Joy Card by Donna Sledzik
Happy Thursday everyone! My card today features the fabulous products from the new 2024 Yuletide release. I was inspired by this non-traditional color palette that I have been seeing on Pinterest. I love all the postage cards that I have seen online and thought of a way to adapt the Memory Box Dies to give a similar look.
I started by die cutting the 2 smallest dies from the Fringed Scalloped Die from white cardstock. I cut the larger of the dies twice from white cardstock, the smaller one once from white cardstock and then altered the larger die cuts by placing then back in the die to create different sizes.
Next, I taped around each die cut to leave a white border around the edges and blended a light coat of ink in the center of the die cuts.
I die cut the second largest shape from the Fringed Scalloped die set and lightly applied pink ink over the Falling Snowflake Stencil to create the background.
I 3D embossed a piece of pink cardstock using the Pinecones and Berries embossing folder and adhered it to a white card base. The stenciled background was glued on top of the pink panel.
I die cut the snowman, holly leaves and snowflakes from white cardstock and used a blending brush and distress inks to add color to the die cuts.
Snowman hat and scarf: Candied Apple
Snowman edges: Tumbled Glass
Snowman nose: Carved Pumpkin
Holly Leaves and Pine needles: Mowed lawn
Holly Berries: Candied apple
Next, I assembled the snowman and glued him to one of the block die cuts and used foam tape to adhere him to the card. I did the same with the snowflakes and holly blocks.
I tucked in and glued the pine needles in place behind the blocks.
The word "Joy" was die cut from red cardstock and glued to the white cardstock shadow die cut. I used foam tape to adhere it to the card.
To finish the card, I glued red fairy crystals to the center of the snowflakes.
Have a great day! Thanks for stopping by.
