Hello and welcome!  It's Angie here today with another Valentine card to inspire you using brand new and previously released dies together.  Here's a closer look at my card:

The background was made with the Memory Box Pinpoint Leaf Plate dies 94381 on white card.  The heart was cut with the brand new Pinpoint Burst Heart Die 94639 topped with the sentiment die Love You Gallery Script Die 94636.  The hearts for the sentiment were cut from the Delicate Pastel Glitter paper pad.  Here's a closer look at the hearts.

The floral pieces cut with the Luxe Peony Dies set 94714 from different shade of grays using the Earth Tones 6X6 paper pad.
Here's one last look at my card:

I just love all the pinpoint dots on this card combined with the pink glitter hearts!

Layered Hearts by Jean Okimoto

P1022248

A combination of layered hearts from Memory Box and Poppystamps creates a simple card for Valentine's Day.  It's a basic design that works in your favorite shades of red, pink or violet.  Add a dark chocolate background and a layered greeting.  Hello,         Jean Okimoto here with a quick and easy design that's easy to diecut and quick to assemble.

P1022274

Cut dark brown cardstock with the largest Double Stitch Loving Heart Cut Out die.  Cut the dark pink glittered 6x6 from the Glitzy Glitter Pad with the smallest heart die.

Cut a  dark violet 6x6 from the Vibrant Violet Collection with the second-largest heart die from the set too. Place the diecut in the Pinpoint Heart Burst die and cut it again to trim it and add the pinpoint details.  The versatile Pinpoint Heart Burst has a large format that's great as-is - it's also perfect for diecutting with smaller heart dies.

Cut the dark violet cardstock with the scallopped die from the Poppystamps Vintage Scalloped Heart set.

P1022255

Layer the hearts - use double-stick tape at the bottoms and foam tape near the edges of the top half of the hearts.

Cut the background of the For You Posh Script set from the dark violet 6x6.  Cut the detailed overlay from white cardstock.

P1022260

Attach the diecuts to a white A6 card (4-½" x 6-¼").  Add the brown Autumn Fairy Crystals.  Cut an A6-sized piece of cardstock to protect the card front for mailing.

Memory Box, Poppystamps and Birch Press have versatile collections of heart dies to mix and match to celebrate Valentine's Day, engagements, weddings and anniversaries.  They're great for friendship cards too!

Thanks for visiting...keep warm, create cards and have a wonderful weekend!

Trifold Valentines Card
by Sara Cook

Hi everyone.  I have a trifold Globe shape Valentines card featuring the Pinpoint Burst heart die.  Did you know you can heat foil any dies!  The fold will stick where the metal touches the paper.  Memory Box has a lot of different dies that cut or emboss on the paper.  Look through your stash and see what you can heat foil.  Just follow the same instructions as regular folding.

9869DF66-0E63-4285-B743-B9AA7736DE7D_1_201_a

Card base:

Die cut the largest die from the Nested Globe die set 5 times from heavy weight card stock. For the windows take 1 Globe die cut and die cut the 4th largest die in the center.  Remove the center, leaving the die in place.  Take the next Globe die cut and temporary tape it to the front panel die cut.  Repeat the process for the next 2 die cut.  Leaving 1 die cut as is. for the back panel.  Next stencil the window panels with the Leafy Row stencil and Fresh Ink Pink Lemonade ink.  I used a stencil blending brush heavy for the leafs and then remove the stencil.  Lightly blend with the same ink over all the panels, including the back panel. .  To create a hinge for the panels cut 2 strips of white card stock to 3" x 1/2".  Next score down the center at 1/4".

AA2B1581-D251-4032-8BB8-22C5AD9C350D

Window centers:

Die cut the Willow Globe from a light pink paper from the Berry Red pad and from vellum.  Glue together along the outside rim.  Do NOT glue the leaves together.  Die cut the Heart Streamer Globe die set from a red paper from Berry Red pad.  Die cut the heart dies from the Heart Streamer Globe die set from a shiny gold paper from the Vintage Pastel Mirror pad.  Glue the hearts to the streamers, front and back.

AA2B1581-D251-4032-8BB8-22C5AD9C350D

Foiled Heart:

Gold heat foil the Pinpoint Burst Heart from a dark red paper from the Berry Red pad. secure the die to the foil and paper. It is the same process as you would a normal foil plate.  I used a Gemini Jr foil machine and it has a heat and cut plate option.  If your foil machine does not just heat foil the heart first then run through as a regular die cut.

Sentiment:

Stamp Happy Valentine's Day from the Big and Little Valentines clear stamp set .on white card stock using Fresh Ink Tomato Red. Trim down to small strips.

