Greetings friends. I was in the mood to join a color challenge this week. Sometimes it is a lot of fun to use a color palette chosen by someone else. For my card today, I used the directive from the Color Hues Challenge. The current color palette is pink and plum.
When I started the challenge, I quickly learned that I don't really have true plum colored papers and inks. I was quite surprised and chose purples as close as a could. I think the main point of a challenge is to be inspired and do the best you can.
To make my card, I started by adding pink and purple chalk to white cardstock:
Next, I stamped the Wildflower Field on top of the chalk with black Staz On ink:
I then colored the flowers and leaves with pink and purple Prismacolor pencils. When I was finished coloring, I stamped the image again using black ink and my stamp positioner. I wanted to put the details back onto the flowers and leaves:
To finish the card, I added a black Thank You tab to the corner. I really enjoyed the challenge because I don't usually use these colors together, and I definitely normally wouldn't use purple for the "ground." It is good to shake things up a bit in your cardmaking.
Thanks for visiting!
