Rainbow Cards with Curlicue Plate Die
by Angie Cimbalo

Hello and welcome!  I've got three cards today featuring the brand newly released "Curlicue Plate Die."

Here's my supply list:

I really like this die because it's so versatile and you can do so much with it.  I plan to make more cards using just portions of the die making it possible to make lots of cards from one die cut.

I ink blended inks on a piece of card stock with Simon Says inks in rainbow colors on a diagonal, then cut the die from it.  Before I took the die cut out of the die, I put a piece of Press and Seal on it, turned it over and then poked all the little pieces out onto the piece of Press and Seal.  Below you can see what that looks like:

Next, I cut 2 more of the dies from thick white card stock and added them to a white card base.  Here's a look at card #1.

As you can see I didn't paper piece every piece into the first card, just some of them.  Here's a close look:

With the left over pieces, I made the next card the same way:

They both have different pieces put into the openings and on the 2nd card I turned the panel over leaving the purple on the top and the red on the bottom.  Here's a close look:

Now for the last card, I used the rainbow colored die cut and added the left over white pieces to it.

To make this easier, I added the rainbow die to a piece of double sided adhesive and then paper pieced the pieces in.  If you look below you can see on the top right, the edge of double sided paper I added to hold all the little inserts.

And below you can see that after I pieced all the white piece in, I took the release paper off the other side of the double sided adhesive  paper so I could adhere the whole piece to a white card base.

Here's one last look at my 3rd and final card:

All three card have the same sentiment heat embossed in white on black card stock.   The sentiment is from the "Joyful Moments" stamp set CL5266.

I hope you like my rainbow cards for today!  I had so much fun creating in my craft room with this awesome new die.  Be sure to check out all the amazing new release items HERE.

Be sure to come back each day to see more inspiration from the design team.

The new Plumed Gypsy Feather is both bold and delicate - and perfect for any occasion.  It's just one of many beautiful and versatile designs in our Spring '23 Collection.  Hi, Jean here with a simple pastel design ready to welcome spring.

MemoryBoxPlumedGypsyFeather, MemoryBoxHugsTenderScript, MemoryBoxPastelJewels, MemoryBoxOpenStudioWatercolorPaper, MemoryBoxDelicatePasstelGlitterPad, JeanOkimoto, MemoryBoxCo, MemoryBoxSpring'23Collection, Diecutting, DiecutCard, FeatherDiecuts, FeatherCards, WordDiecuts, HandmadeCards, HappyMail, FriendshipCards, ImpressCardsAndCrafts

Cut the delicate overlay of the Plumed Gypsy Feather from heavy white cardstock.  Here's a tip - use the diecut as a template to find just the right section from a pale, watercolored background painted onto the smoother side of Open Studio Watercolor Paper.    Cut the background with the solid die.  This great set also includes a junior Plumed Gypsy Feather - I'm saving that for another project.

Tape two layers of white cardstock together and cut the new Hugs Tender Script background.  Pressure-emboss it with the overlay to create a debossed impression of the greeting to attach the overlay.  Cut the overlay from the pale blue Delicate Pastels Glitter Pad 6x6 sheet.

Assemble the feather and the greeting.  Attach the diecuts to a pale aqua card - use foamdots for the greeting.  Add matching Pastel Fairy Jewels.

Best Wishes
by Donna Sledzik

IMG_4056

Hello everyone!  Today's bright and cheerful card features new products from the 2023 Memory Box February Release.

I love cards that are created with blended ink backgrounds and black silhouettes for the focal point.  When I saw the Backyard Floral Stems Die I knew that it would be perfect for that type of card.

IMG_4058

I created an ink blended background on white cardstock, using Distress Oxide Inks and blender brushes.

IMG_4051

Next, I spattered the background with plain water and gold ink and let it dry.

IMG_4052

I die cut the Floral Stems twice from black cardstock and glued them to my background.  I did cut apart one of the die cuts and only used pieces from it.  I trimmed the excess die cuts from my background and glued it to a black cardstock mat, which was adhered to a white card base.

