Merry Christmas Card
by Donna Sledzik

IMG_8968

Happy Thursday everyone!  Today I have another non-traditional color combination for my Christmas card.

IMG_8970

I started by embossing a pink cardstock panel using the new Pinecones and Berries 3D embossing folder.  Next, I lightly rubbed over the embossed image with a white ink pad to bring out the embossed images.  I used foam tape to adhere this panel to a white card base.

I die cut the pinecones, pine branches and berries from colored cardstock and arranged them on the card.  I used foam tape to glue the pinecones to the card.

I spattered the card with white ink and used a white gel pen to add some highlights to the berries.

IMG_8969

To finish the card, I glued a Merry Christmas sentiment strip to the card.

That's it for today!  Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Christmas Cookie Tray Card
by Sara Cook

Hi everyone.  I have a card featuring the Dimpled Cookies die set to create a Christmas tray full of yummy cookies.  These turned out so real, it is making me want cookies.

CA4544AF-0A96-4DAB-9C23-E50813C6D114

Tray:

Die cut the 2nd largest Rectangle Basic Set die from the brushed silver paper from the Vintage Pastel Mirror Pad.  Create a frame using the 4th and 7th smallest die using the same paper. Cut the frame in half the long way. Adhere to the sides of the rectangle to create the handles.  Die cut either white rice or onion paper using the 2nd largest die from the Fringed Scalloped Frame set.  Adhere the die cut to the tray with light glue under the areas where the  cookies and sentiment will go.

Cookies:

Die cut the Dimpled Cookies die set twice from heavy white card stock.  Ink blend the cookie die cuts using Distress Oxide Antique Linen and then very lightly ink blend the edges with Vintage Photo.   Cover the cookies with embossing ink then dip into Distress Frosted Crystal powder and heat, just as the powder melts then dip into Distress Rock Candy Glitter and reheat set.  Do this one at a time.  This will make it look like the cookies are covered in sugar.  For the rectangle cookies I used Liquid Appliqué in white and used the dotted cut outs as the pattered to "ice" over.  Heat set so the liquid becomes puffy.  Take the top icing die cut and over with Tsukineko Neon Amplify in white and fill the die cut all over.  I created my own glitter to make the background paper by coloring Distress Rock Candy glitter with Current Alcohol Ink.  Just mix a couple drops in a cup until the glitter is colored.  Spinkle on the icing die cuts and let air dry.  this will take several hours.

C318F153-0D61-4AD1-B9ED-1759F99DD263

Assembly:

Cut white card stock to 9 1/2" x 6 1/2" and score at 4 3/4" to create the card base.  Use a paper from the Yuletide Cheer and trim down to 6 1/2" to 4 3/4". The only way to get 6 1/2 is to use the end with the hole.  Use a hole bunch to cut out paper from the excess.  Adhere the paper to the card and then the paper circle in the hole.  Adhere the tray with foam tape, making sure to cover up the hole that was batched up.  Adhere the cookies to the tray.  Stamp and white heat emboss Hope you Holidays are Sweet from the Sweet Christmas stamp set on the darkest red paper from Blush pack.  Fussy cut and adhere with foam tape.

Cordial Snowman
by Theary Chea

Hello! It's Theary back on the blog again. Today, I share a winter-themed card using the adorable Cordoal Snowman 94813 dies.

MB snowman 1

For the snowman's body, i used the Cordial Snowman 94813 and ran that through my die-cutting machine out of white card stock. To add some interest, I used the scarf and hat portion of the die and died cut out of patterned paper from Yuletide Plaid PP1031. I adhered everything together using liquid adhesive.

I added some color to the snowman using alcohol markers.

MB snowman 2

The background panel was created using Kraft-colored cardstock and the new Frosted Trees 3D Embossing Folder. After making the impression with the embossing folder, I lightly ran my white ink pad over the raised areas.

Using scrap pieces of white cardstock, i trimmed it down to create a snow slope and popped it up with foam squares to the bottom of the background panel.

I then added trees from Slender Pine Trees 94796 that I cut out of Yuletide Plaid PP1031 and leafy 6x6 pack SP1011. I adhered to the embossed background.

MB snowman 1

I popped the adorable snowman onto the snow slopes and added cute presents from Pretty Presents 94761 that I cut out of pattern paper

I then added a sentiment from Holiday Wishes CL5286 that I heat embossed onto black cardstock with white embossing powder. I used the coordinating dies to cut that out before I popped it onto my card front.

To finish off the card, I attached it to a top folding card base.

And that is it! I hope you found some inspiration and get crafty! Until next time!

Leaves and Berries, Candles, and Joy
by Anne Thompson

Today's card features the LEAVES AND BERRIES  CS2084 corner cling stamp, the MERRY AND BRIGHT CANDLES 94812, and BELLO JOY 94763.  I hadn't stamped and colored anything recently and this image was calling me.

Unnamed-3 (1)

to make this card

I started with a white A2 horizontal note card with the fold on the lefthand side.

I inked up the LEAVES AND BERRIES CS2084 stamp using VersaFine Clair Shady Lane ink and stamped the image in the upper left corner.   I used several red colored pencils (Scarlet Red and Crimson Red) for the berries and a Grass Green for the holly leaves.

Unnamed-1 (1)

I die cut the MERRY AND BRIGHT CANDLES 94812 from white card stock and colored the candle pieces using the same red pencils and I used Yellow Ochre and Canary pencils for the flames.  I assembled the candles and added them to the lower right front of the note card.

Unnamed (1)

I used a scrap of paper from the YULETIDE CHEER PP1032 pad to die cut the BELLO JOY 94763 background and white card stock for the detailed letters which I glued onto the red paper.  I added this sentiment in the lower left on the card front.

