to make this card

  • start by selecting one of the plaid papers from Anemone Plaid, trim it to 5 1/4 X 4 and add it to the front of a white note card  (mine is a top-fold card)
  • die cut all of the Festive Bunny parts--the body of the bunny from two shades of gray or brown cardstock; the vest and the arms that show the gloves from white cardstock; the coat parts from two shades of violet cardstock
  • assemble the bunny body and add a black jewel for his eye
  • and then dress the bunny--I actually put the clothes together and added them to the bunny as a completed unit
  • use dimensional foam to attach the bunny to the left side of the note card

IMG_2880 (1)

  • die cut the Berry Branches and Leaves from one of the dark teal cardstocks
  • add the branches to the upper right corner of the note card and then add the leaves at the branch tips
  • add Fairy Jewels to each of the berries on the branches
  • die cut the Happy Easter Curled Script from a scrap of the same cardstock used for the darkest color of the coat
  • use a glue pen to add it to the lower right part of the note card

Here's another look at the finished card.

From Bud to Blossom by Jean Okimoto

P1030655

Balance the bold dimensions of the beautiful Anemone Bloom with a slimline card and a simple greeting from the January Anemone Collection.  Soft blues can be frosty winter pastels - or in anticipation of spring - just 5 weeks away!  Hi, Jean here with a simple  thank you card from our latest release.

P1030685

Cut Anemone Bloom from a light blue 6x6 in the Ocean Blue Collection.  Color the stamens with Morning Mist VersaFine Clair - we're using just the two larger pieces here.  Color the sepal with Shady Lane VersaFine Clair.  Set them aside to dry.

Cut white cardstock with the die from the Vintage Tray 3D Embossing Folder and Die Set. We're using just 2 of the diecuts here - save the others for another project.  The tray's diecuts are perfectly-sized for several of the new rub ons.

Cut the bud from the new White Anemone Rub Ons - leave a generous border around the design.  Carefully remove the paper liner.  Gently tap the design onto the small rectangle diecut. Place it between two layers of printer paper and run it through your diecut machine to burnish the bud onto the cardstock. (The rub ons set (2 sheets) includes a wood craft stick to burnish the designs if a diecut machine isn't available.)  Carefully remove the frosty plastic layer.

Back to the anemone...assemble the blossom.  Attach it to the larger white rectangle diecut - use foam tape between the petals for shadowy dimension.

Glue two pieces of the same Ocean Blue 6x6 together for dimension and cut the Thank You Debut Script background.  Cut the delicate top layer from white cardstock.  Assemble the greeting.

P1030667

Attach the diecuts to a blue slimline card (3-½" x 8-½") - use foam tape for the greeting.  Add blue Christmas Fairy Dewdrops.  Cut a slimline-sized piece of cardstock to protect the card front for mailing.

Thanks for visiting - Happy Valentine's Day to everyone celebrating tomorrow!

Anemone Card and Envelope
by Anne Thompson

Need a card at the last minute?  Have some of the White Anemone Rub-Ons?  Make a card and envelope like this!

IMG_2850 (1)

I made cards like this yesterday with a group at the senior center here in town.

These are the materials we used.

IMG_2849 (1)

  • Choose one of the plaid papers from ANEMONE PLAID PP1025.
  • Trim it to 4 X 5 1/4.
  • Add it to the front of an A2 top-fold note card.
  • Cut a piece of white card stock 3 X 4 1/4.
  • Select one of the stemmed anemones from WHITE ANEMONE RUB ONS RUB103.
  • Apply it to the white card stock using the stick provided.
  • Add VersaFine Clair Warm Breeze ink around the edges using a fingertip dauber.
  • Add that panel to the note card.

IMG_2851 (1)

I always like to bring some element from the front of the card to the inside.  We took the piece we cut from the background panel and cut it in half to make two 1" strips.  We added one to the inside of the card along with a smaller Anemone blossom.

0-8 (1)

I also like to add something to the envelope that hints about what's inside.  We added the other strip of paper and one or two more Anemone blossoms or buds to the envelope as well.

0-9 (1)

And that's it.  We chose to use our cards as valentines and added stamped valentine messages inside and out on the note card.  A card like this can be used for so many occasions.