The word best was die cut from gold foil paper and the shadow from black cardstock.  I glued the gold foil word to the shadow die cut and adhered it to the card.

I stamped the word wishes in black ink under the word best.

IMG_4057

To finish the card, I glued a strip of black cardstock across the bottom of the card to add a little interest.

I hope you enjoyed today's card and have a great day!

Floral Wish Card
by Sara Cook

Hi everyone.  I have a birthday card featuring the new Backyard Floral Stems die.  I also using the new Curlicue Plate as a stencil.

63151741-FE73-4BB8-AF8E-6C716818D73A

Background:

Die cut the Curlicue Plate from the Black Glossy paper to create a stencil.  The glossy paper is best to use as a stencil as it wipes up and die cuts easily.  Stencil a piece of Open Studio Watercolor paper using stencil brushes on the following Element ink pad Pine, Mermaid, and Blue Lagoon.  Ink blend the colors randomly, overlapping the colors.  Remove the stencil and lightly ink blend with just the color left on the brushes until the paper is all covered up.  Spritz the left over ink on your crafting surface with water and smoosh the color onto the paper.  Let dry.  Cut down to 4" x 5 1/4".

Flowers:

Die cut the Backyard Floral Stems die from Open Studio Watercolor paper.  Color using pastel color pencils.  I used Van Gogh pencils in greens, yellow, pink, purple and white.  Pastel color pencils are easy to blend together as you color.  Using your finger to smudge the color together also works.

60B33D3E-357D-4A03-977F-07B532BD19E0

Sentiment:

Die cut the new Best Wishes Tender Script bottom die from cream card stock.  Die cut the top from a matching aqua color from the Fresh Aqua paper pad. Adhere together.  Use a clear glitter paint pen to add glitter to the top of the sentiment.  I have Nuvo's Glitter Gloss Aqua Shimmer pen.

Assembly:

Adhere the background panel to a A2 cream card base.  Tare vellum to just be smaller then the size of the flowers.  Adhere the flowers on the vellum.  Add tiny dots of glue to just behind the flowers so it does not show through and adhere to the background.  Adhere the sentiment to the lower portion of the flowers, showing the lower half of the stems.  Add some Pastel Fairy Jewels in matching color around the flowers.

Happy Valentine's Day to everyone celebrating today!

Brighten this winter day with the fresh new designs from Memory Box!  You'll love our latest collection - including florals, foliage, feathers, greetings, layering collages, seashells, shop tools and fishes -  and a beautiful Curlicue Plate.  There are so many great designs - we can't wait to share our ideas with you!

Hi, Jean here with one of my new favorites - Backyard Floral Stems.  It can be a leafy background just in shades of green - or add bright pops of color for little blossoms and buds.  Snip and arrange some stems as fillers for bouquets or vases.  Add a bunny and pastel eggs for Easter.  Diecut black cardstock for a spooky Halloween scene.

MemoryBoxSpring2023Collection, MemoryBoxPlumedGypsyButterfly, MemoryBoxBackyardFloralStems, MemoryBoxHelloRushScript, MemoryBoxCurvedCapPinpointLayers, MemoryBoxOpenStudioWatercolorPaper, MemoryBoxGracefulGardenGlitterPad, MemoryBoxPastelJewels, JeanOkimoto, FlowerDiecuts, FlowerCards, ButterflyDiecuts, ButterflyCards, Diecutting, DiecutCards, WatercoloredDiecuts, WordDiecuts, HandmadeCards, ImpressCardsAndCrafts

To create a subtle white-on-white background - tape two pieces of white cardstock together, then cut the doubled layers with the 2-¾" wide Curved Cap Pinpoint Layers die.  Run it through the machine twice to highlight the pinpoint pattern.

Paint the smoother side of Open Studio Watercolor Paper with diluted layers of abandoned coral, dried marigold and wild honey Distress Oxides.  Dry the inks, then spritz it with Imagine's Gold Sheer Shimmer Spritz and heat-set it.  Cut it with the Plumed Gypsy Butterfly background.  Cut the detailed butterfly layer from heavy white cardstock.

