Send frosty winter wishes with the new Aurora Snowflake Frame and the matching Aurora Snowflake dies.  Texture and sparkly glittered diecuts create a card that works in winter pastels, jewel tones or classic holiday colors.  Hi, Jean here with a detailed - but simple - design that includes pressure embossing with a frame die.

Cut heavy white cardstock with the second-largest A2 Rectangle Frames die.  Spritz both sides with a light mist of water and pressure-emboss it with Aurora Snowflake Frame using the rubber embossing mat and plate(s) required for your machine.

Cut heavy white cardstock with the 1.75" x 3"A2 Rectangle Frames die.

Cut the solid Aurora Snowflake background from the pale pinkish-white Delicate Pastel Glitter Pad 6x6.  Cut the detailed snowflake layer from pink cardstock.

Cut the solid Brilliant Joy background from the same pink cardstock.  Cut the detailed top layer from the same Delicate Pastel 6x6.  Save the bonus glittered JOY offcut for another project. Using the same colors - in reversed layers - keeps it coordinated but not too match-y.

Attach the diecuts to a white A6 card (6-¼" x 4-½").  Attach pale pink Pastel Jewels for extra sparkle.

Hope you're enjoying the holiday designs from our team as much as we enjoy sharing our ideas with you!

Thanks for visiting the blog...have a great weekend!

Best Wishes
by Donna Sledzik

IMG_6552

Hello everyone!  Today's card is inspired by all the beautiful autumn colors!

To make this card card, I started by die cutting the new Gypsy Oak Leaves several times from colored cardstock.  I glued all the outline leaf shapes to the solid leaf die cuts.

I used the one of the Wrapped Stitched Rectangles to die cut a card panel from the White Woodgrain cardstock.

Next, I glued my die cut leaves to the panel and spattered it with gold ink.

I used foam tape to adhere the panel to a white card base.

I stamped the sentiment onto a strip of white cardstock and gold heat embossed it.  I inked  the edges of the sentiment strip with gold ink and used foam tape to adhere it to the card.

That's it for today!  Thank you for stopping by and enjoy the rest of the week!

Birch Tree Forest Cardinal
by Trina Pham

IMG_3101

Hello everyone.  Keeping the bird theme going, I have a vintage brown and red Christmas card to share today featuring the Layered Cardinal die and Birch Tree Forest embossing folder (EF) from the current 2023 Christmas release

The Layered Cardinal, Classic Pine Needle Sprigs and pine cones were all die cut from white paper then ink blended with distress inks (DI) using blending brushes:

reds - Abandoned Coral, Lumberjack Plaid
brown - Gathered Twigs
black - Black Soot
yellow - Fossilized Amber

IMG_3102

The background was created by “stamping” with the EF.  Inked the flat side of the EF with Brushed Corduroy and Gathered Twigs DI, spritz with water then pressed onto watercolor paper.  Just like you would for the stencil monoprint technique, except with an EF… so EF monoprint! 🤗

IMG_3100

Left the panel to air dry then trimmed down to A2 size before black heat embossing the sentiment from Shining Star with clear glitter embossing powder directly on the panel for a bit of sparkle.  Assembled the card onto a white card base to finish.

IMG_3103
That does it for my card.  Thank you for joining me today.  Have a wonderful day.

Greet everyone - and treat the kid-sized tricksters - with the new Winter Tree Arch.  It's fun, a little wonky and slightly spooky.  Hi - Jean here, double-dipping with this versatile new die from our Christmas 2023 Collection.  Whittle Scary Guys - from Poppystamps - complete the Halloween scene.

Prep Winter Tree Arch for easy removal by rubbing it briskly with scrunched waxed paper.  Cut it from black and light kraft cardstock.

Trim about  1/16" from the sides of the base of the black diecut. Attach it to a gray 3" wide Nested Globes diecut - keep the far left tree trunk and the open center area free of adhesive to add the Poppystamps pumpkin and Rickety House.

Cut Rickety House from light kraft cardstock.  Add a scrap of the light yellow Graceful Garden Glitter Pad 6x6 behind the door and windows.

Cut the Boo Posh Script background from olive cardstock.  Pressure emboss it with the detailed top layer.  Cut the top layer from dark orange cardstock.  Pressure-embossing the base layer makes it very easy attach the top layer - it just settles right in!  Attach it to a top-folded black A2 card.

