Magnolia Blooms 3D Embossing Folder & Dies
by Angie Cimbalo

3

Hello and welcome, it's Angie here today with a sympathy card featuring a brand newly released 3D embossing folder and die set called "Magnolia Blooms."  Here's a closer look at my card:

Close wm

I embossed 4 thick pieces of white card stock with the 3D embossing folder.  Next on one of them, I ran over the top of it with a Distress Oxide Spun Sugar ink pad, directly to the paper.  Below you can see that I also die cut out the 2 flowers with the coordinating dies from the other 3 embossed panels and stacked them on top of each other, then adhered them to the main panel with foam tape.

Adding foam tape

Below you can see the two white stacked flowers on top of the main embossed pink panel.  I really like the way it looked so I fussy cut the other partial flowers and stacked them too, and adhered them to the pink panel.

Adding little ink flower centers

Next as you can see below, I took 3 colors of Distress Oxide ink and a pencil type blending brush to add color to the flower centers.

Adding little ink flower centers

I trimmed down the main panel and added it to an A2 size (4.25" by 5.5") black piece of card stock, then added that to a white card base.

The sentiment from "Big & Little Words" stamp set was heat embossed in white on black card stock.

Here's one last look at my card:

I hope you enjoyed my card for today.  The new Magnolia release is just stunning, filled with so many beautiful dies, papers, embossing folders, and some brand new rub on transfers too!  Be sure to check it out HERE.   If you are interested in purchasing any of these supplies, please visit my blog HERE.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Be sure to come back tomorrow for more inspiration from the design team.

Magnolia Birthday Wishes
by Laura Fulcher

IMG_4129

Greetings friends. I have an April birthday card I needed to make, so I thought I would combine a birthday message along with some of the new magnolia dies.

I selected the Magnolia Blossom Trio for the card. You can assemble it any way you want. I used every piece from the die set, but you could just as easily pick and choose how many layers you want. This was for a birthday card, so I wanted to be as elaborate as possible!

To assemble the pieces of the flowers, I used the envelope of the dies as a reference for how to color and assemble the various pieces.  You can also use the Memory Box website as a reference point. Here is a link to the flowers on the website.

To color the flowers, I used my Copic airbrush to add a splash of color. You could also sponge the pieces with pink ink. For the background, I used one of the new 3D embossing folders for extra dimension. Here is a close up of the background and the flowers:

Textured, Transferred Marvelous Magnolia by Jean Okimoto

Here's a design that's quick and fail-proof - it's a perfectly-colored, embossed blossom from our new Magnolia Collection!  Hi, Jean here with an easy way to add color, texture and dimension to your cards with our new beautifully-colored Magnolia Rub-On Transfers.

MemoryBoxMarvelousMagnolia3DEmbossingFolderAndDies, MemoryBoxMagnoliaRub-onTransfers, MemoryBoxHelloStreamlinedScript, MemoryBoxNnestedGlobes, MemoryBoxMagnoliaPlaid6x6, MemoryBoxDies, MemoryBoxBrightJewels, MemoryBoxCo, JeanOkimoto, 3DEmbossingFolders, RubOnTransfers, HandmadeCards, Cardcrafting, CardmakingIdeas, FlowerCards, DiecutFlowers, ImpressCardsAndCrafts

Cut a Marvelous Magnolia Rub-On Transfer (and the paper liner) that matches a design from the

Marvelous Magnolia 3-D Embossing Folder and its set of dies - leave a generous margin around it for easier handling.  Carefully remove the frosty top layer with the design - be sure it's completely removed from the paper liner.  Press it firmly onto smooth pale lavender cardstock to transfer the design, add a soft tint of color to the petals, and highlight the lines at the base of the petals

Tip #1...a wooden craft stick for burnishing is included with the 2-piece rub-on set - using it is optional.  Instead - diecut the design with the matching die from the embossing folder set - the diecutting pressure will smoothly burnish the rub-on onto the cardstock.

Tip #2...don't remove the frosty top layer yet - it will cushion and protect the rub-on when it's pressure-embosssed in the folder.  Place the diecut in the folder and emboss it using the plate(s) and/or mat(s) required on your machine. Carefully remove the frosty top layer.

