Merry Christmas Trio
by Trina Pham

9102579F-F114-489C-B762-16DA4EA1B3C4

Hello everyone.  Christmas is just a little over a month away!  With that said, I am sharing an easy way to create a set of CAS (clean and simple) Christmas cards using products from the 2022 Christmas collection.

The process was the same for all three cards.  Started by ink smooshing a piece of mixed media paper with diluted Peacock Feathers and Wilted Violet distress inks.  Die cut all images from this piece then added clear shimmer to them for some sparkle.  Die cut the images twice from thick white paper to stack for dimension.  Die cut the sentiment from Vintage Pastel Mirror paper and stacked on top of two white ones for dimension.  Assembled so onto white woodgrain paper to finish.

On this first card and just like the large skates in my last post, the Classic Pair of Skates were laced with white baker’s twine.  The heels were die cut from silver metallic shimmer paper and the blades from silver mirror paper.

The next card features the Alpine Snowflakes.

And last but not least, the third card features the Little Trees die.  These are adorable, don’t you think?

And that’s it for my set of cards.  Thank you for joining me today.  Have a wonderful weekend.

Merry Card
by Donna Sledzik

IMG_3165 (1)

Hello everyone!  Today I have a clean and simple Christmas card for you.

I began by die cutting the Pine Needle Frame from green cardstock.  Next I cut apart the pine boughs from the frame and used green ink to darken the die cuts.

The Dreamy Bow was die cut from red cardstock and inked with red ink.

I stamped my sentiment on a white cardstock panel using black pigment ink and clear heat embossed the image.

IMG_3167

Next, I glued the greens to the white cardstock panel and spattered it with white ink.

I assembled the bow and used foam tape to adhere it to the card, and then used foam tape to glue the card front to a white card base.

To finish the card, I added some red fairy jewels to the pine bough.

That's it for today!  Have a great weekend!

Trio of Frilling Snowflake Ornaments by Jean Okimoto

P1020909

Snowflakes, glitter glue, jewel gemstones and plaids?  Yes, when the new Frilling Snowflake Ornament set makes it easy to combine design elements for a simple holiday slimline card.  Hi, Jean Okimoto here with a basic design you can create for anyone on your list.

Cut the dark red and the bright green 6x6's from the Berry Red and Lush Green Collections with the solid Frilling Snowflake Ornament die.  Cut the red/white/green diagonal stripe from the Jolly Christmas 6x6 too.  Punch holes at the top with a ⅛" circle punch, screwpunch or rotating leather punch.

Cut the snowflake and the snowflake ornament from the gold Rainbow Reflections 6x6 sheet.  Assemble the red and green ornaments.  Tie them with gold cord and curl the cord using the side of a bone folder or the plastic flower shaping tool.  For best results, follow the curl of the cord.

P1020940

Here's a tip - if you're trying to match a special color but can't find the right shade of glittered cardstock - create a custom match with Open Studio Glitter Glue.  Diecut Special Merry Christmas from the same red 6x6 used for the ornament.  Shake the bottle of Ruby Crystal Glitter Glue and squeeze a blob of it onto scrap paper.  Generously finger-press the glitter glue onto the greeting.  Just daub it on - don't try to spread it out.  Air-dry it while you assemble the card.

P1020930

Attach the ornaments to a white slimline card (3-⅝" x 8-½").  Attach the pale green Bright Jewels.

Add the greeting - slightly curved.

The Memory Box 6x6 plaids and prints are designed to coordinate with the 6x6 paper collections, glittered cardstock and mirror cardstock.  Mix, match and layer the papers and discover great combinations.

Thanks for visiting - see you again next week!

by Sara Cook

Hi everyone.  I have a cure scene card with the Little Bundled Snowman sledding down a snowy hill, spreading cheer as he goes. This is a little longer project but you can skip the ink blending and just use card stock to save time.