Cut 2 moons from the silver Glitzy Glitter Pad 6x6 with the ¾" Circle Basics die.

Cut 2 pumpkins from bright orange cardstock with the Poppystamps Whittle Scary Guys die. Cut the dinosaur and the other guy from green cardstock. Cut a ghost from white cardstock.  Attach black cardstock scraps behind the ghost and pumpkins.

Fold an 8-½" x 3" strip of black cardstock in half crosswise.  Place the bottom cutting edge of the 3" wide Nested Globes die just below the fold and diecut the folded cardstock to create a simple treat wrapper.  Punch a hole at the top.

Attach the kraft Winter Tree Arch - keep some spots free of adhesive to add the ghost, moon and pumpkin.  Attach the diecuts.  Attach a Ghiradelli Square inside the wrapper with doublestick tape.  Tie it with orange cord.

Have fun with these designs...Halloween means it's OK to take mix-and-match to an extreme!  Thanks for visiting!

Pretty in Pink Merry Christmas
by Anne Thompson

As a two-time survivor of breast cancer I was inspired by Trina's post yesterday to work up a pretty in pink card also in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

IMG-2244 (1)

to make this card

  • cover the front of a white note card with one of the pretty pink poinsettia papers from the POINSETTIA GARLAND PP1024 6X6 paper pad

IMG-2238 (1)-ink

IMG-2236 (1)-ink

  • use a fingertip dauber and pink ink to lightly add pink to the raised image and around the edges of the embossed panel

IMG-2239 (1)-ink

IMG-2237 (1)-ink

  • add the large poinsettia to the center of the embossed panel using dimensional foam tape and then adhere that panel to the front of the note card
  • add one of the AUTUMN FAIRY CRYSTALS CRY101 to the poinsettia center

IMG-2241 (1)-ink

  • to finish the card select one of the extra thick gold foiled WHITE TABS ST1001 that says "MERRY CHRISTMAS" and add it (I used Scor-Tape on the back) near the stem base

IMG-2243 (1)-ink

And that's it!

IMG-2244 (1)-ink

I like this particular embossing folder because of the open space in the center for adding any number of holiday elements--rub ons, die cuts, stamped images--from the Memory Box 2023 Christmas Collection.  And I love that both of the embossing folders--Poinsettia Corner and Perfect Poinsettias come with coordinating dies.  I'm just getting started with holiday cards and I have so many more to make.  I think I'll be making multiples of this design.

Happy Crafting!

(Think I may need to update my photo since I've added streaks of mermaid teal to all the white this week...and my hair is now quite a bit longer...)

Pink Christmas Hummingbird House
by Trina Pham

IMG_3067

Hello everyone.  October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, and in support, I created a monochromatic pink Christmas card using several new products from the current 2023 Christmas release.

The Woodgrain Bird House, Layered Hummingbird and Classic Pine Needle Sprigs were all die cut out from white paper.  Colored them with Picked Raspberry and Black Soot distress inks (DI) using various blending brushes.  The snowy layer on the roof was die cut a second time from pink Delicate Pastel glitter paper for some sparkle.

IMG_3068

After seeing a post recently on a crafty friend’s blog, the Torn Paper Mask technique was used to create the cloud background.  This was done by ink blending Spun Sugar DI over the edges of torn printer paper… so no need for a cloud edge stencil! 🤗

IMG_3070

The cloud background was then die cut down with the third largest A2 Rectangle Frames die.  Assembled the card onto an A2 size white woodgrain panel and added falling snow with a white gel pen (even on the die cut pieces because snow doesn’t avoid them). 😉  A Merry Christmas Foil Greetings Black Tab finished it off.

IMG_3069

A quick note…  I will be linking this card to the Pink Christmas challenge at Jingle Belles where $4 per card entered will be donated to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Fun creating a pink (or predominantly pink) Christmas card while helping fundraise for the Cure?… it’s a win-win!  That does it from me.  Thank you for joining me today.  Have a wonderful weekend.

Vintage Tray Background Blocks by Jean Okimoto

Diecut a trio of new 6x6 prints and create a collage-y winter background for a favorite Layered Polar Bear.  He's borrowing a cozy scarf from the new Bundled Bird.  Tag a special gift with the new Merry Christmas Foil Greetings White Tabs.  Hi, Jean here with an easy way to build a background for the holidays, or any day.

