Hi everyone.  I have a simple and easy birthday card featuring the Butterfly Coterie Collage die. It is using the cut out butterflies from last week's blog post.

Butterflies:

Instructions how to watercolor the paper for the butterflies. Watercolor Open Studios Watercolor paper using a green, blue, yellow and silver paint.  Use a larger sized paint brush for this technique. Spritz both sides of the paper with water then lightly wipe off the any excess water.  Add the paint, starting with the darker colors, by just dabbing on the paper randomly.  Make sure it does not create a pattern and just slightly overlapping the colors as you go.  The colors with slightly blend together.  Using a heat gun, dry the paper.  After dry, die cut the Butterfly Coterie Collage die from the center of the paper.  Use just the butterfly.

Ocean Themed Thank You Card
by Sara Cook

Hi everyone.  I have a card combining the foil plates with the nautical dies to create an ocean themed thank you card.  I am using some older dies with the newer dies.

14F9C20A-1FD3-4B7A-A368-87FE5A752345_1_201_a

Use one of the 3 color combos from the Ocean Blue paper pad.  The lightest color is used as the foreground waves and the darkest color is the background waves.  Die cut with the Big Splash Board die, making the darker color blue longer to show behind the lighter waves.  Trim down to 4'x51/4" in length.  For the hight I just eyeballed it.  Marking the back and trimming it down. Adhere the 2 die cuts together with foam tape to give dimension.  The clear Fairy Drops are added to the holes in varying sizes to add the effect of water droplets.

B916CBD2-9F09-4BBD-8575-0797C127899D

I used the medium color blue from the Ocean Blue paper pad as the background and hot foiled gold with the Sunburst hot foil plate in the upper left side.  Then trim down the paper to 4"x5 1/4" cutting from the side the Sunburst is on.  Adhere onto a A2 white card.

CA82D155-1AD8-4B90-8B51-30F9122C568C

Hot foil gold on heavy white card stock using the Posh Thank You hot foil plate and die cut with the matching die.  Adhere in the center of the Sunburst.

Die cut the largest Marina Sailboat from white and gold paper from the Rainbow Reflections Mirror pad.

C5647457-1C8F-4C28-9FC8-78703963C5E1

Add the waves die cuts to the bottom of the card with foam tape.  Then adhere the gold sail boat and the white sails to the bottom right hand side of the card.  This card design can be easily changed up by using different color combos from any of the paper pads and changing the hot foiled sentiment.  My son liked this card so much they asked for a birthday version to give to their friend.  I used the Fresh Aqua paper pad and the Birthday Wishes Hot Foil plate in that version.

Hello with Lavender Bouquet
by Angie Cimbalo

7.20 1

Hello and welcome, it's Angie here today with Hello card made with the new "Lavender Bouquet" dies released this past May.  Here's a closer look at my card:

7.20 2

Here's how I made my card:

1)  I die cut the lavender stems and colored them with Zig Clean Color markers

2)  I took a piece of watercolor card and smooshed purple ink with water on it then added splatter with the same ink.

3)  I added all the stems to the watercolor card stock and then trimmed .75" from the bottom.

4)  I added the watercolor card to a card base that had striped washi tape across the bottom.  Next I added a few gems and a heat embossed sentiment from "Big and Little Words" stamp set.

Here's one last look:

7.20 3

I hope you like my card for today!  I had so much fun creating it!  Be sure to check out all the new Memory Box goodies on their website HERE.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Oceans of Happiness
by Trina Pham

BFDEF4EC-52A9-4958-8817-8A7A7272FD6F

Hello everyone.  I used the Curling Waves stencil last time, so thought I would use the Curling Waves embossing folder (EF) and matching dies this time.  I will admit this did not turn out the way I wanted. ☹️

Anywho, I started by foiling the Sunburst hot foil plate with Champagne hot foil in the upper left corner of a Bristol panel.  Die cut a circle stencil to apply Wild Honey distress ink (DI) for the sun.  Applied Squeezed Lemonade DI for the sky.

20725935-9984-421F-BDE1-BE8BE11E67B4

For the ocean, blended Blueprint Sketch DI.  Die cut the curling waves from scraps of white paper next, then dry embossed them with the EF.  Turquoise dye ink was then used to add shading to them.  Arranged and glued the waves to the panel.  Stamped the sentiment in black and added turquoise jewels to finish.

Pretty straight forward.  Thank you for joining me today.  Have a wonderful day.

Thinking of You
by Donna Sledzik

IMG_1868

Good morning everyone!  Today's card features new products from the 2022 May and June Memory Box release.

To make my card, I used the Sunburst Hot Foil Plate to add gold foil to white cardstock.  Next, I used a circle die to cut a circle around the foiled sunburst.  I used Distress Oxide Inks to add color to the sunburst.  The colors I used were: Mustard Seed, Carved Pumpkin and Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide Inks.

The leaves were embossed and die cut from the new Tropical Leaves 3D Embossing Folder and Dies.  I used a blender brush and Twisted Citron, Mowed Lawn and Lucky Clover Distress Oxide Inks to add color to the leaves.