CBC17A8D-181F-4F82-BEEB-315278602DD1

Little Bundled Snowman:

Die cut the snowman bottom layer from light blue paper from Stormy Blue paper pack. Die cut the top 2 layers out of white. the 2nd layer ink blend with Fresh Ink Silicone Blue.  Adhere together.  Die cut the eyes from black and glue in immediately, so not to loose them.  Die cut the scarf from a red and green plaid from Jolly Christmas paper pad. Ink blend the bottom layer with Aged Mahogany Distress Ink.  Glue together using the front picture as a guide.  Die cut the hat from the deepest red from the Berry Red pad.  Die cut the top and bottom of the hat from white glitter paper from the Majestic Hues pad.  Glue together.  Die cut the arms from black card stock, and nose from white card stock.  Color the nose with an orange marker.  Adhere all the elements together with glue.

Birch Trees:

Die cut the trees from heavy weight card stock.  Take a small ink blending brush and Distress Ink Brushed Corduroy and swipe back and forth across the tree trunks, leaving white showing.  Brush on Distress Multi Medium Matte all over the trees and let dry.  This will make the surface non-porous so when we add glitter paste it does not turn brown.  Take a pallet knife and spread Snowfall Grit paste from the top down on the trees.  Let dry.

Create a 3D snowglobe window card with a Nested Globe die and Poppystamps Flurries Wide Washi Tape.  Add a layer of acetate for glossy, glassy shine.  Hi, Jean Okimoto here with a very layered holiday slimline.

Trim an 8-½" x 11" sheet of white cardstock to 10-¾".  Score it horizontally at 3-½" and 7-¼".  Cut a window from the center panel with the 3" Nested Globes die.  Save the offcut - and trim it to form a low snowbank.

Attach Poppystamps' Flurries Wide Washi Tape to black cardstock and cut a 3-¼" x 4-½" rectangle.  Cut an acetate sheet (or transparency) to the same size.

Cut the medium and small Little Bundled Snowman pieces from white cardstock.  Attach a scrap of black cardstock behind the smallest snowman for the eyes.  Cut the arms from light Kraft cardstock.  Scribble orange marker on white cardstock and cut the carrot nose.

Cut the scarf and the hat's pompom and border from the bright pink Twinkling Jewel Glitter Pad 6x6.  Attach adhesive label paper (or a sticker sheet) to bright pink felt and cut the triangle portion of the hat.

Assemble the snowlady.   Fold and attach the narrow end of the scarf behind the neck.  Attach the scarf and hat.  The Little Bundled Snowman set includes several different layers to add dimension to the scarf and hat - mix and match them to create the perfect accessories.

Attach the acetate behind the globe cutout. Attach the snowlady and snowbank to the background.  Attach the background behind the acetate.  Cut the snowglobe base from dark gray cardstock and attach it to the card front.  Tape the top and bottom edges of the center panel behind the card front.

Little Bundled Snowman Scene
by Anne Thompson

Today's challenge for me in assembling this card was keeping track of all the little pieces for the LITTLE BUNDLED SNOWMAN 94678.  I really need to clear off my work surface before beginning a new project each time!  I missed one snowman layer (which I didn't realize until I looked closely at the picture on the envelope after I had the card together) and I substituted a pearl for the tiny pompom on his cap as both pieces went AWOL. IMG_3955-ink

To make this card I started with a blank white A2 notecard and covered the front with a blue plaid from the SPRING PLAID  PP1012 6X6 paper pad.  I then cut the FOREST PATH 94702 twice, once from white cardstock and again from a second piece of the same blue plaid.  I layered the white scene minus the white path onto the background paper and added the blue path layer to make a stream in the forest.

IMG_3953-ink

To construct the LITTLE BUNDLED SNOWMAN 94678 I cut everything from white cardstock.  I used an orange marker to color the nose.  I used fingertip daubers and VersaFine Clair Pinecone ink to color the twig arms and VersaFine Clair Tulip ink to color the scarf and hat parts.  I added small black jewels to make coal eyes and buttons and a large pearl for the hat's pompom.

IMG_3952-ink

I assembled all of the pieces using the narrowest Scor-Tape (1/8") and added the snowman next to the stream using foam dimensional dots.

IMG_3955-ink

I've left room to add an appropriate sentiment later.  This all-occasion card design will work for the holidays, winter, even Valentine's Day.  And there are so many color and paper options, too.  I'll definitely be making more of these Little Bundled Snowmen!

