Greetings friends. I hope everyone has had a wonderful weekend. Today I wanted to share a card I had in my mind that stepped away from traditional Christmas colors.
To make the card, I started with white cardstock and then sponged it with different shades of PanPastel chalks:
Once I had the colors blended as I wished, I stamped the whole thing with the newest snowflake background stamp using Versamark ink. I am including a photo, but Versamark is clear, and you can only faintly see the snowflakes stamped on top of the chalk:
Next, I sponged the exact same PanPastel chalks on top of the inks to make the snowflakes show up darker than the background. The beauty of this technique is that you don't need to be gentle. You can press the chalk firmly on top of the snowflakes and the ink doesn't smudge.
To finish the card, I cut out my snowflake and added a green gem to the center and a Merry Christmas sentiment to the top:
What about you? What non-traditional colors have you used for your holiday cards?
Thanks for stopping by today!
