Lavishing Red Merry Christmas Swirl by Trina Pham

Hello everyone.  I have a quick and easy monochromatic Christmas card to share that is perfect for mass producing and/or when time is limited.

Cherry Red paper was spritz with water a couple of times on each sides before embossing with the Pinecones and Berries 3D embossing folder (EF).   Ink blended Lumberjack Plaid and Black Soot distress inks around the perimeter for a spotlight effect.  Used a black Polychromos pencil to add a bit of shading beneath the berries. 

The sentiment was die cut from Cranberry and white glitter papers.  Splattered the background with diluted white gouache paint for a snowy texture.  Adhered the panel onto a white card base then popped up the sentiment with foam adhesive to finish.

The color was inspired by our Lavishing Red challenge this month.  The challenge is open till December 30, 2024 so there is plenty of time to enter.  Thank you for joining me today.  Have a wonderful day.

Winter Geese Greetings by Jean Okimoto

New Happy Goose (on the left) and Bundled Up Goose send Christmas greetings!  The scattered tree background is from the new Nutmeg Forest 6x6 set of fall and winter prints.  Hi, Jean here with another layered felt design featuring our holiday collections.

Attach adhesive label paper to white, bright red and turquoise wool-blend felt.  The paper backing stabilizes the felt and keeps adhesives from saturating it.  Cut Bundled Up Goose and Happy Goose.  Cut the beak and feet sections from an orange 6x6 in the Sunrise Collection.  Color the eye areas with a black marker.  Attach the beak diecuts behind their heads.  

Cut the hats from the red and turquoise wool-blend felt.  Bundled Up Goose's hat has a pouf too - but it's just a simple pouf-less stocking cap here.

Cut Bundled Up Goose's wings from pale gray cardstock.  Ink it with a light layer of Morning Mist VersaFine Clair to highlight the details.

Cut the scarves from the Bundled Up Goose set from red and turquoise Rainbow Reflections Mirror Cardstock 6x6's.  Cut the turquoise 6x6 with the 1-¼" Circle Basics die.  Layer it behind a Merry Christmas Foil Greetings White Circle Tab for dimension and contrast.

Cut the Christmas tree print from the Nutmeg Forest 6x6 set with the 3-¼" x 4-½" Rectangle Basics die.

Attach the diecuts to a natural A6 card (4-½" x 6-¼") - use foam tape for the top of the hats and the ends of the scarves.  Cut an A6-sized piece of cardstock to protect the card front for mailing.

Mysterious, Leafy, Haunting and Magical by Jean Okimoto

The new Snowy Log - from our Winter Days Collection - becomes a leafy log with a fall print from the Nutmeg Forest 6x6 set.  Gold-specked Mysterious Mushrooms surround the popular Haunting Ghosts from the Fall Cornucopia Collection.  Hi, Jean here with a mix of dies from our fall and winter releases - taking advantage of how easy it is to mix design elements from Memory Box!

I didn't forget to adhere the sides of the background rectangle  - they're foam-taped for extra lift and shadows.  Really!

Cut Snowy Log from two shades of dark brown cardstock.  Match the woodgrain layer with the dark brown background of the Nutmeg Forest 6x6 leaf print - so the snowy layer resembles leaves falling on the log.

Cut Mysterious Mushrooms from the gold-specked Nutmeg Forest 6x6 and two shades of earthy reds from the Blush 6x6 set.  I cut the mushroom caps twice and chose diecuts with a good distribution of gold specks.

Cut Haunting Ghosts from watercolor paper.  Attach scraps of black cardstock behind the eye cutouts.

Stamp part of the greeting - from the new Magical Halloween Clear Stamp and Die Set - on orange cardstock from the Sunrise 6x6 set with Pinecone VersaFine Clair.  Quickly heat-emboss it with detail clear powder.  Trim the corners with a corner rounding punch.

Cut recycled Kraft cardstock with 2-½" x 7-½" Slim Basic Rectangle Layers die and trim the corners.

Attach the diecuts to a recycled Kraft slimline card (8-½" x 3-⅝").  Use foam tape for the rectangle's sides, the top of the ghosts and the 3 big mushroom caps.  Cut a slimline-sized piece of cardstock to protect the card front for mailing.

Halloween A-Frame House by Jean Okimoto

 

 

Let the new A Frame House star in a Halloween design – don’t save it for Christmas!  Hi, Jean here blending the Winter Days  and Fall Cornucopia Collections, 2 holidays and 3 friendly ghosts.

The A Frame House is the perfect setting for the friendly Haunting Ghosts and Intricate Mini Pumpkins.  The evergreen wreath becomes a garland of pumpkin lights.

Cut the A Frame House triangle pieces from recycled Kraft cardstock.  Brush or sponge the roof with Pinecone VersaFine Clair.

Snip the tiny section that connects the bottom right corner of the door to the triangle - to let the door swing open.  Crease the door on the score line.  

Cover the Kraft cardstock with Olympia Green VersaFine ink and quickly heat-emboss it with detail clear powder.  Cut the door overlay, wreath and chimney cap from the inked/embossed cardstock. Save the scraps - they'll be pumpkin stems.

Attach a strip of acetate (or transparency) between the inked door and the door overlay to so it resembles window glass.

Cut the chimney vertically from the diagonal green/rust plaid from the Nutmeg Plaid 6x6.  

Cut Haunting Ghosts from watercolor paper.  Attach black cardstock behind the eye cutouts.

Cut a bright orange 6x6 from the Sunrise Collection with the 2-½" wide Nested Globes die.  Cut the Nutmeg Plaid 6x6 with the 3" wide Nested Globes die.

Stamp the greeting - from the Magical Halloween Clear Stamp and Die Set - on a yellow/orange Sunrise 6x6 with Morning Mist VersaFine Clair.  Quickly heat-emboss it with detail clear powder.  Cut it with the matching die.  Ink the edges with Cheerful VersaFine Clair.

Cut the Intricate Mini Pumpkins (or use the extras from previous cards) with the bright orange andyellow/orange 6x6 sheets.  In the edges with Sunshine and Cheerful VersaFine Clair.  Trim strips of the green-inked cardstock for stems.

Attach the diecuts to a recycled Kraft A6 card (4-½" x 6-¼").  Attach orange Bright Jewels.  Cut an A6-sized piece of cardstock to protect the card front for mailing.

The A Frame House set is great for Thanksgiving cards - simply layered over a forest of fall leaves.  Add it to a background of Snowflake Rub Ons for simple holiday cards.  Use the top portion to cut contemporary Christmas trees too!

Pink Carving Pumpkin Halloween by Trina Pham

Hello everyone.  There’s a fabulous new Winter Days release, but I wanted to squeeze in another Halloween card.  October is not only Halloween month, but also Breast Cancer Awareness (BCA) month, so I combined the two for this fun pink Halloween card.

The Carving Pumpkin and Intricate Mini Pumpkins were die cut from white then ink blended with pink or grey dye inks using blending brushes.  Used a black marker to color on the background Carving Pumpkin piece behind the face openings.  The leaves and stem were colored with warm grey Copic Sketch markers W00/1/3/5.  The Eerie Spiders and Boiling Cauldron were die cut from black cardstock.  I would be remiss if there were no Halloween candies, so one black/white swirl candy from the Gingerbread House Frame die set was included. 😂

The Fringed Scallop Frame was die cut from and the sentiment was white heat embossed on the same colour pink cardstock.  The white panel is Bristol paper trimmed to slightly smaller than the scallop frame then splattered with diluted black gouache paint.  Assembled the card onto a white card base.  Added highlights to the eyes with a white Posca pen and drew the spiderweb strings with a black marker and ruler  to finish.

Eerie Spiders Attack The Mini Pumpkins by Anne Thompson

Here's another Halloween card.  This one features lots of EERIE SPIDERS 94846 and the INTRICATE MINI PUMPKINS 94845.

I started with a blank white top fold note card and added a 5 1/2" X 4" piece of green plaid paper from YULETIDE PLAID PP1031.  I cut a piece of brown card stock 4" wide and tore the top edge and added it to the plaid background to act as a field for pumpkins.

Next I die cut the INTRICATE MINI PUMPKINS 94845 from ORANGE PEEL CARD STOCK SH44017.  I stuck them onto a strip of glue dots and set them aside.

Then I die cut the EERIE SPIDERS 94846 three times from BLACK GLOSSY PAPER SH44004.  I stuck those onto a strip of glue dots and set them aside.

I arranged the Intricate Mini Pumpkins on the brown field, placing the smallest ones toward the top edge and the larger ones in the foreground.  Next I placed the tiniest spiders on and around those pumpkins.  I put four of the larger spiders against the green "sky" and used a ruler and a pen to draw their silken threads from the top edge.  

At this point I stamped the sentiment "Halloween Greetings" from MAGICAL HALLOWEEN CLEAR STAMPS SET CL5284 on a scrap of the Orange Peel card stock using VersaFine Clair Nocturne (black) Ink.  I fussy-cut it with detail scissors.

To finish the card, I glued the sentiment to a scrap of the Black Glossy paper and cut around it.  I also added two more large spiders on dimensional foam  to the note card.  I placed the sentiment in the lower right of the field using dimensional foam dots.

I'm pretty sure that spiders don't know how to carve pumpkins.  But I did see the funniest video on Facebook this week of chickens carving pumpkins.  Who knew!  Hope your Halloween includes pumpkins but maybe not giant (or even tiny) spiders!

Pumpkin-Carving Time by Jean Okimoto

2024's Carving Pumpkin shares a card and some details with a buddy from a previous release.  They're carved and ready for October 31st.  Hi, Jean here with a Halloween design for weekend crafting.

Stamp the leafy design of the new Leaves and Berries Cling Stamp Set on recycled Kraft Cardstock with Pinecone VersaFine Clair.     Quickly heat-emboss it with detail clear powder.  Cut it with the 4" wide Nested Globes die.  Ink the edges with Pinecone.

Stamp the greeting - from the new Magical Halloween Clear Stamp and Die Set - on a yellow/orange 6x6 from the Sunrise Collection with Pinecone.  Quickly heat-emboss it with detail clear powder.  Cut it with the 1-½"wide Nested Globes die, trim the bottom edge.  Ink the edges with Pinecone.

Diecut the new Carving Pumpkin from a dark bright orange Sunset Collection 6x6.  Cut the leaves, tendril and stem from a yellow/green Greenery Collection 6x6.  Diecut Autumn Pumpkin fron a bright orange Sunset Collection 6x6.  Cut the stem and leaves from the yellow/green Greenery 6x6.  Ink the stems with Summertime VersaFine Clair to create lighter brown stems.

Cut the Carving Pumpkin background die from the black Glitzy Glitter Pad 6x6.  Cut the facial features for the Autumn Pumpkin with the Carving Pumpkin die - from the reverse (white) side of the black Glitzy sheet for a  slightly different smile for the Autumn Pumpkin.

Cut Autumn Pumpkin again from the black Glitzy 6x6. Cut the glittered pumpkin horizontally about ½" below the top.  Attach the top and bottom pieces slightly above and below the orange pumpkin for dimension and to match Carving Pumpkin.

Assemble the pumpkins and attach everything to a recycled Kraft A6 card (4-½" x 6-¼") - use foam tape for the Carving Pumpkin.  Add green Christmas Fairy Crystals.  Cut an A6-sized piece of cardstock to protect the card front for mailing.

Boo to You Card by Donna Sledzik

Good morning everyone!  Today I have another Halloween card for you featuring some new Fall products.

