Joy Card
by Donna Sledzik

Hello everyone!  Today's card features more new products from the 2023 Christmas release.

I love the Vintage Tray Die and Embossing Folder set.  There's so many ways you could use this die and today I chose to fill the openings with different die cuts.  The good thing with this new release is that there are so many choices.

I began by embossing 2 pieces of white cardstock with the 3D embossing folder from the Vintage Tray Set.  Next, I die cut the frame from one of the embossed pieces and inked all the pieces with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.  I adhered the pieces onto the other embossed piece of cardstock to create the background for my card.

I die cut the frame die 4 times from black cardstock, stacked and glued them together for some dimension.  I glued the frame onto the prepared background.

All the die cut elements were cut from colored cardstock and inked with Distress Inks.  The Chickadee body was die cut from white cardstock and inked with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.  The other parts of the chickadee were cut from colored cardstock and glued in place.

I glued all the die cuts in place in the frame openings.

I stamped the sentiment in black ink on a strip of white cardstock.  I lightly inked the edges with Vintage Photo Ink and glued it under the word "Joy".

To finish the card I added some red fairy crystals for berries on the pine branches.

That's it for today's card!  Thanks for stopping by.

What “sandwich” did you use for the Vintage Tray embossing folder and the die? Everything I’ve tried seems too thick or too thin for my Big Shot.