E5E44088-0E40-4419-A884-29377329127C_1_201_a

Assembly:

Take 2 window panels for the front and glue in the Willow Globe die cuts into the backside of the window.  Take 1 of the hinges and add glue to 1 side of the score line and place on the left side of  inside of the back window panel for the front..  Make sure the hinge faces down with the hinge folding towards the back.  Glue on the top of the window panel.  Repeat this process for the inner fold window panel but put the hinge on the left side of the panel.  One the back full panel adhere the foiled heart.  Adhere Happy to top of the heart and Valentine's Day to the bottom.  Adhere the inside panel first to the left side of the back of the base panel, lining up the bottoms. Let glue dry and then fold the panel open and closed a few times.  Glue the front panel hinge to the left side, back of the back panel.  Let glue dry and open and close a few times.

Luxe Peony Heart
by Trina Pham

A7A1691E-AC00-459D-BE14-987AD45E9E86

Hello everyone.  Taking a break from pinks / purples / Valentine to create a simple hello card featuring the beautiful Luxe Peony die from the current 2023 Valentine’s collection.  The color may or may not have been influenced by blue Monday two days ago. 🤷🏻‍♀️😂

The peony layers and leaves were die cut from white cardstock.  The petal layers were ink blended with light blue dye ink using a finger blending brush, while the leaves were colored with FB2 Copic Sketch marker.  The ink blending ended up being too faint, so used light blue Copic Sketch markers to give it more contrast.  Glued the peony layers together, then spritz with a shimmer spray for some sparkle (couldn’t capture it in the photos).

3975CF78-DA0A-4009-AD97-0B275046F1E7

A heart aperture was then die cut from white woodgrain paper with the Double Stitch Loving Heart Cut Out die.  Die cut the sentiment from black and white cardstock, then assembled the card onto a white card base to finish.

And that’s it for my card.  Thank you for joining me today.  Have a wonderful day.

Remember vellum?  Transform the beautiful Luxe Peony into a delicate camellia with layers of sweet pink vellum.  The shadowy overlapped petals create depth and dimension and a soft background for the glittery yellow centers  from the Layered Fresh Flowers die set. Hi, Jean Okimoto here with a floral slimline that could be a Valentine - or a thinking-of-you card for someone deserves a hug.

Cut two sets of Luxe Peony from pink vellum.  Layer the diecuts to build three blossoms - you'll have a few extra pieces.  Use short bits of doublestick tape near the center of the flower to attach the layers.    They'll be hidden by the centers of the flowers.Cut the two centers - from the Layered Fresh Flowers set - from a yellow 6x6 in the Graceful Garden Glitter Pad.  Cut the small round piece in half.  Attach the centers.  Lightly curl several petals using the side of a bone folder or the plastic flower burnishing tool.

Cut two sets of  leaves - from the the Luxe Peony set - from a green 6x6 in the Lush Green Collection.

Cut Pinpoint Burst Heart from white cardstock

Cut two white solid backgrounds from Big Hugs Posh Script.  Pressure-emboss one of them  with the delicate Big Hugs die using the rubber embossing mat and plate(s) required for your machine. The embossed greeting makes it easy to attach the pink glittered layer.    Cut a pink 6x6 from the Delicate Pastels Glitter Pad with the delicate Big Hugs die.

Attach the diecuts to a white slimline card (3-⅝" x 8-½").  Add clear Christmas Fairy Dewdrops.  Cut a slimline-sized piece of cardstock to protect the card front for mailing.

Experiment with different colors and weights of vellum and discover new ways to use the Memory Box floral dies.  Assemble a stash of floral cards and be ready for any occasion!

Thanks for visiting...see you on Friday!

Valentine Card Backgrounds Using Jolly Christmas Paper
by Anne Thompson

The idea for today's cards came from my friend Donna and I think it's a great way to repurpose the rest of the Jolly Christmas papers you have as backgrounds for valentine cards and also using Garland papers for adding decorative details.

IMG_1218 (1)-ink

Start with a 4" X 4" square of one of the JOLLY CHRISTMAS PP1019 papers--I chose ones that had a lot of red and white or pinks in them.  Cut the square in half on the diagonal so you end up with two triangles.  Adhere the triangles to the front of a white (or red or pink) notecard with the shorter sides of the triangles aligned with the outside edges of the notecard, with the corner point in either the upper left and lower right corners or the upper right and lower left corners.  This will leave a solid band of color (that of the notecard) between the two triangles.  Cards can then be oriented for top-fold or side-fold opening.