Cut the poinsettia and snowflake prints from the new Poinsettia Garland 6x6 Pack with the artsy die from the Vintage Tray 3D Embossing Folder and Die Set.  Cut a matching plaid from the Poinsettia Plaid 6x6 Pack.  You'll have a total of 15 great mix-and-match blocks!

Trim the Rainbow Reflections turquoise 6x6 to fit in the Vintage Tray Embossing Folder.  Emboss the design, then cut it with the coordinating die.  That's 5 more great blocks - these are shimmery and have woodgrain texture.

Cut two of the loopy Crisp Bows from the pale gold Majestic Hues Glitter Pad 6x6 and layer them for dimension.   Attach them to an embossed Vintage Tray diecut - tape the lower edge behind the "giftbox."  Attach a crisp MERRY CHRISTMAS gold-foiled greeting tab - like a big gift tag.

Cut Layered Polar Bear from heavy white cardstock.  Assemble the layers - place black and brown scraps behind the cutouts for his eyes, nose and ears.

Cut the scarf layers - from the new Bundled Bird set - from the turquoise Rainbow Reflections sheet.

Attach the diecuts to a top-folded 5-½" square white card.  Use foam tape for the bear and foiled greeting tab.  Add turquoise Christmas Fairy Dewdrops.  Cut a 5-½" square of cardstock to protect the card front for mailing.  Square cards require special handling and extra postage - I hope you think this design deserves that!

It's great being able to combine favorites from earlier releases with our Christmas 2023 Collection.   Layered Polar Bear and the Vintage Tray 3D Embossing Folder and Die Set are perfect partners.  The Vintage Tray cuts perfectly proportioned blocks - eliminating guessing, thinking and measuring.  That's a good thing!

Thanks for visiting...have a great weekend!

Snowflake Card
by Donna Sledzik

IMG_6505

Hello everyone!  Today I have a quick and easy Christmas card for you using new products from the 2023 Christmas release.

IMG_6508

I began by ink blending Distress Oxide Inks onto a white cardstock panel to create a background for my card.

IMG_6503

I placed my background into a Misti Stamping tool, misted the snowflake stamp with plain water and stamped the image.  Because I used a water soluble ink for the background, the water on the stamp removed some of the ink.  I repeated this process twice to remove a little more ink.  I love the soft look this gives the background.

IMG_6504

Once the panel was dry, I spattered it with white ink and glued it to a white card base.

Next, I die cut the shadow of the Aurora Snowflake from vellum and the snowflake from white cardstock, then glued the white snowflake on top of the vellum shadow snowflake.

I used foam tape to adhere the snowflake to the card and glued the sentiment strip across the center of the snowflake.  I love the new sentiment strips!

IMG_6506 (1)

To finish the card I glued some Fairy Drops to the snowflake.

Thanks it for today!  Have a great weekend!

Merry Christmas with 3D Embossing
by Angie Cimbalo

Hello and welcome, it's Angie here today with a 3D embossed Christmas card in pinks and greens.

For my card I used the new "Poinsettia Plaid" paper pack, the "A2 Rectangle Frames Die" set, a new "Foil Greeting White Tab," plus the new "3D Perfect Poinsettias embossing folder with dies".
Here's a closer look:

This embossing folder also coordinates with the newly released "Poinsettia Rub-Ons" if you don't have time to color the images. Today I chose to use ink blending tools, mostly small pencils to color the larger embossed images, and watercoloring with Zigs on the smaller die cut flowers.

I cut and embossed 2 of the individual poinsettia with the coordinating dies from the embossing folder set and watercolored them first. Then after they dried, I put them back in the folder to re-emboss for a deep impression. I trimmed down the main panel which was embossed on watercolor card to 3.75" X 5". For the main panel I used my finger daubers and blending stick pencils with green, brown and pink inks.

Using the A2 Rectangle frame dies I cut 4 extra from the 2nd largest in the set to put behind my watercolored panel for dimension, then I used the largest to cut the plaid frame from the new Poinsettia Plaid paper pack. Once I had put them together, and adhered the plaid panel to my card base, I added the top 2 individual watercolored poinsettia die cuts to the top of the ones on the main panel for dimension. Lastly I added some gold jewels from the Christmas Jewels pack.

Here's one last look:

I hope you like my card for today! I had a lot of fun creating it. Be sure to come back each day for more inspiration from the design team.