Prep Background Floral Stems by rubbing it briskly with scrunched waxed paper to help release the delicate pieces.  Cut it from the smoother side of Open Studio Watercolor Paper.  Leave the delicate diecut in the offcut and paint it with mowed lawn and abandoned coral Distress Oxides.  It's easier to paint it that way - especially the stems.  Gently heat-set the inks, then remove it from the offcut.

Cut Hello Rush Script from a green glittered 6x6 in the Graceful Garden Glitter Pad.

Attach the diecuts to a white A6 card (4-½" x 6-¼") - use foam tape for "h" in "hello" and the left edge of the butterfly.  Add pale gold Pastel Fairy Jewels.

Hope your favorite Retailer has ordered our latest release - you'll love the designs!  View the catalog of the newest Memory Box, Poppystamps and Birch Press Designs products.

Introducing a New Collection from Memory Box
by Anne Thompson

I am beyond excited about a new release from Memory Box which debuts today!  There is so much spring goodness--florals, leaves, more sentiments, A2 rectangle and other frames, another hot foil plate, embossing folders with coordinating dies, and so much more.  I'm  sharing just the few things that I used to create this card:

IMG_1321 (1)

materials and steps to create this card

IMG_1321 (1)

choose one of the green plaid papers from MADRAS PLAID CORAL AND GREEN PP1013 to cover the front of a white notecard

die cut the CURLICUE PLATE 94698 from one of the bright green card stock papers in the LUSH GREEN COLLECTION SP1003

add the Curlicue Plate to the plaid paper--I used a Glue Pen

IMG_1321 (1)

die cut the GENTLE ROSE WATERCOLOR FLORAL 94713 from two coordinating coral papers from the MADRAS PLAID CORAL AND GREEN PP1013 paper pad and assemble the flower--I used that Glue Pen again; the base die makes impressions that help to put the smaller pieces in the right place and the images on the back of the envelope are also helpful for placement

IMG_1321 (1)

die cut the WAYFARER LEAVES 94712 from scraps of the same green card stock; later I added more leaves cut from the scrap of green plaid I had left

IMG_1321 (1)

add the leaves to the flower with glue dots or tape

cut a 1" strip of white card stock the width of the card; at this point I decided this would be a top-fold card

secure the flower to the right end of the strip using dimensional foam dotsIMG_1321 (1)

die cut the HELLO RUSH SCRIPT 94468  from a scrap of the same bright green card stock; add it to the left of the flower on the white strip

IMG_1321 (1)

use more dimensional foam dots or squares to add the strip to the front of the notecard

IMG_1320 (1)-ink

I am so ready for spring!  And you will be, too, once you start making things with the newest from Memory Box in the February 2023 release.

Happy Crafting!

by Trina Pham

2E6A7579-0F41-4495-9D0E-5E593280AE0C

Hello everyone.  I have an all-occasion card today featuring the Luxe Peony and For You Posh Script dies from the 2023 Valentine’s collection.

The peony was die cut three times from white cardstock.  Using a finger brush, ink blended Victorian Velvet distress ink to each piece before layering / gluing them together.  For some sparkle, spritz them with a shimmer spray.  The leaves were die cut from alcohol marker friendly cardstock then colored with Copic Sketch markers YG61, YG63 and YG61.

42637380-5AEB-4C9C-8D7A-97607E82416C

The sentiment was die cut once from gold mirror paper and twice from thick white paper, then stacked onto its white shadow piece.  On a white A2 size panel, splattered with diluted black gouache paint for a bit of texture.  Assembled the card onto a white card base, popping up the middle peony with foam squares.  Added a few clear Fairy Drops to finish

That’s it for my card.  Thank you for joining me today.  Have a wonderful week.

Valentine's Candy Heart Card
by Sara Cook

Hi everyone.  I have a Valentine's candy card featuring the Love You Gallery Script Die.

