Joy to You and Yours
by Donna Sledzik

IMG_9046

Hello everyone!  Today's card features a new stamp from the Yuletide release.  I love to color in stamped images, and this is a perfect stamp to do just that.

I stamped the image twice on a white cardstock panel and used Prisma Color Pencils to color in the images.  Once the coloring was done, I lightly inked around the edge of the panel with Antique Linen Distress ink and spattered it with gold ink.  I mounted the panel to a black cardstock mat and used foam tape to adhere it to a white card base.

IMG_9045

The word "joy" was die cut from red cardstock and glued to a white shadow die cut.  I used foam tape to adhere it to the card.

IMG_9049

I stamped the sentiment with Versa Fine Ink, white heat embossed it and glued it underneath the word joy.

That's it for today!  Have a great week!

Christmas in July Card
by Donna Sledzik

IMG_8720

Hello everyone!  I couldn't let July pass, without making a Christmas in July card.

I started by die cutting the Aurora Snowflake Frame from white cardstock and glued it to a white cardstock panel.  I cut a piece of green plaid patterned cardstock and glued it to the bottom portion of the panel. Next, I adhered the panel to a gold metallic cardstock mat, and glued it to a white card base.

I die cut the Glorious Poinsettia from white cardstock and used Distress inks and a blending brush to add color to the die cuts. The leaves were die cut twice from white cardstock and Distress ink was also used to add color to them.  I glued the poinsettia together and used foam tape to adhere it to the card.  The leaves were tucked under the poinsettia and glued in place.

IMG_8721

The words "Merry Christmas" were stamped with Versa Mark Ink onto red cardstock, gold heat embossed and die cut with the coordinating die.  These were glued to the card front.

IMG_8723

To finish it off, I glued some gold embellishments to add a little bling to the card.

That's it for today!  Thanks for stopping by!

Gladiola Thank You Card
by Sara Cook

Hi everyone.  My daughter is graduating this Sumer and I need a lot of thank you cards.  I will have several thank you card designs over the next few weeks.  Using the Thank You Greeting Tabs and a flower die as a focal point makes it easy to create individual design cards.

85B81EE5-8EB8-40B8-A47E-1EF75315BE41_1_201_a

Background:

Select a lighter peachy color paper  from the Blush Solid Core pack and trim to 4" x 5 1/2".  Heat emboss with a gold embossing powder using the Cheerful Floral clear stamp set.  Ink blend with Distress Oxide Tattered Rose around the outside half way in.  Then ink blend with Tea Dye staying towards the edges. Finally ink blend the edge of the card with Scorched Timber.  Die cut heavy weight vellum using the 3rd smallest die from the Wrapped Stitched Slim Rectangle.  Position the die cut back in the edge of the die to cut to the length of 5 1/2" tall, keeping the width the same.

Flower:

Die cut the Sensational Gladiola Stem fro white card stock.  Ink blend the petals with Distress Oxide Tattered Rose, shedding heavy at the bottom and light on the top.  Ink blend the buds heavy. Leave the tops of the petals white.  Ink blend the stems using Distress Oxide Bundled Sage and then lightly with Scorched Timber.  Adhere the flowers together following the image on the front of the envelope.

Bird:

Die cut the Layered Hummingbird from heavy white card stock.  Ink blend the body of the bird very lightly with Distress Oxide Tea Dye.  Ink blend the eye using Tattered Rose and then Tea Dye.  Ink blend the beak/eye using Scorched Timber.  The head and wings use Bundled Sage and darken using Scorched Timber.  Adhere together using the envelope as a guide.  Add black gel pen to the eye.

Assembly:

Adhere the background to the center of a A2 card panel then to a white A2 size card.  Adhere the flowers to the center of the vellum die cut panel.  Then adhere to the left side of the card.  Adhere a Thank You Foil Greeting Black Tab.