Card One

IMG_1215 copy (1)-ink

  • red and white plaid paper on a white notecard, side-fold, one triangle in the upper left corner and one in the lower right corner
  • PINPOINT BURST HEART 94639 cut from white card stock glued on the top 2/3 of the card overlapping both triangles and the center band
  • "Love" from SENDING LOVE DAILY SCRIPT 94661, background cut from white card stock and the detailed letters cut from a scrap of the same red and white plaid, assembled and glued in the lower right corner

Card Two

IMG_1214 (1)-ink

  • pinks plaid paper on a white notecard, top-fold, one triangle in the upper left corner and one in the lower right corner
  • large heart cut with one of the DOUBLE STITCH LOVING HEART CUT OUT dies 94359--use the plain heart that cuts out--cut from a coordinating floral paper in the GARLAND PP1010 paper pad, glued to the center of the card, overlapping both triangles and the center band
  • "Love" from SENDING LOVE DAILY SCRIPT 94661, background cut from white card stock and the detailed letters cut from a scrap of the same pinks plaid, assembled and glued in the lower left corner

Card Three

IMG_1217 (1)-ink

  • red plaid paper on white notecard, side-fold, one triangle in the upper left corner and one in the lower right corner
  • HEART RING STACK 94662 cut from the pink roses on black floral paper in the GARLAND PP1010 paper pad, glued in the center white band
  • two hearts, one medium and one small, cut with dies from the DOUBLE STITCH LOVING HEART CUT OUT 94359 set, the medium heart glued on the upper left triangle and the smaller one on the lower right triangle
  • "Love" from SENDING LOVE DAILY SCRIPT 94661, background cut from white card stock and the detailed letters cut from a scrap of the same red plaid, assembled and glued in the lower right corner under the small heart

Card Four

IMG_1216 (1)-ink

  • red plaid paper on white notecard, side-fold, one triangle in the upper right corner and one in the lower left corner
  • RING STACK 94547 cut from a pink flowers with green ferns and white dots paper from the GARLAND PP1010 paper pad, glued across the white band, overlapping the plaid triangles a bit
  • two medium hearts, again using the DOUBLE STITCH LOVING HEART CUT OUT die, one white and placed off-center behind one from the same floral paper, added to the lower right corner with dimensional foam dots
  • one small heart, again using the DOUBLE STITCH LOVING HEART CUT OUT die, cut from the same floral paper and 0"Love" from SENDING LOVE DAILY SCRIPT 94661, background cut from white card stock and the detailed letters cut from a scrap of the same red plaid, assembled and glued in the lower left corner under the small heart

These are the dies I used:

IMG_1222 (1)-ink

Honestly, these cards came together very quickly.  I made all of the background triangles first and glued them to the notecards.  Then I auditioned the dies in my valentine box.  And there are so many I didn't choose that would have worked just as well or even better.  Think of all the floral dies you have!  And stamps!  The possibilities are endless.

Happy Crafting!

Watercolor Sending Love
by Laura Fulcher

IMG_4009

Greetings friends. I have been making Valentine's Day cards, but I prefer to make cards that can be used year-round. I made this sending love card to have on hand in case I loved one who needs a little bit of support in the mail.

To make the card, I started with the smooth side of Memory Box watercolor paper and wet a strip on the paper with a large paintbrush and some clean water. I then touched different spots on the wet strip with some of my favorite colors of watercolor paint. The paint spread easily because the paper was pre-wet, and the color stayed in the areas I had wet with my paintbrush. Here is the finished look when it dried:

IMG_3998

Next, I cut out a heart using one of my new dies. This is what it looked like:

IMG_3999

The Pinpoint Burst Heart die adds all the little lines to the heart, which makes it a bit more interesting. To finish the card, I added my sentiment as well as some rhinestones:

IMG_4005

I cut my card into a 4 1/4" x 4 1/4" square, but I will mail it in a standard A2 envelope so that it won't require any extra postage.

I hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Love You
by Donna Sledzik

IMG_3675

Hello everyone!  Today I have a simple Valentine's Day card for you featuring new dies from the new Valentine's Day release.

IMG_3678

I die cut the Pinpoint Burst Heart in the center of a white cardstock panel and used Distress Oxide Ink to add color to the heart.

Next, I used foam tape and adhered the white panel to a black cardstock mat and glued it to a white card base.

I glued the die cut heart back in place on the card.

I die cut the "Love You" words in the middle of a strip of white cardstock.  Next, I glued the die cut to a piece of pink cardstock, matted it to a strip of black cardstock, and glued it across the die cut heart.

IMG_3677

I die cut the words again from red cardstock and used only the hearts and glued them on to the words Love & You.

To finish the card I applied Glossy Accents to the hearts and adhered red fairy crystals to the card.

That's it for today!  Thanks for stopping by!

Add a glossy pressure-and heat-embossed Blissful Heart to your Valentines with the new hot foil plate.  It's a quick and easy way to highlight the beautiful details of this versatile die - without foil, for a different look.  Hello, Jean Okimoto here with a fresh pink greeting for a coffee-lover.

