Happy Haunting Card
by Donna Sledzik

IMG_6269

Good morning everyone!  Today I have another Halloween card featuring new products from the 2023 Fall Release.

I started but creating the ink blended the background panel using Distress Inks in Lost Shadow and Hickory Smoke.  I spattered the background with plain water and dried it with the heat tool, then spattered it with white ink.

The moon was die cut from white cardstock, then inked with Mustard Seed and Vintage Photo Distress Inks.  I spattered the moon with plain water to give it a little texture.

I die cut the "Ghosts in the Forest" from white cardstock and stamped the greeting on the bottom portion of the panel.

The moon was glued to the gray background panel and the white die cut was adhered on top of the background.

IMG_6270

The witch was die cut from black cardstock and I used foam tape to adhere it to the card.

I used foam tape to adhere the card front to a white card base.

That's it for today!  Thanks for stopping by.

Boiling Cauldron Cards
by Angie Cimbalo

Boo circle close

Hello and welcome, it's Angie here today with two card featuring the new "Boiling Cauldron" die set.  For my first card I used the "Magnolia Grove" paper pad to cut a white/gold swirl pattern circle die and matted it on larger black die.  Next I cut the caldron dies from the "Rainbow Reflections Mirror Pad" and layered it on top of the circles, then added some jewels for sparkle and interest.  The sentiment is the "Boo Posh Script" die layered in black and mirror card stock.  Here's a closer look:

Boo circle close

I love how the die has a dripping look to the boiling liquid!  Here's one last look:

Boo circle close

Next I used all the same supplies except I cut the drippy part from paper I got from the "Magnolia Grove" paper pad.

Boo stripes close

After putting the cauldron together and the word die, I added white gel pen accents and put them on the card front.  I cut shin strips of purple and gold mirror card stock and added them randomly in the corners and then added some jewels for shine and interest.  Here's another look:

Boo stripes close

I like the way this turned out, with the added strips.  I think it adds a bit of whimsy to the card.  Here's one last look:

I hope you like my cards for today.  Be sure to come back each day for more inspiration from the design team!

Thanks for stopping by!

Pumpkin Trick or Treaters
by Trina Pham

IMG_2350

Hello everyone.  I have a fun Halloween card to share today.  I decided to dress up the Autumn Pumpkin from the current 2023 Fall release.  As you can see, they cover the classic mummy, Frankenstein (Frankie) and vampire.

Started by die cutting the Autumn Pumpkin from white, green and purple cardstockk, thennk blended Lost Shadow, Shabby Shutters and Shaded Lilac distress ink (DI) around the respective edges for shading.  Cut the upper part of the pumpkin from black cardstock and black glitter paper to die cut Frankie’s hair and vampire’s head, respectively.  Used the Circle Basics and Boiling Cauldron dies for Frankie’s hair and eyes (pictured below).  Frankie’s stitches were made with a thin trimmed  black cardstock strip.

IMG_2347

The Double Stitched Heart and Boiling Cauldron dies were used for the vampire’s head and mouth (pictured below).  Partial diecutting was done to shorten the mouth.  The star die was used for fangs.  Red googley eyes were used here to mix things up. 😉

IMG_2349

The mummy was pretty simple.  The eyes (minus eyelids) were done the same way as Frankie.  Tore strips of copy paper to mummify/wrap it then trimmed off excess.

IMG_2351

For the background, masked off the moon then ink blended Spiced  Marmalade, Rusty Hinge and Black Soot DI.  Splattered with diluted black gouache paint.  Removed the mask then applied residual ink to the moon and stamped the sentiment in black.  Assembled the card onto a white card base to finish.

That wraps it up for my card.  Thank you for joining me today.

Happy Halloween Layered Witch Hat By Theary Chea

Hello, and welcome to the Memory Box Co. blog. My name is Theary, and I am jumping in with a card ready for the Fall season.

MemoryBox_LargeLayeredWitchHat1

The Large Layered Witch Hat is so perfect! I love the look of the hat, so I wanted to create a card with the hat as the star!

I started by die-cutting the Large Layered Witch Hat out of white cardstock. I then used my blending brushes and inked blend the individual pieces. I also die-cut one of the Large Layered Witch Hat pieces out of pattern paper. I used the pattern paper pad from the Magnolia Collection called Magnolia Plaid 6x6 pack.

MemoryBox_LargeLayeredWitchHat2

For the background, I used Curved Cap Pinpoint layers and cut that out from a sheet of Cream Woodgrain Paper Pack; I inked and blended the edges of the Curved Cap Pinpoint Layering with brown ink.

MemoryBox_LargeLayeredWitchHat1

The sentiment is from the Happy Halloween Posh Script die that I cut out of vellum and Black Glossy Paper.

I matted everything against the same pattern paper I used from the Magnolia Plaid 6x6 pack.

MemoryBox_LargeLayeredWitchHat2

That's it for the card! I hope you found some inspiration and get crafty in your craft space. Until next time!

I hope you have a wonderful day,
Theary Chea

Another Pumpkin Patch
by Anne Thompson

Here's another pumpkin patch with a different background and printed paper pumpkins.

