Party Time Birthday Card
by Sara Cook

Hi everyone. I have a simple but spectacular birthday card featuring the new Party Time 3D embossing folder with matching stencils.  The embossing folder and stencils make it quick and easy to create memorable birthday cards.  Just change up the colors or the die cuts to personalize it for someone special.

Background:

Take a A2 size white card and 3D emboss using the Party Time folder.  Use the matching stencils to ink blend with Distress Oxide Squeezed Lemonade, Bundled Sage, Tumbled Glass, and Dried Marigold. Use a brush to apply the ink and go light for the first stencil layer and heavy for the 2nd layer using the same ink.  Trim card to 4" x 5 1/4" and adhere to a A2 orange paper from the Sunrise pad.

Focal Image/Sentiment:

Die cut Happy Birthday Chic Script and Pretty Presents from white card stock.  Ink blend with the same Distress Oxide colors.  Clear heat emboss several times to create a thick clear coat on all the die cut. Adhere the present together using the envelope as q guide. Adhere the happy birthday to the center of the card and adhere the presents around the sentiment. Adhere the background to a A2 white side folding card.

Cut the cake pieces twice from pink cardstock.  Layer them for dimension.  Cut 5 candles from lighter pink cardstock.  Color the flames with a marker - I used a light yellow highlighter for a softer color.  Cut the scalloped icing from a pink 6x6 in the Delicate Pastels Glitter Pad.

Cut two sets of the streamers from the gold Vintage Pastel Mirror Pad 6x6.

Cut the largest Double Stitch Happy Heart Cutout from the same pink Delicate Pastels 6x6.  Cut it again with the second-largest heart die.

Attach the diecuts to a white A6 card (4-1/2" x 6-1/4") - use foam tape for the smaller heart(slightly offset) and the cake.

Stamp the greeting - from the new Birthday Chic Clear Stamps and Die Set - with Rose Bud Memento Luxe.  Heat-emboss it with detail clear powder.  Attach it with foam tape.  Cut an A6-sized piece  of cardstock to protect the cardfront for mailing.

Happy Birthday Card
by Theary Chea

Hello friends!

It’s Theary back on the blog again. I can’t believe it’s the beginning of the new year and what better way to celebrate it than to play with an amazing new release!

Today I am sharing a bright and cheerful birthday-themed card. This card was super easy to make. It requires just a little bit of ink blending and a little bit of die-cutting.

MB Wrapper Candles 1

Step 1:

Blended Distressed Oxides in the colors picked raspberry, squeezed lemonade, and mermaid lagoon onto a 4.25-inch x 5.50-inch white cardstock. I blended vertically with my blending brush with picked raspberry, squeezed lemonade, and then mermaid lagoon.

Step 2:

I ranned the Happy Birthday Background Plate on white cardstock through die cutting machine. Then, adhere over the inked blended card panel using liquid adhesive.

MB Wrapper Candles 2

Step 3:

Then use a basic heart-shaped die to cut the heart out of a sheet of vellum paper.

Step 4:

Cut 3 Wrapper Candles from pink, yellow, and white card stocks. Assemble and adhere using liquid.

Step 5:

Adhere candles to the vellum heart and pop on a foiled sentiment.

  • assemble the cake when dry

 IMG_4734 (1)

  • mount the cake on a 1 1/2" square of coordinating card stock using dimensional foam squares
  • add that panel to a 2" square cut from white card stock

I thought this color combination would work well for a masculine birthday card.  Change up the colors of the background paper and the Birthday Party Cake pieces for a totally different look.  A fun card to send to anyone of any age!

Happy Crafting!

Party Time Happy Birthday
by Angie Cimbalo

Bday 1

Hello and welcome, it's Angie here today with a fun birthday card using products from the new January release.  Here's a closer look at my card:

Bday close

I used the new EF1048 Party Time 3D embossing folder and dies set (I didn't use the dies) along with the coordinating 88633 Party Time stencils to creat my background.  I used 3 inks, pink, yellow and teal.  Once embossed and stenciled, I cut it down slightly more than 1/2 inch on the top and the side, matted it on a black panel cut to 5" X 3.75."  The Happy Birthday Celebration Script die 94866 was cut from both black for the shadow, and cut the words from an inked panel (using the same 3 colors of ink.)

After gluing the sentiment together, I popped it up on foam dots for dimension.  Here's one last look at my card:

Smooth Embossing Folder Inking
by Angie Cimbalo

Pink main

Hello and welcome, it's Angie here today with a very easy yet beautiful card you can create using products from the newest 2025 Happy Birthday Release!  Today I am using the:

EF1024 Breezy Bouquet 3D embossing folder and die set and the coordinating

CL5277 Breezy Bouquet Clear Stamp and die set

The look you get with this technique reminds me of several Japanese vases my mom had from the 1950's when we came back from my father's being stationed in Okinawa, Japan.  She kept these beautiful vases on her dresser in her bedroom.  I believe they were called Wedgewood Blue Jasperware, you can Google that and see pictures of them.

