Candycorn Haunting Ghosts by Jean Okimoto

Candycorn-colored Haunting Ghosts replace the typical white diecuts on today's card.  Hi, Jean here after a  series of Typepad photo-rejections and draft-saving issues, the bouncy new puppy and big tree challenges.  That called for something sunny, bright and happy...nothing scary!

Cut Haunting Ghosts from white cardstock and the bright yellow and orange Sunrise Collection 6x6 sheets.  Tried to keep the color proportions and sequence similar to real candycorn...details, details!  Attach scraps of black cardstock behind their eye cutouts.

Cut a pearlescent white vellum moon with the 1" Circle Basics die.

Cut the yellow/mustard Gladiola Plaid 6x6 diagonally with the 2-½" wide Nested Globes die.  Cut the new Orange Peel 8.5 x 11" Cardstock with the 2" Nested Globes die.  Cut the mustard/white Glimmering Gladiola leafy branch 6x6 with the 1-½" wide Nested Globes die.

Cut 3 new Eerie Spiders from Black Glossy Paper (cardstock).

Stamp the greeting - from the new Magical Halloween Clear Stamp and Die Set - on mustard cardstock with Nocturne VersaFine Clair.  Quickly emboss it with detail clear powder.  Cut it with the set's coordinating die.  Cut an extra greeting shape from black cardstock and layer it for dimension.

 

Trim the top corners of a yellow/orange A2 notecard with a rounding punch.  Attach the diecuts - use foam tape for the yellow ghost and behind the heads of the orange and white ghosts.  Cut an A2-sized piece of cardstock to protect the card front for mailing.

Vintage Gladiola Birthday Card by Sara Cook

Hi everyone.  I have a birthday card using the versatile Vintage Tray 3D embossing folder. 

Frame:

Die cut the Vintage Tray 3D Embossing Folder and Die 3 times from heavy weight cream card stock or water color paper.  3D emboss 1 of the die cuts using the folder.   Adhere the 3 die cuts together, keeping the embossed one on top, with glue.

Flowers: Die cut the Whimsical Gladiola and 1 of the Gladiola Floral Duo from heavy white card stock.  Ink blend with Distress Oxide Dried Marigold, Rusty Hinge, Old Paper, and Peeled Paint. Adhere together using the envelope as a guide.  Shape the larger Gladiola flower with your fingers to give it some dimension.

Butterflies:

Die cut the Exquisite Butterflies dies from gold paper fro the Vintage Pastel paper pad.  Curve the wings using your fingers or a pencil.  

Assembly:

Trim a pattern paper from the Glimmering Gladiola to A2 size and adhere on the front of a A2 size card. Adhere the frame to the front of the card.  Adhere the Exquisite Butterflies and Gladiolas in the individual frames.  Stamp Birthday Wishes from Poppy Stamp's Birthday Banners clear stamp and die set with black ink on white card stock and due cut.  Adhere to the bottom frame and add 1 of the butterflies.

Birthday Blossoms Slimline by Jean Okimoto

Celebrate summer - and a special birthday -  with a floral design from our 2024 Fuchsia Collection.  Add Fairy Dewdrops and an instant Foil Greeting Tab Circle...and you're ready to party!  Hi, Jean here with a birthday slimline idea that works with any combination of colors.  

Cut Fuchsia Bud Duo from light, medium and dark coral 6x6's in the Blush Solid Core Collection.  Cut the stems from a bright green Greenery 6x6 sheet.  

Cut the leaves and stem from the Hardy Fuchsia Buds set from the same shade of green  Remove the folded-leaf - it'll be replaced by an extra leaf from the set.  

Carefully remove the entire diagonal pink and orange plaid sheet from the Gladiola Plaid 6x6 set and cut it with part of the 1-⅜" wide Slim Basic Rectangle Layers die.

Cut the pale peach Blush Collection 6x6 with part of the 1-⅝" Slim Basic Rectangle Layers die.

Attach the diecuts to a white slimline card (3-½" x 8-½").  Add  a greeting from the Happy Birthday Foil Greetings White Circle Tabs set.  Attach green Christmas Fairy jewels.  Cut a slimline-sized piece of cardstock to protect the card front for mailing.

Framed Flower Birthday Card by Sara Cook

Hi everyone.  I have a simple design today featuring the Gladiola Plaid paper and Gladiola Floral Duo Die set.  The design using a frame to create a small area for the focal point to show more of the beautiful paper.

Flower:

Die cut the Gladiola Floral Duo from heavy white card stock.  Ink blend 1 of the flowers with Distress Oxide Dried Marigold.  Ink blend the stamen with Oxide Squeezed Lemonade and then Frayed Burlap. Shape the flowers with a large ball and tiny ball styles.  Adhere the die cuts following the front of the envelope.   

Frame:

Die cut the 3rd smallest Double Stitch Square Cut Out die and a slightly larger one form the Square Basics Set from gold paper from Vintage Pastel pad. Adhere foam tape around the bottom side to pop up the frame.

Butterfly:

Die but the smallest butterfly from the Exquisite Butterflies die set.  Ink blend the wings from the center to midway using Distress Oxide Squeezed Lemonade.  Ink blend with Shaded Lilac from the end of the wings to meet with the yellow. Ink blend the body with Frayed Burlap and adhere to the center.  Lightly curve the wings with your fingers.

Assembly:

Die cut the lightest yellow paper from the Sunrise pad using the sane sized Square Basics used for the frame.   Die cut the patterned paper from the Gladiola Plaid pad using the largest Stitched Rectangle Layers die set.  Trim a golden yellow paper from the Sunrise pap to A2 size.  Adhere the golden yellow paper to a A2 white card base.  Adhere the plaid paper to the center then the light yellow square to the center.  Adhere the frame with the foam tape over the yellow square paper.  Adhere the gladiola flower and then butterfly.  Adhere a Foil Happy Birthday Greeting White Tab.

More Exquisite Butterflies Gladiola Birthday by Trina Pham

Hello everyone.  I had some die cuts left over from my cards featuring the 2024 Gladiola collection, so I put them to use onto a card. 

The completed pink Whimsical Gladiola was from this post (you can see it lying beside the card in the photo).  The untouched butterfly pieces from this post was ink blended with Squeezed Lemonade, Mustard Seed and Black Soot distress inks (DI).  

 
An oval mask was then die cut from acetate using the Oval Basics die from Poppy Stamps.  Masked the center of an A2 size Bristol panel and ink blended Spun Sugar DI starting in the middle and fading outwards.  The Lattice Plate, also from Poppy Stamps, was die cut from Bristol.  Assembled the card onto a white card base, then added the gold foil greeting tab and clear shimmer to the flowers and butterfly for some sparkle to finish.  The butterfly was popped up on foam tape for even more dimension. .

  
My second card has the same design, but reversed.   An untouched Sensational Gladiola from this post was ink blended with Wilted Violet DI.  

 

Rather than masking the center with the positive die cut oval mask, the negative oval acetate piece was used as a stencil.  The Lattice Plate was die cut from acetate to use as a stencil, too.  Placed it over the oval opening then ink blended Shaded Lilac DI.

 

The butterfly here was a newly die cut from yellow Sunrise paper and ink blended with Mustard Seed and Black Soot DI.

 

Stamped the sentiments from Bold Cheerful Floral in black then assembled the card onto a white card base.  Repeated the clear shimmer application as above for some sparkle to finish.

Brighten someone's day with a sunny-bright thank you from the Gladiola Collection.  Hi, Jean here with a mix of big blossoms and little words - my new favorite design combination.

Cut the Gladiola Blossoms and Leaves petals from a bright yellow 6x6 in the Sunrise Collection.  Shade the center areas with Cheerful VersaFine Clair.  Cut the stamens and leaves from Black Glossy Paper.  

Assemble the blossom - attach the petals to a small scrap of cardstock (about 1" in diameter) so it's easier to handle and arrange over the leaves.

Cut the bright yellow 6x6 with the 2-¾" wide Rectangle Basics die.  Cut the yellow and gold Glimmering Gladiola 6x6 with the 2-½" wide Rectangle Basics die.

Attach the diecuts to a light yellow A6 card (4-½" x 6-¼") - use foam dots for the top, upper-right and center petals.

Attach a Thank You Foil Greetings Black Tab and gold Autumn Fairy Crystals.  Cut an A6-sized piece of cardstock to protect the card front for mailing.

The Glimmering Gladiola 6x6 set also includes soft pink and lavender versions of the beautiful floral print.  Our 6x6 cardstock collections make it easy to coordinate prints and colors.  Make a stash of cards - then just add a foil tab greeting strip or circle later when you need a quick thank you or birthday card.

Exquisite Butterflies Birthday Wishes by Jean Okimoto

Celebrate a spring or summer birthday with a trio of Exquisite Butterflies.  A slimline card - with lots of white space - balances the shimmery, shiny metallic 6x6 artpapers.  Hi, Jean here with a simple design for a special occasion.

Cut Exquisite Butterflies from a gold Rainbow Reflections Mirror Pad 6x6.  Cut a turquoise Rainbow Reflections 6x6 with the 2" wide  Wrapped Stitch Rectangle Layers die.  Assemble the butterflies and attach them to the rectangle - use foam tape for the upper wing sections.