Unnamed-2 (1)

I do feel like this card needs some sparkle so I'll have to look for something to add to the candle flames and the berries to glam it up a bit.

Happy Crafting!

Plush felt and shimmery Rainbow Reflections cardstock add bright texture to a holiday greeting from our 2024 Yuletide Collection.  Golden pine branches and Fringed Scalloped Frames create a green-on-green backdrop for a festive bird.  Hi, Jean here with a simple holiday design from our latest release.

Attach adhesive label paper or a sticker sheet to bright red wool-blend felt and cut the large bird from the new Watchful Bird set.  Cut the detailed overlay from the red Rainbow Reflections 6x6.  There's an additional head overlay diecut but we're not using that here.  Cut the backing piece for the eye and beak from Glossy Black Paper (cardstock).  Push a toothpick thru the eye cutout of the main felt diecut to enlarge the opening.  Assemble the bird - attach the black diecut behind the head.

Cut the olive green pine print -  from the Yuletide Cheer 6x6 set -  with the smallest Fringed Scalloped Frame.  Cut two shades of green from the Greenery 6x6 Collection with the next 2 larger frames.

Merry Christmas Card
by Donna Sledzik

IMG_8940

Hello everyone!  Today I have another Christmas card for you featuring the new Yuletide collection.

IMG_8942

I started by using the Winter Knit 3D embossing folder to dry emboss a white cardstock panel.

Next, I die cut the Vertical Line Collage from pink cardstock and glued this to the white embossed card panel.  I adhered the panel to a white cardstock mat and used foam tape to glue it to a red card base.

The pine and holly leaves were die cut from green cardstock and inked with Peeled Paint Distress Ink.  The berries were die cut from red cardstock and Aged Mahogany Distress Ink was added to the edges of the berries.

I spattered the holly leaves, berries and pine branches with white ink and adhered them to the card.

IMG_8941

To finish the card, I glued a sentiment strip to the card front.

That's it for today!  Have a great day everyone!

Believe
by Angie Cimbalo

Believe 1

Hello and welcome, it's Angie here today with a holiday card full of sparkle!  I used the brand new "Snowflake Hot Foil Plate" to create my background on a piece of red paper from the "Blush" paper pad.

Sometimes when I hot foil, I actually get a hot mess on my paper, but I have a tip for you if your end result after foiling has foil in places you don't want it!  As you can see below, some of the foiled snowflakes look pretty bad with extra foil that got stuck in places it shouldn't and then there are some that look pretty good.  The reason that some flakes look better is because once I saw it come out messy, I took my sand eraser and rubbed it over places where extra foil landed and in places I didn't want foil.  It really cleans up foiled papers that don't always turn out perfectly.

Foil tip

So you can see below up close, the panel that started out with messy foiled snowflakes was saved by my sand eraser.  The reason you get overfoiling has to do with your machine's temperature setting, the brand of foil you are using and how many seconds you set the timer.  Some foils require more time/heat and others don't, so it takes some experimenting - but the sand eraser is your friend when it comes to hot foiling that is for sure!  (The foil I used is called speckle silver glimmer foil.)

Close believe

I used only 3/4 of the top of the card for my red panel and added it to a piece of white woodgrain paper, then added that to a white card base.  I cut the "Drifting Snowflake" detailed die from silver glitter paper from the "Glitzy Paper Pad" and also cut 2 thin silver glitter strips to add to the left and right side of the card front.  I cut the background die from the "Drifting Snowflake" from navy cardstock from the "Lagoon Paper Pad" for the dark background to enhance the silver glitter snowflakes.

I cut the sentiment "Believe Enchanted Script" die from white for the backgound and from navy card stock for the thinner letters and then glued them together.  Once dried, I added it to the bottom of the card on the woodgrain paper.  Lastly I added some silver jewels to the glitter snowflake centers, from the "Christmas Fairy Jewels" pack.  Here is one last look:

Oh, Joy! Cookies!!!
by Anne Thompson

Who doesn't love a tray full of fresh-baked cookies?!!! Here's a card featuring the DIMPLED COOKIES 94762, just out of the oven and cooling off before decorating them.

0 (2)

to make this card

Cover the front of an A2 note card with the fold at the top using one of the patterned papers from YULETIDE CHEER PP1032.

Unnamed-3 (2)

Cut a "tray" using the next to the largest die in the FRINGED SCALLOPED FRAME SET 94842 and another patterned paper from the Yuletide Cheer paper pad.

Unnamed-6 (2)

Die cut the DIMPLED COOKIES 94762 from white card stock and and cut an extra set of the smaller round cookies--you'll need two that have the scalloped edge.

Unnamed-7 (2)

Use a fingertip dauber and VersaFine Clair Acorn ink to add some crispy edges and browning to the cookies.

Unnamed-1 (2)

Remember when I saved the J and Y from the SNOWFLAKE JOY 94797 awhile ago?  I'm going to use those letters for this card's sentiment along with the Snowflake Joy background cut from the back side of the poinsettia paper scrap.

Unnamed-5 (1)

to assemble this card

Add the "tray" to the front of the note card.

Place the cookies on the tray, using dimensional foam for some of them.

Add the Snowflake Joy background, the letters J and Y, and one of the scallop-edged cookies for the O.

Here's a closer view.

Unnamed-4 (1)

What a yummy card!

Here's a second version using a smaller tray.

0 (2)

I think I like this one better because the words are all the way off the tray.  My next project will be to decorate some cookies for another card.  Did you see Angie's Sweet Holiday Cookies card posted on August 3rd?  So cute!  Will you bake up some cookie cards for the holidays???

Happy crafting!