Diagonally cut a plaid 6x6 from the Magnolia Plaid pack with the 2.5" wide Nested Globe die.  Cut lavender cardstock with the 2" wide Nested Globe die.  Cut a purple 6x6 from the Twilight Purple Collection and spritz it with Imagine's Gold Sheer Shimmer Spritz.  Heat-set the ink, then cut the cardstock with the 1.5" wide Nested Globe die.

Glue 2 pieces of the purple cardstock together and diecut Hello Streamlined Script.  Pre-gluing and cutting both layers at once saves time and adds dimension to your greeting.

Cut white cardstock to 4.25" x 10" and score it at 4.5".  Attach the diecuts - use foamtape at the tips of the petals and large leaves.  Add green Bright Jewels.  Cut an A2-sized rectangle to cardstock to protect the card front for mailing.

Confession...I've never used rub-ons before and my first magnolia ended up on my sweater sleeve. A steep learning curve! Hope these tips and ideas inspire you to experiment with Magnolia Rub-Ons and create a stash of cards for any occasion.

Thanks for visiting...

Mini Slimline Think of You Card
by Sara Cook

Hi everyone!  I hope everyone is loving this new release as much as I am.  I have another card using the new Spring Magnolia release's Magnolia Bud trio and Magnolia Grove pattern papers.

FA318758-3EE9-42CF-B6EF-C85BA2650256

Flower Buds:

Diet the Magnolia Bud Trio from heavy weight white card stock.  Ink blend the buds using VersaFine Clair Purple Delight using a small makeup sponge.  Ink blend from the bottom up toward the center of the flower to get a gradient of color.  For the leaf portion I used VersaFine Clair Pinecone. Tip:  I used a stencil adhesive pad to hold my die cuts.  I put the negative paper on first then inserted the die cuts.  this holds them in place to make it easier to ink blend.  If I need I used a post it note to cover up other pieces so I didn't get ink in the wrong areas.  Adhere the pieces together following the first picture of the flowers.  It is pretty easy to follow.

57A00A61-C238-41E0-831E-EA1E8FF71927

Background:

Die cut 2 different size squares to stack on top of each other using the Magnolia Grove paper pad and the Square Basics Set.  For the smaller, top layer choose a cream with gold fold paper (less distracting from the buds).  Die cut with the 4th smallest square die. Adhere foam tape to back.  For the larger, bottom layer choose a darker color that will help ground the card.  die cut with the 5th smallest square die.  Adhere the 2 sized squares on top of each other.  Cut a strip of gold mirror paper from the Vintage Pastel Mirror pad to 1 3/4" x 5 1/2".  Center the 3 squares to the strip of gold mirror paper.  Adhere the strip to a mini-slim line card panel from the Magnolia Grove.  I chose a dark purple with gold foiling.

090F590A-040F-4C8A-AF0C-7A08D2C3AE11

Assembly:

Add the background panel to a 3 1/2" x 6" mini-slim line white card base.  Adhere 1 of the Magnolia Buds to 1 of the squares.  For the sentiment stamp cream card stock in the matching Pinecone ink using the thinking of you from the Big and Little Valentines stamp set.  Trim around each word and adhere to the bottom of each bud.

Magnolia Blossoms Leaf Branch
by Anne Thompson

There's so much to love about the new April Magnolia Collection!  For today's card I'm using MAGNOLIA LEAF BRANCH 94721 and MAGNOLIA BLOSSOM 94715 to highlight the new 6X6 paper pads--MAGNOLIA GROVE PP1022 and MAGNOLIA PLAID PP1021.  By now you must know how much I love plaid!

IMG_1515 (1)-ink

These are the two new paper pads.

IMG_1517 (1)-ink

And these are the two dies I used.

IMG_1514 (1)-ink

I chose one of the floral papers from Magnolia Grove PP1022 and trimmed it 5 1/4 X 4 and added it to the front of a top fold white notecard.

I cut the Magnolia Leaf Branch 94721 from one of the lovely green plaids in the Magnolia Plaid PP1021 paper pad.  I added the branch to the front of the card using a glue pen.

