Thanks You and Sympathy Floral Cards
by Angie Cimbalo

Vellum thanks main

Hello and welcome, it's Angie here today!   I have a card design for you today, that I made for two different purposes. One is a "thank you" card and the other is a "sympathy" card and I used the same technique to create each of these.

The main image was created by dry embossing the large flower from the Cheerful Floral 3D embossing folder (EF1025) on a piece of white card stock and a piece of vellum. Once embossed, I added Distress Inks in Fired Brick and Seedless Preserves on both the debossed side of images - ink pad direct to paper, then used the coordinating die that comes in the Cheerful Floral Clear stamp and die set (CL5278 and CLD5278) I cut both of them out. I did not use the stamp, just the large floral die from the set.

Next I layered the inked vellum piece on top of the inked white panel and adhered them together using a tape runner putting tape only on the darker areas of ink so you can see it. Here's a closer look at the image:

Vellum thanks close

I added that piece to a card base that was 5.5" tall and 3.25" wide. Next I took a piece of A2 card stock (4.25" by 5.5") and added 1/2 inch strips of patterned paper from the Magnolia Grove PP1022 paper pad. Then I added back the the top folding card to the A2 panel right in the middle between the strips of paper. So now when you open the card the patterned paper stays on the inside of the card and only the white part opens up. The sentiment is a new white Circle Tab from the Thank You packed of gold foiled tab sentiment. Lastly I added jewels to the flower centers.

Here's one last look at my card:

Vellum thanks 1

The next card was made exactly the same except I used the stamp and die set CL5270 called Elegant Succulents and heat embossed it in white on black card stock. That is the only difference in the cards.

Here's a close up view:

And here's one final view:

I hope you like my cards for today, I had so much fun creating with the new release!
Be sure to stop by the blog often for more inspiration. Thanks for stopping by!

Easter Hello
by Trina Pham

IMG_5119

Hello everyone.  I’m sharing a circle shaped Easter card today featuring products from the current 2024 Spring Cheer release.

All pieces, including the sentiments, were die cut from white cardstock.  The lamb and flower centers were coloured/shaded with Copic Sketch markers and the rest were ink blended with distress inks (DI).

Copic markers used:
pinks - RV10/21/23
yellows - Y15, V01
whites/shading - T0/1/2/3

DI used:
sky - Tumbled Glass
grass - Twisted Citron, Mowed Lawn
basket - see my last card
eggs & Easter sentiment - Shaded Lilac, Faded Jeans
hello sentiment - Black Soot

IMG_5120

The second largest circle die in the Circle Basics set was used to die cut from white cardstock.  Ink blended the grass/sky on it, then glued the elements onto it.  Trimmed off the overhangs before matting it to an Anemone Plaid pattern paper circle.  Mounted the circle to a white circle card base to finish.

That’s it for my card.  Thank you for joining me today.  Have a wonderful day.

Re-posting and hoping the pictures aren't compressed and distorted this time...

Here's another new design from our Spring Cheer Collection...it's the happy Hippity Hoppity Bunny and his basket of eggs.  Hi, Jean here with another Easter idea today.

MemoryBoxHappySpringDebutScript, MemoryBoxHippityHoppityBunny, MemoryBoxCo, MemoryBoxDies, Diecutting, HandmadeCards, DiecutCards, FeltDiecuts, BunnyCards, SpringCards, JeanOkimoto, A2Cards, ImpressCardsAndCrafts

Cut the base sections of Hippity Hoppity Bunny from textured white cardstock.  Color areas of the ears, paws and muzzle with Distress Oxide spun sugar.  Color the eye areas with a black marker.  Attach adhesive label paper or a sticker sheet to tan wool-blend felt and cut the remaining pieces.  The paper backing stabilizes the felt and prevents glues from saturating it.

Highlight the texture of Cream Woodgrain Paper (cardstock) with Vintage Sepia VersaFine using the direct-to-paper process.  Cut the basket.

