Confetti Make a Wish

Greetings friends. Today I want to share with you a confetti background using the new Party Confetti stencil pack. To make the background, I selected two of the four stencils for my confetti. You could definitely use just one stencil if you wanted a more subtle effect.

I wanted to make sure that my two stencils wouldn't overlap the confetti, so I practiced laying one on top of the other. In the first picture, you can see that I didn't get it quite right. I had some confetti that would be overlapping other confetti:

I turned the top stencil until I found the perfect match with no overlapping:

If you like the confetti to overlap, you can do that too. I would start by layering lighter colors so that you could overlap with darker colors.

I started with my bottom stencil and stenciled the spaces with pinks, yellows and oranges. I then removed the stencil and put the second stencil on top. I stenciled those spaces with greens, blues and purples. I thought it easier to keep track of my colors by stenciling half of the colors using the first stencil and half with the second.

Once of the nice thing I noticed about the two stencils is that the holes are far enough apart on each individual stencil that you didn't really have to worry about getting extra color onto neighboring confetti spaces.

To finish the card, I cut out five candles using yellow cardstock and then cut out more candles using scraps of Memory Box foil paper. I really liked the extra glitz you get from the foils. It looks festive to me. To make a complete candle, I cut off the base of each foil candle and glued it onto one of the yellow candles. With this technique, I ended up with a shinny candle base and a yellow flame.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