Anemone Bird House
by Trina Pham

IMG_4946

Hello everyone.  It may be Valentine’s Day, but my card is not. 😂   I have a simple card with all the spring feels to share today using  Anemone Blooms and Elegant Anemone dies from the Anemone collection with the Woodgrain Bird House and Leaf Bunches  dies from the 2023 Christmas collection.

All pieces were die cut from white cardstock paper and ink blended with dye inks using blending brushes.  Wilted Violet and Stormy Sky distress inks (DI) were used for the anemone flowers, Black Soot DI was used for shading on the bird house and two gradient green color dye inks from Altenew were used for the leaf bunches.

IMG_4958

Trimmed a 3/8” strip from white woodgrain paper for the bird house post and added shading to it as well using Black Soot DI.  Lightly ink blended Milled Lavender DI to the bottom of an A2 size Bristol panel before assembling the card onto a white card base.  I was going to leave the card blank, but went digging in my bits bag and found this Poppy Stamp gold foil Modest Greetings 1 sentiment that works nicely for many occasions.

IMG_4959

Well, that does it for my card.  Get ready for a brand new release tomorrow.  Thank you for joining me today.  Have a wonderful day.

Layered Friendly Snowman Hello
by Anne Thompson

As I write this post it is snowing outside again, the third day this week, changing over to rain soon--so much flooding and destruction along the coast of Maine in particular this week.  We hardly have time to clean up from one storm before another pounds us.  I'm hoping the whole winter won't be like this.  The weather does inspire me to create more winter-themed cards, however.  Today the Layered Friendly Snowman waves hello.

IMG_2768 (1)

to make this card

  • start with one of the blue papers from the OCEAN BLUE CARD STOCK COLLECTION SP1005
  • ink up the AURORA SNOWFLAKE CLING STAMP CS2083 with VersaMark ink, stamp the design onto the blue card stock, cover it with white opaque embossing powder and heat set it

IMG_2763 (1)

  • trim the embossed snowflake paper to 4 X 5 1/4 and add it to the front of a white notecard
  • Die cut all of the pieces of the LAYERED FRIENDLY SNOWMAN 94746; add colored details ( I used colored pencils); assemble the snowman adding black gems for the eyes, "coal" smile and buttons

IMG_2765-1 (1)

  • begin to assemble the card front by adding a snowflake paper doily in the center  (I've had these forever in my winter papers box)
  • use adhesive foam dots to pop the snowman on the right side of the doily
  • die cut the HELLO RUSH SCRIPT 94468 from a scrap of the embossed snowflake paper--if you don't have this die, choose one of the other "Hello" dies for the sentiment or add a stamped greeting
  • add "hello" just above the snowman's waving hand

IMG_2767 (1)

Coloring and assembling the snowman was the most labor-intensive part of making this card.  The dies are separated though to make it easier to cut the pieces from colored card stock or printed papers which would make this a much quicker project.  Even coloring with markers would be quicker.  This cute card could be sent any day this winter and for a variety of occasions.

With the rain that has fallen while typing this post we now have the perfect snow for building snowmen!  Hello, Winter!!!

IMG_2769 (1)

Happy Crafting!

Winter Tree Arch Blues
by Trina Pham

IMG_4346

Hello everyone.  With the weather going from unseasonably mild to unseasonably freezing cold in a day here, it inspired me to create this wintry card featuring never before used (NBUS) Winter Tree Arch die with some leftover pine tree die cut pieces from this post.

Partial die cutting was used with the Winter Tree Arch die to make the trees taller from its original design (see comparison photo below).  Subsequently, partial die cutting was also done with the Nested Globes dies to create the matching arch background and frame.

IMG_4350

Faded Jeans and Speckled Egg distress inks (DI) were then ink blended on the background piece before splattering it with diluted white gouache paint for snow.  Kept the pine trees white, but for some sparkle, die cut the top layers from white glitter paper.

IMG_4351

The sentiment was also die cut from white glitter paper and mounted on its navy blue shadow.  Assembled the card onto a white woidgrain panel to finish.