Color white cardstock for thge eggs - scribble marker inks to cut 6 eggs of each color.  Blue, Violet, Blue Green and Fuchsia Zebra Mildliners were used here.  Diecut the eggs and attach the behind the basket.

Diecut Wild Grass Border from 2 shades of green in the new Greenery 6x6 Collection.  Trim the sides with the bottom of the 3" wide Nested Globes die.  Layer the darker border behind the lighter border.

Cut a lavender/blue 6x6 from the Magonolia Plaid set with the 3-½" wide Nested Globes die.  Cut a pale lavender 6x6 from the Twilight Purple Collection with the 3" wide die.

MemoryBoxHappySpringDebutScript, MemoryBoxHippityHoppityBunny, MemoryBoxCo, MemoryBoxDies, Diecutting, HandmadeCards, DiecutCards, FeltDiecuts, BunnyCards, SpringCards, JeanOkimoto, A2Cards, ImpressCardsAndCrafts

Cut the same plaid sheet with the Happy Spring Debut Script background.  Cut the top layer from the purple Glitzy Glitter Pad sheet.  Assemble the greeting and attach it inside the card.

MemoryBoxHappySpringDebutScript, MemoryBoxHippityHoppityBunny, MemoryBoxCo, MemoryBoxDies, Diecutting, HandmadeCards, DiecutCards, FeltDiecuts, BunnyCards, SpringCards, JeanOkimoto, A2Cards, ImpressCardsAndCrafts

Attach the diecuts - angled - to a top-folded, corner-rounded white A2 card.  Add purple Autumn Fairy Crystals,  Cut an A2-sized piece of cardstock to protect the card front for mailing.

Thanks for visiting our blog...see you again this weekend!

Cheerful Floral
by Theary Chea

Hello, and welcome back to the blog. My name is Theary, and I am sharing a card I created using the beautiful Cheerful Floral stamp and stencil set. So, Let's get started!

MB Cheerful Floral 2

I started by stamping CL5278 Cheerful Floral onto white-colored cardstock that I trimmed to 4 inches by 5.25 inches. I stamped the image using black premium ink. Then, using 88619 Cheerful Floral stencil. I aligned each layer onto the cardstock and blended each layer with a different dye ink color. You can use any color to ink in the stencil. I chose inks in the colors fuchsia, green, and yellow.
MB Cheerful Floral 2

Then, using the last stencil, I used a low tack tape to tape the stencil down onto the colored image. I later went in with a blue shade of ink to ink around the edges of the stencil to create a shadow effect. I also added white highlights throughout the card panel with a white gel pen.
MB Cheerful Floral 2

I matted the card front onto a black piece of cardstock trimmed slightly larger than the card panel. I adhered it to a top folding white card base. I used a strip from ST005 Thank You Foil Greeting Black Tabs for the sentiment. I also added gems from GEM102 Winter Fantasy.

And that's it! I hope you found some inspiration and have time to get crafty. Until next time! I hope you have a wonderful day!

Hippity Hoppity Bunny Happy Easter
by Anne Thompson

Here's another cute bunny from the 2024 February Spring Cheer Collection--Hippity Hoppity Bunny.

IMG_2902 (1)

to make this card

  • Die cut the HIPPITY HOPPITY BUNNY 94728 from watercolor paper.
  • Color the bunny overlay pieces --I used a fingertip dauber and Hero Arts Wet Cement Ink.
  • Add the white head piece to the background bunny and then adhere the colored overlay pieces--I used a glue pen.
  • Color the tiny basket and eggs--Again I used fingertip daubers  and Ranger Distress Rusty Hinge for the basket, and Hero Arts Inks in Raspberry Jam, Fresh Peach and Butter Bar for the eggs.
  • Add the eggs by attaching them to the back of the basket and each other.