IMG_1870

I trimmed the sunburst circle and glued it to a white cardstock panel, which I adhered to a black cardstock mat.  I glued this panel to a white card base.  I stamped the sentiment on a strip of black cardstock and white heat embossed it.  This was glued along the bottom of the foiled sunburst.  Next, I glued the leaves in place.

The seagulls were die cut from black cardstock and glued to the card.

To finish the card, I spattered it with gold ink.

That's it for today!  Thanks so much for stopping by!

Curling Waves Butterfly
by Trina Pham

015D8982-0BE3-4DA1-B4D1-4F9AB40B76EC

Hello everyone.  The new mini Island Vacation release is live and consists of fun embossing folders with matching dies and/or stencils.  I stretched the Curling Waves layering stencil set of 2 from the release to create my card today.  But these waves look so cool when used as intended. 😉

Normally, I leave the sentiment till the end, but because I am hot foiling directly onto the panel, the Posh Hello sentiment was hot foiled with silver foil first.  Using blender brushes next, Milled Lavender, Shaded Lilac, Wilted Violet and Villainous Potion distress inks were ink blended for an ombré.  Wiped off excess ink with a paper towel, then lightly splattered with diluted white gouache paint for some texture.

7321F16E-76E4-4AD8-BD9E-6D2049D1E85D

For the Stella Butterfly, the background was die cut from vellum, while the outline top layer was die cut twice from Bristol paper.  Glued the background piece to one of the outline pieces, then applied clear glitter onto the vellum through the openings.  Added the other outline piece on top to cover up any glitter that may have accidentally got onto the first piece.  Completed the butterfly by die cutting the body/antenna three times from Bristol paper and stacking them for dimension.  A finger brush was then used to apply white pigment ink over the Curling Waves stencil (used the first stencil layer with the larger opening) to create the butterfly trail.  Mounted the butterfly, then added star and dot details along the trail with a white gel pen to finish.

That does it for my card.  Thank you for joining me today.  Have a wonderful day.

Charlotte Daisies Birthday
by Trina Pham

C645A059-824E-4D82-99BB-4867EF3D1A50

Hello and happy weekend.  Today I’ve stretched the Charlotte Blooms and Leaves dies from the 2022 May release and turned them into daisies to create a birthday card inspired by this month’s blue and yellow colour challenge at The Flower Challenge in support of Ukraine.

The flowers were die cut from Bristol paper while the centers were die cut from the lightest yellow Sunny Orange paper.  Each flower is two of the same flower cutouts, and offset.  Coloring / shading was then done with Copic Sketch markers.

yellows - Y11, Y15, YR24
greys - C4, C2, C1, C00

D7F8B7DA-AA85-400B-A00E-93F6A7EDC12F

The background is a Bristol panel ink blended with Tumbled Glass and Mermaid Lagoon distress inks (DI) using blender brushes.  The “trellis” was die cut from Bristol paper using the Double Diamond Lattice Plate from Poppy Stamps.  It’s actually a full A2 size, but was reduced by die cutting a frame with Rectangle Basics dies then adhering it over top and trimming away the excess.

2ED3DF67-14B0-447A-ACC9-22E6B11B3702

The Posh Happy Birthday sentiment was foiled next with Prism hot foil using the Spellbinders Glimmer hot foil system.  Applied Mermaid Lagoon DI to it, wiped off excess ink with a paper towel (foil resists the ink) and die cut out with the matching die.  Assembled the card onto a white card base then added clear shimmer to the yellow centers to finish.

Thank you for joining me today.  Have a wonderful day.

Hello Mini Slimline Card
by Donna Sledzik

IMG_1808

Hello everyone!  Today I have a mini slimline card for you using the new hot foil plates from the 2022 May release.

I began by using the Exquisite Leaves hot foil plate and the Posh Hello hot foil plate to add gold foil to white cardstock.  I used the coordinating dies to cut out the images. Next, I used a blending brush to add Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide inks to the leaves.

I die cut the Riverbank Large Layered Blooms several times from white cardstock and used Mustard Seed and Carved Pumpkin Distress Oxide ink to color the flowers.  Instead of stacking the flowers, I decided to use them separately on my card.

To create the background for my flowers I used the Ringadings 3D embossing folder and white cardstock.   I used a blending brush and Prize Ribbon Distress Oxide Ink to add color to the background.  To darken the color I used Chipped Sapphire Distress Oxide Ink.  I spattered the background with plain water and gold ink.

IMG_1799

I glued this to a white cardstock layer that I die cut using the Slim Pinpoint Burst Plate.  This was adhered to a navy cardstock mat and glued to a white card base.

Next, I glued the flowers and leaves to the card and used foam tape adhere the word "Hello".

IMG_1810

To finish the card, I inked the flower centers with Vintage Photo ink, glued them in place, and used Gold Nuvo Drops to add some dimension to the flower centers.

Well that's it for today!  I hope you have a great weekend!