IMG_4352

And that does it for my card.  Thank you for joining me today.  Have a wonderful day.

A felt Layered Hummingbird delivers warm hugs on a cold winter day.  Hi, Jean here with a layered slimline design combining classic favorites and a favorite new bird set from our holiday release.  I've never seen a gray + silver hummingbird in our yard - but here he is!

MemoryBoxBirchTreeTrunks, MemoryBoxLayeredHummingbird, MemoryBoxWrappedStitchedSlimRectangles, MemoryBoxDoubleStitchedHappyHeartCutOut, MemoryBoxBigAndLittleReverseWordsClearStampSet, MemoryBoxChristmasFairyDewdrops, MemoryBoxRainbowReflectionsMirrorPad, MemoryBoxDelicatePastelGlitterPad, JeanOkimoto, MemoryBoxCo, MemoryBoxDies, SlimlineCards, HandmadeValentines, Diecutting, TreeDiecuts, TreeCards, HeartCards, Cardmaking, ValentineCrafts, BirdDiecuts, BirdCards, ImpressCardsAndCrafts

Cut Birch Tree Trunks from a white Delicate Pastel Glitter Pad 6x6.  We're just using 4 of the 5 trunks here.

Cut 2 Double Stitch Heart Cut Outs to create an inlaid design.

Cut the 2-¼" wide Wrapped Stitched Slim Rectangle from the smooth side of textured gray cardstock.

Attach adhesive label paper (or a sticker sheet) to medium- and light-gray wool-blend felt.  The paper backing stabilizes the felt and prevents adhesives from saturating it.  Cut the Layered Hummingbird base from the medium-gray felt.

Cut the head overlay from the light felt.  Cut the wings and lower part of the "face" from a silver Rainbow Reflections 6x6 sheet.  Attach the layers to the base.  Push a toothpick or skewer thru the layers to define the cutout for the eye.

Cut the beak section from light orange cardstock.  Color the eye area with a black marker.  Attach the diecut behind the head.

Stamp the greeting - from the Big and Little Reverse Words Clear Stamp Set - on white cardstock with Tulip Red VersaFine Clair.  Dry the ink, then trim it with the tab die that's included in the stamp set.  The tab is designed to cut the largest greeting - use the short ends to trim the left and right sides.

Attach the diecuts to a textured gray slimline card (3-⅝" x 8-⅝").  Add red Christmas Fairy Dewdrops.  Cut a slimline-sized piece of cardstock to protect the card front for mailing.

The Wrapped Stitched Slim Rectangles and Wrapped Stitched Rectangles sets coordinate with Memory Box stitched designs.  They frame the design without competing with the stitched diecuts.  They're great with the lovable Poppystamps Whittles too!

Try the versatile design in different colors - use kraft or aqua cardstock for the background and card.  Use pink for the greeting, hearts and jewels.

Thanks for visiting...keep safe and warm and have a great weekend!

Winter Hello
by Angie Cimbalo

Splatter main

Hello and welcome, it's Angie here today with a "Winter Hello" card to welcome in the new year!  My card as shown above was misted with water after I completed - here's a photo I took before I sprayed it:

Prior to water droplets

The inks I used and blended on the water and the horizon were Distress Ink and they react so nicely with sprayed water droplets creating lots of extra texture.  Here's a close up look at those splatters:

Splatter close

I cut two of the "Forest Path" die from white card stock and then took one after cutting it and laid it on top of a piece of "Press and Seal."  This way all the tiny pieces stayed together.  I blended Distress Inks in blues, oranges and purples across the top.  I didn't worry about ink getting on the snow drifts because I knew I was going to lay the 2nd "Forest Path" cut from white over the top of the inked one.  So once I was done inking, I added the totally white one on top with liquid glue, all except the river.  I inked the 2nd river in blue and then added it to the bottom layer.

