Happy 4th of July to everyone celebrating today!
Here's a double-dipping card - with an extra step added to each process - adding more texture and dimension to classic design elements. Hi, Jean here with 4 techniques to add to a basic design.
Diecut the blossom - from the Gracious Floral 3D Embossing Folder + Die Set - from lemon yellow cardstock. Place the open embossing folder on a hard flat surface and tap the large blossom area with a clean, juicy VersaMark inkpad. Tap it lightly - without squishing. Spritz both sides of the diecut with a light mist of water, then place it on the flower on the uninked half of the folder. Pressure-emboss the design using the plate(s) required for your machine.
Cover the VersaMark-ed design with detail clear embossing powder, tap off the excess, then heat-emboss it to highlight the texture. After it cools, use a cotton swab to daub the center with Verdant VersaFine Clair. Buff off any excess ink with a clean swab.
Diecut heavy white cardstock with the largest Double Stitch Happy Heart Cut Out die. We're using just the unstitched center offcut. Spritz both sides of the heart diecut with water and emboss it with a portion of the Gracious Floral 3D Embossing Folder. It's easier to place the diecut on the bottom section, then carefully close the folder.
Tape the 3", 2" and 1" Nested Globes dies together and cut the lemon yellow Graceful Garden Glitter Pad 6x6. Tape the 3 pieces together across the reverse side.
Stamp the greeting - from the Gracious Floral Clear Stamp and Die Set - on white cardstock with Verdant. Quickly heat-emboss it with detail clear powder. Diecut it with the second-smallest Nested Globes die. Cut lemon yellow cardstock with the same die and layer them, slightly offset.
Attach the diecuts to a white A6 card (4-½" x 6-¼") - use foam tape for the petal tips and the right top edge of the heart. Add green Bright Fairy Jewels.
A few extra steps - the inset globe background, heat-embossing, the diecut embossed heart and offset greeting - add just a few minutes to the process. Hope like how they highlight and accent the basic design!
Thanks for visiting - see you on Friday...