Spray 2 light spritzes of water onto each side of textured pink cardstock.  It softens the cardstock and preps it for pressure embossing.  Place the Blissful Heart Hot Foil Plate face-down onto the textured side of the moist cardstock.  Pressure-emboss it using the rubber embossing mat and plates required for your machine.

MemoryBoxBlissfulHeartHotFoilPlate, MemoryBoxCuppaLove, MemoryBoxSendingLovePoshScript, MemoryBoxDoubleStitchLovingHeartCutOut, MemoryBoxGracefulGardenGlitterPad, MemoryBoxDelicatePastelGlitterPad, MemoryBoxOpenStudioWatercolorPaper, JeanOkimoto, HandmadeValentines, HeartCards, HeartDiecuts, MemoryBoxCo, WordDiecuts, CoffeeCards, CoffeeDiecuts, Diecutting, Papercrafting, ImpressCardsAndCrafts, EmbossedCards, HotFoilPlates

Briefly heat-set the cardstock if it's still damp, then let it cool.  Place it on a hard, flat surface and brayer it with VersaMark - use a clean, juicy inkpad.  Heat-emboss it with detail clear powder.

Let it cool, then trim it asymmetrically with the second-largest Double Stitch Loving Heart Cut Out die.

Prep the detailed Cuppa Love die by rubbing it briskly with scrunched waxed paper to help release the little pieces.  Cut it from the smoother side of Open Studio Watercolor Paper.  Cut the side of the cup from the textured pink cardstock.  Cut the coffee oval from dark brown cardstock.  Cut the interior of the heart from a pink sheet in the Graceful Garden Glitter Pad.

Prep the Sending Love Posh Script die with waxed paper and diecut it from a white glittered sheet in the Delicate Pastels Glitter Pad - leave the tiny dot for the "i" in the die until you need it.

Attach the diecuts to a side-folded recycled Kraft A2 card.

Memory Box Hot Foil Plates create beautifully foiled detailed images.  They're also great with just basic pressure embossing for a subtle monochromatic look.  Or follow this technique for glossy, highlighted designs.

Thanks for visiting - have a great weekend!

Heart Shaped Wreath Card
by Sara Cook

Hi everyone.  I have a heart shaped wreath card for any occasion featuring the new For You Posh script die set.

5D1A7BBD-A968-427F-A1BC-78210C726901

Background:

Cut a heavy Kraft card stock to 4" x 5 1/4" panel.  Die cut a heart in the center of the panel using the 2nd largest die form the Double Stitched Loving Heart Cut Out die set.  Splatter with white ink and gold metallic watercolor paint.  Add double sided foam to the backside of the panel.

373CDB26-4CBC-48C5-9A8A-D87A0A0E2E17

Flowers and Leaves:

Doe cut the following flower dies from a heavy white card stock several time, Layered Star Flowers, 2 smallest Layered Impatiens, and 2 smallest Paisley Blooms.  I used Pan Pastels to color to color the flowers. The main colors were applied from the tip of the petal to the center. For the Star Flowers I used the pastel purple and then lightly applied fuchsia.  For the Paisley I used fuchsia and pastel purple.  For the Layered Impatiens I used fuchsia and red/orange. For the centers I used the primary yellow and applied with a small makeup foam brush and pushed the color into the petals, lightly blending.  Shape the Layered Star Flowers using a straight reverse tweezers, placing them in the center of the petal and pinching the petal upward over the tweezers.  Adhere all the layers together with liquid glue on a foam mat and pushing on the center to set the glue.  For the impatiens and paisley blooms use a ball tip shaper that is just slightly smaller then the petal.  From the backside of the flower on the foam pad press from the tip of the petal to the center to have the petal cup over the ball tip.  When complete with all the petals flip the flowers over and use a smaller ball point shaper to push in the center to cup the full flower.  Glue all the flower layers together.   Die cut the leaves from the Layered Star Flowers from a dark and mid-tone green from the Fresh Green paper pad 3 times.

F3BEA8CC-4F2D-4BE1-84BD-BFACDDA58F57

Sentiment:

Die the bottom of the For You Posh Script die set from shiny gold paper and the top from peach paper from the Vintage Pastel Mirror pad. Adhere together.

Assembly:

Add the background panel to a side folding white A2 size card.  Adhere the largest of the leaves from the Layered Star Flower die set around the heart cut out alternating the colors.  Add the flowers around the heart starting with the largest flowers then filling in with the smallest.  Fill in the wreath with the smaller leaves, trimming as needed.  Add the sentiment with tape runner to the center of the heart cut out.  I found it easer to tuck it in after the wreath was made.   Add any sentiment on the inside.  I make my cards ahead and leave the inside blank and add a sentiment when I need a card.