I cut the Magnolia Blossom 94715 three times from one of the lovely pink plaids in the Magnolia Plaid PP1021 paper pad and assembled the three flowers using Glue Dots.  I added the flowers to the branch with dimensional foam dots.  I then tucked in a couple of the single leaves from the branch die.

I left a space in the lower left to add an appropriate sentiment when I'm ready to send this card on its way.

What a beautiful card for springtime!

Happy Crafting!

Magnolia Hugs
by Laura Fulcher

IMG_4119

Greetings friends. The new magnolia line of products is here, and I couldn't wait to get my hands on it. For my card today, I paired one of the new 3D embossing folders with some rub ons to highlight pieces of the card.

I started by embossing my white cardstock. Remember to lightly mist your paper first to help prevent cracking:

IMG_4116

Next, I cut out some flower blanks that came with the embossing folder and used some rub ons to color them. For this card, I cut out my flowers first and then added some rub ons. Next time I am going to first add rub ons to paper and then cut them out with dies. I want to see which method I prefer:

IMG_4117

I added my flowers onto the embossed background and added my die cut sentiment. Of course, I had to add some of the new beautiful 6" x 6" papers in the background. I love papers that are already coordinated for me!

The New Magnolia Collection by Jean Okimoto

MemoryBoxBackyardWren, MemoryBoxVibrantLeafCorner, MemoryBoxMagnoliaBudTrio, MemoryBoxVintagePastelMirrorPad, MemoryBoxPastelFairyJewels, JeanOkimoto, MemoryBoxCo, MemoryBoxDies, MemoryBoxDiecuts, DiecutFrames, DiecutFelt, DiecutBirds, DiecutFlowers, BirdCards, Cardmaking, DiecutCards, ImpressCardsAndCrafts

April's Magnolia Collection is a beautiful array of blossoms, buds, foliage - and the sweet Backyard Wren.  He's already been artfully-colored and featured in inspiring designs by Sara and Donna and is becoming a Design Team favorite! Here's a simple, textured version in felt and pearlescent cardstock - for coloring-challenged cardmakers like me, or someone who needs a quick card.

Hi, Jean here with alternative ways to use two great designs from our latest release.  The Vibrant Leaf Corner is cut twice and joined to form a frame perfectly-sized for an A2 card.  Backyard Wren's wings are uplifted in flight as he pauses to admire a magnolia bud.

MemoryBoxBackyardWren, MemoryBoxVibrantLeafCorner, MemoryBoxMagnoliaBudTrio, MemoryBoxVintagePastelMirrorPad, MemoryBoxPastelFairyJewels, JeanOkimoto, MemoryBoxCo, MemoryBoxDies, MemoryBoxDiecuts, DiecutFrames, DiecutFelt, DiecutBirds, DiecutFlowers, BirdCards, Cardmaking, DiecutCards, ImpressCardsAndCrafts

Cut Vibrant Leaf Corner twice from light green cardstock.  It's easier to see the angled tips on the unattached diecuts in the picture.  Attach the diecuts to a side-folded light green A2 card, creating a leafy frame.

Cut Magnolia Bud Trio from the pink 6x6 in the Vintage Pastel Mirror Pad.  Cut the sepals from slightly darker green cardstock.  Assemble the buds and add them to the card.

Attach adhesive label paper (or a sticker sheet) to tan wool-blend felt and cut the large section of Backyard Wren. The paper backing stabilizes the felt and prevents adhesives from saturating it. Cut the beak section from yellow cardstock and color the area that will be the eye with a black marker.   Cut the wing pieces from the pearly gold Vintage Pastel 6x6.  Assemble the wren and attach it to the card - use foamtape behind the head and left tip of the large wing.

Add pale pink Pastel Fairy Jewels.

Wren Card
by Donna Sledzik

IMG_4620

Hello everyone!  Today's card features new products from the Memory Box, April 2023 release.  I love the Backyard Wren Die and I can see myself using it for numerous cards.

To create the card, I began by ink blending Distress Oxide Inks onto a white cardstock panel.  Next, I spattered the background with black ink, and used foam tape to adhere it to a white card base.

