Greetings friends. Today I wanted to share with you the new Cattail Border die because it is great die to use for creating landscapes.
For my card today, I knew I wanted to pair it with a new beginnings stamp, so I decided to create a sunrise for the background. I started with a very pale yellow notecard and die cut a circle out of a low-tac tape meant for masking. I placed the circle on the center of the card and then created a sunrise using Fossilized Amber, Wild Honey and Candy Apple Distress Oxide inks. Here is a close up of the blending:
When I finished, I removed my masked circle and was left with the pale yellow of my notecard. I used a very smooth yellow notecard so that I would be able to layer inks on top without showing any texture.
For the cattails, I die cut them from kraft color cardstock and then sponged Frayed Burlap Distress Oxide ink onto the stems and leaves. I then colored the cattail part with Vintage Photo Distress Oxide ink and added a bit of dark brown marker to the base of each "flower" for extra dimension.
To finish the card, I added a strip of paper from the Jolly Christmas paper pack, some gems and my sentiment.
Thanks so much for stopping by today!