Happy Crafting!  And Happy Valentines Day later this week!

Happy Spring
by Angie Cimbalo

Main

Hello and welcome, it's Angie again here today with a quick and easy Happy Spring card featuring new paper and a beautiful word die from the latest Anemone Collection release.

I used one of the pretty papers from the "Anemone Grove" 6X6 paper pad.  It's so detailed and filled with little anemone flowers, leaves and berries in pinks, whites and greens.  There's just a little yellow in there too, so look closely below at the gorgeous details in this paper:

Close

I put the paper behind a heart opening in the card front, made with the "Double Stitch Happy Heart Cut-Out" die and then die cut the "Happy Spring Debut Script" die from inked cardstock and white cardstock.  Next I added it to the heart center and then added "Pastel Jewels" (JWO002) in each of the tiny flower centers.

I do have a quick tip for you if you use liquid glue to add the thin letters to the shadow, or really for anytime you have delicate dies to glue together.  Put a dab of glue on either a scrap piece of paper or even on the back of your hand and spread it around, the quickly tap the back of the delicate die piece in the glue and adhere it.  This keeps you from getting glue seeping out and really works well if you are using mirrored papers too.  Even though most glues dry clear, if glue seeps out on mirror type paper, it always seems to show even after it dries.  Just a little tip I use to glue my sentiment together and any other tiny dies when I don't want any glue seepage.

Here's one last look at my card for today:

1

This card was super quick and with those gorgeous papers, and one word die, it makes a fast and beautiful card in no time.  I hope you will give this design a try.  You can even keep several on hand in your stash without a sentiment on it and then when you need a particular card for any occasion you will have one ready to go!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  See you next time!

3D Embossed Anemone Collage by Jean Okimoto

P1030239

Inky highlights call attention to the details of the new Anemone Drift 3D Embossing Folder and Die Set.  Remember way back when pressure embossing meant a hand-embossing with a lightbox and stylus?   Thank goodness for embossing folders that make it so easy to create cards now! Hi, Jean here with another design from our January Anemone Collection.

Trim a light blue/lavender 6x6 from the Twilight Purple Collection to about 5" x 6" and spritz both sides with a light mist of water.  Emboss it with the Anemone Drift 3D Embossing Folder.

P1030273

Highlight the design with inks - shaded lilac and mowed lawn Distress Oxides were used here.  Dry the inks, then cut the tray usng the  die from the Vintage Tray set.

Cut the tray again from a light blue 6x6 from the Ocean Blue pack. We're using just the frame here - I inked the woodgrain diecuts for another project.  Attach it to a  pale lavender A2 card.  Add the embossed/inked anemone pieces.

Cut two backgrounds from Hello Debut Script set and glue them together for dimension. Cut the  detailed top layer from a dark blue Stormy Blue 6x6.  Assemble the greeting.

P1030257

Attach everything to a light lavender A2 card.  Add blue Bright Jewels.

Thanks for visiting!

Greetings
by Donna Sledzik

IMG_7856

Hi everyone, today's card features more new products from the new 2024 January Anemone release.  I decided to use the Anemone Bloom as my focal point for my card.

The anemone was die cut from white cardstock and I used Distress Inks to add color to the images.

Flower: Spun Sugar and Picked Raspberry Distress Inks

Leaves: Peeled Paint Distress Ink

Flower Centers: Black Soot Distress Ink

I glued the anemone together and put it aside while I worked on the card background.

IMG_7858

I dry embossed cream cardstock using the Anemone Drift 3D embossing folder.  This was glued to a black cardstock mat and then adhered to a cream woodgrain card base.

Using a circle layer die, I die cut a circle from the Anemone Plaid paper pad and glued it to the card.

Next, I used foam tape to adhere the Anemone Bloom to the card and spattered it with gold ink.

The word "Greetings" was die cut from gold metallic cardstock and the shadow from black cardstock.  I glued the word to the black shadow die cut and used foam tape to adhere it to the card.

IMG_7857

To add some interest to the card, I finished by adding some black embellishments to it.

Thanks foe stopping by today and have a great week!