IMG_4617

I die cut the "Backyard Wren" and the "Curved Magnolia Branch" from white cardstock and used Distress Inks and Copic Markers to add color to the images.

IMG_4616

IMG_4618

IMG_4619

I glued the Magnolia Branch to the front of the card.  Next, I glued the wren and magnolia on top of the branch.

I stamped the sentiment in the bottom right hand corner of the card and added some Clear Fairy Drops for a little glitz.

That's it for today!  Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy the new release!

Magnolias and Wren Card
by Sara Cook

Hi everyone!  There is a NEW RELEASE and it is AMAZING!  Can't say it's my favorite but all the product is so beautiful that it's a rememberable one.  I have a card featuring the Backyard Wren die and Magnolia Rub On Transfer sheets that have matching dies and a 3D embossing folder.  Easy way to add beautiful flowers with all the depth but not the work.

18995B57-05FE-4482-BCEF-11834BE50FBA_1_201_a

Magnolias:

Cut out the flowers from the sheet (leave the backing on) that have the matching dies from the Marvelous Magnolia 3D Embossing Folder and Dies.  Make sure to leave a boarder. Remove the backing and place the transfer with the image side up.  Use the provided popsicle stick (or a large shaping tool or bone folder) and rub all over the transfer. Slowly peal from one corner, making sure the image transferred to the paper.  If the image is still stuck to then put back the transfer and rub some more.  Die cut using the matching dies from the Marvelous Magnolia.  Adhere the die cuts into the 3D embossing folder and run through your die cut machine.  I didn't line up the dies exactly but used a watercolor marker to color over any white paper that was miss aligned.

66965633-CF7D-4A13-8FFC-373576D4C605

Bird:

Die Cut the Backyard Wren from white card stock.  I ink blended all pieces using Distress Ink; Spiced Marmalade, Aged Mahogany, and Ground Espresso.  The body base doesn't have any of the Spiced Marmalade.  For the eye I used a black jell roll pen to give a little shine/life into the eye.Adhere the die cuts per the picture on the front.

ACE03089-55B3-4C61-A7F9-A9546DBDFFD9

Assembly:

Trim the beige paper from Magnolia Grove to 4 x 5 1/4".  Ink blend around the outside edge using Distress Aged Mahogany ink.  Adhere to a white , side folding, A2 sized card using form adhesive.  For the sentiment I used my premade sentiments using the Big and Little Valentines.  This is from a post a few years ago. I stamped the full set using a stamp plate form and taped it to the top.  I sampled on cream color card that was backed w/ double sided adhesive with dark brown ink.  I just put the sheet in the package and cut out sentiments as I need them.  I selected "special delivery" tried it to side and removed the backing of the adhesive and added to the bottom, left corner.

Seashells By the Seashore by Jean Okimoto

P1024474

Recall happy memories of a sunny seaside vacation with the Dazzling Seashells in a rainbow of colors.  The 3D Embossing Folder and Matching Dies add texture and dimension to a simple nautical design.  Hi, Jean here with a warm-weather card to brighten a gray spring day.

I used a sheet of ink-blended smooth white cardstock from my stash.  Spritz both sides with a light mist of water.  Pressure-emboss it with the Dazzling Seashells 3D Embossing Folder.  Use a hard rubber brayer to ink the embossed design with Pearlescent Jade Brilliance ink.  Dry the ink, then cut the shells with the matching dies.

P1024469

Prep the Wood Grain Planks die by rubbing it briskly with scrunched waxed paper to help release the textured planks.  Diecut it from grayish-white cardstock.

Diecut the long rope  - from the End of My Rope Set - twice from grayish-white cardstock.  Measure, trim and join the rope where it will be hidden by the bottom right shell.

Cut Hello Rush Script from the turquoise 6x6 in the Vintage Pastel Mirror Pad.

P1024480

Attach the diecuts to a white A6 card (4-½" x 6-¼") - use foamtape for the bottom center shell.  Attach pale blue Pastel Fairy Jewels.

Emboss, highlight and diecut several sets of shells and they'll be ready when you need them for a quick card!

Thanks for visiting...join us tomorrow for Sara's great design!