IMG_2895 (1)

  • Choose one of the plaid papers from ANEMONE PLAID PP1025, trim it to 4 X 5 1/4, and add it to the front of an A2 note card--I used a top-fold card.
  • Select a coordinating green from the GREENERY SOLID CORE CARDSTOCK PACK SP1011, trim it to  2 X 3 1/4, and add it to the note card in the upper left corner.

IMG_2892 (1)

  • Glue the bunny to the green panel.
  • Add the basket of eggs using a piece of dimensional foam behind the basket and a dot of glue on the handle to secure it to the bunny's hand.

IMG_2896 (1)

IMG_2900 (1)

  • Stack the letters and then adhere them at an angle at the bottom of the note card.
  • Bunnies have pink eyes so I used a colored pencil to color his eyes, but I'm going to keep looking for the right tiny gem instead.

IMG_2901 (1)

Once I get this guy's eyes fixed, he'll go into the stack of Easter cards I'll have ready to mail out in early March.

Hop on over to the Idea Book and Catalog here for more Spring Cheer inspiration.  And keep checking the blog every day for even more from the Design Team.

Easter Egg Basket Chick
by Trina Pham

IMG_5053

Hello everyone.  I’m going clean and simple (CAS) today with this fun Easter card featuring the Layered Chicks, Woven Basket of Eggs and Happy Easter Curled Script dies from the current 2024 Spring Cheer release.

Started by die cutting the Woven Basket of Eggs from white cardstock and the Layered Chicks from the lightest yellow Sunrise paper.  Used mini blending brushes to color and ink blend them with distress inks (DI):

basket - Brushed Corduroy
eggs - Picked Raspberry, Abandoned Coral, Spiced Marmalade, Mowed Lawn, Salvaged Patina, Mermaid Lagoon, Shaded Lilac
chick - Fossilized Amber, Spiced Marmalade, Black Soot

IMG_5056

For the background, Tumbled Glass DI was ink blended on an A2 size Bristol panel then spritz with water and blot with a paper towel for some texture.   Next, die cut the clouds from white cardstock and the sentiment from black glossy paper.  Added light shading on the clouds with C00 and C1 Copic Sketch markers.  Assembled the card onto a white card base to finish.

IMG_5058

That does it for this easy peasy Easter card. 😉   Thank you for joining me today.  Have a wonderful day.

Extra petals become buds for a spring greeting featuring the new Clara Blooms and Solid Core 6x6 Collections. They're arranged on a gold-speckled background created to match the new Black Circle Thank You Foil Greeting Tabs.  Hi, Jean here with a floral Friday idea to start your weekend.

P1031111

(The new Thank You Foil Greetings Black Circle Tabs are already pre-cut and ready to attach - the Circle Basics set shown above is used to cut a large background circle.)

Cut Clara Blooms from two shades of peachy-pink Blush Collection 6x6's.  Cut the centers from black cardstock.  Assemble two large and one medium blossom.  Trim the petals of the extra blossom to create buds.

Ciut Backyard Floral Stems from a medium-green 6x6 in the new Greenery Collection.

Glue two pieces of white cardstock together for dimension and diecut them with the second-largest Circle Basics die.  Trim about ½" from one side with the largest Square Basics die for a crisp, smooth edge.  Add a few dotty specks of Imagine's Gold Sheer Shimmer Spritz.  Air-dry it for a few minutes, then finish it off with a heat-tool.  Attach it to a top-folded white A2 card.

Attach the Fresh Cut Stems, Clara Blooms and buds - use bits of foam tape for some of the petals. Add a Black Circle Tab Thank You with foam tape.

The variety and versatility of Memory Box's floral collection is like having a huge year-round cutting garden in the back yard.  It's always in bloom and ready for your next project!

I cut a piece of Spring Plaid paper PP1012 and inked the edges with Seedless Preserves Distress Ink first.  Then I cut the critter pieces and sentiment from white card stock and then colored some of the parts and the sentiment with alcohol markers.

I popped the purple plaid panel on foam tape for dimension and then added fairy jewels to the card front.  Here's one last look:
