The view from my window inspired today's card...cattails and trees border the pond in my yard. To make it into a Halloween scene, I added a yellow full moon and the flying witch against a glittery night sky.
There are so many papers on this 6X6 card.
- BLACK GLOSSY PAPER SH44004 as the 6X6 background
- WOODSY PLAID PP1018, one on top of the black glossy paper and five different plaids for trees and cattails
- MAJESTIC HUES GLITTER PAD GP1008 black glitter paper for the inner night sky background
- EARTH NEUTRALS COLLECTION SP1009 brown for a tree and two layers of black for the witch and the Happy Halloween background
- SUNNY ORANGE COLLECTION SP1002 for the moon and Happy Halloween lettering
These are the five dies I used.
- a circle die from the CIRCLE BASICS SET 30087
- WOODGRAIN TREE TRUNK 94630
- CATTAIL BORDER 94625
- FLYING WITCH 94624
- HAPPY HALLOWEEN POSH SCRIPT 94585
to make this card
- start with a piece of Black Glossy Paper cut 6X6
- add a layer of plaid just a scant bit smaller than the black glossy paper
- make the inner panel next starting with a 5 7/8" square of black glitter paper
- die cut a circle for the moon from yellow cardstock and add it to the upper right corner
- cut out a bunch of trees--I ended up using only 4 with the darkest one in the back and the lightest one popped up with dimensional foam in the foreground
- die cut the cattails and color the tips with a brown marker; add to the bottom of the trees; trim this panel as needed and add to the card
- die cut two of the flying witch and her cape and glue them together for more dimension and add to the upper right corner with dimensional foam dots
- cut two of the Happy Halloween background from black cardstock and glue together
- cut one of the detailed Happy Halloween lettering from yellow cardstock and add to the background using a glue pen
- add the sentiment to the lower left corner of the panel
Happy Crafting!
