Birthday Winter Blooms
by Trina Pham

IMG_8424

Hello everyone.  I have a winter birthday card to share today, but it could have easily been a Christmas holiday card just by switching out the sentiment! šŸ˜‰

The Blushing and Delicate Blooms were die cut from white, the Brilliant Berries from Cherry Red, the Pinecone Duo pine needles from light gray and the Festive Holly leaves from dark gray papers.  Shading was added to the blooms and berries using the following Copic Sketch markers.

blooms - C00/1/3/5
berries - R39

An A2 size white woodgrain panel was then splattered with diluted black gouache paint.  Once dry, mounted it onto a white card base and assembled/adhered the floral arrangement.  For some sparkle, applied clear shimmer on the berries.  For ā€œwater dropletsā€, added some clear fairy drops.  A black Happy Birthday gold foil greeting finished it off.

That does it for me this year in 2024.  Thank you for joining me today.  Have a safe and happy new year!

Happy Birthday Presents
by Angie Cimbalo

Best

Hello and welcome, it's Angie here with a fun quick winter birthday card!  Here's a closer look at the background:

Close

To create the background I took a piece of "Pool Party" cardstock and used the "Falling Snowflakes Stencil" (88627) with clear embossing paste.  The paste when dried just looks slighly darker than the paper, but to accent that I added a little white ink on top of the panel.  Next I trimmed 1/2 inch off the panel so the plaid would show through.

I added the panel to a panel of "Nutmeg Plaid 6x6 pack" (PP1033) then added both of those to my card front.  I cut the "Pretty Presents craft die" (94761) from white and "Cranberry Paper Pack" (SH44014) and pieced them together.  I arranged them on the card front and added a "Happy Birthday Foil Greetings White Circle Tab" (ST010).

Here's one last look:

I hope you enjoyed this quick and easy birthday card and can use the ideas to create a card for someone you know with a winter birthday!  And here's wishing you a Happy New Year!

Piney Woods Thanks
by Anne Thompson

I need a few quick thank you notes to pop in the mail in the next day or so.  Because I live in the snowy piney woods of Maine, I made a card using the SLENDER PINE TREES 94796, PINE BRANCHES 94817, and the punched out snowflakes from DRIFTING SNOWFLAKES 94816 to create this first thank you card.

IMG_4679 (1)

materials used:
    top fold white note card; white watercolor paper; tree paper from NUTMEG FOREST PP1034;

slender pine trees 94796; PINE BRANCHES 94817; DRIFTING SNOWFLAKES 94816

THANK YOU FOIL GREETINGS WHITE TABS SToo4; two shades of green card stock scraps IMG_4681 (1)
to make this card

Start with a top fold white note card and add a paper from Nutmeg Forest PP1034 cut 4 X 5 1/4.

Die cut the Slender Pine Trees 94796 from two shades of green card stock and glue the pieces together.

Die cut the Pine Branches 94817 from the same dark green card stock.

Die cut the Drifting Snowflakes 94816 from white watercolor paper and punch out the two snowflakes to use on this card. (Save the other pieces for another project.)

Cut a piece of the white watercolor paper 2 X 3 1/4 and add this toward the right side of the card front.

Glue on three of the assembled trees.

Attach the two pieces of Pine Branches to the upper left corner of the panel.

Add one of the snowflakes on top of the Pine Branches and the other among the trees.  Add white pearls to the centers of the snowflakes.

Adhere the Thank You sentiment tab on the lower left card front. IMG_4678 (1)

One done!  This design may also work for the New Year's cards I intend to send as well with a handwritten sentiment on a die cut or punched out circle.

And here's a variation of this card using PINE TREE GROVE 94736 (from Christmas 2023) and a white circle greeting tab from my stash.

Snow Flurries in the Piney Woods
by Anne Thompson

I decided to use the SLENDER PINE TREES 94796, the PINECONE DUO 94802, and a few of the smaller SNOWFLAKE RUB ONS RUB105 to create a scene for this note card.

IMG_4657 (1)

materials used:

 IMG_4660 (1)

  • I started with a white note card and added a piece of plaid paper from NUTMEG PLAID PP1033 which I cut to 4 X 5 1/4.
  • I die cut the Slender Pine Trees 94796 from a scrap of dark green paper  and glued them onto the plaid paper.
  • Next I looked at the sheet of Snowflake Rub Ons RUB105 and cut out the smallest ones to add to the front of the note card.  I used the enclosed stick to apply them individually or in pairs among the trees.
  • Then I die cut and assembled the Pinecone Duo 94802.  I used dimensional foam dots to add them to the lower left corner.
  • I chose one of the Merry Christmas tabs I had in my stash but as I look at it now I'm going to change it out for one of the CHRISTMAS LABELS FOIL GREETINGS WHITE TABS ST022 instead.  If I use the Let It Snow one I can send this card after the holidays any time this winter.  (I'm thinking that any card I mail on Monday isn't going to get where it's going before Christmas anyway.)

Here's the revised card.

Christmas Cheer
by Angie Cimbalo

Main

Hello and welcome, it's Angie here with a fun Christmas card for you.  Here's a closer look:

Close

To make my card I embossed 2 white panels with the new Winter Knit 3D embossing folder EF1044 and then inked them both on the debossed side, one with red ink and one with gray ink.  I cut the gray panel with the new Fringed Scalloped Frame set (largest one) and then added red strips of card stock behind the tiny holes in the border.

I cut the Stitchable Stocking 94825 from white and from the red inked embosed panel and pieced them together.  I cut the accessories (flowers leaves, etc) from white card stock and colored them with alcohol markers and a white gel pen.

The background behind the scalloped panel is red glitter paper from the Glitzy Glitter Paper GP1007.  The embossed frame panel is popped up on foam tape for dimension.  The sentiment was heat embossed and it's from the new stamp set called Holiday Wishes CL5286.  Here's one last look:

A Stitchable Mitten window card delivers a hidden surprise for the holidays.  There's a giftcard adhered behind the mitten.   It's revealed only when the recipient opens the greeting card.  Hi, Jean here with my final  holiday card of 2024.

Cut Stitchable Mitten from the front of a top-folded white A2 card.  Cut the mitten again from the dark teal Yuletide Cheer poinsettia print.  Cut the cuff from a medium-green 6x6 in the Greenery Collection.

Here's the inside view...I've added a turquoise "faux-giftcard" cut from a turquoise 6x6 in the Lagoon Collection.  Attach the real giftcard inside the A2 card - carefully avoiding any barcode or scannable areas on the giftcard - then attach the mitten and cuff over it with foam tape.

Cut the leaves and circles from the mitten set from a Greenery Collection 6x6.  Cut the button and flowers from Cherry Red 8.5x11" cardstock.  Attach them near the bottom right corner  of the cutout.

Add a Merry Christmas Foil Banner White Greeting Tab.  Attach the right tip of the banner behind the leaf.  Add red Christmas Fairy Crystals.  Cut an A2-sized piece of cardstock to protect the card front for mailng.

Merry Christmas Card
by Donna Sledzik

IMG_9883

Hello everyone!  Today I have a quick and easy Christmas card for you.

I used the Holly and Branches stencil to create a quick background for my card.

Green and Red inks were used to stencil a white cardstock panel.  Next, I spattered the background with white inks and adhered it to a red cardstock mat.  This was glued to a white card base.

The sentiment was die cut from red and white cardstock and adhered to the card.

IMG_9884

To finish the card I added some clear Fairy Drops to add a little bling.

That's it for today!  I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
