Die Cut Earrings
by Penny Ward

EARRING4

Hello, hello.....  So not a card today, but a fun way to use your die cuts. When I first received the Equal Triangles stamp and matching die, I knew I wanted to make earrings and finally got around to it. Follow along so you too can make these little cuties for yourself or as a gift.

EARRING-TECH

These earrings were made with Shrinky Dinks Ruff N' Ready. Follow the manufacturer directions for inking, painting, etc.

Die cut your shapes with Equal Triangle die. Paint the smallest of the rhombus with white paint, stamp with the striped triangle using StazOn Jet Black ink.

Ink the largest with Jet Black.

Punch holes near top edge.

EARRING3

The fun part is watching them shrink in your oven.

Again, follow the manufacturers direction for this step.

Turn on your oven light and enjoy the magic!

EARRING2

Assemble earrings using a jump ring and a earring.

EARRING

How stinkin' cute?!?  Think of the possibilities with all of the dies in your stash.

Happy crafting and make 2019 your best year yet,

Snowflake Collage Beaded Dress
by Jean Okimoto

MemoryBoxBeadedDress-MemoryBoxSnowflakeCollage-MemoryBoxMerryAndBright-OpenStudioStitchedRectangleLayers-JeanOkimoto-ImagineCrafts-ImpressCardsAndCraftsMay your holidays be merry and bright...and oh-so-fashionable with a glittered Snowflake Collage Beaded Dress!  Hi - happy weekend, Jean Okimoto here with a quick Memory Box and Open Studio card for you.

Cut Snowflake Collage from textured white cardstock.  Cut the collage background again with Beaded Dress.  Attach ScorTape to white cardstock, place the Beaded Dress die on the side with the ScorTape, then cut the dress again.   Remove any pieces left in the 'beads.'  Attach the tape-covered dress behind the snowflake dress.  Brush ultra-fine silver glitter onto the snowflakes.

Trim the hem of the dress with the Breezy Waves Die.

Cut a 2.5" x 3.5"  piece  of red cardstock with the Stitched Rectangle Layer.  Stamp Merry and Bright on white cardstock with VersaFine Satin Red.  Dry the ink.  Cut it with the 2.75" x 1.75" Stitched Rectangle Layer.  Trim the excess cardstock with the inner edge of a larger Stitched Rectangle Layer.

Attach everything to a side-folded A-2 card of textured white cardstock - use foam dots to attach the dress.  Add some shiny lime green sequins.

All Dressed Up

Morning Crafty Friends!

I've had my eye on this little frock for a while and I'm here to share it in a Summer version.  It's such a versatile dress; it could created as a white or pastel colored wedding dress, a formal "Black Tie" Gala version in black or shortened for a Spring Tea or Brunch.

Beaded Dress-jennygriffiths

I die cut the dress in cream card stock and in pale yellow, then pieced the bodice to the skirt and added a little yellow hem.  I adorned it with a little cluster of stitched flowers and satin ribbon at the waist.  Just like playing with paper dolls!

IMG_8330

I created the tone-on-tone background by stenciling Peony Blossoms with light colored ink onto paper which is just a few shades darker than the ink color.  Then I added a second cream paper panel and layered it all on a top fold card.  Simple and fun---not too formal for a Summer party.

Be sure to pick up this pretty Beaded Dress die and make your own fashion statement.

 Happy 4th!

Mrs. Claus is Coming to Town

P1130686

How about a Mrs. Claus card for gal friends, moms, sisters and daughters?  Memory Box Cranberry Signature Prints are great for dresses and handbags. Layer the  Winterland Tree Background and Elyse Christmas Tree as a subtle, textured backdrop for these holiday fashions.

Cut an extra layer of white - using a doily and the bottom of the Ava Party Dress Die - and layer it slightly below the hemline of the Cranberry Dots dress diecut.

Create sparkly snowflake accents by attaching Scor-Tape to red cardstock and diecutting Snowflake Burst.  Brush Clearsnap's Ruby Slippers Glitter onto the adhesive.  Snowflake Burst is perfect for flower centers too - it cuts a total of 36 pieces, 12 each of three sizes - great for blossoms throughout the year!

It's Christmas Time in the City...

PamSparksC-masCity700

Welcome to my post for today's edition of the Merry and Bright Memory Box Blog Blitz!

*** This is one of the cards I'll be teaching in Sacramento, CA the weekend of August 3rd and 4th!  It would be so awesome to meet you!  If you're in the area join us for some creating fun!***  HERE is the store newsletter with all the class info...

Another nostalgic Christmas scene that brings back memories of growing up in the city.  Oh I had fun creating this card!  When I first saw the new release I spent hours pouring over what I could do with them all!  When they got here, I had to adjust a little but in the end,  I'm so happy with everything I've made so far!  I hope they inspire you and add creative energy to your day!  : )

PamSparksC-masCityClose658

I created a step card with the NEW Bella Dress Form, Sevington Border, Snowflake Sprig (I cut off and used the holly), Star Flourish and the NEW stamp 'It's Christmas Time in the City'.

To create the whole scene, I incorporated some dies from the past too, the Small Dress Form, Cityscape Nightline, Tiny Bow, Flower Mound and Fairytale Flower.

On the inside I used the NEW Gift Bag die, the top hat from the Holiday Hats die, 'have yourself a merry little Christmas' stamp and Washi Tape Stripes stamp.

Hope you love it and come to class if you can!!!  : )

May your Christmas card creating in July be Merry and Bright!

*** p.s. remember to comment for a chance to win the NEW Star Flourish die!!! ***

Memory Box Online Class

Several of you have expressed an interest in taking an online Memory Box class, so I've been working really hard to create something worthy of our products and our audience.

And I'm pleased to say I think I've got something you're going to love!

The class will go live at 9:00 a.m., EST, this Sunday, June 2, at The Art Studio which is operated by Scrapbook News and Review. This self-paced class is the first in a series that will focus on friendship and encouragement cards featuring Memory Box fashion dies. I can't share photos of the cards - although you can see the bottom of at least one that made the final cut in the picture below (as well as some of the goodies that are embellishing the cards). I also included a few detail thumbnails - one from each card - to give you an idea of what you'll be making!

695-Dresses-to-die-for

 C L A S S   D E S C R I P T I O N

Through HD video instruction, you'll make three cards featuring four of the "fashion" dies from the latest 2013 die release. These are original card designs with clever sentiments utilizing fashion designer names. (They are suitable for framing and would make a great addition to any crafter or stitcher's studio!)

A V A I L A B I L I T Y  &  S U P P O R T

You'll have life-long access to the course materials (3 videos, 5 instructional PDFs with photos, 3 printable sentiments in PDF format, and a complete supplies list), a group forum, and a gallery (which I hope you'll use). I'll also be available through email.

The class goes live at 9:00 a.m., EST, on Sunday, June 2, 2013, and the content, gallery and board will remain forever active and open to students. Since it's a self-paced class, you can come and go as you please to watch the videos, download the PDFs, and post on the board and gallery. You can see more details on the class info page at The Art Studio when the class goes live on Sunday.

S T O R E   D I S C O U N T

The Art Studio's official online partner store is Crop Stop. The owner, Haylie-Jo, is graciously offering enrolled students a 10% discount on all products purchased during the class's active phase and she's also waving the $30 minimum purchase requirement!

I hope you'll consider taking this class as the cards have received high marks from test students for both their design and ease of construction!

Spring Fashions from The Paper Stash

P1070743
The Memory Box couture dies - sassy dresses, elegant evening gowns and  cute handbags - are perfect for quick cards.  Jean Okimoto here, with a basic template for girlie all-occasion cards.  Add glitter, gemstones, doilies and ribbons to dress them up - or keep them simple but ready for last-minute bling.

  P1070747

It's a great way to make tiny dent in your Memory Box paper stash too - just cut the colorful prints with the dies.  The dies are, from left to right - Terrific Tote 98542, Camila Evening Dress 98621, Ava Party Dress 98610, Avenue Shopper 98544 and Chic Bag 98549.

The Debutante Frame 98297 creates the perfect backdrop for these spring pieces - mixed, matched and layered as though they're displayed on the bed for a quick fashion decision.

Thanks for visiting - have a great afternoon!