0-2 (1)-ink

to make this card

  • start with a white note card and orient it so it folds at the top
  • cover the front with an orange card stock--I used a piece from the SUNNY ORANGE COLLECTION SP1002
  • die cut the CURLICUE PLATE 94698 from black mirror paper from the RAINBOW REFLECTIONS MIRROR PAD PP1003

0-4 (1)-ink

  • attach the Curlicue Plate piece to the front of the note card using a glue pen around the outside edges
  • die cut three pumpkins from various orange prints--I used ones from an older GARDEN FOLLY PP1005 paper pack but there are other prints in MADRAS PLAID CORAL AND GREEN PP1013 that would be great, too.

0-3 (1)-ink

  • assemble the pumpkins with their stems and leaves, mixing up the prints
  • attach the pumpkins to the note card using dimensional foam of varying thicknesses

0-1 (1)-ink

That's it!  Another card you could use for any occasion this fall.  I'm loving these pumpkins.  And there are so many great Memory Box background plates or frames to create the garden-y vines.

Happy Crafting!

Dimensional Stenciling with Memory Box Dies by Jean Okimoto

Embossing and stenciling are great basic papercrafting techniques. Combine them to add texture and dimension to highlight your design.  Hi, Jean here with another idea featuring the bold Fanciful Gilded Frame from our Fall '23 Collection.  The hat-wearing cat is from Poppystamps.

Spritz both sides of an A2-sized rectangle of orange cardstock with a light mist of water. Place a layer of heavy plastic between the Fanciful Gilded Frame die and the cardstock to  cushion and protect the cardstock.  A single layer of plastic from a quart- or gallon-sized Ziploc back or page protector sleeve would be great.  Pressure-emboss the design using the rubber embossing mat and plates required for your machine.

Remove the plastic layer, then replace and attach the die to the embossed cardstock. Use the die as a stencil to apply Onyx Black or Nocturne VersaFine Clair with a sponge or blending brush.  Heat-set the ink.

Diecut the embossed design with the 4" wide Nested Globes die.  Cut the orange cardstock with the 2" wide Nested Globes die too.

Cut the ghosts - from the Ghosts in the Forest set - from the textured side of Open Studio Watercolor Paper.  Attach scraps of black cardstock behind the faces.

Cut Large Layered Witch Hat from the black Glitzy Glitter Pad sheet.  Cut the hat's vertical trim from the black Rainbow Reflections sheet.  Cut the hatband fron the chartreuse Rainbow Reflections sheet.

Glue two layers of black cardstock together for dimension and cut the new Poppystamps Whittle Purring Cat.  Attach a scrap of the orange Glitzy Glitter Pad sheet behind the nose.

Attach the diecuts to a top-folded A6 card (4-½" x 6") cut from a 12" square sheet.  Or use a side-folded A6 card cut from an 8-½"x11" sheet.  Add taupe Autumn Fairy Crystals.  Cut an A6-sized piece of cardstock to protect the card front for mailing.

Hope you'll try this embossing+stenciling technique to add extra dimension and details to your cards.

Thanks for visiting...have a great weekend!

Hello Card
by Donna Sledzik

IMG_6201

Hello everyone! Today I have a Fall themed card for you featuring new products from the new 2023 Fall Release.

I used the "Autumn Pumpkin" as a vase for my fall foliage arrangement.  The pumpkin was die cut from orange cardstock and the foliage from green, yellow and orange cardstock.  They were all inked with coordinating Distress Inks.

IMG_6200

The background panel was dry embossed using the new "Fanciful Glided Frame" on aqua cardstock.  I inked the edges with Peacock Feathers and Chipped Sapphire Distress Inks, and  adhered the panel to an Ivory cardstock card base.

IMG_6199

Next, I used foam tape on the bottom portion of the pumpkin and adhered it to the background panel.  I tucked in all the foliage pieces and glued them in place.

I spattered the background with gold ink.

The word "Hello" was gold foiled, die cut, and glued to the pumpkin.

IMG_6202

To finish the card, I adhered some Autumn Fairy Crystals to add a little shine.

That's it for today!  Thanks for stopping by!

The Pumpkin Patch
by Anne Thompson

Here's a card you can use any time this fall.  This Pumpkin Patch features the Autumn Pumpkin 94690 multiple times and the Fanciful Gilded Frame 94660 which looks to me like a vine-y garden space.

IMG-2039 (1)-ink

To make this card, start with a white note card.

Add a light green plaid paper from the MAGNOLIA PLAID PP1021 6X6 paper pad cut to fit the front of the note card.

Die cut the FANCIFUL GILDED FRAME 94660 from a dark green card stock.

Add this frame to the front of the card using a glue pen.

IMG-2032 (1)-ink

Die cut the AUTUMN PUMPKIN 94690 three times from an orange paper and three times from a bight green paper, both in the RAINBOW REFLECTIONS MIRROR PAD PP1003.

Assemble the pumpkins, using the green stems and leaves with the orange pumpkins.

IMG-2035 (1)-ink

Reorient the card so it folds at the top.

Add the three pumpkins using dimensional foam of varying thicknesses, so the one on the left is the flattest and the center one pops up more than the others.  Add any extra green leaves among the vines.

IMG-2040 (1)-ink

This cute card would be perfect for any fall occasion with an appropriate sentiment tucked inside.  Love these newest products from Memory Box!  Think about how you might combine the new with other Memory Box stamps, dies, stencils, and embossing folders you already have or ones that are still available to purchase from previous collections.  Try other color combinations and textures--glossy mirror paper, glitter paper, card stock, and printed papers from Memory Box.  And there are idea books on the website for even more inspiration.

Happy Crafting!
