Naughty or nice? Here's a plaid-wrapped gift for someone on your nice list. Top it with a shiny, textured red mirror cardstock bow and a quick greeting. The Poppystamps Grosgrain Ribbon ties it all together. Hi, Jean Okimoto here with a basic holiday design that's easy to adapt for anyone on your Christmas - or birthday - list using different papers and greetings.
Cut the dark red diagonal plaid from the Jolly Christmas 6x6 with the 7-¾" x 2-¾"
Slim Basic Rectangle Layers die. No measuring or guessing what it'll look like - just 'frame' the section you want with the die and cut a perfect 6" wide rectangle with nice crisp edges.
Cut the new Dreamy Bow from the dark red Polished Foil* 6x6. (*Update - the Polished Foil pad is unavailable - you can use the new Rainbow Reflections red 6x6 for this design.)
Cut three Poppystamps Grosgrain Ribbons to match the bow. I usually just copy the picture of the design (on the die envelope) for assembly info. This bow is completely different - pieces are upside-down, reversed left/right, overlapped and wider at the bottom. I hope Dave doesn't mind!
Create a longer horizontal piece by paper-piecing two of the ribbons where it'll be covered by the bow. Attach the ribbons to the rectangle and fold the ends back - extended a little beyond the edges so it looks wrapped-around and a little poufy.
Cut the new Little Trees from a green Festive Glitter Pad 6x6. Save the extra tree for another card or a quick gifttag.
Stamp the greeting - from the new Sweet Christmas Clear Stamp Set - on white cardstock with Tulip Red VersaFine Clair. Quickly heat-emboss it with detail clear powder. Trim it with the 1-⅛" x 6-⅛" Slim Basic Rectangles Layers die. Mark the location of the left tree, then trim the left edge with one of the larger dies from the set.
Attach the diecuts to a white slimline card (3-⅝" x 8-½") - use foamdots for the greeting. Add green Christmas Fairy Crystals. Cut a slimline-sized layer of white cardstock to protect the card front for mailing.
Try different paper and color combos to personalize the design for the occasion and recipient.
November arrived so quickly - hope you're enjoying our Team's holiday designs. Thanks for visiting - see you again on Friday!
