Christmas Paper Quilt Card
by Sara Cook

Hi everyone.  I have a card design today using he Poinsettia Garland pattern paper in an easy and forgiving quilt pattern.

Paper Selection:

Chose 2 light papers and 2 darker papers, having 1 with glitter and one with a simple pattern from the Poinsettia Garland paper paid.  This will help with visual interest.  Next pick either a matching glitter or mirror card.  I chose a gold glitter paper from the Festive Glitter Pad to add a lot of bling so my card will stand out.  Cut the pattern paper into 4, 6" x 1/2" strips and the glitter paper into 5, 1/4" x 6" strips.

Card Base:

Take an A2 size light card base, any color, and draw a line down the middle in both directions.  Cut a light weight paper to 2" square. Adhere in the center like a diamond, lining up the corners of the square with the lines on the card base.  This ensures the square is center.

Paper Pattern:

Start with 1 pcs of the pattern paper by applying adhesive to the back, recommending to use tape or a collage medium.  If using liquid adhesive use one with very little water like Kraft Tacky glue or collage medium.  Place your first piece to line up with the end of the center and along the side.  For the next piece line it up along the center pcs with one end at the first paper. Continue to go around the card lining up the paper.  Alter between either the 2 dark papers or 2 gold fold paper for a better visual effect at the end.  Trim off excess as you go and use the smaller strips to fill in. If the paper doesn't line up completely don't worry the strips of glitter paper help hide that.  Now glue the strips of glitter paper over the seams of the paper in the same pattern.  Trimming off the excess to use for the smaller sections.

Center Square:

Die cut the 3 smaller dies from the Small Poinsettia Layers from white card stock.  Ink blend with Distress Ketch Flamingo and in the center with Lumberjack Plaid.  Die cut the center from the same glitter paper.  Adhere together.  Die cut the outline die from Brilliant Joy from mirror gold paper from the Rainbow Reflections pad.  Save the letters.  Cut one of the plan lighter pattern paper to 2" square and ink blend around the Distress Ground Espresso.  Cut the glitter paper to 2 1/4" square.  Adhere together with liquid glue.

Adhere the card base on a A2 size card.  Adhere the center square to the center.  Adhere the JOY die cut to the center and then adhere the poinsettia to the center of the O.
