LOG 94821, FESTIVE HOLLY 94801, greenery from HOLIDAY SNOWGLOBE 94804, the smallest candle from MERRY AND BRIGHT CANDLES 94812, and the SNOWFLAKE RUB ON TRANSFERS RUB105 along with one of the GREETING TABS ST014 to create this card.

I started with a panel 5 1/4 X 4 cut from a sheet of the POWDER BLUE card stock SH44011.  I cut a piece of the SNOWFLAKE RUB ON TRANSFERS RUB105 the same size and used the enclosed stick to transfer the snowflakes onto the Powder Blue Paper.

I then die cut all of the other pieces that I thought I might use for the card.

to assemble the card

I decided to audition everything on the snowflake paper before gluing anything down.

I began by assembling the Snowy Log, using dimensional foam in the center to round out the log a bit as I added it to the snowy paper.  I then tucked the Festive Holly branches in place behind the log on the left edge using Glue Dots.  I chose the smaller holly pieces from the Holiday Snowglobe dies and added them on top of the snow on the left.  I then added some sparkle with the red gemstones to represent holly berries.  I used more dimensional foam behind the smallest candle which I placed on the right end of the log.  To finish the panel I used one of the Merry Christmas Banners centered near the top of the snowflake paper.  I secured the panel to the top of a side-fold A2 note card using double-sided tape.

I have several holiday card workshops planned for this month and next with friends.  I think at least one of my Snowy Log cards will have to be included.

Happy Crafting!

Peace Love and Joy

Hello and welcome, it's Angie here with a wintery holiday card featuring products from the latest Yuletide and Winter Days releases.  Here's an up close look at my card:

Close

As you can see it has a lot going on, first the background is a tan piece of card stock, lightly inked in Gathered Twigs Distress Ink using the new "Narrow Tree Trunks Stencil Set" (88630) and then I used the new rub-ons called "Snowflake" to create a snowy background.  I then stamped the sentiment with Versafine Clair Pine Cone ink.  Here's an even closer look:

Med close

I cut the Snowy Log (94821) from dark brown card stock and then also from white for the snow and from Memory Box Kraft Woodgrain paper to be able to create the layers.  I inked the kraft paper with more Distress ink and then glued the 3 pieces together.  Next I worked on the 2 birds, "Wistful Sparrow" (94798) and "Sunlight Sparrow" (94837), cutting the dies from white card stock and coloring them with alcohol markers and gluing the pieces together.  Next I cut "Pine Branches" (94817) from dark green cardstock from the "Leafy" paper pack (SP1011).

I added the pine needles to the left side, popped the log up on foam tape at the bottom and popped both birds on top of the log.   To create more interested I added lots of white paint pen for more snow and some highlights, plus I added sparkle paste to the snow and around the card in different places.  I wish you could see it in real life, it's so sparkly.

Here's one last look:

I hope you like my card for today, I had a lot of fun creating it!  Be sure to come back each day to see more inspiration from the team.  Thanks for stopping by and happy crafting!

Sending Warmest Wishes
by Angie Cimbalo

MB 2 warmest

Hello and welcome, it's Angie here today with a fun watercolored, heat embossed card featuring the new Leaves and Berries stamp.

To create my card I cut a piece of Festive Glitter paper for the background then heat embossed in gold, a stamped image from the new background stamp set.  This stamp has two parts and makes creating cards super fun!  I watercolored the image with a waterbrush, Zig clean color markers and Distress Inks.  Then I added white paint pen accents.

The  sentiment is from the Holiday Wishes stamp set heat embossing in white on black card stock.

Here's one last look:

I hope you enjoyed my card for today and be sure to come back each day for more inspiration from the design team.

Beautiful Background Birthday Card
by Sara Cook

Hi everyone!  I have a birthday card using the Beautiful Background stamp set.  This is in the Yuletide release but this stamp set is versatile and can be used for any occasion.

