Floral Bouquet Birthday Card
by Sara Cook

Hi everyone.  I have a card using the dies to create other images.  I wanted to create a bouquet of flowers and needed to create something to hold it.  I used the bird's nest to create a basket.

Baskest:

Use the ink smooshing technique on heavy cream card stock to create a multi color paper.  I used Distress Oxide Antique Linen, Gathered Twiggs, and Scorched Timber.  Let the paper dry completely before die cutting using the Bird's Nest.  Die cut the nest 3 times.  Adhere the bottom layer to a dark brown card stock, putting the 3 die cuts in a column.  Trim around and under in some areas around the die cuts.  Adhere the next 2 layers on one top of each other.

Bouquet:

Die cut several times, using a heavy white card stock, of the following dies; Clara Blooms, Leaf BunchesLayered Star Flowers (both flowers and leaves), and Birch Press Design Budding Twigs Contour Layers. For the bouquet ink blend using Oxide inks, with heavy to light inking to create variance in color. Colors used for the leaves and steams was Bundled Sage and Scorched Timber and flowers Squeezed Lemonade and Shaded Lilac.  Shape and adhere the flower die cuts together. Also die cut several of the branches from the Berry Branches and Leaves from Neenah Desert Storm card stock.

Assembly

Die cut white card stock using the largest die from the Postage Rectangle Layers.  Ink blend using Oxide Dried Marigold all over back ground.  Add foam tape to back and adhere to a white A2 size card.  Add double sided tape runner to the back of the basket and arrange the flowers.  Add additional adhesive to secure the flowers.  Adhere to the front of the card.  Add any other leaves, branches, flowers to fill in any empty spots.  Adhere a Happy Birthday Greetings White Tab to the basket.

Love this card. What a neat way to make a container for the flowers.