Here's a close up look:

Pink close

The technique I used to ink the debossed of the embossing folder is to use a medium soft brayer (I use the black Tim Holtz one) and your glass mat.  I've tried often to ink embossing folders in many different ways, but this is the only way I have found that make a soft smooth layer of color on your background.  Make sure you are putting the ink on the debossed side.

To make it smooth, take your ink pad (I used Distress Oxide Saltwater Taffy) and put lots of ink on your glass mat, directly with pad on the glass  mat.  Next take your brayer and bray over the ink over and over until your glass mat has a very smooth even color of ink BEFORE you take the brayer directly to the debossed side of the folder.  You will need to do this about 5 or 6 times - believe me, it takes several coats.  You will actually see the smooth ink forming on the folder with about the 3rd or 4th pass, but just keep going because you won't get a dark enough panel if you stop there.

Once inked lay the cardstock on the dry side of the inside of the embossing folder and close it.  Run it through your die cutting/embossing machine (I used my Platinum 6 machine) and take it out carefully to let it dry.  The floral pattern will be press upward and look stunning.  Be sure to clean your embossing folder while you wait for the ink to dry and also wipe up any excess ink on your glass mat.  I often use a clean piece of cardstock to pick up some of the left over ink, I'll spray it with water to get more of it up on the cardstock.  Now you have any extra pinkish panel you can use for a different card.

The sentiment is from the Breezy Bouquet clear stamp set, heat embossed in white on black cardstock.

Here's one last look at my card:

Pink 1

Now let's take a look at another card I made earlier this month with a technique you can use to achieve almost the same results but with even more texture.  I posted this card on my blog on the release day Jan 3rd.  In case you missed it, here's another look:

Blue main

For this card I used the brayer technique with Distress Oxide Salvaged Patina ink the same way that I did the pink one above.

Blue close

Next I took a piece of vellum and used the coordinating floral die from the stamp set to cut the flower out.  Once cut, place it inside the 3D embossing folder taking care to line it up exactly, then run it through your machine to emboss the vellum.  Once embossed, place it on top of the white embossed section of your orginal inked panel.  I used liquid glue under the sentiment to attach the vellum to the raised white embossed part of the blue panel.  To secure it in a few other places, I added just very tiny dots of a dot runner to various places under the vellum so you can't see the adhesive.

Lastly I added a few Fairy Jewels to the card front and the largest flower's center.

Here's one last look:

Blue 2

I hope you like my card for today, I have lots of fun making them!  Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check out the entire new release!  For more links and info, you can go to my blog here.

Using Paper Scraps
by Laura Fulcher

IMG_4598

Greetings friends. Memory Box has a new birthday release, and I would like to show you a background using one of the new dies as well as strips of paper scraps.

First, I cut out the Bubble Dot Plate using white cardstock. This is what it looks like:

IMG_4594

Next, I cut out 1/4" strips of paper out of my leftover paper scraps. I then adhered them to the back of the dot background die:

IMG_4595

When I finished adding all of my strips, the cardstock looked like this:

IMG_4596

When I glued the strips down, they weren't quite straight. However, with the dot design on the front, you don't notice that the strips are a bit crooked. The technique is very forgiving.

To finish the card, I cut out my scalloped background, birthday sentiment and little bird. Of course, I had to give the little bird a birthday hat!

Thanks so much for stopping by. Let me know if you have a favorite way of using up your paper scraps. I would love to hear your suggestions.

The centers are cut from green 6x6's in the Festive Glitter Pad and Greenery Collection.  Cut Lavender Bouquet from a Greenery 6x6 for the foliage and stems.

Attach ScorTape above a strip of the dark coral Blush 6x6 and cut it with the background of the Congrats Marker Script die.  Cut the detailed top layer from white cardstock.  Save the individual letters for another project.  Attach the detailed layer to the adhesive-covered background - slightly offset for a shadow effect.   Cover the exposed adhesive with Imagine's Irirdescent Embossing Powder.  Tap off the excess powder, then heat-emboss the greeting.  It'll be glittery and securely attached in one easy step!

Happy Birthday Card
by Donna Sledzik

IMG_0095

Hello and Happy New Year everyone!

Today's card features new products from the 2025 Memory Box Birthday Wishes release.

IMG_0097

I began by ink blending a background on white cardstock and die cutting it with the new Happy Birthday Background Plate.  Next, I spattered the background with gold ink and glued it to a white card base.

IMG_0078

The cake, candles and cake trims were die cut from white cardstock and colored with dye inks.  The confetti and a few cake trims were die cut from gold cardstock.  The cake was assembled as shown and adhered to the card with foam tape.

IMG_0096

To finish the card I glued some gold pearls to the card for a little bling.

That's it for today!  Have a great day!