E5AB93FA-FED9-4BE3-B5EE-FBAB2913D424_1_201_a

Background:

Stamp the larger stamp from the Beautiful Background stamp set and white heat emboss on a A2 size card panel.  Spray the panel with Distress Spray Stains in Shaded Lilac, Speckled Egg, and Crushed Olive.  Heat dry.  Sprinkle with water and splatter the sprays using the end of the nozzle.  Dry half way and then lightly pat with a paper towel.  Repeat process until you get a background you like. Dry completely.  Fussy cut out the foliage from the top of the paper.  Use a Zig real brush in a green matching Crushed Olive to color in the leaves.  Use a white gel or paint pen to color in the berries.  Add foam adhesive to the back.

Bird:

Die cut the Huddled Sparrow from heavy white card stock.  Ink blend with the same distress ink colors but in Oxide.  Use a orange for the beak and a black gel pen for the eye.  Adhere together using the envelope as a guide.

Frosty Lantern Joy
by Trina Pham

IMG_7182

Hello everyone.  I have another Christmas in August card to share today featuring other fabulous products from the 2024 Yuletide collection.

Started with the background again and did the stencil monoprint technique using the Falling Snowflakes stencil.  Did this by applying water reactive blue ink to the stencil, spritzing with water then flipping it over onto watercolor paper, resulting in this frosty look.

IMG_7152

The lantern was die cut from silver Vintage Pastel mirror paper.  For the back piece, traced its shape onto white paper, fussy cut out then ink blended grey dye ink to give it shading.  Most of the other die cut pieces were die cut from alcohol marker friendly paper and colored with Copic Sketch markers B00/32/34/37/39.

IMG_7169

The snowflakes were die cut from white glitter paper while the Brilliant Berries branch was die cut from silver foil cardstock.  Assembled the card onto a white card base and added clear jewels to the poinsettia centers to finish

IMG_7164

Had trouble adding photos to this post, but Typepad finally behaved.  And that’s all for today.  Thank you for joining me.   Have a wonderful day.

Huddled Sparrow Christmas Wreath
by Trina Pham

IMG_7086

Hello everyone.  I’m delighted to share a Christmas (in August 😀) card today featuring products from the 2024 Yuletide collection released last month.

Started by dry embossing mixed media paper with the Pinecone and Berries 3D embossing folder as the background.  Next, the pine needles were die cut from the darkest Greenery paper using the Pinecone Duo dies.  To give them a more textured and realistic look, the individual needles were cut in half from the tips with scissors.  See comparison photo below (original is on the left 😉).

IMG_7089

That step would have been easier if I had small detailed scissors. 🤷🏻‍♀️  The berries were then die cut from alcohol marker friendly paper and colored with Copic Sketch markers RV63/66/17).

IMG_7087

The sparrow was die cut from white and ink blended with leftover brown, orange and yellow inks left on their respective detail blending brushes.   Heat embossed the sentiment with gold embossing powder then die cut out with the coordinating die.  Assembled the card onto a white card base to finish.

IMG_7088

And that does it for my card.  Thank you for joining me today.  Have a wonderful day.

Snowflake Joy
by Angie Cimbalo

2

Hello and welcome, it's Angie here today with a fun winter card featuring new release items from the latest 2024 Yuletide release!  Here's an up close look at all the textures and dies:

3

I used both kraft and white "Woodgrain Paper" for this card.  On the kraft I used the "Falling Snowflakes Stencil" with some white embossing paste to create the extra texture of the snowflakes.  After it dried I framed it by using 2 of the largerst dies from the "Fringed Scalloped Frame Set" cut from the white woodgrain paper.  I cut the pinecones twice from 2 shades of brown card stock and after putting them together I used 3 of them and 2 sets of the pine leaves that come in this same die set called "Pine Cone Duo."  The pine leaves were cut from the "Greenery" paper pack.

I cut out the "Snowflake Joy" die from the same green and some white card stock and layered them, then put everything on the card with pop dots.  Finally I added jewels in pastel green from the "Pastel Jewels" pack and red jewels from the "Christmas Jewels" pack to simulate tiny berries.  Here is one last look:

I hope you like my card for today, it has lots of fun new products combined on it and so much texture in real life!

Thanks for stopping by!