Carefully remove the entire sheet of the turquoise and gold Anemone Grove 6x6 - including the top edge that's attached to the pad. Cut it with the 1-⅛" wide Slim Basic Rectangle Layers die.

Cut a turquoise 6x6 from the solid-core Lagoon Collection with the ⅝" wide Slim Basic Rectangle Layers die.

Attach the diecuts to a white slimline card (3-⅝" x 8-½").  Add turquoise Christmas Fairy Dewdrops.  Add special wishes with a Happy Birthday Foil Greetings White Circle Tab. Cut a slimline-sized piece of cardstock to protect the card front for mailing.

I've used a lot of the white and black foil greeting tabs recently.  These instant greetings complement any design and add subtle dimension to your cards.  If you already have a stash of completed birthday cards our Thank You Foil Greetings White Circle Tabs would work with this design too.

Hi everyone!  For today's card I did a spotlight technique using embossing folders.

I began by dry embossing a white cardstock panel using the Cheerful Floral 3D embossing folder.  Next, I used a blending brush and turquoise dye ink to lightly go across the raised embossed image.  I didn't mind that some of the ink went into the background.  I wanted a soft look to the background. I mounted the background to a black cardstock mat and used foam tape to adhere it to a white card base.

For the center spotlight image, I die cut a circle from Teal cardstock and placed it in the embossing folder and ran it through my die cutting machine.  I ran a white pigment ink pad over the embossed circle to highlight the embossing.  I used foam tape and glued it to the card matching the embossed flowers on the background.

I spattered the background with teal ink to add a little interest to it.

I stamped the word "hugs" in black ink, die cut it with the coordinating die and used foam tape to adhere it to the card.

The butterfly was die cut from white cardstock and inked with green and teal dye inks.  I glued this to the card just above the word "hugs".

To finish the card, I added some clear Fairy Drops to give it a little sparkle!

Budding Gladiola Birthday Card by Sara Cook

Hi everyone.  This card colors were inspired by paper in the Glimmering Gladiola paper pad.  The orange, pinks, and red are so pretty togetherI had to recreate it in the Gladiola flower die cuts.

Frame:

Trim the orange, pink and red Glimmering Gladiola paper to 4 1/3" x 6".  Use the largest Double Stitch Rectangle Cut Out to create the frame.  Adhere foam tape to the back side.

Flowers:

Die cut the Budding Gladiola Stem twice and Whimsical Gladiola once from heavy weight card stock.  Ink blend the flowers using Distress Oxide Ink in Dried Marigold, Worn Lipstick and Seedless Preserves to create the colors in the paper.  The Steams and leave are Old Paper and Rustic Wilderness.  Adhere the flower and leaves using the image on the envelopes.

Butterflies:

Die cut the Exquisite Butterflies from heavy white card stock and ink blend with Distress Oxide Dried Marigold and Rusty Hinge.  Use a black permanent nent marker along the outer edges of the butterflies then lightly ink blend with VersaFine Clair Nocturne. 

Assembly:

Trim white card stock to 6" by 9 1/2".  Score at 4 3/4" to create a card base.  Trim the dark red paper from the Blush paper pad to 4 3/4" x 6".  Adhere to the from of the card.  Adhere the frame.  Adhere the leaves and steams to the left side of the card.  Add the butterflies on top of the arrangement.  Adhere a Happy Birthday Foil Greeting Black Tab to the bottom right corner.  Add small drops of Sunlit Gold Glitter Glue to the flowers.

Here's another hybrid floral idea...Gladiola Floral Duo on a tall Daisy Blossom Stem.  It's just one of many combinations of blossoms, buds, stems and leaves from our floral collection of dies.  Hi, Jean here with a soft blue floral thank you card.

Cut Gladiola Floral Duo from the pale blue Vintage Pastel Mirror Pad 6x6.  Cut 2 stamen sets from the black Festive Glitter Pad 6x6.  Trim one section from one of the pieces.  Cut Daisy Blossom Stem from Black Glossy Paper.

 

Cut the Anemone Grove blue and gold circular print with the 2" wide Rectangle Basics Die.  Cut a pale blue 6x6 from the new Lagoon Collection with the 2-¼" wide Rectangle Basics die.

 

Attach the diecuts to a white A6 card (4-½" x 6-¼").  Add a Thank You Foil Greetings Black Circle Tab.  Add pale blue Christmas Fairy Dewdrops.  Cut an A6-sized piece of cardstock to protect the card front for mailing.

 

Create garden greetings with the Memory Box floral and foliage die collections.  Mix, match and layer the versatile designs and combine them with prints and plaids from an array of beautiful color-coordinated 6x6's.  Have a stash of floral cards ready for any occasion - just add a foil greeting tab and your card is ready to send or share!
