Greetings
by Donna Sledzik

IMG_7856

Hi everyone, today's card features more new products from the new 2024 January Anemone release.  I decided to use the Anemone Bloom as my focal point for my card.

The anemone was die cut from white cardstock and I used Distress Inks to add color to the images.

Flower: Spun Sugar and Picked Raspberry Distress Inks

Leaves: Peeled Paint Distress Ink

Flower Centers: Black Soot Distress Ink

I glued the anemone together and put it aside while I worked on the card background.

IMG_7858

I dry embossed cream cardstock using the Anemone Drift 3D embossing folder.  This was glued to a black cardstock mat and then adhered to a cream woodgrain card base.

Using a circle layer die, I die cut a circle from the Anemone Plaid paper pad and glued it to the card.

Next, I used foam tape to adhere the Anemone Bloom to the card and spattered it with gold ink.

The word "Greetings" was die cut from gold metallic cardstock and the shadow from black cardstock.  I glued the word to the black shadow die cut and used foam tape to adhere it to the card.

To add some interest to the card, I finished by adding some black embellishments to it.

Thanks foe stopping by today and have a great week!

Birch Tree Forest Cardinal
by Trina Pham

IMG_3101

Hello everyone.  Keeping the bird theme going, I have a vintage brown and red Christmas card to share today featuring the Layered Cardinal die and Birch Tree Forest embossing folder (EF) from the current 2023 Christmas release

The Layered Cardinal, Classic Pine Needle Sprigs and pine cones were all die cut from white paper then ink blended with distress inks (DI) using blending brushes:

reds - Abandoned Coral, Lumberjack Plaid
brown - Gathered Twigs
black - Black Soot
yellow - Fossilized Amber

IMG_3102

The background was created by “stamping” with the EF.  Inked the flat side of the EF with Brushed Corduroy and Gathered Twigs DI, spritz with water then pressed onto watercolor paper.  Just like you would for the stencil monoprint technique, except with an EF… so EF monoprint! 🤗

IMG_3100

Left the panel to air dry then trimmed down to A2 size before black heat embossing the sentiment from Shining Star with clear glitter embossing powder directly on the panel for a bit of sparkle.  Assembled the card onto a white card base to finish.

That does it for my card.  Thank you for joining me today.  Have a wonderful day.

Gold & Plaid Gracious Floral Collection
by Angie Cimbalo

So kind main

Hello and welcome, it's Angie here today!   I have this fun plaid "Thank You" card I made for a friend using the newly released "Gracious Floral" products.

To make my card I took the center floral die and cut it from a piece of polished gold paper that was attached to a piece of card stock.  That paper is quite thin so to get a deeper impression later when I emboss it, I want it to be thicker.  After the shape was cut out, I opened the 3D embossing folder and ran it through my die cutting machine.  It gave the flower lovely dimension as you can see in the picture below.

I cut a piece of plaid paper to add the the bottom of the card base and then topped it with a thin strip of gold and another thin strip of black card stock.  The sentiment from the Gracious Floral stamp set, was heat embossed in white on black card stock.  I added the gold flower and sentiment to the card with foam tape and glue.  Here's another look:

So kind close

I made one more card using the Memory Box papers and the gold polished foil and here it is:

Gold hugs

The paper is from the Magnolia Grove and I used the large floral die from the stamp set to cut the image out and then ran it through my die cutting machine with the 3D embossing folder.  The sentiment is a 2 piece die called Hugs Tender Script.  It's so shiny in real life!

I hope you like my cards for today.  I really like how it turned out.  Be sure to come back tomorrow for some more inspiration!

Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Birthday
by Donna Sledzik

IMG_5337

Good morning everyone!  Today I have a monochromatic card for you using the new Gracious Floral Stamp set.

I began by stamping the Gracious Floral several times on white cardstock to create a background and then used colored pencils to fill in the stamped images.  I added some shading around the images with a gray marker.

IMG_5338

I spattered the background with black ink and mounted the background to a black cardstock mat.   Using foam tape, I adhered it to a white card base.

Next, I die cut the words Happy Birthday from silver foil cardstock and glued it to a black shadow die cut.  I glued this to the center of the card.

IMG_5340

To finish the card I added Black Nuvo Drops to the flower centers and the card background.

That's it for today!  Thanks for stopping by.

Just For You
by Donna Sledzik

IMG_5231

Hello everyone!  Today's card features products from the new Gracious Floral release.  I love the stamp, layering stencils and die combination for the floral image.

I began by stamping and die cutting the Gracious Floral image.  Next, I used small blending brushes, dye inks and the layering stencils to color in the image.

IMG_5227

I used white cardstock and the Ringadings 3D Embossing folder to create the background for the card.  I adhered the embossed background to a gold metallic cardstock mat and glued it to a white card base.

I created the gold frame behind the floral image by hot foiling one of the Rectangle Double Border Hot Foil Frames.  I die cut the frame using the Rectangle Frames Die Set.  I glued this to the embossed card background and used foam tape to adhere the floral image.

IMG_5229

I stamped the sentiment with Versa Mark ink and gold heat embossed it.  I used foam tape to adhere it to the card.

