Window Floral Card
by Sara Cook

Hi everyone.  I have a card using a box style design to create a window over a floral scene inside.  The window box will help keep the florals scene safe and not get smooshed.

Window Box:

Cut a heavy weight dark blue card stock to 7" x 5 3/4".  In each side score at 1/4" then 3/4" marks.  Fold on the 1/4" score first then the 3/4" along each score side.  This will create squares in each corner.  Trim away each square, cutting along the score line.  To create the window die cut the the center using the largest die from the Double Stitch Rectangle Cut Out. Trim down acetate to just slightly less than  4 1/4" x 5 1/2".  Adhere to the back side of the window box. Die cut the Exquisite Leaf Frame from a light green paper from the Greenery pad.  Ink blend using Distress Oxide Rustic Wilderness from the edges to the middle of the leaves and then Scorched Timber just around the ends. Adhere the back of the acetate.  Add 1/4" double sided tape the inside of the 1/4" score line.

Floral arrangements:

Die cut the lightest yellow from the Sunrise pad using Anemone Blooms and Blooming Anemone.  Ink blend using a small angles blending brush and Oxide Scattered Straw.  Use the angled end of the brush to add ink along the indents of the petals. Shape the petals using small stylist and a large stylist on a foam pad.  Adhere together with Die cut the Leaf Bunches from a medium green from the Lagoon paper pad.  Ink blend the same way with  Oxide Forest Moss.  Shape the leaves the same way as the petals.

Butterflies:

Die cut the Exquisite Butterflies from white card stock.  Ink blend the 2 largest butterflies with Oxide Squeezed Lemon Aid from the center out then Faded Jean from the edge to 1/4 way in.  Ink blend the bodies with VersaFine Clare Nocturne.  Adhere the bodies to the wings. Shape the wings by forming them around a pencil or pen.

Assembly:

Trim a light blue patterned paper from the Anemone Grove release to slightly smaller than 4 1/4" x 5 1/2".  Adhere the leaves, then the flowers and butterflies into the patterned paper.  Adhere the window box over the patterned paper wrapping the 1/4" tape score fold to the back of the patterned paper.  Adhere the box to the top of a A2 size card.
