Hi everyone. I have a garden scene card using various dies. All the die cuts were cut using colored card stock and then ink blended with Distress Oxide Ink in a darker color to add some depth. This is a longer project but worth it when it all comes together.
Back ground:
Trim a light blue paper from Ocean Blue paper pad to 5" x 5". Ink blend with Salty Ocean from the top to 1/3 down. Die cut Wild Grass Board from green card stock twice. Trim the card stock to 5" wide and have the 1 of the strips have a 1" base and the 2nd 1/2" base. Ink blend the 1" base lightly from the bottom up with Pine Needle and the 1/2" base heavily. Die cut the greenery for the tree using the bottom portion of the Cloudy Sun Collage from green paper. Trim the green paper to 5" wide and 2 1/" tall. Position the bottom cloud portion of the die along the bottom and side of the paper, die cutting several times, to create the greenery. Die cut another greenery that is shorter. Ink blend the larger greenery heavily with Mowed Lawn and the smaller greenery lighter. Die cut the Woodgrain Tree Trunk from brown card stock. Ink blend the sides and knots with Walnut Stain. Die cut Woodgrain Fence Pickets form cream card stock. Trim 2 strips of the cream card sock to 5" x 1/4". Ink blend with Antique Linen and the sides with Gathered Twiggs. Adhere the fence post to the 2 strips, starting at adhere the to fence post to either end and then in the center. Then fill in the rest spacing it evenly. Adhere to taller grass boarder to the bottom of the blue sky background. Adhere the fence on the grass. Adhere the darker tree greenery to the upper left of the background. Adhere the tree to the left side then adhere the smaller greenery and the other grass boarder. Trim off any excess paper.
Flowers:
Die cut the greenery from Layered Star Flowers from a yellow green paper 3 times. Ink blend the leaves with Cracked Pistachio. Die but the 2 smallest flowers from Layered Impatiens form light orange paper. Ink blend from the center out using Spiced Marmalade. Use a white paint pen and color the tips of the petals and blend with your finger into the center. Die cut the stems from Fresh Cut Stems from 2 different green paper. Ink blend one with Pine Needle and the other Rustic Wilderness. Die but the thin flower from Fresh Cut Stems from light yellow paper. Ink blend with Gathered Straw fully on the larger of the flowers and just at the bottom of the smaller flower. Adhere the smaller flower on the larger one. Die cut the flowers from Willow Gate from light pink card stock. Ink blend with Victorian Velvet from the tips of the petals to the center. Use a white paint pen to color the center and the cuts in the paper. Shape all the flowers using a small ball roller from the backside of the petals. Turn flowers over and push with the ball roller in the center. Adhere the yellow flowers to the darker green stems and the pink flowers to the other stems.
Assembly:
Adhere the taller flowers behind the top layer of grass around the tree and heavier on the right side. Adhere the light green foliage under the tree on top of the grass to form a bush. Fill in by adhering the orange flowers. Trim off any excess hanging off the bottom. The sides can stay as this is design to go into a standard 5"x7" envelop. Die cut Tilted Thanks from the light blue paper from Ocean Blue pad. Adhere to the bottom right hand corner.
