Peace on Earth
by Angie Cimbalo

Close

Hello and welcome, it's Angie here today with a holiday card featuring some of the newly released 2022 Holiday products!  For my card today I used:

Forest Path 94702

Layered Birds 94684

and the Sweet Christmas stamp set CL5283

Here's a closer look at my card:

Close

To make my card I started by cutting the Forest Path die from some white card stock and then I colored the trees with alcohol markers.  I ink blended the snow line with Iced Spruce Distress Oxide ink and a dauber and then on a separate piece of white card stock I ink blended Speckled Egg Distress Oxide ink on the top half for the sky behind the trees.  I added the Forest Path panel to the inked card with liquid glue.

Next I cut the Layered Birds from white card stock and a 2nd piece of white card stock that I colored with dark red alcohol markers.  I pieced the red and white parts of the bird together with liquid glue. and added them to the trees.

I stamped the sentiment from the Sweet Christmas stamp set in red on the right side of the snowy field and then took Cosmic Shimmer Fluffy Stuff and added snow to the sky, a little on some trees and then along the path on both sides.  When you heat it up, it puffs up much like a Marvy snow pen.  Either of those would work to create some puffy snow it you'd like to add that to your card.

Here's one last look at my card:

I really like how this turned out and had so much fun creating with the new release products.  Be sure to check them all out HERE.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

My Front Door Decor as a Card
by Anne Thompson

For the holidays and throughout the winter I hang my old white and well-worn ice skates with a big plaid ribbon on the front door, and that was the inspiration for today's card.

IMG_3886-ink

For this card

Here's what I did to make the skates.

  • I threaded a large-eyed needle with deep red perle cotton and looped it doubled up through the eyelets on the two white cardstock skates.  I sewed from the bottom to the top, taping the loose ends at the bottom on the back of each skate and leaving extra long tails at the top.  (You could use any type of cording or embroidery thread for this.)
  • It works best to assemble the skate starting from the bottom layer--the silver blade.  I put small Glue Dots on the round knobs on the top of the silver skate blades and secured that piece to the back of the black heel/sole of the skates.
  • Then I used a narrow line of glue with a Glue Pen on the top edge of the black piece and added it to the bottoms of the white skates.
  • I knotted the "laces" and used a Glue Dot to anchor that near the top center of the card after I had added a piece of red plaid paper 5 1/4 X 4 to a white notecard.
  • I placed a few Glue Dots behind each skate to attach them to the background paper.

IMG_3889-ink

  • I glued the plaid and white layers of the bow parts together and then assembled the bow using large glue dots behind the small rounded center piece to attach the loops and ribbons.  When I added it to the card I used foam dimensional dots behind the loops and center.

I have a card that I can use for Christmas or any time throughout the winter.  It might even become an invitation to a skating party.

Warmest Wishes Polar Bear
by Trina Pham

691680FD-5933-44DB-9F05-11ADEE0CF550

Hello everyone.  Being my favourite time of the year for card making, I am so excited for the new Christmas release!  There are so many awesome products, but the Layering Polar Bear die caught my attention and I wanted to use it right away.

Started by die cutting the bear layering pieces from Bristol paper and shading/details added with Copic Sketch markers.  The hat and scarf were die cut from the new Christmas Jolly paper pack using Tall Bundled Snowman and Little Bundled Snowman dies, respectively. The layering sled was die cut from gold Vintage Pastel mirror paper and black cardstock.

For the background, took an A2 size Bristol panel from my stash and applied Saltwater Taffy distress ink to it with a blender brush.  Adhered the polar bear and sled, then splattered with diluted white gouache paint for snow.  Heat embossed the sentiment from Festive Christmas Greetings stamp set with white embossing powder on black cardstock to finish.

You can see the new Christmas release HERE.  So glad you could join me today.  Have a wonderful week.

Gated and Ghosted Creepy Cabin Happy Halloween
by Anne Thompson

I've got an extra post this week and decided to make one more Halloween card before I switch gears and start creating for the December holidays.  The Creepy Cabin sits behind the Fancy Gate while Ghosts in the Forest swirl around.  I think my grandsons will like this one!

IMG_3883-ink

to make this card

  • start with a white notecard
  • cut the CREEPY CABIN 94634 in the center of a piece of BLACK GLOSSY PAPER SH44004; trim it with one of the larger rectangles from RECTANGLE BASICS SET 30086 (or trim with your paper cutter 5 1/4 X 4)
  • add scraps of orange paper behind the cabin windows and door
  • add a scrap of a coral plaid paper from MADRAS PLAID CORAL AND GREEN PP1013 behind the cabin cut-out
  • attach the finished cabin panel to the front of the notecard
  • cut the FANCY GATE GLOBE 94623 from another piece of the Black Glossy Paper and attach it over the cabin, bending the side hinges a bit for more dimension
  • cut the background HAPPY HALLOWEEN POSH SCRIPT 94585 from a scrap of orange paper and the detailed lettering from a scrap of the coral plaid paper; glue them together and place at the top of the card where it will overlap the top of the gate a tiny bit
  • cut three of the small ghosts from GHOSTS IN THE FOREST 94622 using white glitter paper from the MAJESTIC HUES GLITTER PAD GP1008; add them to the front against the black paper with dimensional foam dots

Beautiful Moments Card
by Donna Sledzik

IMG_2428

Hello everyone!  Today's card features the new STAMPtember stamp set from Memory Box and Simon Says Stamp.

MEMORY BOX_STAMPtember 2022_exclusives

For my card today I decided to use the Simon Hurley Circle Stamping Foam.  When you stamp into the heated foam you get the negative image of your stamp.  There are many videos to show you how to use the stamping foam.

IMG_2447

I heated the foam with my heat tool for about 20 seconds and then pressed it into my stamp.  Next, I lightly rubbed my ink pads over the foam, misted it with water and then stamped my image onto white cardstock.

I trimmed my cardstock, mounted it to a black cardstock mat and used foam tape to adhere it to a white card base.

I die cut the largest Knotted Circle die from gold metallic cardstock and glued it around my printed circle.

I die cut the words from the same gold cardstock and glued them to the black cardstock shadow die cut.

IMG_2429

To finish the card, I added some Autumn Fairy Crystals.

That's it for today!  Thanks for stopping by today!

Two Cards with Starry Collage & Wild Spiral
by Angie Cimbalo

Main BF

Hello and welcome, it's Angie here today with two fun cards using goodies from the fall release. Here are the new dies I used for today's card:

Starry Collage 94631
Wild Spiral 94629

I also used the previously released Geometric Crystals embossing folder 1016EF and the Sylvan Butterfly 94577.

Here's another look at my card:

BF close

I used watercolor card stock and smooshed lots of Distress oxide inks and after it dried I used it to die cut the stars, butterfly background and I also cut 2 spirals out of it.

I used the 2 swirls that I cut from the watercolor smooshed cards and backed them in white card that had been embossed with embossing folder. The sentiment is from the Big & Little Words stamp set, stamped in black in on white card. Here's another look:

The butterfly background was cut from the same watercolor card and the top of the butterfly was cut with black card. I added blue tiny gems from the Christmas Jewels set. The card base was made by taking a mini slimline card and cutting it to 3" by 5.5" and I added a diagonal black card piece to give it more interest. Here's one more look:

Here's one last look at card #1:

BF 3

Now on to card #2:

Main star

I save one panel of watercolor smooshed card that I cut the swirl out of to be my card's background. I backed the opening of the swirl with black card and then added the whole panel to an A2 card base. Next I added layers stars, black and watercolor, randomly around the card. The sentiment is from Big and Little Words stamp set heat embossed in white on black card. I really like the way this turned out, it almost looks like a cartoon drawing!

I hope you like my card for today! Thanks so much for stopping by!

Halloween Easel
by Trina Pham

3BDE9DBA-771C-44E8-9C6A-72601451F0CF

Hello there.  I can’t get enough of these adorable ghosts, so I had to use them again but this time for a Halloween easel card.

Started by die cutting a moon mask with a Circle Basics die and attached it to an A2 size Bristol panel.  Using blender brushes, ink blended Speckled Egg, Faded Jeans, Chipped Sapphire and Black Soot distress inks for the sky.  Splattered with diluted black and white gouache paints for some texture.

2D79E8ED-12C5-4CEC-84A5-1049E25F8152

The Fancy Gate Globe was then die cut twice from black cardstock.  Trimmed off the arches on both; on one of them, cut in half and cut away the gate details.  Adhered them together like so to create a fence with the gate.  Great way to stretch your supplies. 😉

2E699E96-1270-436D-9028-A0D99049383B

Next, die cut the Woodgrain Tree Trunk from black cardstock and the ghosts from white.  Added shading to the moon and ghosts with Copic Sketch markers, then assemble the scene onto the panel.  The right ghost was popped up with foam adhesive for dimension.  Spritz the entire panel with a shimmer spray for some sparkle (sorry couldn’t capture it in the photos).

5AA28C96-EAF4-4587-B93D-114B701A664D

To create the easel base, scored the front of an A2 size top folding card base at 2.75” and adhered the panel to the bottom half below the scored line.  The Happy Halloween Posh Script sentiment with shadow was then die cut from white and navy cardstock to be used as the stopper.  Here’s a side view of it all propped up.

And here’s the view from the front.

And that is it for my card.  Thank you for joining me today.  Have a wonderful day.