I began by ink blending a white cardstock panel using Distress inks, and embossing it with the new Spiral Delight 3D embossing folder.  I lightly rubbed across the embossed panel with a black ink pad.  Next I spattered the background with plain water and orange paint.  When this was dry I adhered the background to a white card base.

I die cut a piece of white cardstock with the Vintage Tray Frame die and used 3 of the cutouts from the frame.

I masked around the outside edge of the blocks with Gina K's Masking Magic 1/8" strips.  

I used the same color Distress Inks that I used for the background to fill in the blocks.  Before I removed the masking strips I spattered the backgrounds with white ink.

Colors used: Carved Pumpkin, Twisted Citron, Mowed Lawn, Wilted Violet, Gathered Twigs and Black Soot (these colors were also used for the die cut images).

All the images were die cut from white cardstock and colored with Distress Inks.

I glued the orange block to the card and adhered the ghosts to the block.  I did the same with the spider block.  I used foam tape to adhere the pumpkin block to the card.

The words "Boo to You" were die cut from orange cardstock and glued to a black cardstock shadow die cut.  I used foam tape to adhere it to the card.

Custom Backgrounds for Haunting Ghosts by Jean Okimoto

The Haunting Ghosts are back again - posing as little witches for today's card.  Hi, Jean here with a die that won't quit!  The ghosts needed a spooky, abstract background and found three perfect shapes.

Cut three shades of orange cardstock from the Sunrise 6x6 paper pack with the 3 greeting background dies from the new Magical Halloween Clear Stamp and Die Set.  Cut them again from black cardstock.  Shade the orange diecut edges with Morning Mist VersaFine Clair.  It's great for stenciling and shading - and it dries quickly.  Assemble the background blocks, slightly offset for dimension. 

Cut Haunting Ghosts from watercolor paper.  Attach scraps of black glittered cardstock from the 6x6 Glitzy Glitter Pad behind the eye cutouts.

Cut the cauldron - from the new Cauldron Witch set - from Black Glossy Paper.  Cut the bubbles from the chartreuse Graceful Garden Glitte Pad 6x6.  Cut the boiling goo from the chartreuse Rainbow Reflections 6x6.

Cut three witch hats from the Cauldron Witch set from black cardstock.  The top right ghost's hat is reversed just so everything isn't too matchy.  Run that diecut through your machine to smooth the cut edges.  Cut three hatbands from the dark turquoise Glitzy Glitter Pad 6x6.  Assemble the hat.

Stamp the greeting - from the Magical Halloween Clear Stamp and Die Set - on another orange 6x6 from the Sunrise Collection with Warm Breeze VersaFine Clair.   Quickly emboss it with detail clear powder.

Cut the dark blue print - from the Yuletide Cheer 6x6 set - with the 2-½" wide Fringed Scalloped Frame Set die.  

Attach the diecuts and greeting to a top-folded light recycled Kraft A2 card - use foam tape near the top of the ghosts' heads and their hats.  Cut an A2-sized piece of cardstock to protect the cardfront for mailing.

Haunting Ghosts Through a Window by Trina Pham

Hello everyone.  I have a spooky cute 👻 Halloween card to share today featuring these Haunting Ghosts from the 2024 Fall Cornucopia release. 

 

Stretched the Vintage Tray die and partial die cut it twice from white cardstock, then stacked them to create the window frame.  The ghosts were also die cut from white cardstock and their eyes backed with Black Glossy paper.  Depending on how the light hits them, the eyes “twinkle”… a pretty cool effect IRL (in real life).

For the background, a moon mask was die cut from masking paper using a Circle Basics die.  A Bristol panel was trimmed to the frame size next.  Adhered the moon mask off the top edge of the panel then ink blended gradient colors of teal dye inks using blending brushes.  Splattered with water and blot with a paper towel for some texture.  Used Copic Sketch markers to add shading to the moon (C0/1/2) and ghosts (BG10/11, 0).  White heat embossed the sentiment on a black panel then assembled onto a white card base to finish.
