Winter Tree Arch Blues
by Trina Pham

IMG_4346

Hello everyone.  With the weather going from unseasonably mild to unseasonably freezing cold in a day here, it inspired me to create this wintry card featuring never before used (NBUS) Winter Tree Arch die with some leftover pine tree die cut pieces from this post.

Partial die cutting was used with the Winter Tree Arch die to make the trees taller from its original design (see comparison photo below).  Subsequently, partial die cutting was also done with the Nested Globes dies to create the matching arch background and frame.

IMG_4350

Faded Jeans and Speckled Egg distress inks (DI) were then ink blended on the background piece before splattering it with diluted white gouache paint for snow.  Kept the pine trees white, but for some sparkle, die cut the top layers from white glitter paper.

IMG_4351

The sentiment was also die cut from white glitter paper and mounted on its navy blue shadow.  Assembled the card onto a white woidgrain panel to finish.

And that does it for my card.  Thank you for joining me today.  Have a wonderful day.

Happy Fall with Mirror Cardstock
by Angie Cimbalo

Main

Hello and welcome, it's Angie here today with a pretty "Happy Fall" card on this fine October day!

Here's a close up look at my card:

Close

To create my card I used the brand newly released "Happy Fall Posh Script" word die, the "Birch Tree Forest 3D embossing folder, and the "Gypsy Oak Leaves" die set.

First I dry embossed a panel of Memory Box watercolor cardstock with the birch tree folder and set it aside.  I took two more pieces of the watercolor paper and used Distress Inks and my water sprayer on my glass mat and smooshed the watercolor paper into the ink water mixture.  I did each color separately and dried them in between each color.  I started with the lightest, Mustard Seed, then Spiced Marmalade, 3 shades of green (Shabby Shutters, Mowed Lawn and Crushed Olive mixed together with the water), Brushed Corduroy, and then Aged Mahogany.

I used one colored panel to cut the base of the leaves from and the other for my card's background.  I also cut some of the base of the leaves from white card stock for stacking them and giving them dimension.  For the leaves outline dies and the background word die, I used the copper/orange color mirror cardstock from the "Rainbow Reflections Mirror Pad."   I also cut extras of the word dies from white cardstock for more stacking and dimension.

Then all I had to do was add the embossed panel to the smooshed background, add the stacked leaves and stacked sentiment and my card was complete.

Here's one last look:

1

I hope you like my card for today.  The latest release from Memory Box had just a bit of fall goodies and lots of upcoming Christmas/Winter Holiday products, including some brand new foiled sentiment strips tabs.  There's also lots of 3D embossing folders with dies, stencils. and so many gorgeous dies to chose from.  For links to all my products, please click HERE to go to my blog.

Thanks so much for stopping by, and remember to come back each day for more inspiration from our design team.

Halloween Display Dome
by Donna Sledzik

IMG_6665

Hello everyone!  Today I have a cute Halloween project for you.

I started with a Tim Holtz Display Dome, and used die cuts to decorate the dome.

From black cardstock, I die cut the trees and the haunted house.  I die cut 2 houses and sandwiched a piece of vellum between the 2 houses.  The trees were die cut with the Ghosts in the Forest die and trimmed at the bottom to fit in the dome.

Next, I die cut 2 ghosts from white cardstock and glued them to the back of the Haunted House.

IMG_6666

To assemble the dome, I used a glue gun to glue the house to the base of the dome.  Next, I glued the trees to the base.  I glued a layer of moss to the base and a little pumpkin in front of the house.

IMG_6663 (1)

To finish the dome, I white heat embossed the word "Boo" on a strip of black cardstock.  I punched a hole on each side of the stamped strip, threaded a piece of twine through the holes and wrapped it around the base of the dome.

That's it for today!  Have a great Halloween! šŸŽƒ

Best Wishes
by Donna Sledzik

IMG_6552

Hello everyone!  Today's card is inspired by all the beautiful autumn colors!

To make this card card, I started by die cutting the new Gypsy Oak Leaves several times from colored cardstock.  I glued all the outline leaf shapes to the solid leaf die cuts.

I used the one of the Wrapped Stitched Rectangles to die cut a card panel from the White Woodgrain cardstock.

Next, I glued my die cut leaves to the panel and spattered it with gold ink.

I used foam tape to adhere the panel to a white card base.

I stamped the sentiment onto a strip of white cardstock and gold heat embossed it.  I inked  the edges of the sentiment strip with gold ink and used foam tape to adhere it to the card.