I hope you have a great day and that's for stopping by!

Thanks Dad Card
by Donna Sledzik

IMG_5172

Hi everyone!  Today I have a quick and easy Father's Day card for you.

I started by creating an ink blended background and embossed it using the Toolbox 3D embossing folder.

IMG_5171

I inked the flat side of the embossing folder with black dye ink before running the blended background through the die cutting machine.

I cut the background at an angle and mounted it on black cardstock. I trimmed the cardstock leaving a border around the background and glued it to a white card base.

I die cut the word thanks once from black cardstock and once from gold foil cardstock.  I glued the gold foil slightly to the right of the black die cut to give it a slight shadow.

Next, I die cut the shadow for the word dad from black cardstock and the letters from gold cardstock.  I glued the gold letters to the shadow die cuts and adhered the word Dad to the card.  I glued the word thanks above the word Dad.

IMG_5173

That's it for today!  Happy Father's Day to all the Dad's and have a great day!

Miss You Card
by Donna Sledzik

IMG_5139

Hello everyone!  Today I have a quick and easy card for you using the new Magnolia Rub-Ons.

I cut various images from the rub-on sheet and arranged them on a white cardstock panel.  When I was happy with the placement, I rubbed them down with a bone folder.

I used Spun Sugar Distress Ink and a blending brush to add some color to the background to make the flowers stand out.  The coating on the rub-on images resist the ink, so it's easy to add color after you apply them to your card.

Next, I spattered the card with white and gold inks.

IMG_5140

I die cut the shadow for the words Miss You from Gold foil paper and the words from white cardstock.  I glued the words on top of the shadow die cut and then adhered it to my card.

The card front was glued to a white card base, using foam tape.

Hello Magnolia Card
by Donna Sledzik

IMG_4994

Hello everyone!  Today I have another Magnolia card for you featuring a stenciled background for the Magnolia die cut to lay on.

The first thing I did was use a low tack tape to mask off a rectangle in the center of the card panel.

IMG_4987

I placed the Leafy Row Stencil over the masked background, then used a blender brush and Distress Inks to add color through the stencil.  I removed the stencil and before I removed the tape I used what ink was left on my brushes to blend in some color to the background.

IMG_4990

I die cut the Magnolia Floral Stem from white cardstock and used Distress Inks and Blender brushes to add color to the flower and leaves.  I used Saltwater Taffy and Picked Raspberry for the flower, Peeled Paint and Forest Moss for the leaves, and Gathered Twigs for the stem.

I glued the flower and leaves together and then adhered them to the card front.

Next, I die cut the word Hello from gold foil paper and glued that to the card.

IMG_4996

To finish the card, I used foam tape to adhere the card front to a white card base, and that's it!

Thanks so much for stopping by today and have a great weekend!

Hugs
by Donna Sledzik

IMG_4849

Hi everyone!  Today I have another card featuring new products from the April Magnolia release.

I saw this fun technique on YouTube and thought I would give it a try.

You start by creating a background on watercolor paper using Distress Ink Reinkers.  The colors are so vibrant and stand out against the black background.

IMG_4845

I created a few backgrounds, they look very messy but don't worry it all comes together.  I decided to use the yellow and pink background for my card.

I used the new Magnolia Blooms 3D Embossing folder for this technique.

On the flat side of the embossing folder, I applied Black Soot Archival ink as if I was inking a stamp.  I placed my background panel, ink side up, on the other side of the folder and ran it through my die cutting machine.  I repeated this process to get a little more black ink on my background.

IMG_4846

This is what it looked like after the first pass through.  Next, I took Black Sharpie Markers and drew around the flowers and filled in the background so it was a deeper black.

IMG_4847

Once the background was filled in, I applied Gold Foundry Wax lightly over the raised portions of the embossed background.  I also spattered the background with gold and white inks.

Next, I mounted the background onto a metallic gold mat and used foam tape to glue it to a white card base.

IMG_4850

To finish the card I die cut the word hugs from metallic gold cardstock and glued it to a white die cut shadow piece.

That's it for today!  Thanks for stopping by!

Hugs
by Donna Sledzik

IMG_4359

Hello everyone!  I have a bright and cheery card for you today, featuring some new products from the Spring release.

IMG_4361

I started by stamping and coloring the flowers with copic markers and die cutting them. I used gold ink to spatter the flower die cut.

The copic colors I used are as follows:

  • Flowers - R20, R32, and R37
  • Leaves - G24, G94
  • Berries and flower center - Y11, Y19

I took the Rectangle Double Border hot foil plate and hot foiled a piece of Bristol paper with Gold hot foil using the Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil Machine.  Then I die cut the foiled frame with one of the A2 Rectangle Frames, mounted that on a black cardstock mat, and glued that to a white cardstock mat.  I matted this piece with black cardstock and adhered it to a white card base.

I used foam tape to glue them to the card front.

I die cut the word "hugs" from gold foil cardstock and the shadow from green cardstock and glued these to the card.

IMG_4360

That's my card for today!  I hope you have a great week!
