Plaid Magnolia
by Laura Fulcher

Greetings friends. I hope the weekend is treating you well. My card today features some of the new Magnolia Plaid paper as well as the Magnolia Blooming Bud die. I made it into a "hugs" card for support, but you could leave it bland and then save it as an emergency card to use for just about any occasion. I think it would work just as well for a birthday card as it would a sympathy card.

To make the card, I once again used the die envelope to help me figure out how to color and assemble my flower. I'm going to play around with the colors for my next magnolia cards, but for now, the image helped me get started. I sponged a little pink and green dye-based ink onto my petals and leaves to give them a bit of shading. For extra dimension, I put some foam mount tape under some of the flower petals to make them pop up off of the card. Here is a close up:

To make the background, I used some of the pretty paper from the Magnolia Plaid 6" x 6" pack and then added the leaf corner die to the left side and bottom of the card. I then added my flower with extra leaves and my sentiment.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

The plaid BG is so eye catching! Love the new papers!