That's it for today!  Thank you for stopping by and enjoy the rest of the week!

Capture the colors of a autumn sunset on a background for the new Gypsy Oak Leaves.  Heat-embossed speckles and the new Happy Fall Posh Script greeting add golden highlights.  Hi, Jean here - with another way to use the great new die from the Vintage Tray 3D Embossing Folder set.

Attach Vintage Tray 3D Embossing Folder die to smooth white cardstock and create ink-blended blocks of warm fall pastels.  Distress Oxides were used here - spiced marmalade, kitsch flamingo, wild honey and dried marigold.  Remove and clean the die and heat-set the inks.

The new Snow Flurries Stencil is great for random scattered speckles  - perfect for those of us who are ink-splatter-challenged.  Stencil a few of the dots with VersaMark and heat-emboss them with detail gold powder.  Diecut the blocks - save the extras for another project.

Cut Gypsy Oak Leaves from light- and medium-coral cardstock.  Assemble the leaves - slightly offset.

Glue 2 layers of white cardstock together and diecut the Happy Fall Posh Script Background.  Pressure-emboss it with the detailed greeting using the rubber embossing mat and plate(s) required for your machine.  Cut the detailed greeting from the gold Rainbow Reflections Mirror Pad 6x6.

Attach the diecuts to a white A6 card (6-Ā¼" x 4-Ā½").  Add light gold Autumn Fairy Crystals.  Cut an A6-sized piece of cardstock to protect the card front for mailing.

Fall Blessings
by Trina Pham

IMG_2627

Hello everyone.  Pumpkins are not just for Halloween. šŸ˜‰  Iā€™m using the Autumn Pumpkin die from the 2023 Fall collection again, and this time using it to create a fall / thanksgiving card.

All images / pieces were die cut from various white paper and/or cardstock.  Ink blending with blending brushes and distress inks (DIs) were used to color them, except for the pumpkin and leaves.  Copic Sketch markers E41/43, W3 and BG99 were used to color the white pumpkin, while the orange leaves were done by ink smooshing diluted Spiced Marmalade and Rusty Hinge DIs.  The large Layered Daisies were die cut three times and their centers were from Riverbank Large Layered Blooms.

DIs used include:
large daisies - Kitsch Flamingo, Picked Raspberry, Gathered Twigs
small daisies - Mustard Seed, Wilted Violet
Layered Greenery Stems - Iced Spruce

IMG_2628

The Mini Varsity Alphabet letters were die cut from gold Vintage Pastel Mirror paper and adhered onto a dark brown cardstock strip.  The background panel is cream woodgrain paper scored vertically at 1ā€ intervals, then an Antique Linen DI cube was dragged direct-to-paper down its length to help bring out the woodgrain texture.  Assembled the card onto a cream color card base to finish.

That does it for my card.  Thank you for joining me today.  Have a wonderful week,

Glittery Pumpkins on the Vine
by Anne Thompson

I've got more pumpkins--glittery ones on a glittery vine!

0-3 (1)-ink (1)

to make this card

  • start with a plain white notecard and add a piece of green plaid paper 5 1/4 X 4 to the front; this plaid that was in my scrap box is from MAGNOLIA PLAID 6X6 PP1021
  •  die cut the MAGNOLIA LEAF BRANCH 94721 in green glitter paper from GLITZY GLITTER PAD GP1007

0 (1)-ink

  • die cut two pumpkins from orange glitter paper and their stems and leaves from green glitter paper, both from GLITZY GLITTER PAD GP1007 using the AUTUMN PUMPKIN 94690 die

0-1 (1)-ink

  • add the leafy branch to the front of the note card

0-2 (1)-ink

  • use glue dots to adhere the stems to the pumpkins
  • put dimensional foam in two different thicknesses on the center back of the pumpkins
  • at this point I decided to orient the card with the fold at the top in order to place the pumpkins in the bottom right corner
  • loop the stems over the branch and adhere the pumpkins to the front of the card, one slightly higher and on top of the other
  • add one leaf to each pumpkin and place the other pumpkin leaves on the vine

0-5 (1)-ink

There's plenty of room to add an appropriate sentiment in the upper left once I decide who will get this card and for what occasion.  I've been doing this with most of the cards I've been making lately as I'm building up a stash of fall-themed cards and I don't send many at Halloween.

Happy Crafting!