B82B6CC1-7E3F-466E-9AD1-0153997DF5E5_1_201_a

Heart Candy:

Die cut the smallest die from the Double Stitch Loving Heart Cut Out die from a light yellow paper from Sunny Orange pad, light purple from Vibrant Violet pad, and pink from Berry Red pad.  Also cut 3 cards from white card stock. To give the candy look ink blend with a white pigment ink. Stamp a saying in the center from the Big and Little Valentines using just darker inks.  I used Fresh Ink Pink Lemonade and French Lavender then VersaFine Clair Summertime.

876D99B0-9FF6-4937-9D41-0952C7ABD512

Sentiment:

Die cut Love You Gallery Script from the peach Vintage Pastel Mirror paper and heavy weight cream card stock.  Use just the outline of the sentiment and adhere the mirror die cuts over the cream die cuts.

29823389-F02D-4610-8BF6-F662258F1AB1

Assembly:

Adhere a 4" x 5 1/4" panel cut from Kraft Woodgrain card stock to some fun foam that is cut slightly smaller.  Adhere the panel to a side folding white card. Adhere the 6 hearts in the center of the front panel.  Adhere the sentiment in-between the hearts.  Add Fairy Sugar Dewdrop to the center of the hearts of the sentiment.  Let dry.

Hearts and Hugs by Jean Okimoto

Doesn't it seem like we just celebrated Christmas...and now Valentine's Day is a week away? Here's a design that could be a quick Valentine - or a friendship card.  It's also some inspiration for February's Memory Box Challenge - this month's theme is "I'll drink to that."  Hi, Jean Okimoto here with slimline that's a mix of Memory Box and Poppystamps designs.

It's great that the little Cuppa Love heart can be perfectly aligned with the 4th heart from the bottom of the Sprinkle Heart Collage!  I think it looks like the collage hearts are floating out of the coffee cup.  Yes or no??

Cut gray cardstock with the 1-½" x 6-½" Wrapped Stitched Slim Rectangles die.  Cut the rectangle with Sprinkle Heart Collage.

MemoryBoxCuppaLove, MemoryBocSprinkleHeartCollage, MemoryBoxWrappedStitchedSlimRectangles, MemoryBoxPastelJewels, MemoryBoxGracefulGardenGlitterPad, PoppystampsPlayfulHug, JeanOkimoto, SlimlineCards, ValentineCards, HeartCards, CoffeeCards, HandmadeValentines, Diecutting, HeartDiecuts, ImpressCardsAndCrafts

Cut bright pink cardstock with the same rectangle die, then trim a little from the top and both sides so it'll fit behind the heart collage.  No guessing or measuring needed!

Here's an easy way to add the coffee.  Cut Cuppa Love from natural cardstock.  Attach Scor-Tape to the oval coffee insert die and cut the oval from brown cardstock.   Attach the (self-adhesive) brown oval behind the surface of the coffee cup and sprinkle that section with detail clear embossing powder.  Heat-emboss it.  It'll be glossy, like hot coffee (or really dark chocolate) - and adhered too.

Cut the cup insert from lighter pink cardstock.  Cut the Cuppa Love heart from a pink sheet in the Graceful Garden Glitter Pad.

Attach Scor-Tape behind a scrap of the bright pink cardstock and cut the Poppystamps Playful Hugs.

MemoryBoxCuppaLove, MemoryBocSprinkleHeartCollage, MemoryBoxWrappedStitchedSlimRectangles, MemoryBoxPastelJewels, MemoryBoxGracefulGardenGlitterPad, PoppystampsPlayfulHug, JeanOkimoto, SlimlineCards, ValentineCards, HeartCards, CoffeeCards, HandmadeValentines, Diecutting, HeartDiecuts, ImpressCardsAndCrafts

Attach the diecuts to a gray slimline card (3-½" x 8-½").  Add jewels from the Pastel Fairy Jewels set - these are from the first column of the jewels.  Cut a slimline-sized piece of cardstock to protect the card front for mailing.

Big thanks to everyone who ordered my LOVE...Simply Stated card kits from Impress - hope you liked the designs!

Thanks for visiting...have a great weekend!
