Hello everyone. This was a birthday card I made for a crafty friend whose birthday was last Sunday. I used the Gracious Floral stamp with the focus on the coordinating layering stencil set from the Gracious Floral collection. As Laura mentioned in a previous post, there is a guide to help with coloring the floral image using these stencils, but unfortunately, I lost/misplaced mine. Luckily, it was easy enough to figure out.
The image was stamped with Fadeout ink onto white cardstock because I wanted a no-line coloring look. A light neutral dye ink, such as Antique Linen distress ink, could be used instead. Gradient colors of dye inks in purple, yellow and green were then applied with blending brushes through the stencils. After the stencilling was complete, Polychromos pencils were then used to shade and/or color it further to give it more/better definition and dimension. I did take creative licence, skipping the top stencil layer on the large leaves, so I can add in my own details. 😉
The image was die cut out next using the coordinating die, then cut apart to “stretch” diagonally across the card front. Heat embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder onto a scrap of black cardstock before die cutting it out with a Poppy Stamps Basic Oval die. Assembled the card onto a white card base, then added clear shimmer on the flowers and some clear jewels for a bit of sparkle to finish.
That does it for my card. Thank you for joining me today. Have a wonderful weekend.

Beautiful stenciled floral spray, Trina - just love it atop the leafy embossing too!

Fabulous! Love how you stretched the stencils/dies to fill the card! Your colouring is amazing and love the white embossing on the base, too!