Happy Crafting!

Winter Snowflakes
by Laura Fulcher

IMG_3885

Greetings friends. I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend. For today's card, I wanted to share with you a snowflake card using some of the latest dies. I also want to talk about something that I might have done differently if I made the card again.

To make the card, I cut out my various snowflakes using glitter paper. I wanted to add dimension to the card, so I cut out a snowflake shaped hole out of my plaid paper and popped up the entire piece of plaid paper using foam tape. The large snowflake in the bottom right hand corner is glued directly onto the kraft notecard and the plaid paper is popped up around it. Here is a close up to see the dimension better:

IMG_3889
I love the extra dimension, but if I were to make the card again, I think I would skip this step and simply cut out a kraft snowflake background for my snowflake and glue everything flat instead of popping up the plaid.

To finish the card, I added some rhinestones for extra bling. You need bling for the holidays after all!

Have a fantastic Sunday!

Need a bigger tree for the new Layered Birds and Layered Sled?  Create a taller, wider layered pine with glittered, overlapping diecuts of Layered Narrow Pines.

But first...Happy Veterans Day and Thank You to those who served our country!

Hi, Jean Okimoto here with another way to use the great versatile designs from our Christmas '22 Collection for your holiday greetings...

MemoryBoxFeatherySnowflakeDiscs, MemoryBoxLayeredBirds, MemoryBoxLayeredSled, MemoryBoxLayeredNarrowPines, MemoryBoxLushGreenCollection, MemoryBoxSweetChristmasClearStamps, MemoryBoxRainbowReflectionsMirrorPad, MemoryBoxWoodgrain Paper, MemoryBoxSquareBasics, JeanOkimoto, HandmadeChristmasCards, ChristmasDiecuts, Papercrafting, Cardmaking, FeltDiecuts, GlitteredDiecuts, ChristmasTreeCards, ImpressCardsAndCrafts

Cut the large Layered Narrow Pines from a Lush Green Collection 6x6 sheet. Remove the trunks of the two smaller pieces.  Color the remaining trunk with a brown marker.  Overlap and glue the pieces to form a wide "tree."

Cut the narrow overlays with a green Twinkling Jewel Glitter Pad  6x6.  Layer them over the tree.  It's a new tree - big enough for the birds!

Cut Layered Birds from heavy white cardstock.  Attach adhesive label paper (or a sticker sheet) to bright red felt and cut the birds again.  The paper stabilizes the felt and keeps adhesives from saturating the fabric.  Assemble the birds.

Use a hard rubber brayer to roll Starlite Black Brilliance over a strip of White Woodgrain Paper to define and darken the texture.  Cut the individual strips in the center portion of the  Layered Sled.  Cut the remainder of the sled with the red Rainbow Reflections Mirror Pad 6x6.  Cut the handle from dark gray cardstock.  Assemble the sled.

Cut two of the small Feathery Snowflake Discs from heavy white cardstock.

Stamp the greeting - from the new Sweet Christmas Clear Stamp Set - on white cardstock with Satin Red VersaFine.  Quickly heat-emboss it with detail clear powder.  Cut it wit h the 1-¾" Square Basics die.

Attach the diecuts to a 5-½" square light green card.  Square cards require extra postage and special handling, but some designs just call for a square.

Thanks for visiting our blog...keep warm and have a great weekend!

Joy Poinsettia Holiday Card
by Angie Cimbalo

Hello and welcome!  It's Angie here today with this fun "Joy" Christmas card featuring the new poinsettia die from the 2022 Christmas release.  Here's a closer look at the card:

For my card I used the new "Poinsettia Watercolor Floral" die with Memory Box "Holiday Festive Glitter" paper pad for the pink, green, and yellow parts and "Rainbow Reflections Mirror" paper pad for the reds.  The JOY was cut with the same mirror paper using the "Wooden Alpha Craft Dies" set to give it lots of texture.

The tan card stock was embossed with the "Geometric Crystals 3D" embossing folder and then each square was filled with "Clear Fairy Jewels."  Here's one last look:

I hope you like my card for today.  Be sure to stop by the Memory Box blog often for more inspiration from the design team!  Thanks for stopping by!