Next I added Fluffy Stuff to simulate snow on the riverbank edges.  Once you heat it up, it puffs up and looks like snow!  I cut two of the "Hello Rush Script" word die and glued them together and used the same ink colors on it, then added it to the card.  I cut birds from white card stock using "Layered Birds" and inked the top layer of each bird with blue ink the glued them together.  I added them to the card along with snowflake sequins from my stash, then sprayed water on the whole card front before adding it to the heavyweight A2 card base.  Here's one last look:

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope your new year is off to a great start!  See you next time!

Bundled Bird and Embossed Birches by Jean Okimoto

P1029345 2

Send warm wishes with the Bundled Bird wrapped in a cozy felt scarf.  Glittered heart garlands add sparkle to a 3D-embossed birch forest.  Hi, Jean here with a design for Valentine's Day...or any winter day.

P1029379

We're adding the embossed image directly onto the card here.  Cut, score and fold a textured gray A2 card.  Spritz both sides of the card front with a light mist of water.  Emboss it with the Birch Tree Forest 3D Embossing Folder.  The background is done - and it's already "attached" to the card!

Cut the Heart Streamer Globe garlands and extra hearts from the bright pink Glitzy Glitter Pad 6x6.

Attach adhesive label paper (or a sticker sheet) to tan and bright pink wool-blend felt.  Cut Bundled Bird base and two layers of the scarf.  The paper backing stabilizes the felt and keeps adhesives from saturating it.

Cut the wings and tail from the pale gold Vintage Pastel Mirror Pad 6x6.  Cut the head overlay from kraft cardstock.

Cut the beak and eye section from orange cardstock.  Color the area that will appear behind the eye cutout with a black marker.  Attach the diecut behind the head.  Assemble Bundled Bird.

Stamp the greeting - from the Big and Little Reverse Words Clear Stamp Set - on white cardstock with Charming Pink VersaFine Clair. Cut it the greeting tab die that's included in the set - position the short end of the die to trim the extra space.  Trim the other end too.

P1029365 3

Attach the diecuts to the card - use foam tape for the greeting and behind Bundled Bird's tail.

Hope your New Year is off to a great start...thanks for visiting our blog today!

Snowflake Gate Fold Card
by Sara Cook

Hi everyone.  I have another winter card that can be used for any occasion.  This is a quick and easy card to put together.

C216DD1B-0DB6-4736-B067-E1209359C193

Card Base:

Cut a light blue heavy weight card stock to 8 1/2" x 5 1/2".  To create the gate fold score at 2 1/4" turn card around and score at 2 1/4" at the other end.  Fold and press with a bone folder.  Die cut the Aurora Snowflake Frame from the blue shiny paper from the Vintage Pastel Mirror pad.  Glue 1/2 of the frame to 1 side of the gate fold.  Trim of the side that is not glued down with a paper trimmer.  Glue the other side to the other gate flap.

E4A340CE-E6C4-4FE1-A506-F540AA8ADF70

Wrap Around Strip:

Cut from the same light blue card stock to 1 1/4" x 10".  To create the fold it is best to wrap it around the card.  Secure 1 end to the center of the left panel with washi tape and wrap around the card.  Die cut the Alpine Snowflakes from the same shiny blue paper 4 times.  Adhere the snowflakes around the strip.  Stamp "let it snow" from the Shining Star clear stamp set on the same light blue card stock with VersaFine Clair Twilight.  Trim around the sentiment.  Edge the strip and sentiment with white pigment ink.  Adhere the sentiment on the snowflake.

64AA2AC5-4E89-4E40-A1F2-2EF7CA7375FF

Assembly:

Using tape runner, adhere the strip around the card starting at the center of the left panel and ending at the center of the right panel. There should about 1 1/2" hanging over the left panel.   Add a little liquid glue just under the right panel.  Add a velcro self adhesive dot to the left flap and put the top on then close the other side pressing down on the paper to adhere the top dot.  Stamp the inside with May Peace Love & Joy surround you like the first Snow from the Yuletide Moments stamp set using VersaFine Clair Twilight ink. Adhere the extra snowflakes around the sentiment in the inside of the card.
